Kare Kano's cunt of a mangaka threw a bitch fit and cried for Gainax to fire him. Anno ended up quitting on his own accord, but that completely fucked the production.

Nadia was too popular for Gainax to handle and when extra episodes were ordered, they had to outsource to Korea to give themselves time to work on the ending.

The second half of Kare Kano is a masterpiece.

Shin Godzilla has done great business and has received plenty of praise. It's Anno's most successful film, second highest grossing film in Japan for 2016, and the most successful Japanese Godzilla film in decades.

To the people here who may be scared away from Kare Kano due to everyone saying "the shitty second half", they are exaggerating. In two ways.

1. It's less far than half that was directed without Anno.
2. It's not as shitty as everyone say. And now that you know the story behind it it gets better because you can enjoy all the ways the studio shat on the mangaka.
