Problem is there doesn't seem to be good reasons for being bloodthirsty any more, even if the whole family of the character was killed or had a shit life that justifies him, it seems its not enough and people still call it "edgy" there is no way of being "non-edgy" regardless of how you write the characters, because for autists nothing ever justifies the character and its allways "cheap writting" or "bad writting".

If you have the heroine raped, is edgy, if you have the heroine bullied, is edgy, if you have the heroine beated, its edgy, if the heroine had a male friend 10 years ago, its NTR. You literally can't write about anything "bad" without being edgy.

Which is why all professional writers never give a shit what any critics they don't personally respect said?

Let's face it. Everyone here are worse writers than even the worse LN writer because if you are actually good enough with writing, people actually would be happy to pay you to write all the time instead of you just shitposting for free with little girls in this Burmese knitting forum.

I dunno. Likely because it is a quick and simple way to off somebody in media compared to swords that usually involve huge swordfights that take up a large portion of an episode. Using a gun usually means that the guy wielding it is far more likely to shoot someone in the head before they get the time to react to it, which does tend to be very edgy indeed, especially when the opponent doesn't have a gun themselves to fight back properly.
