My state doesn't require anything for a private sale, they just recommend you both have a copy of a bill of sale so there's proof it isn't stolen or anything, and recommend sellers only sell to people with valid CC permits. We also don't have any form of registration. So on paper/records I don't have any. Which I don't anymore because they all sank on boating trip.
