Overlord LN Anime and Manga

10 DAYS REMAINING until ppp

definitely not volume 11 nono

HumieFags and LevelTards are a no, wait, that would most likely make the thread slow since you spam it every day.

I was thinking more in terms of detection and tracking and shit.

More firepower would of course be great, but she had no detection and no magic was what caused shit to go badly wrong.

Some of those shadow demons would have been nice.

This also. Biggest problem is that she charged so arrogantly.

One thing Ainz has gotten right from the very beginning is that he's the only one who actually expects serious opposition and acts accordingly. The guardians, including Demi, though to a much lesser extent, and other NPCs (Narb and disappointment) are to confident which leads to multiple unforced errors.

Powerlevel bickering is great user

>HumieFags and LevelTards are a no
You're just cut off the 80% of anons in these threads.

>no, wait, that would most likely make the thread slow since you spam it every day.

oh yea.

Can Fluder with PW defeat Go Gin?

>You're
*You've
>Chair
>Arrogant
That's just her settings.
Demi most probably would assess the situation and probe enemy forces with summons before taking field personally.

How did the Pleidas punish the disappointment?

Fluder can defeat Go-Gin without PW.
Just fly and roast it with fireballs.

Fluder can defeat him without it. The stilettos that destroyed Go Gin was charged with Fluder's spells.

We already know how

Overlord is equilibred like DnD after all.

Whats the source for these? I see them all over but they're not official.

Nip threads. I lost the link.

If Fluder ever learns PW - would he use this spell for fun parties with young female apprentices?

He needs magic viagra first.

Fluder is Magicsexual/Ainzsexual. If those woman are made of pure mana then maybe.

Why is it so damn great to see Ainz loose his shit with one of the NPCs?

When he flipped out on Lupa it was probably the greatest moment of the whole damn series

>your God calls your a disappointment in front of everyone

She's lucky Albedo wasn't in the room, she's have been decapitated on the spot.

It is 2chan.

futalog.com/index.php?mode=ttl&s_word=I[o[

Man lived for more than two centuries.
>Implying he doesn't already have magic viagra
>women made of pure mana
I bet that's quite possible.
Summons bodies are said to form from caster mana (vol1).

Does she deserve a happy ending? Will she get one anyway?

Those moments when Albedo tried to be a smart-ass and Ainz fliped like "Shut your trap woman! I'm the one doing the talking here." were also golden.

Evileye is cute

True

Evileye a cumrag waiting to happen

...

Vol 11 is going to focus on the dwarfs. Vol 12 on (probably) Dragonic kingdom.

When are we going to see more of the Blue Rose? or the BS for that matter.

>She's lucky Albedo wasn't in the room, she's have been decapitated on the spot.

Naaa, Albedo wouldn't do that. But she would probably done it when Lupu started to question Ainz.

That is like the ultimate insult in Albedo's view. In fact, she likely would have been smacked on the spot if Demi, Sebas or Uncle Blue Bug was there instead of Aura.

Not sure what would Yuri's reaction be if she was there.

We cas still get some chapters with them in volume 11.
Volume 10 had
>Ainz in E-Rantel and Empire
>Philip, Albedo and Hilma
>Renner, Climb, EE and Tina
>JUST
>ST in Interlude

It's going to be a whole vol from their perspective and then they instagib in one chapter at the end.

I fully expect to see at least a few characters from the Kingdom in the Dwarven realms. The way I can see it happening

>Brain reports that Razors edge can hurt Ainz
>Kingdom identifies the Dwarven rune as a possible reason
>Blue rose/Brian dispatched to Dwarven realm to get more rune weapons
>Arrive and get invited to a feast
>Feast is Dwaves welcoming Sorcerer King Ainz Oowl Gown and his two subordinates.
>Brian seated next to Shalltear
>Aura Sitting next to EE (identifies her as undead vamp) at the kids table
>Lakyus sitting next to AOG and dwarf king going full Chuuni

As far as we know, ST is planning to send their retired BS over there to help out.

Not sure what is gonna happen there. Or Ainz's involvement.

I strongly believe Vol12 might be about Kingdom, Renner and gang + the Dragonic kingdom.

>Lakyus sitting next to AOG and dwarf king going full Chuuni

I would laugh my ass off if Ainz actually brought out a Lv80 average magical sword and casually destroy it, claiming that the weapon is too low end for it to be shown.

>Brian seated next to Shalltear
It'd be cool if, after so much shit they've gone through with each other and weird shenanigans, they actually end up talking like normal and even joking around.

Holy shit I generally despise the inclusion of lolis in LN because they tend to be nothing but eyecandy, but my dear Ainz Shalltear is so damn perfect.

Has Ainz heard about Lakyus' "nation destroying" sword?

>Lakyus muttering about darkness and her great burden
>EE and Aura arguing about Momon vs Ainz
>Brain having an incredibly tense convocation with Shalltear, who has no clue what he is talking about but is on her best behaviour after Ainz scolded her earlier
>Lakyus desperately trying to avoid the topic of her sword as Ainz questions her about it
>EE and Aura both Trash talking Shalltear
>Brain deciding that Shalltear is a fucking idiot for forgetting their first fight

Can someone translate overlord 18.5 manga?

Does blue rose and brain know that Jaldaboath and Shalltear are Ainz' minions? A part of vol 10 showed that EE actually knows about Jaldaboath...I think.

>Has Ainz heard about Lakyus' "nation destroying" sword?

Yes, EE let the cat out of the bag. Which Ainz thought that, it could be possible.

Fun really starts if PPP vs BR scenario. Where Narberal told everyone that Lakyus have that "nation destroying" sword. And all of then agreed to take her out first.

No, they want Jaldaboath and Ainz to come into conflict, indicating that they don't think they are the same faction.

Probably someone is working on it or they are waiting to 19 to be out.

Other then the criminal leaders, nobody in the NW knows about "Ainz's plan"

I wonder if they will try and dig up more info on it
>Momon, BR having a secret discussion about "defeating" AOG
>Momon presses Lakyus about if her sword possesses the power to do so
>Lakyus going pinker and pinker as the rest of BR and Momon question her over it
>Momon offers to get narb to identify the sword with magic
>Lakyus in full panic mode

Not even Ainz.

>Nobody knows about the plan

>Demi: "For now - we follow the plan"
>Ainz: "Umu"
>But I don't know the fucking plan!

Thats how it works pretty much everywhere. Everyone has a vague idea and assumes that someone else knows the details.

This raises a problem though. Brain knows that Shalltear and Jaldaboath have some form of relation.

This would be too much cringe that I can handle.

>Somehow Ainz gets pulled into the strangely heated Momon vs Ainz debate
>Fails his spot and listen checks because he got distracted with dorf king talking about magic and once again had a guild flashback
>Rolls a natural 20 bluff
>Blue rose has joined the Sorcerous kingdoms

>that I
*than I

For all Brain knows Pinky was doing was that she was there to scout out Jaldadoath.

It would be great. Lakyus Chuuni and cringe would be fucking adorable.

That would be good for the plot I think. It would be interesting to see how that would develop.

>Narb ID the sword. Turns out it is a WI.
>Special ability of the sword scales with owner's chunni.

>Ainz: I should let her keep the sword, she does not appear to be a chunni anyway.

What are the chances that Narberal accidentally exposes that she is one of the Pleiades.

If BR runs into Entoma and gang.

>Lakyus squirming and stammering
>Blue rose solemnly promising to support her face down the great threat within the sword
>Each member of the Blue Rose makes a noble speach about how they respect her as great warrior, and a pure and saintly person
>"You don't have to face this alone chief. Let us help you take the burden, and use the swords power to save humanity! We believe in you!"
>Momon says a few words with Nat20 Charisma, everyone pumped up
>Lakyus sweating buckets and limply lets the sword be taken from her
>Narb takes a deep breath and Identifies the Sword
>itsfuckingnothing.jpg
>Silence
>Lakyus' face when

She already did.
EE was just to stupid and lovestruck by Momon to realize.

ЮThe other two were ‘Rabbit’s Foot’, which boosted luck
So Yggdrasil DID have LCK stat.
I always suspected there was something fishy with Ainz rolls.

>The other two were ‘Rabbit’s Foot’, which boosted luck and ‘Bunny Tail’, which reduced monster aggro.
So Yggdrasil DID have LCK stat.
I always suspected there was something fishy with Ainz rolls.
Also you saw nothing

You forgot the nazarick fags.

You alright user?

Momon would probably say some Nat20 bs like
>Maybe only the wielder can bring out the power
>EE thinks it is a great chance to 1up Nabe
>Tells Momon only pure maidens can wield it probably, hinting Nabe is not "Pure"
>Ainz sliently screaming PA in his head

Yes, my inner commie slipped out for the moment.
I'm fine now.

>PA
>Not Cocytus

a best

>Filename

hahahahano

...

Since ST is getting retired BS guys into action, what about kingdoms retired adventurers? Like the guy that trained Gazef?

Yeah, good idea to hire some 70-80 years old guy, who cant even use that great MA he developed

Well I meant younger guys that retired early, I mean mages are still a thing even in 50-60s.

I know, but that guy was shield user or something.
That guys from raeven were retired too

lol no. Try again, humiefag.

>Dat slimetatas
hnnngh
Kingdom doesn't care.
Draconic Kingdom is paying ST for protection.

Why are slimes so sexual

He's still good enough to be included in Clem's list of people who can give her a good fight.

What happens when Martial Lord arm wrestles with Mare?

Stop reposting my slimefanfic you're making my dick hard

Go Gin ends up with broken elbow.

VOLUME 11 WHEN

VOLUME 11 ENGLISH WHEN

He breaks his humerus.

30th and ~10th respectively.

Why didn't Ainz resurrect the two Vampire Brides that were with Shalltear in Volume 3? Presumably, the brides were killed by the BS. The brides could have told Ainz about everything that occurred that night, including Brain and a description of the BS.

Good.
I was thinking of breaking my leg so that I don't have to go on two weeks work trip without internet.
Looks like I won't miss much.

You sure they're listed in NPC console?
Cuz if they don't - they could've perished into the dust or BS could just smited them into a similar state, making conventional resurrection impossible.
Maybe they're POP or just Shalltear summons.

That dedication user.

I spent months without internet before, its quite nice once you get used to it.

At least not NPCs, cause shalltear wouldnt scare them that much. NPCs are somehow, maybe not perfectly, even.

They're likely spawned by shalltear's skills. Either through a summon or her simply taking an outside woman and turning her into a sex slave. Either way that probably wouldn't place them under direct control and observation by Nazarick's systems.

I can live without the internet but not with the thought that there is vol11 english fanfic in said internet unavailable to me.

I also almost always work remotely from home while eating junk food, farting, fapping, reading LN and browsing Cred Forums all the day. My guess is that I won't be able to do that in the openspace for the duration of these two weeks.

Even though they lost contact with Shalltear, Albedo knew the vampire brides had perished, presumably because their names had disappeared from the NPC console. I doubt they would show up on the console if they were just Shalltear's summons.

kek have fun user.

They would if they were pop summons though.

I'm not sure if they can be revived via the console, or if their corpse is needed.

Not likely that Albedo saw them in the console, see this user Probably Albedo knew who's going as support troops with Shalltear and when they failed to report too - made a conclusion.
Poor sods probably tried to attack BS or worse: talk sense to MCied Chair and got ripped to shreds by their mistress.

Shalltear's body was obliterated, and they were still able to revive her.

I think it's far more likely that they are Nazarick POP mercenaries, rather than NPCs or Shalltear's summons. If they were Shalltear's summons, wouldn't they just become mind controlled as well, by extension?

yeah, via the console. I don't think POPs stay on the console when they are destroyed, you have to use ygg gold to buy new ones.

is every japanese person required by law to be able to draw anime?

>Shalltear body obliterated
You can revive NPC from any state as long as it's dead and is in console list.
>VB POP
Most likely, having mercs show up in console is kind of a cheat.
I suppose mercenary NPC in Yggdrasil doesn't come cheap, it would be broken to allow resurrecting them for cheaper price.
If the price is higher - that would defeat the purpose, everyone would just buy new merc since you can't even customize them.

>Ainz message calls Chair
>She's moping about being a shitty guardian
>doesn't even realise her god is listening to her whine.

Vol 11 better have a shit ton of Aura ripping into Chair.

I really want to see Lakyus suffer.

That was cute.
Was it in the drama cd?
I vaguely remember hearing her scream after realizing Ainz is on the line.
Was it just my imagination?

Cringe suffer or Demi suffer?

>Ainz has god tier Luck and Wisdom stats

makes sense.

youtu.be/pMdmEoED8wQ?t=3m52s

Here you go.

little column A, little column B. Little Colon C - Shalltear

>Shalltear
>Little Colon C
Good one

>Ainz was interested in that country, but he had not found his feet in this world yet, and did not have the excess energy to spread his tentacles to that nation at the moment.
Ainz spreading tentacles to Republic when?

>Little Colon C - Shalltear

ah shit, I actually laughed out loud at that.

We just gonna act like Shalltear isn't gonna slaughter some frost dragons?

She's going to beat the crap out of one and shyly give it to Aura

She's going to be busy getting bullied by Aura.

Damn rights she is

You think this little ugly gremlin can slaughter dragons?

She'll give one to Ainz and he'll name it Dragonsuke.

And probably fuck eat them too.

No, he'll name it Daifuku, which is what he originally intended to name Hamsuke.

Is it bestiality if the animal is sentient?

>most
>5 out of 8

Only nabe and the lv 100's wins, the others get murked.
Nice try nazarick fag.

I think its just Interracial these days user. No, seriously. I think in fantasy its interracial.

Isn't Albedo the least bit jealous that Ainz will be spending quality time with her two love rivals; Shalltear and Aura?

When will Ainz conduct a cheesy team-building exercise he learned from his company?

It's ok since
Shalltear x Dragon is Animal x Animal

Entoma one-shots Go Gin. Checkmate. Nice try, humiefag.

I doubt that user and I'm not even humiefag.
Entoma pretty low-tier and back-rank.
I don't see how she can hurt Go Gin with his MA and troll regeneration decisevely before he shortens the distance.
I guess she cal fly and spam explosive and bullet talismans from up high.

I almost wrote a short fanfic of just that, but with only demiurge and sebas doing the "trust fall". but I didnt know what would be funnier, demi legit not understanding or intentionaly letting sebas fall.

You forgot about Entoma's trump card.

>Breath of Fly: Shoots a swarm of small flies. These flies then lay eggs in their victims. The maggots quickly hatch and eat the victim's flesh and rapidly grow to flies, only to repeat the process with new victims.

>gets utterly dominated by non PW Ainz (~level 30 warrior)
>even threatening one of the maids

>Little colon

This thread is full of madmen

Demi would try to discern the "true meaning" behind Ainz's trust test and would intentionally let Sebas fall to teach him a valuable lesson 'do not trust even a fellow guardian'.

You're not forgetting Go Gin is wearing heavy armor on him?
Almost no exposed skin.
I also doubt these flies would be able to outpace War Troll regeneration ability given that trolls can regenerate after being beheaded or cleaved in half.
His skin is also very sturdy and thick, flies might not be able to penetrate it.
Probably Yuri, Lupu or Nabe would be able to defeat him.
Solution is questionable while CZ and Entoma would lose.
Ainz tanked with 100lvl HP and used racial drain.
That's not a fair comparison.
Without Nullification turned off Go Gin would not be able to hurt Ainz whatsoever.

He did turn it off though, and even then Go Gin did fuck all damage to Ainz.

But what I meant was that with Ainz stats, which are roughly equivalent to a level 30 warrior, he was able to fight Go Gin on even terms, dodging attacks, striking Go-Gin repeatedly, with just his physical stats, which are inferior to pretty much all the Maids.

s-sasuga demiurge-sama! only you could hope to determine the true meaning of "trustu farru"

Go Gin did a lot of damage to Ainz.
But not enough for 100lvl HP.
Pleiades level and HP are lower.
What mattered in their fight were that strike with stiletto enchanted with Fireball, racial drain skill and finishing acid strike with other stiletto.
Entoma and CZ are backliners, once Go Gin shortens the distance - they'll lose after putting up a good fight.

>CZ would lose

CZ has a gun. CZ snipes Go Gin.

>Entoma would lose

Go Gin isn't wearing a hazmat suit. There are air holes and other openings in his armor for the flies to get in. The flies don't have to break through his skin, they can enter through his mouth, ears, eyes, etc. Imagine Go Gin's eyes being devoured by insects. Maggots fill his mouth and travel down into his stomach to feed on his internal organs. Go Gin's regeneration would work against him, it would mean an everlasting food supply for the maggots. The maggots mature into flies which give birth to even more maggots; a cycle that repeats itself until there are millions of maggots and flies feasting on Go Gin's innards. All his organs are being rapidly consumed. Do you think Go Gin will be able to fight in that condition? Meanwhile, Entoma will just spam summons, bullets, and explosive talismans. Go Gin gets rekt.

Entoma was abre tô effortless destroy gagaran alone. She can tank better and has her summons and insect weapons. Are you really so blind to ignore this and just say: GG Bye!???

>his physical stats, which are inferior to pretty much all the Maids
>more HP than any Maid
>more P. Atk than Narb and Entoma
>more P. Def than any Maid
>more Speed than Lupu, Narb and Entoma

Ainz only has ~50% more HP than the weaker Pled. Go Gin didn't do anywhere near that much HP, and Both CZ and Entoma have enough power to completely school him. Shizu is 50% faster than Ainz, who was faster than Go Gin.

It was not à equal fight, man. Ainz did everything in his power to equalize the fight. You are acting as if he truly strugled to win.

>CZ Snipes
If they fight on open ground - yes, Go Gin is fucked.
But I had a fight in the Arena in mind albeit with magic ON.
>No hazmat suit
Eh, I don't think he has no way to deal with it.
He has a crushing weapon that is capable of AOE attacks, something like powerslam the ground with shrapnel flying everywhere IDK.
Don't compare puny humie with superior War Troll.
They're nowhere near.
I doubt Entoma can tank MA club accompanied with Divine MA.
Also this Ainz have 2x P.def and more P.atk and HP than meidos.
>More P.Def than any meido + undead resist to crits

One Paralyze or Acid spell and Go Gin is dead, then Entoma gets to enjoy the flesh of a regenerating troll.

>flesh of troll
It tastes like shit according to Demi though
>Acid spell
She have those?
Then I'll agree on that point.

Did you Just read hajime no ippo to think that tanking hits with your face is a great tactic? Or did you forgot how much GO Gin struggled?

Why are you all getting baited by the humiefag? This is what the humies want. They want us to question Nazarick's superiority.

>Nabe one-shots Go Gin with chain dragon lightning
>Lupus is a fucking werewolf, her physical strength is greater than Go Gin's
>Shizu is fast and can snipe from a distance. Guns are OP.
>Solution is highly resistant to physical attacks and she's strong and fast. Go Gin gets dissolved.
>Yuri can one punch Go Gin
>Entoma can have him devoured by flies while she spams explosive talismans and bullet bugs

Pleiades > Go Gin

Entoma can't spam summons they take time
and she had a 20+ lv advantage and didn't kill gagaran instantly, she's shit. in close combat.
Go-gin one shots her.

>flies and guns

He swings and the flies go flying.
G-in isn't an american, he uses martial arts and regenerates from the guns.

She can use the explosive talismans for the fire dmg

Of course he struggled Ainz prepared all the PVP data beforehand as well as keikakued tactics and equipment.
He still flied around the arena a few times.
Backline meidos would struggle against Go Gin.
I fuckin said that here.
Only two meidos would lose against Go Gin: baclkiners CZ and Entoma if they fight in close quarters of Arena.
Read what you quote.

Is there any single unit or group that can take any of the Floor Guardians?

BS, with CD and the cap vs Demi?

PDL vs Demi?

>talismans
>fire damange
She'll have to find a way to penetrate his armor with those first to apply them directly on skin.
I didn't get the impression that they are at 10kg c4 level of explosives.
Like shed his armor with Bullet Insects first if that's even possible with Adamantium.
IDK what power those talismans have and how Tina's [Adamantium Shield] MA translates into actual adamantium properties.
She deflected the Bullet Insects with it.

She has lighting spells as well which are good vs a full armor target like Go Gin as well

>137 posts
>23 posters

Read the fight against gagaran again. Entoma was able to defend against gagaran super hit combo. She barely get dirt on her clotes

Which failed to kill meager 20 lvl ninja with 2 hits.
IDK how adamantium works against lightning either.
Trolls are weak against fire and acid, nothing said about lightning.
Gagaran is human.
Humans are weak shits while Go Gin have Divine MA.
He has superior physique and superior skills as a warrior compared to Gagaran.

CZ would snipe a bullet into Go Gins head through the slits in his helmet, good night troll man

>Divine MA
>superior skills as a warrior
How did this meme started?

Trolls regenerate destroyed head user.
It's even in the LN.

>nothing said about lightning.
armored targets are noted as being susceptible to lighting. Troll regen still takes time to kick in, While Go Gin is regening she can just send swarms of bugs inside his armor and rain down explosive talismans while crawling around in rooftops with her spider legs.

It's literally in the LN.

>Implying he won't close the distance first thing
Ainz commended him on being fast despite huge frame.

You mean that one [Divine Skill Single Flash]?

it was am incendiary bullet, nighty night troll man

One Divine MA is still more than Gagaran knows.
Eh, yeah, he'll probably kick the bucket.
I don't know how that would work in DnD: would he die cuz brain fail to regenerate or burn damage recovers but very slowly?

covers him with spider web debuff

>One Divine MA is still more than Gagaran knows
You're fucking stupid.
It's a normal MA with name "Divine" not a higher rank of MA.

You're fucking stupid.
It's Divine rank of MA.
Item that prevents movement restriction kicks in.

>Divine rank of MA
And here I thought humiefag was at his best with
>CD can beat unarmed Chair

does Go Gin have an item like that?

Do you guys have any Overlord fanfics you would recommend?

...

But she can.

Do you guys think the Book of the Dead will actually DO anything in the new world? And how funny would it be if it did?

Can Yuri beat Go Gin? Yuri couldn't even beat a spellcaster in melee in a 2v1 so it's doubtful.

Heaven's Downfall?
I wrote some Clem shitfanfic
pastebin.com/0Am77fuz
There is one about Beholder girl and Baby in Nazarick.

EE level is higher than Yuri's and Go Gin's.
CZ or Yuri alone would not be able to beat EE, this much was even said in LN by other Pleiades.

I dont remember reading the bit when Ainz said that... granted, I read vol10 pretty quickly, but i dont remember that.

It is doing something in New World.
Keeping Fluder from being disillusioned in Ainz for the time being.

>EE level is higher than Yuri's and Go Gin's
What is EE level? And what is Go Gin's level?
>this much was even said in LN
No it wasn't.

does Troll regen have no limit? Will you just never lose a fight if enemy has no fire or acid?

Do you mean the actual fanfic's fanfic
or just the fanfic?

EE said to have 150+ NW powerlevel which is /3=~50 Ygggdrasil levels
Assuming Pleiades said she's higher than CZ and Yuri - should be at least ~55.
>No it wasn't
>Volume 6 Chapter 11 Part 1 5th Day 03:56
>“Evileye is quite strong. By levels alone, she might not be an opponent Yuri-nee-san or Shizu could beat alone.” A shadow passed over the face of the battle maids for the first time.
Read the fucking LN.

Yes, you need a counter to win.

"It will be fine."
As everyone's attention turned to her, she continued, "Evileye and myself are both elementalists. We are arcane magic casters that specialize in the use of a particular element. Although this means our attack power increases greatly, it also means that outside of our area of expertise, we are quite weak."

You too.

Lightning retard can't win then

She can use fireball, and she's more powerful than Fluder. Fluder's fireball infused Stiletto was devastating to Go Gin, and Narb can spam the shit out of them.

Also, lighting burns people to ash, so that should stop a troll from regening.

Yes, there was a moment where Lupus turned a troll into mush and it was still alive and healing. She was quite happy about it since it meant she could keep torturing it to death, without killing it.

Remember Overlord is based on D&D, and in that game, trolls are effectively immortal unless you use acid or fire to shock their bodies so they don't regenerate anymore. There's a famous account in D&D second edition (AD&D) telling about how a huge dire bear killed and ate a troll, an the troll regenerated inside its stomach and tore his way out. Which honestly is retarded because of stomach acid, but it does show that they are super hard to kill.

Seriously tho, I always felt that was retarded and a show of how writers dont really know what the fuck they're writing about...

There's even a specific race o trolls that swarm adventurers BECAUSE THEY NEED TO BE CHOPPED INTO PIECES so the pieces would grow into more trolls... which is, again, retarded. I mean, what keeps them from tearing each other apart to flood the world with trolls?

But yeah, trolls are near impossible to kill unless you KILL IT WITH FIRE (or acid)... or an instant death spell.

Basically, if you are lowering its hp blow by blow, it will keep regenerating (at a fixed speed), and while in D&D, most things die when they hit -10 hp, this does not apply to trolls. You are meant to bring them down to -10hp or less, than apply fire or acid to stop their regeneration. Only then it is considered really dead.

That's where the term "troll" comes from, you know?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll

>8th tier
No, I think she would.
>attack power
Against Yuri flight and spam would be enough
Against CZ - IDK, she won't be affected by negative energy, but other than attack - her other stats are low.
She probably can't take a lot of hits with Crystal Lance.

what?

>Against Yuri flight and spam would be enough
What is she gonna spam? Earth based spells? Negative energy spells?
You're also assuming Yuri will just stand below and tank everything.

You can still kill it with a instant death spell/effect/ability, though

Who knows? even a low level death spell would work after you weakened it enough (unconscious) since its willpower cannot fend off spells if it is unconscious.

>Also, lighting burns people to ash, so that should stop a troll from regening.

I know you are right, but sadly the rules say you are wrong.

Again, I agree with you. 100%
But the rules classify electricity and fire as different things. You need acid or fire to stop a troll's regeneration. That's it.

I would say that Entoma has a better chance, since she could eat it, and her stomach's acids would count. But that's my opinion and some GMs would be assholes and say it doesn't

>Against Yuri flight and spam would be enough
None of EE's spells slowed or damaged Yuri. She could only escape and dodge.

>BECAUSE THEY NEED TO BE CHOPPED INTO PIECES so the pieces would grow into more trolls.
sounds like orks

>Negative energy spells
Yeah I kekd at this one too.
>Stand below
Yes, I do assume that.
What will she do?
Grow wings and fly?
A doubt every pleiades have flight items or they would use it to pursue EE more efficiently.
True, I'd think regeneration and general superior physique are related to InstaDeath resist though.

Does a skeleton troll lose its regen?

Okay lads, these much should keep you going.
Bait-kun out.

>they would use it to pursue EE more efficiently
Why would they do this? They didn't fight her seriously.
I'm pretty sure CZ could oneshot EE's magic shield if she wanted to.

>Earth based spells?

Earth based spells include acid spells. Just throwing that out there

>I bet that's quite possible.
>Summons bodies are said to form from caster mana (vol1)

Well, if it's anything like the summoning in D&D, then there is a difference between Summoning and Calling. Summoning is the most common in both systems, it seems, and is simply the caster shaping mana into a preexisting "mold" of a creature that is summoned. This summoned creature is as capable as its truly living counterpart, except for certain abilities like if they had the ability to summon other creatures or something. It's good to think of summoned creatures like a robot that is programed to be the creature and follow the summoner's orders, but is not a permanent entity and will fade into non-existence when the spell ends. A Called creature is a being that actually resides on another plane and the mana for the casting is used to bridge the gap between the worlds and drag it to the summoner/caller. As you would imagine a creature being forcibly ripped from its home would be, most Called creatures are not too pleased with being called and many are outright hostile, which is why safety precautions need to be taken when casting the spell such as placing a protection spell focused inwards to stop the called creature from leaving the point it was called to before a contract is made or using a prearranged Dimensional Anchor to stop the creature from just returning to its native plane should it have the ability to do so.

Also, the Ygg/NW "Summon Undead" does not seem to be an actual summoning school spell in the NW, but functions more like a Create Undead spell, so you should not consider the undead Ainz or anyone else creates when thinking about the rules of summoning in this world.

Whether or not Overlord is this hyper specific in the rules/types of summoning is pure speculation.

dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Troll_Skeleton
Yes.

well that's boring

I don't see anyway she can win especially with go-gin martial art advantage.
So that's 2 Pleiades down (entoma, yuri) let's keep going, Lupus is next.

>cleric

Go-gin has his regen so lupus doesn't' have an advantage there, I'd say it's another solid win.

>go-gin martial art advantage
How is few shitty martial arts an adventage over special skills and abilities from Yggdrasil?

Entoma was fighting defensively because she thought Gagaran and Tia were level 70+.

>Evileye's objective was to draw the battle out. As such, she could not use the strategy of converting physical damage to mana damage. Without mana, Evileye would be unable to fight. This meant she would have to expend her HP and mana evenly.
Anybody else from NW uses "HP" so fluently?

you guys are forgetting that nazarick have better equips

>True, I'd think regeneration and general superior physique are related to InstaDeath resist though.

No. The only creature I know of that has instadeath resistance would be the Tarrasque (Im not SURE but I think The First Oni also has it). The Tarrasque has FFast Healing AND regeneration AND immunity to death spells, each specifically mentioned in its own entry.

Fun fact: The Tarrasque automatically kills anything under level 5 (in original D&D, levels only go up to 20, so I guess that would translate as level 20 in Iggdrassyl levels?) by sheer fear of it. Creatures over level 5 but under level 8 MAY or may not die of heart attack/fear, while all other creatures get the privilege of getting trampled, beaten, and eaten.

The Tarrasque is basically D&D's tribute to Godzilla.

Once you took it down (somehow), you still need to cast Wish (Upon A Star) to ask the universe to stop fucking with you... I mean, to ask the gods to keep it down.

Amongst its most hilarious traits, lies the fact that when you target it with a spell, a six-sided dice must be rolled. If it rolls 1 to 5, NOTHING HAPPENS. As in, it doesn't even notices your puny spell.

But on a 6? Oh boy ain't the Tarrasque fun? Your spell bounces back at you.

Since the author likes D&D so much, I wonder if we'll ever get to see the tarrasque in Overlord?

Well, the most common strategy to kill the tarrasque is to somehow lure it into a water trap, since it doesnt has waterbreathing and the rules say anything that needs to breathe air, can drown underwater...

well, she knew a player back in the day.

Beat the tarrasque by true mind switching into it.

>True, I'd think regeneration and general superior physique are related to InstaDeath resist though.

No, orks need to die, then their bodies release spores that will eventually grow into more orks. Then again, they also release spores while they're alive, which is why a planet invaded by orks is almost guaranteed to be forever more doomed to be attacked by orks. Doesnt matter how many times you kill them all, explore the darkest deeperst corners of your world looking for surviving orks and kill them too, the fucking spores will eventually grow more orks.

Thats why regiments specialized in fighting orks use flamethrowers. It's what works.

..come think of it, yeah, that does sound like trolls...

Tarrasque doesn't have Fast Healing, it just has universal Regeneration. In other words you cannot deal lethal damage to it in any manner.
The Tarrasque does not have immunity to death effects, death effects just fill its nonlethal HP and knock it out for a few minutes, it cannot die.
Also plenty of things have immunity to death effects in 3.5, such as Constructs and Undead (though Undead still fall prey to the Undeath to Death spell).
Most blatantly anything can gain it merely by being under the common 4th level spell Death Ward.

Ainz gave Fluder the book "Book of the Dead" right? Isn't that the same book Ainz used to level up from Skelly Mage to Lich as mentioned in the earlier volumes?

Well, regeneration means endless life force, and undead are animated by negative energy, which is basically anti-life so it would be weird if it kept its regeneration.

>How is few shitty martial arts an adventage over special skills and abilities from Yggdrasil?

I've played D&D for literal decades. There's several "editions" of it, and I can tell you that the author played from 3e(dition) forward. In 3.5 edition, there was a book called "The Tome of Nine Swords" which tried to address the lack of balance between casters and non-casters (fighters) by introducing martial arts which were just as powerful as spells.

Im preeeeetty sure the author made a in-joke abiut the tome of 9 swords opening a whole new world for his gaming group when he wrote overlord.

There's also a book called Savage Species which had the rules needed to play as monsters in D&D. Liches, succubus, werewolves, etc

>Beat the tarrasque by true mind switching into it.

The tarrasque will automatically ignore or, if you are unlucky, cause your spell to affect you instead. I don't think mindswitching your mind with your mind will do anything.

Not even disorient yourself. Probably

>introducing martial arts which were just as powerful as spells
Just like Yggdrasil warriors' skills and abilities.

>Tarrasque doesn't have Fast Healing, it just has universal Regeneration.

It really depends on which edition tarrasque you are talking about, though.

classic D&D?
AD&D?
D&D 3e?
D&D 3.5?
DnD 4e?
DnD 5e?

>Ainz gave Fluder the book "Book of the Dead" right? Isn't that the same book Ainz used to level up from Skelly Mage to Lich as mentioned in the earlier volumes?

Is it? (mentioned before?)

In regards to editions with the specific Fast Healing and Regeneration features, it's going to be 3.5 typically.
I don't think it even regenerates in 5E, it's just hella tanky.

what if Rubedo is a Tarrasque?

Savage Species is fine for players to use so long as the DM is comfortable with it and it's a great tool for DMs to use as you can throw in non-fully powered versions of cool monsters at players. Book of Nine Weeaboos is dumb.

>Just like Yggdrasil warriors' skills and abilities.

Problem is, the New World people are too low level.

Truly high leveled sword techniques and skills are basically undistinguishable from high level spells.

This is the part that I don't understand, so I would appreciate it if someone were to clear it up for me.

Whats the difference between martial arts and warrior abilities?

Did warriors have mana too ? or were the abilities different, like Gazef had the six fold slash that allowed him to attack six targets at the same time, would Ygg not have an ability like that?

I would believe it

Yes, it's the same book.

>high leveled sword techniques and skills are basically undistinguishable from high level spells
But we still haven't seen the real high leveled MA.

Martial Arts require stamina.
Warriors in Yggdrasil had cooldown abilities.

>Book of Nine Weeaboos is dumb.

Weaboo Fightan Magic

Please give it its full name. And yes I agree. But we have to admit it existed and that it is probably what the author means when he talks about skills and techniques in the New World

fluder's just going to be reading the book, minding his own business.
>At last, I've finally reached the last page of this legendary grimoire, the page that will complete my knowledge and wholly contextualize my entire understanding of magic!
*poof*
>Umu. Did I do something wrong? Or did I do something, well, right?

what the fuck does it do?

I'll agree with you there, considering the similarity between many of the NW MAs and maneuvers, stances, and some of the per-battle combat feats.

Noooobody knooooows...

It would be funnier if it said

"Printed in Japan"

On the last page.

Then he can wonder what printing is, and what japan is

Now you're just making shit up.

>what the fuck does it do?

This is the only throne i can think of in D&D history...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throne_of_the_Gods

Can raise the dead
Can kill the living
Can find lost items

>What will she do?
>Grow wings and fly?
>A doubt every pleiades have flight items
she literally has one of these items in volume 8

>to find lost items
maybe that's how they found all those other WCI, it's a dragonball radar

Nope, its in the rules.

Any spell that "targets the tarrasque" requires a roll of the (six sifef) dice

1 to 5: Nothing happens
6: You just hit yourself.

And now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Just somehow drown it, man. Its the best way to kill it

By the way, thats the 5th edition tarrasque, which is the weakest tarrasque to date, out of all the different editions.

I guess they're trying to market it to people by going "Now, you too can maybe kill the tarrasque too!"

It's only spells that require an attack roll, line spells, or magic missle dumbass.
Spells that force a save with no attack roll that aren't lines can effect it.

Fucking new players never read the fucking book.

>It's only spells that require an attack roll, line spells, or magic missle dumbass.

Oh, they truly, greatly weakened it in 5e!

Well I dont play 5e anyway. I got stuck in 3.5 and sometimes 4e.

>Any spell that "targets the tarrasque"
Wrong wording. It only deflects spells that have attack rolls. As for AoE effects, in 5E there it's only lines, in 3.5 it's also cones and rays. In no case does it affect spells that automatically hit, and in any case, True Mind Switch is a manifestation (a psion ability) and not a spell. It doesn't roll to-hit or anything. It just gets a will save.
In 5E, of course, it can trigger its Legendary Resistance to not be affected, though this is between-editions. 5E does not have True Mind Switch and 3.5's Tarrasque does not have Legendary Resistance.

Stay to your shit editions - we don't need more people who *can't fucking read*. We have far too many as-is.

Even in 3.5 it reads
> The tarrasque’s armorlike carapace is exceptionally tough and highly reflective, deflecting all rays, lines, cones, and even magic missile spells. There is a 30% chance of reflecting any such effect back at the caster; otherwise, it is merely negated. Check for reflection before rolling to overcome the creature’s spell resistance.

>rays, lines, cones, and magic missile spells
So non-rays non-lines non-cones (such as, say, a fireball, which is a Burst AoE) are fine, as are targeted spells such as Kelgore's Fire Bolt. (This is just for reference, as 3.5's Tarrasque has immunity to fire.)

True Mind Switch on the Tarrasque is 100% viable, and now you'll have a 17th level Psion Tarrasque running around.

>backliner CZ

Don't think CZ is physically weak just because she's a sniper. CZ has a 67 in Phy. Atk. CZ has the highest physical attack among the Pleiades, she's stronger than even Lupu who easily beat up a troll. Her physical attack is also nearly double Ainz's. CZ could easily tear apart Go Gin with her bare hands.

Oh you are right, my memory has failed me

> Will you just never lose a fight if enemy has no fire or acid?
You just need to have higher DPS that troll's regeneration per sec.

A level 1 Aaracokcra with a Longbow and about 400 arrows can solo this guy. It'll take awhile, but 5e is the "easiest" edition so far.

Takes more than 400, given you spend an average of 20 arrows to hit it and with regular stats you're dealing 2d8+4 (assuming +1 weapon) every hit. So that's 13 damage every 20 arrows. So 400 arrows is only getting you an average of 260 damage into it, and that's over the course of *400 rounds*.
You're only gonna hit on a crit. Also, it needs to be a magical longbow or magical ammunition, else it would take 0 damage even on your crit.

It'd need to be a magical longbow, which no level 1 characters have.

Make it an aarakocra wizard who knows Acid Splash. Less things to carry.
However, cheese like that is what gets us the 4E Tarrasque's aura of super gravity. So don't.

You're in range of the tarrasque if you're in range to acid splash. So that wouldn't work.

>tail
>reach of 20 ft
>Acid Splash
>reach of 60 ft
???
It'd need to be able to jump 40 feet into the air. Rules for High Jump say it can only make 13.

Read the last paragraph of the high jump rules.
Then refer to the MM and look at the tarrasque's height.

Also, realize that the tarrasque is gargantuan, and occupies squares to fit it's size. It's range extends from any of the outside squares.

Didn't even notice the damage immunities. I suppose if we really want to crank up the cheese you can take the Inheritor Background. You can get any item you want from it with DM permission, so there's our magic item.

How much does a quiver way, can the bird even carry 400 arrows?

Also, with a +1 bow can't we start hitting on 19. I forget if birds get a +1 or 2 to Dex, but if its +1 than Roll+Proficiency+3 is already 20. If birds do get +2 Dex then we can already hit on 19, and a +1 weapon on top of that brings us to 18.

It's well known that the Tarrasque stands 50 feet tall, thus the aarakocra wizard will be flying at an altitude of 105 feet.
Tarrasque jumps 13 feet in the air. Its arms go up to 75+13 feet, reaching an altitude of 98. Aarakocra wizard is safe.

...

The terrasque can go prone, lowering the spaces it occupies and forcing the aarakocra to come closer in order to be able to hit it with acid splash.
Aarakocra wizard is in danger!

It was mentioned in 4th volume when Ainz talks about race change items for imps, elder liches and so on during the talks with Cocytus taking care and training lizardmen.

So unless he managed to cheat the system, yes he did use an item with same name.

Well Demi always prepares multiple plans and approaches but he is bit arrogant and hasty too.

When he first battled with Evileye he was prone to make the error of judgment that those with her must be of same caliber and disregarded the others at the scene.

Which ended in him one-shot bbq roasting Gagaran & the twin and he apologizes for that. But what if Gagaran had been the first to attack and receive evaluation? Would Demi still be as much on guard against EE & twin?

Remember that it has an intelligence of 3, but it would need to lower its altitude by a range that the Aarakocra cannot dip down, shoot, and fly back up. With a 50 foot fly speed, an aarakocra wizard can dip as low as 80 altitude and retreat to safety in one round. (Standing from prone, jumping, and attacking is too complex for one readied action, so this does not endanger them.) Can the 50 foot tall Tarrasque lay as flat as below 25 feet?

Thanks to bounded accuracy, attack spam is how you win 5e. So the skelly summoning necromancer is the king of combat.

Sasuga Ainz-sama!

Gives a whole new twist to the old "Brain, what are we going to do today?" "Take over the world" intro from age old Pinky & Brain.

Why do retarded humiefags use Entoma as evidence that "levels don't matter"? Just because she didn't immediately one-shot Gagaran and Tia? Despite the fact that Entoma isn't a frontline fighter and she's the weakest of the maids, she was still beating Blue Rose. Entoma was about to kill Gagaran but Tia interrupted and saved her, then when Entoma was about to finish off both of them, EE interrupted the fight.

Entoma would have killed Gagaran, Tia, and EE if it weren't for EE's bug spray. Humiefags are desperate.

An intelligence of 3 can figure that out over the course of a couple hundred rounds.

>Can the 50 foot tall Tarrasque lay as flat as below 25 feet?
Its image certainly looks like it could.
But, allow me to RAW you a moment.
The PHB lists gargantuan simply as regularly occupying/threatening a 20-by-20ft (or larger) space. Well, we need not necessarily make the tarrasque occupy any more than that 20-by-20ft space for what spaces it actually can be threatened by or threaten from. And high jump rules are still based on *actual* height, not spaces occupied. ;)

Yeah but they can never break through Go Gin's regen

Go Gin can't break through their superior stats/magic/skills/equipment.

Just like Brain's God Slash which he describes to be godly and have divine speed and reaching the realm of gods is divine, eh humiefag?

Every single one of them could one-shot Go Gin.

I can't decide who my favorite character is, help!

>Solution is literally a walking pile of acid

>You can get any item you want from it
>with DM permission
You can *already* get any item you want with a DM's permission. But any DM who just lets you start with magic shit as a level 1 - especially in 5e of all editions - is very very silly indeed.

I remember cheesing my way out of a Tarrasque at level 10 in 3.5.

The Abyss is a lot more interesting. An infinite dungeon with all kinds of fuckery and reality warping allowed.

I feel some inspirations from Imperium/Tau weaponry.

Funnily, the Tarrasque's biggest weakness is that it is fucking stupid and wants to eat all its enemies that it can while simultaneously not chewing. If you can survive the first hit, get grabbed/swallowed, and are able to survive the crushing/acid damage dealt every round you can easily damage its innards until it hits 0 HP.

Heresy

>Yeah but they can never break through Go Gin's regen

>Solution is a walking pile of acid
>Entoma would be happy to over power him and eat him forever
>Lupus and Nabe can literally roast him with a single spell.
>CZs build seems built around super long range critical hits so he would never know what the fuck knocked him out 10 times in a row for 24 hours.

>Yuri would administer DISCIPLINE!

>blinded
>restrained
>taking 16d6 every round with no save
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but last time I checked nothing in the game gives you immunity to acid damage.

Also, it retains its AC against you while you're inside it.
And by RAW its reflective carrapace still applies even if you're in its guts.

Why do people think there is no way for them to deal with trolls? In chapter 8 side 1 (2/2) didn't Lupu roast the troll she just easily smashed? Or was that pillar of fire just a natural weather phenomenon that luckily struck the troll and had nothing to do with lupu.

“There you go~”

Fire descended from the heavens, and a pillar of red light engulfed the troll, producing the stench of cooked meat.

“Now then, the matter of the troll’s settled, so I’ll be taking off. Ah, Enfi-chan, Ainz-sama wants to reward you for developing the purple potion, so he invited you to his house. Hope you’ve prepared yourself~ Or should I say, any last words?”

After saying that, Lupusregina left through the back door.

Re-reading from Volume 1. Damn. So-bin's art has improved a lot since then.

>blinded
>restrained
In 3.5 there are no inflicted conditions for being in the Tarrasque's stomach, and the per-round damage is a mere 4d8+14. Furthermore it's an extraordinary nonmagical source that is easily mitigated by DR. (Even just adamantine heavy armor will shave 6 damage off that.)
>Also, it retains its AC against you while you're inside it.
In 3.5 it does not. Its digestive tract has its own AC of 25, versus its natural 35. And the damage per round is significantly lower than being hit by its full attack round after round.

Getting swallowed in 5E is significantly more of a problem and probably a death sentence, thus the "cheese" methods above are the only real complaints.

Clerics can cast Flame Strike and Heal.

>And by RAW its reflective carrapace still applies even if you're in its guts.

This is really stupid. D&D gets stupid FAST if you look for it, which is why any serious group does not cheese anything (even though they could) and house-rules this kind of crap. You could probably defeat Demogorgon at lvl 5 if your DM puts no breaks on the rule-abusing train.

I was talking 5e.
I've been in optimization threads for 3.5 back in the day, and you can kill the tarrasque solo with sub-level-6's.

>16d6

Where are you getting this number? Maybe we're talking about different editions, but in 3.X the Monster Manual reads, "Swallow Whole (Ex): The tarrasque can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of Huge or smaller size by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponent takes 2d8+8 points of crushing damage plus 2d8+6 points of acid damage per round from the tarrasques digestive juices. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by dealing 50 points of damage to the tarrasque's digestive tract (AC 25) Once the creatures exits, muscular action sloses the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. The tarrasque's gullet can hold 2 Huge, 8 Large, 32 Medium, 128 Small, or 512 Tiny or smaller creatures." At level 10+ you can easily have enough acid resistance with some basic 1-3 level scrolls or some potions and 2d8+8 is a negligible amount of damage compared to the total of its full attack action.

Carapace is specifically stated to be, "Carapace (Ex): The tarrasque's armorlike carapace is exceptionally tough and highly reflective..." So by that first sentence of the description it is pretty easy to reason that a place where there is no carapace, i.e. its stomach, would not carry the same properties, but even if it did I was talking more about a melee character.

5e. The superior edition.
You're forgetting there's a more popular (and better) version of D&D currently in circulation.

I mean I like 5E a lot too but the guy was clearly talking about 3.5.

>More popular
No?

>and better
Maybe? I was never a big fan of it and this is a lot of shit you're throwing my way for no real good reason. Is something up?

There was a theory last thread that it was the cause of Ainz's Keikaku.

It's more popular.
More people play 5e than 3.5.
Player satisfaction of the edition is also much higher than 3.5 solicited.

I just responded to the one post, in which no mention of edition came up. I didn't look through the chain, because I'm a 5e crusader.

Where are you getting the popularity figures from? Because 3.X is 3.0/3.25, 3.5, AND PF.

>implying go-gin will just stand there and get hit

He bltizes lupus head off the moment she starts casting a spell speed
ainz - 40
lupus - 37

I liked the theory that it has the ability to re-summon the final raid boss from Nazarick.

PF is not 3.5.
Also pic related.

Roll20 is basically a microcosm of the TTRPG industry.

A DM who lets you fight a Terrasque at level one is already very very silly. The point of the hypothetical is not why but how.

If you can add any magic items you want then it defeats the thought experiment.
No shit artifacts are going to allow you to shit on things.

I'm probably in the minority then, but I consider PF a 3.X considering it takes just as much effort to make something work from PF in 3.5 or vise versa as it does to make something from 3.0 work in 3.5 or vise versa. Also, I respectfully disagree with the implication that NEXT is a better system and that the popularity of it is a direct result of that. It is a more streamlined system meant to attract new players to TTRPGs and has done so fairly effectively, but that does not make it better in my mind. Easier to get into from scratch, sure, but not better once you are familiar with both systems.

It's better. I've been an avid D&D player all my life. In 3.5 I was a crazed optimizer, and the holes in 3.5 are far *FAR* too many and far *FAR* too ingrained and common in the system. The PHB is the absolute most broken thing in the world.

5e has none of the unbalanced bullshit while maintaining every ounce of possible fluff and makes it all workable in a nice streamlined package without worthless ribbonaids and ivory-towerism.

"to give increased strength, or intelligence, and to uncover hidden truths. If the gods are offended by the request, perhaps because the request is one of arrogance, or because it is unclear, or even for other reasons which only the gods themselves know, then the gods may curse the foolish mortal instead"

>implying lupus is unable to overpower him

A mass of blood-spattered meat shifted and twitched under the bloodied head of Lupus’ crozier. There was nothing about the pile of broken flesh that suggested that it had once been a troll. However, what made it disgusting was the fact that it was still regenerating, and still breathing.

“Ahhh well~ it’s good you two are fine. Then I guess I can clean things up here too.”

How much more powerful are you assuming he is than the troll lupus smashed?

You're getting baited by the humiefag user. Stop replying to him, he already knows the Pleiades are superior to Go Gin. He's trolling.

Seconded. Shit like Pun Pun was all over the place. 5Es streamlined rules and the clarity if them also makes it easier to homebrew things and make the adventure personal.

>I've been an avid D&D player all my life
So have I? If you are including that point because you think I was talking down to you for liking NEXT because I believe it is more accessible to newer players, I was not and I apologize for not making myself clearer.

>In 3.5 I was a crazed optimizer, and the holes in 3.5 are far *FAR* too many and far *FAR* too ingrained and common in the system. The PHB is the absolute most broken thing in the world.
Without you citing specific instances, I cannot agree or disagree with this claim. That being said, we should probably not continue with this line of conversation in an Overlord thread on Cred Forums as edition wars or discussions should probably stay on /tg/. I'll trust that you are familiar enough with both systems like I am and that we simply enjoy a different one more. Also, if I might make a suggestion without offending maybe next time don't say "better" as if it was objective? I don't know, but phrasing it more as your opinion and less of an undeniable fact is less grating to the mind when reading.

>Easier to get into from scratch, sure, but not better once you are familiar with both systems
My point is that's wrong.

>My point is that's wrong
Sure, you're right. I concede and your opinion is better than mine. You clearly win, now just go back to taking about Overlord.

Speaking of which, what are people's favorite and least favorite volumes? I'll start with mine.

Favorite: 9
Least Favorite: 5, not because I think it was bad but because it is the first half of a two-parter that doesn't really stand up well on its own.

Yeah have to agree on the 5th one, if they had included Sebas' judgment as a finisher then it might have been pretty great but with just Sebas walking to the meet was bit unfulfilling.

For same reason I hope author shies away from doing 2 parters in the future unless they're Side A, Side B style and even then splitting one volume to do that is more enticing, like 8th.

The current formula of buildup with current themes and then appropriate climax every 3 volumes is pretty good so no need to fix something that isn't broken.

>Without you citing specific instances
Druid's animal companion, druid's Natural Spell feat, cleric's Righteous Might spell, wizard's Glitterdust spell, Web spell, Monk and Paladin relying on 3 primary stats each, Monk having 3/4ths BAB, Monk not being proficient with Unarmed Strike, Fighter having no real features whatsoever and being worse than Barbarian at essentially everything, magic item creation rules, Metamagic Rods, feat trees often starting with the utterly atrocious Dodge and Mobility pair...
The fact that someone without Knowledge (Local) ranks literally cannot identify what species they are due to the way the Knowledge skill works (can't receive a result higher than 10 untrained, check to identify a creature is 10+HD [in other words 11])...
>we should probably not continue with this line of conversation in an Overlord thread
The last two threads have been nothing but asinine powerlevel wanking, nobody's going to notice.

I think the trap in the 8th floor is related to those bosses.

Four simultaneous raid bosses plus Victim, and then if a raid boss is slain, constantly respawning monsters show up ad infinitum. Doesn't matter how many of you there are, as long as there are slain raid bosses, your group will die off. If ever the last raid boss get close to dying, Victim does his thing, and then someone resurrects the other raid bosses and Victim.

Yea, not including Sebas' "trial" was a bit lame. I didn't get started reading until the anime came out, so I can only imagine how frustrating it was to readers who were keeping up with the series at the time of the volumes release. And the current formula has me hooked too, haha.

It's Ee beats cocytus ali over again

Best Volume is Emissary of the King

>Ainz takes the sword and give it to PA
>The swords turns into a WCI on par with the twenty and can be used indefinitely.

Well he does have a point at times like Yuri can't really beat Go Gin.

Even if Yuri can 1 shot him down for the count, I can't see any ability Yuri have to prevent a Troll from Regen itself.

No.3 here even I'm a Yurifag, can't really come out with how Yuri could really put down Go Gin for good, in a fight. Unless negative energy affects Trolls? Or she uses outside means, like bottles of Acid.

For the rest of the cast, he seems to avoid Solution on purpose. And forgetting CZ have tons of futuristic weapons. Ain't out of the question that CZ have high energy Lazer weaponry.

Yuri punches hard and fast enough she can generate heat

pretty sure cz can just take off her top and blast go-gin with her rocket launcher tits. GG indeed

>lastborn lvl 100

Post useless disappointments

...

...

mmm so many ways to make this sexual.

can't wait for dwarf waifus

>Yuri punches hard and fast enough she can generate heat

Yeah, the next thing she could do is German suplex Go gin so hard, it generate a localised nuke.

>hard nipples

So since Ainz beat Shalltear does that mean he can beat any of the guardians?

Probably. Shalltear was the overall strongest Guardian and a hard counter to Ainz.

I really want to see Ainz schooling everybody in pvp and passing on the teachings of Punito Moe. They all seem a bit incompetent still besides maybe Albedo and Demi.

Remember that he was given free time to assemble an according gear set, as well as a period to apply an extensive series of buffs, and then open the fight with a super-tier spell. He had everything going for him in the fight against Shalltear. Shalltear would probably kill him in a spontaneous 1v1.

Ainz is like batman, if he gets prep time he can beat anyone

Lupus is ovulating and realizes you're about to cum while balls deep. What level do you have to be to make sure you're strong enough to hold her down on your dick so she can't pull off in time?

lvl 25 with a good MA

With WCI for sure yes. Also if he wasnt damn paranoid and use the real Staff of AOG, yes.

Is Ainz really not gaining xp? I understand that he's not gaining exp like in the game but NW leveling seems more organic as it was discussed before. For example, he learned from Clem's techniques and added some of it into his repertoire. Shouldn't that count as progression towards warrior levels?

I don't think Ainz goes anywhere without his WCI.
Knowing him he even had it on him during Vol 8's bathhouse scene.

yeah it's kinda of weird, he's clearly becoming a better warrior but he still can't pick up a normal sword and wield it.

knowledge, techniques, muscles, are not related to levels and stats. levels and stats in the new world are related to (superhuman) potential and talent. this is the entire point of climb in volume 5 and explicitly stated.

True, but Ainz is progressing though. He started with 0 levels as a warrior so he shouldn't have any potential or talent as a warrior, yet he has been learning and making some progress.

But thats less than half her level.

Martial Arts are op though and will destroy Nazarick. Clem had a time altering Martial Art and she's low level. Ainz has to be level 100 to stop time.

You should brush your baiting skills bit more.

He isn't gaining any "warrior skills" i.e. greater striking power or making his weapons sharper or being able to utilize techniques. He's just using physics, i.e. leverage or stances and knowledge of his own reach and angles. It's all purely intellectual application.

He's gaining experience, but not experience points.

Solution is literally immune to physical damage.

is Lupus gaining exp?

Will Philip be brave enough to try to befriend Ainz if he meets him in person? Will he ever get the chance?

Yuri and CZ literally were not trying, Ainz wouldn't have let them kill Evileye it'd hurt his publicity and his chances of meeting with Lakyus.

in a way

I want her pussy to gain experience in taking my dick.

Yuri and CZ were chosen specifically because they were immune to EE's preferred status effects and they had their heads screwed on tightly enough to not kill her by accident.

EE was struggling like mad against them and was prepared to die while neither of them were anywhere close to being pressed.

Apart from Lupus is any of the Pleiades builds more versatile than Evileyes?

No she's a virgin who talks dirty
If you actually whipped your dick out it's unlikely she'd perform much better than the average virgin, meaning she'd look at it funny for a while since dicks do actually look utterly retarded, lick it (and this wouldn't feel particularly better than you just fapping), then try to jam it down her throat like in porn then immediately cough on it and start choking and retching once she got it out of her mouth, if she didn't outright throw up.

entoma is basically a versatile support.

she has summons, ranged attack magic, melee and midranged weaponry, mobility through flying and with huge bug legs, probably a ton of buffs and debuffs via talisman

>she throws up
That's my lube.

Entoma is meant to be a versatile build. Lupus is a fucking Cleric.

this is my fetish

>Cleric
>Not versatile
?

It doesn't count if you're a Cleric or a Druid.

as a non DnD person please explain why I always keep hearing about how OP druids, clerics, and wizards are

>Surprise flashed across the faces of Albedo and the other Guardians. In the Great Tomb of Nazarick, there were four NPCs who were exponents of melee combat. Cocytus had the strongest attack power when using a weapon, Albedo had an impregnable defense when in her heavy armor, while Sebas in his true form was stronger than either of them two in melee combat. And then was one more, who was superior to them.
>one more who was superior to them
Who was it? Rubedo? Gargantua?

What would Evileyes build look at level 100? Earth Elementalist level 100? Is there level 8 Crystal magic and higher?

probably Gargantua since you can't really consider Rubedo a normal npc to compare others to

It's Rubedo. Gargantua isn't a warrior.

is Gargantua just a walking catapult or something?

Wizards grow exponentially with level unlike warriors. In 3.5e at level 1, a Wizard can do just about nothing and can famously die to an angry cat. At level 20 they can do shit like summon STORMS of meteors, dread wraiths, teleport at will to anywhere they've seen with no chance of failure, scry, create a new fucking demiplane filled with succubus bitches slaving over his cock (or filled with incubi to fuck her silly although I imagine it'd be dangerous to get broken by your summon), stop time, kill everything in a radius instantly etc. Warriors at level 1 have a sword and at level 20 have a bigger sword and slash faster. Epic Wizards can also literally send shit into orbit, force eclipses, and call themselves from the next turn to help them in the current turn then become invulnerable during the next turn because they don't fucking exist there. Obviously this entire list doesn't include Wish.
Druids and Clerics are like Wizards but with the close combat and pre-buff strength of a warrior.

It says melee combat, not melee skill.

He's a strategic siege golem. SO yeah, he can probably throw a mountain at people. He did throw a rock big enough to accommodate all the Guardians at once into the frozen lake.

Gargantua is a giant golem.

It also says NPC. Gargantua isn't an NPC. It's a golem that was awarded to AOG.

>walks up to Slane Theocracy's walls
>what's that
>[Colossal Titan intensifies]
>punches a hole through the walls then disappears

That's still an NPC.

>Gargantua is a giant golem.
no way really!

I wonder if he looks like Alexander from the FF series.

The manga is great for reaction images

>new fucking demiplane filled with succubus bitches slaving over his cock

>strategic siege golem
Was it meant to be used against other Guilds bases? Now I expect Ainz to use it when raiding PDLs home.

>what japan is
A Godly realm where supreme beings similar to Ainz live their casual lives.

It's probably just extremely fucking powerful but slow to attack and meant to attacking massive targets instead of player-sized targets
Kind of like trebuchets, they're definitely stronger than a crossbow but they're expensive, slow to load and fire, and while they're not inaccurate by any means it's really not a good idea to use it as an anti-personel siege weapon

It's been stated that Rubedo could beat Touch Me in PvP. It's pretty clear Rubedo was the one being referenced as the NPC with the greatest melee prowess.

You don't have to put succubi there if you don't want to but that's the most common version I've seen.

Gargantua looks like a stubby-limbed rock titan.
Basically think of a ball with four squarish cylinders attached to it and another cylinder as a head on top.

i'd never dream of doing something so base

Anything in there that can make Ainz capable of making Nazaricks wishes come true?

Ainz has already made Nazarick's wish come true, they have an Ainz-sama to serve.

His continued existence and occasional signs of approval make Nazarick literally Eden for them

Here's the rundown.
A fighter can hit things with a sword.
A warblade can hit things with a sword, and flex his muscles to warp reality sometimes.
A wizard can twiddle his fingers and make reality do what he wants.
A druid can do basically everything a wizard can, except he also gets a pet Fighter and can turn into a bear on demand.
A properly-built druid gets DM powers and gets to dictate the environment that he battles in, basically ruling the game in a way that other classes cannot interact with.
I can give a more specific explanation if necessary.

Id say their biggest wish would be to have reassurance that they will always have someone to serve. If they had a heir they'll stop acting so anxious all the time (maybe).

That sounds op and broken as hell and I like it.

>Epic Wizards can also literally send shit into orbit
Haha, that was my favorite epic spell. Like, "I'm done talking with you now. Enjoy space."
It's not even very good tactically but it's hilarious to think about.

how do you get DM powers? Is Mare going to warp reality at some point?

Don't forget Clerics being basically Battlemages except they're actually better than Wizards oftentimes at spellcasting and are as good as Warriors are even before getting buffed - by themselves.

There's also the non-epic spell which buries a nigger like a kilometer under the ground and nobody can free them without knowing where they are first.

Nah. If Maruyama knew about that prestige class he'd give it to a player. Basically, Druids already sit at the top of the heap, edging out clerics by a little bit and even wizards by a lot. On top of that, there's an infamous prestige class called Planar Shepherd, which allows a Druid to select any plane in the multiverse to attune to. Planar Shepherds lose nothing from Druid progression, they get all their spells and wild shapes and animal companion etc., it's a strict upgrade from the top. In addition, they get to cause a planar bubble onto the field, enveloping everything around them and forcing it to obey the physics of their attuned plane. This has obvious uses, like sucking enemies into a deadly bubble of the Elemental Plane of Acid, or much less obvious but much more useful options, like trapping yourself (and only yourself) in a planar bubble of the time-shifted Region of Dreams, Dal Quor, which explicitly moves 10x faster than the material plane, giving the Druid 10 turns to every 1 turn of his opponents.
Yet more trickery is that Planar Shepherds get to Wild Shape into Outsiders of their selected plane. This means a Druid who attunes to the Elemental Plane of Fire gets to Wild Shape into an Efreeti. Efreeti can use Wish 3 times a day as a spell-like ability (which consumes no exp). It's quite bullshit.

In a spontaneous 1v1 he'd teleport out and return when he had an advantage.

Imprisonment always seems like bigger nightmare fuel to me.

What happens when Mare gets angry?

Doesn't Imprisonment make the guy unconscious and locked in time or something

Before they tossed her into the Black Capsule Hilma realized that prostitution can be dangerous after she got knotted by one of Aura's summons

Ygg might've been unbalanced but they did rebalance some of the shit from DnD that was supremely bullshit, I highly fucking doubt that would've been allowed.

My headcannon is that Ainz is gathering Elves to serve as his stress relievers and keep him from getting to built up (that's why he sleeps so much cause he's always fuckin in his spare time). If he doesn't get to relieve stress he goes full psycho and transforms into a giant wolf monster, and the only one who can calm him down after is Aura.

Imprisonment, while much more strategically viable, just doesn't have the radical factor of turning your opponent into a new satellite.

He will befriend Ainz then he'll ask Ainz for Albedo's hand in marriage. Ainz will agree. Then he'll conspire with Albedo and instigate infighting and with her help take over Nazarick. Then he will wake up and find himself in the Demi's Happy farm.
Sasuga Philip-sama.

I kind of wish casting Eclipse then casting Nailed to the Sky would mash the guy into the giant disc

anyone knows when does the new manga chapter release?

Mare is a stone cold motherfucker. He beat the fuck out of that hoe. Mare is the scariest guardian.

maybe next week along with PPP?

mare's face always cracks me up in this picture

...

Ainza-sama!!!

What's the point of tits?

Imprisonment puts you in temporal stasis so you don't eat, breathe, age, etc. but you remain consciousness. It's basically that Doctor Who episode where the Doctor makes everybody live forever in fucked-up ways. "Something powerful gets freed from Imprisonment but is now hopelessly insane" in a fairly common plot device.

...

Yeah that doesn't sound like fun at all

But what's the point of them
Who are you going to give a titjob to

Whoever I want, you're not my real dad!

That Skeleton's face is making me giggle
>DAYUM DESE TITS

>the only one who can calm him down after is Aura.
>Not Ainz

That company always makes their necromancers titty monsters. The reasoning is that breasts give life and necromancers give life to the dead.

Ainz doesn't want to get Mare addicted to prostate massages.

Homo fuck off

So apparently Nazarick pays upkeep costs for certain NPCs like Auras beasts, is that upkeep cost now the food that they eat?

Their motif is being rather sexual in general, as fertility and the generation of new life creates a strong contrast with their powers of death.
Odette has this the most since other than her tits and beautiful face, she's a skeleton.

Well, they produce more tits and hotties so I don't mind.

Would you waifu Ainz-sama if he had tits and a beautiful face?

>Would you waifu Ainz-sama if he had tits and a beautiful face?
If Ainz were female she'd be the #1 moe of the series. Adorable dojikko who stumbles into doing everything right.

Peroroncino would probably want to fuck her silly too

If Satoru was a female their IRL reunions would have been very different.

>implying he didn't want to do that anyway
Chair is a dead give away of this fact.

Though I'm actually happy that Ainz isn't female. I like the way story is currently.

Amusing plot antics aside, I find Momonga to be pretty boring, actually. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be intentional, but basically all he has is a crappy future job and Yggdrasil. He's too much of a template for my liking. The other Ainz Ooal Gown members are all more interesting.
But it's just how japanese stories go, isn't it? The protagonist is "japanese everyman with a job and one hobby".

>He's too much of a template for my liking
If youre lucky and smart you will never have to work a soul sucking job.

So start making smart choices before youre 30 and realize youre fucked.

The other AoG members wouldn't work specifically because the story itself hinges on the idea that Satoru was an overworked lifeless salaryman who was fairly competent at what he did and now has to be the goddamn CEO of a company with enough power to obliterate nations at the drop of a hat and with subordinates possessed by something approaching religious zeal.
Peroroncino would make it a shitty harem.
Bukubuku Chagama would turn out more or less the same as Ainz except significantly worse because she's not a negotiator.
Ulbert and Touch Me wouldn't work because they AREN'T the everyman.
Also, if he didn't have a crappy future job and Ygg and nothing else, he'd have quit like everyone else. Ygg was a dying game.

What can I say, it was sort off necessary to use someone like Suzuki who had nothing but a job and the game. If it were Touch Me instead of Momonga, he'd try to go back to real world because he had other stuff to worry about in real life. Same thing with almost all other SBs.

Even presuming they didn't none of them would work like Momonga did even if they had the skeletal body except MAYBE Herohero.

Amusing plot antics aside, I said I said!

So basically the entire plot aside?

Also, a lot of readers tend to find other AOG members interesting mostly because we know almost nothing about them. I'm sure they'd become boring as well once all their details are laid out before us.

Well the majority of the plot is amusing, yes. It's what's around Ainz and how it interacts with him that's interesting rather than he being interesting.

you dont find it interesting when Papa bones goes into full panic mode?

Amusing and interesting are different adjectives. Funny and entertaining as all get-out, but not quite captivating.

What do you find "interesting" then? Flat as hell archetypes like Peroroncino and Touch Me and Ulbert? Or people we know almost nothing but specula about like Bukubukuchagama and Lucifer?

More like Tabula Smaragdina and Blue Planet. Characters who have interests or motivation, perhaps reasons to live.
Ulbert also seems to have notable depth to him hinted in the Prologue extra, being a conflicted and somewhat spiteful person.

>Tabula
We know literally fucking nothing about Tabula besides him being autistic.

>Blue Planet
>sperging over nature
>interesting

>their heads screwed on tightly enough

Ok, I admit, I laughed.

Tabula is a man of many hobbies and something of a character creator. He likes satisfying his own esoteric desires, making characters that fit his tastes. His interests include alchemy, mythology, horror movies, and tabletop RPGs.
We don't know a lot about him, to be sure, but he at least can have the space for a compelling identity.

>know nothing about Tabula
>Panty stash
We know he desired Albedo at least.

As I said, besides him being autistic. We know nothing about his personality, nothing about his 'identity', and the idea is that the very fact he'd have a strong identity beyond Ygg is what makes him a giant red flag.

Everyone does.

God damn you, now theres a 2nd game I wish was real.

Way late but

When Ainz summons a Death knight, if there is a corpse nearby to infuse, then the spell latches onto that corpse and lasts forever. The Corpse acts as an anchor for the death knight.

If there is no corpse involved, then the DK fades after a few hours.

But can Pleiades defeat Terrasque?

Having interests and desires is the framework for an identity, learn character analysis. The very first thing you should ask is "what does this character want".
Ainz asks this of himself and comes up with no real answer, in-goddamn-story. He'd like to see his friends again, but has no means to mobilize to that end, so it remains nothing but a dream.
What would Tabula want? I don't know, I'm not his author. But with his interests he has the space to want something, and that's where room for intrigue lies.

>we don't know
We literally do now. Ainz wanted to
>spread the name of Ainz Ooal Gown without making them look evil
And now
>wants to spread the 'dream' of Nazarick to the entire world.

That's not what Ainz himself wants, that's the role Ainz, the person, has written for "Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown". Project Utopia is a hobby, an interim, something to do while he waits and hopes for his friends to arrive, to reach them if they're in the new world, and show off to them if they are.

That is literally what Ainz, the person, wants. To him the guild is literally everything, and it's sensible that he'd wish to spread the dream he and his fellows originally created for themselves to the entire world. He even muses that he's literally the only one who can make it happen.

Ainz wants to find his friends, hence Albedo's death squad.

You don't consider that he wants to build a Kingdom that would stand the test of time and repel any hostiles in case he had to wait centuries for the next Player drop?

It's funny how easily Ainz decided to pursue the archetypical villain plan of "world domination", maybe he subconsciously always wanted to do that (throwback to his chunni days) or its his new overlord mentality?

World domination is hardly a villain goal to be honest. If you have the unique power to give everlasting prosperity you could argue that NOT conquering the world and giving prosperity is evil.

We had a discussion the other day about this. I was pointing out that whatever is on the 8th floor whiped out that supermassive raid. The fact that the raid failed is impressive sure - but thats not the most impressive fact. Raids often failed, rarely working on the first try. Thats why AOG clearing Nazerick in one shot was so impressive the devs sat up and took notice. So the 1500 strong raid failing is impressive, but not unexpected.

But the really cool thing?

Whatever was on the 8th floor was so brokenly OP, that the 1500 strong raid, made up of several major guilds and now knowing what the layout and dangers of Nazerick were, just gave up. They didn't try again, because they didn't believe they could beat it. THAT is the impressive thing to take away from that story.

It's you again Clancy-kun?

Yup. Morning!

A raid boss isn't enough for that
I can imagine that the Throne of Kings might be even more broken.
Victim's broken-ass build and Rubedo aside, it's possible that the Throne of Kings actually makes Nazarick a Great Tomb. If Nazarick beat a raid boss, it gets added to the Tomb.

You seem to be inferring something that's not quite there. He's not making the world into his guild. He's just setting up a place where people can be happy, because that place would become famous, and world-renowned, causing the name "Ainz Ooal Gown" to reach far and wide until where a hypothetical guild mate would hear it.
The thing is he doesn't really "want" that. It's a stepping stone, born partially from the expectations of Demiurge's misunderstanding. The "conquer the world" initiative means as much to him as an ant farm would. He doesn't want the ants to die, but their survival isn't a priority so much as a pastime. He doesn't even know players have a century-based appearance pattern.

"Those on the 8th floor" - probably the Raid bosses AOG get to keep thanks to Throne WCI.
They are caged, victim only had to die and Rubedo is neutral until activated = no aggro, Lastborn is telespammer and can't really be cornered by them.
That's the headcanon.
>Century-based
I think he has the idea now.

Yea, my bad. I forgot to differentiate between the two uses of Ygg/NWs "Summon Undead" in my explanation. The one using the appropriate corpse would be Create Undead and using it without the corpse would be the same as the D&D version of Summon Undead.

>He's not making the world into his guild. He's just setting up a place where people can be happy, because that place would become famous, and world-renowned, causing the name "Ainz Ooal Gown" to reach far and wide until where a hypothetical guild mate would hear it.
It's fairly obvious from how he's been thinking of his guildies less and less obsessively over the past ten volumes that he's growing into accepting the fact that they're not here, they're unlikely to ever be here, and that he has to make the best of it, now that they're not here. If nothing else, what better tribute to his departed fellows than to spread their shared dream on a WORLD scale for eternity?

>doesn't want that
That's like saying a physicist who got into physics because his dad was an astronomer doesn't really 'want' to do physics. At this point, next to just living his own life and relaxing with the Guardians, that's actually what he wants.

he's a lonely human being stuck in the rut of a salaryman, with no other salvation in a post-apocalyptic world other than playing games.

"what does this character want" isn't easy to answer, because it's an existential, philosophical problem. if you need a soundbyte, i'd say 'he wants something just beyond his grasp.' this isn't high literature but i think the series conveys this perfectly fine.

>I think he has the idea now.
He doesn't. He only knows that players have appeared in the past, one had a WCI that controls minds, and one was a minotaur who had modern appliances made out of magic. Nobody's explained to him about the 6GG or 8GK yet.

Papa Bones riding Zombie Catastrophe Dragon Lord when?

Punito Moe: "I have taught you many ways to PK, Momonga-san. Ambushes, traps, even politics. But to break your prey's spirit is to truly destroy him."

Hopefully in 10 days

The Guilds are Wavering!

>But to break your prey's spirit is to truly destroy him
That's exactly what he did in vol9. He broke all of the Empire knights' spirits along with hat-chan's.

And Volume 10 remember
fancy meeting you here

I'm inclined to agree with you on that one. If it was just a raid boss, or even several raid bosses that get resurrected, then I don't think it would be enough to discourage people from attempting it, it just makes it a challenge. A very, very difficult challenge sure, but I can see MMO players actually taking that as a direct challenge. IIRC, there was a real world case where the devs made an "unclearable dungeon" that was actually just really hard, and a bunch of guilds and players worked together to clear to boss. As long as its possible, gamers will work to find a way.

But the 8th floor? Thats something they just gave up on. As says, the 8th floor broke the spirit of everyone who took part in that huge raid, and convinced the rest of Ygg that attacking AOG in their home base was a waste of resources.

Maybe not the CDL, but possibly Zombie dragon in vol 11.

I'm looking forward to Ainz dropping the bombshell that he used to farm Dragons en mass for fun to the Dwarfs. They must have killed thousands just to farm for the Staff of AOG.

Volume 10 is as recent as it comes and he's still hung up on it.
From Nigel's translation
>Using this place for the experiment sounds like a good idea, Ainz thought.
[...]
>If he could do that, then if he ever found his former friends ― his former guildmates ― he could proudly show this city off to them.
[...]
>Just like how his friends might be hiding in some corner of the world, he would make a world where different heteromorphs and races could smile and live.

Basically, it's his one and only goal. The Sorcerous Kingdom is not a goal nor a desire, but a testing ground.

>At this point, next to just living his own life and relaxing with the Guardians, that's actually what he wants.
Not even that. He's only with the guardians because he doesn't want to disappoint or upset them, or abandon them in the way he was abandoned. He treasures them as precious memories, but not as friends. If they weren't there to anchor him who is shackled to his past, he would have absolutely nothing to do.

I'm not saying he's poorly written, but seeing what Momonga is going to do next is near the bottom of my interests in the new world. (Interests, not entertainment. He is very funny.) I want to see how everyone reacts to him, and how his meandering busywork throws everything into chaos and disarray.

I still expect the Imperial knights to piss themselves and heil Ainz whenever they hear bleating.

The problem is the scale. 1500 is a fucking ridiculous number, it'd be a triple-sized raid if a raid party of 24 were a single person. If you had even ten raid bosses sitting there they'd be blown clean out.

What if Victim debuffed entire area before raid bosses and Rubedo were unleashed?
It would be massacre.

Another thing, assembling a raid of 1500 players isn't a joke or even a simple matter. It's like preparing for a war. It'd require a lot of planning and time. And if such a big raid fails, that in itself is a spirit breaking thing.

>IIRC, there was a real world case where the devs made an "unclearable dungeon" that was actually just really hard, and a bunch of guilds and players worked together to clear to boss. As long as its possible, gamers will work to find a way.
I think it was Absolute Virtue from FFXI; the players actually did it using a loophole the devs didn't expect and the devs patched it out.

Personally, I think the reason was a combination of what you said AND guild politics; a big reason why 8 top guilds would come together to challenge Nazarick was because none of them wanted to lose out on the bounty of loot they would reap from clearing Nazarick. Their greed was enough to overcome their initial animosity and rivalry towards each other.

But when all of them were comprehensively annihilated by the 8th Floor? Their fragile alliance shattered and they immediately blamed each other for losing their best loot. Hell, PM may have stirred up shit so other guilds would attack them in their weakened state. This would ensure nobody would ever dare attack Nazarick again, because every time they thought about it, they would think about the 8 Guilds' Alliance and how they died.

>Through me you go to the grief wracked city; Through me you go to everlasting pain; Through me you go a pass among lost souls. Justice inspired my exalted Creator: I am a creature of the Holiest Power, of Wisdom in the Highest and of Primal Love. Nothing till I was made was made, only eternal beings. And I endure eternally. Abandon all hope — Ye Who Enter Here.

Don't forget AOG had 12 WCI throughout its history. They're bullshit. I doubt it was all dungeon traps and NPCs that stumped the uber-raid.

Well, the main problem is that the raid bosses had to be made beatable, the players were not constrained by that. So you'd have raid bosses using back to back raid wiping moves and covering weaknesses in their attack patterns.

Can't stay out of the fire when the floor is lava.

this reminds me - what would have happened to nazarick if the 1500 player raid succeeded?

would the invaders have just taken everything in the treasury and from the 9th and 10th floor and pk'd aog until they quit the game? owning a guild base barely seems worth it if you're targeted.

That depends what a level 30 Martyr is actually capable of
I stick to my point that Martyr is a class whose effect scale with the relative strength of yourself compared with your enemies. A level 30 is literally piss-tier compared to a level 100, and if you brought multiple raid parties against him it'd be horrendously scaled up - but if you don't, Rubedo, Lastborn, and the other bosses will kill you even without the debuffs. It's a no-win situation, that's why they got broken - they literally can't get past the floor without getting wiped as a result no matter if they bring overwhelming firepower or a lack thereof.

They would have taken the loot and immediately started fighting each other for the best pieces.

That's what I was trying to get at when I said the raid bosses covered each others' weaknesses. Force everyone to use fire attacks on one boss, for example, and then have another boss which reflects all fire attacks done to him intercept all those attacks, or something.

Exactly!

They would have had very little trouble clearing out the floors above with that number - even Shalltear would have only lasted a few seconds against that number - and yet they got absolutely obliterated.

Floor 8 has some broken shit on it.

>Absolute Virtue

That might be it.

Guild politics would have had some part to play in why that 8 guild alliance never tried again, but there are a lot of guilds in ygg. None of them ever made another alliance, even with the fact that those 8 guilds would have mapped out a good portion of Nazerick and leaked a lot of the information.

Either way, Floor 8 is scary.

AOG gets massacred and has to rebuild from scratch pretty much, or quit.

Why is Shalltear so tiny?

You love the 8th floor don't you Clancy-kun

Shock'n'Awe user, Shock'n'Awe

I'm starting to feel like Maruyama has written himself into a cornered by this 1500 player raid and 8th floor problem. Now he either has to give us some utterly broken setup that none of us can even imagine, or has to leave 8th floor unexplained altogether.

There were a lot of guilds in YGG, but only 8 of them banded together to challenge Nazarick. Plus, I'm willing to bet that Victim proceeded to blind and incapacitate everyone so they had no idea how they died, just that they did.

If I ever write up the gaiden of the great invasion, I think it'll go like this:

Prologue: Ainz-sama tells the Guardians a story
Chapter 1: Gathering forces for the invasion
Chapter 2: The invasion
Chapter 3: VICTIM (this is basically a chat log of people screaming and dying one by one and ragequitting)
Epilogue: Fallout from the invasion and all the loot they gathered.

what a brutal game

>I think it was Absolute Virtue from FFXI; the players actually did it using a loophole the devs didn't expect and the devs patched it out.
That happened like 4 times with 4 different loopholes.
In the end it took months for players to figure out the trick, which was to mimic AV's usage of 2 hour abilities with their own 2 hour abilities (have to be very close to AV and activate them within 3 seconds of AV activating them), sealing them off, and dealing with his ridiculous regeneration.
As far as I recall, nobody ever defeated AV the "right" way and the devs just started leaving more loopholes in, until the level cap got raised to 99 and AV could just be brute-forced.

I think Maruyama may have been writing from personal experience when he introduced the shitty devs.

>Victim as a chapter name
No I was the first one who came up with that. Don't steal my credit

What is Sebas thinking?

>implying it means anything if you aren't the one who writes it

He's thinking how he need to get back to matepressing Tsuare.

>In the end it took months for players to figure out the trick
Years. Absolute Virtue was released in 2005 and it was still an enigma in 2008.
I'd believe it if he was an FFXI player.

He tortured the Sunlit scripture members and they told him about abnormally powerful beings: 8GK and 6GG stirring trouble in NW.
I bet he can 2+2.

Is 46133hp a lot?

I remember the incoherent and impotent rage of the players like it was yesterday
The worst shit was that there was literally nothing you could do

For level 75 characters and AV's regeneration, that's more than an hour's worth of work gone.

Ouch. Wasn't AV also the one where several players got hospitalized on account of playing so long?

Nazarick's very own God-kin when?

He already suspects the long lost "Gods" of being players. He just hasn't been able to verify any of the guesses or rumors.

Though I have no idea why doesn't even try to scry Theocracy or gather intelligence outside of what Kingdom & Empire can give him on them.

Probably plot reasons but still.

Why is Demiurge such a cutie?

He's wary of Theocracy.
Lack of players in Kingdom and Empire is confirmed, but Ainz paranoia about ST is strong.

I think some rotating team tried to fight it for over 30 hours. They failed. Without sealing Benediction, you'd need to kill it without it casting Benediction randomly (and it basically rolls a 15 sided die every minute with one side being Benediction). It's essentially invincible.
How some team got it down 46000 HP I will never know.

I'd complain about shitty devs but that is really how divine beings should be

Here's a better question; why is Demiurge looking at Sebas' rape face with such a cute smile?

Cause Demi knows that Sebas is up to some kinky shit.

Would Tsuare give birth to an egg or how would that work since he is dragonnewt? Would it be a 9month pregnancy till however long the egg has to hatch.

2 legged sheep know how how to breed. Maybe he could give a tip to sebas.

The womb belongs to a human so it should be fairly human-like with regular 9 month period.

>The womb belongs to a human
Wrong, the womb belongs to Sebas now.

...umm...

Well laid, user.

>"FUCKING HUMIES GET OUT OF MY NAZARICK! REEEEEEEEE"
>"MUH FRIENDS"

Vol.7 was fun

It was like that game Dungeon keeper

He never planned to let them go though.

It's funny because Ainz himself planned for them to invade the tomb.

>Ainz is playing Dungeon Keeper inside Nazarick
>outside it's Act Raiser 2 and being Momon

>Ainz
>Planning
>Not going "Umu" along with Demi plans

>Ainz
>Not planning for Demi to make plans
Ainz is the ultimate Keikaku master and master baiter as well and you know it.

>Implying my delusions is not the part of Ainz keikaku

He only went REEE after they mentioned his friends.

>Trailer of English dub

Ainz isn't bad, but god how did they mess up Albedo that badly. It doesn't suit her at all, she sounds like some teenage cheerleader

Or generic RTC voice advisor.

Friendly reminder that this guy is better warrior than Go Gin.

Not anymore.

Meh! I almost never watch dubs even though I want to. Every time I tried, the dubbed voices always felt too monotonous.

>Just found out his VA also did Jonathan Joestar

something about being headless

He did but it was going to be a generally merciful execution. He already determined they were all in it for the greed and not worthy of sparing, but there was no maliciousness in his trap.
He freaked out when the leader gave him a sparkle of hope.

Shhh, Entoma is sleeping.

Entoma, have you been eat Roachbro's subjects again?

How did you know?

translations when.

I assume when cha 19 lizards is out.

New thread

stop it, dad.

>not reading post before quoting
I expect you to get it yourself if you're not satisfied with what my laziness provided.

Yet you are telling people to post hr. I can't trust you anymore.

Yet you are expecting me to go out of my way for you while I already have a pic fine enough for me (until translation is done).
I can't trust you anymore either.
That's probably how it should be between anons though.
