Hiyoko should have definitely lived. Her character had a lot of room to grow, I'd trade Souda or Akane or Sonia in a heartbeat. We literally didn't see her at all since she wasn't relevant to the plot in Zetsubou-hen, so I don't think it means anything.

Everyone Sonia interacted with died by the end barring Hajimeme. Even Akane was getting more general interactions in the end, her problem was that she got character develop during Chapter 4 and then immediately regressed at the fucking end of Chapter 4.

All in all I'm fine with most of the death choices though, barring Hiyoko for how blatantly rushed that aspect was.

So, finally we can say Danganronpa 3 in general was underwhelming. Not completely terrible, but neither side was as good as it really needed to be, with Despair being disappointing in what it revealed and Future being very, very poor in it's endgame. I don't see anyway for Hope to save it outright, might give it closure at least but as an ending to the Hope's Peak storyline this has fallen well short of the mark.

Ryota would have still got the video file from Tengan, it doesn't take much to put that together with a pile of dead FF members being found around the same time.
