They're great, but both are very cute. If you hate cute things, you're not going to be happy. Hakumei to Mikochi has a very Non Non Biyori feel to it, except tiny adults in the woods, Mitsuboshi Colors I already loved when it was a manga, but it's funnier, more puns less scenery porn.

First off, I know we're not going to agree because the ED is CLEARLY superior (one of my favorite EDs in a while) but I don't know, the connection between the 2 main girls is exactly what I'm interested in, I honestly don't care all that much about the cult plot or any of that. I do like that it's exploring the rules of the world, and it absolutely still has the chance of ending up as a complete trainwreck, but I think it's either going to be a trainwreck or really good and I'm not bored with it either way. Not sure what else to say about it, maybe it's a taste thing.

Oh no, not at all. It's a terrible adaptation. Full on DEEN QUALITY. The Window Next Door adaptation where they didn't even bother animating the neighbor's face even during closeups of her talking was hilarious.

Slow Start is an super charming slice of life. the character interactions are really funny, the characters themselves are really interesting. For me, the most important part of a SoL anime is comedy, and Slow Start has nailed that perfectly. I don't think a single episode has failed to make me laugh at multiple points throughout the episode.
Unless you dislike comedy and SoL, there is absolutely no reason to skip out on this anime. Some other positives are the great animation, stellar voice acting, and nii-sama's fansubs

Good decision. Colors is just a good comedy anime. Animation is shabby in some spots but the writing makes up for it.

I didn't know there was a term for that, but I guess that is part of the appeal for me. I still have dreams dammit. I like the other 2 for the same reasons you said, although I find Yuru Camp a bit boring. Its like I don't look forward to it that much but when I do watch it I end up really liking it.

I haven't started watching neither Colors nor Yuru camp and I imagine they are both going to be better than Sora Yori, most of the episodes are pretty weak desu and the emotions either don't reach me or don't feel genuine to me, it's enjoyable but it's not the wonder people told me it was.

Soon I hope, with a different team than Colors hopefully. It deserves an A+ production. I think that since its 4koma it will give directors and animators a little more creative freedom and it could turn out really good with the right studio.

For reasons, I'm extremely distrustful of modern SoL anime, but Yuru Camp seems good enough. Slow Start definitely is not.

I'm still watching it but the emotions they tried to express in the first 4 episodes were a complete blunder, and the "violet is a autistic" gimmick for comedy wore off extremely quick, I liked episode 5 waaaaaaay more that than any of the others, it's definitly overhyped.

I'm watching Yuru Camp, Yorimoi and Evergarden and still the show I look forward the most is still DitF since it's just so much fun to watch it with Cred Forums, the fights are bland and most of the cast is extremely weak and but their interactions are great.

I'm in the very same boat. The show is slowly getting better but literally every character and every interaction that's not Violet has been better than Violet. Even her backstory is incredibly dull and the only interaction we've seen of her and Major is him dying and walking through the streets with her. Really makes it hard to give a shit when even the princess from ep 5 had more backstory with her love interest.

I've been ignoring anime almost completely the past couple months. The only thing I've been watching is Junji Ito. I'm enjoying it quite a lot. I watched the first episode of Pop Team Epic, but ditched it when the first ep of Junji Ito made me laugh more. The Soichi bits are hilarious.

I feel like Ito is underrated as a humorist. A lot of his stories I've found to be funny, rather than terrifying. Not in a "haha I'm too mature to be scared of this" kind of way. It feels like he's making fun of the audience, almost, and I think the anime captures this feeling. They're not playing it straight, because Ito doesn't play it straight, either.

Also watched the first episode of Slow Start because sold it really well but it's not for me. The character interactions felt really forced, like when the main character told the class her name in the most potato, bland, forgettable way and suddenly 3 people wanted to be her friend. Shit man, at least in Azumanga Daioh and Nichijou at least there were good reasons for the token loud classmate to approach the new chick. Slow Start just heavily relies on the cuteness of characters to amplify mundane moments, which is only effective on certain people. I know several people with shit taste who will appreciate this though, and will pass on the suggestion to them.

I just like everything about it. I really enjoy slow paced shows where almost nothing happens! The characters, the setting, the art, the music is all a homerun for me. Every episode is pretty much a self-contained story. It's a very, pardon the expression, comfy show to watch. I understand that it's not for everyone though.

Sora Yori is great. It's my second favorite show of the season and it has all the qualities I like about VEG. I just prefer VEG more.

There's nothing wrong with having multiple favorites in a season. "AOTS" is by no means an objective title because it's formed purely based on opinions, as proven by the fact that so many people consider different shows their AOTS and thus all AOTS threads are full of shitposting and wrong opinions.
It's perfectly possible for there to be multiple "bests" at the same time.

Koi Wa Amegari will easily be AoTS, while the story is a little too slow and the characters might be a little boring, the direction is amazing. Every scene is actually really well planned. Camera, ost, body language art, etc. The melancholic mood with explosions of happiness are great for the themes of depression and the way the characters try to deal with it.

So the only thing I got from this thread is that literally everybody hates Beatless.

The girls looked good and it had a promising premise. I don't hate it. I'm just disappointed.

I'll put it into perspective.
I didn't expect anything from the show and I still got disappointed.

I am really disappointed in Mitsuboshi colours, it feels flat and boring. I was positively surprised by the seven virtues anime, and especially by the miko anime.

Top three is definitely a mash-up between Colors, Yuru Camp, and maybe Darling though I might be more inclined to choose Colors because the three little brats are so fucking good. With Honorable Mentions going to KoiAme, SoraYori, and CCS.

The most pleasant surprise is Killing Bites. And well, I just like the Takagi-san and Junji Ito manga more so those get dropped. Beatless and Citrus are on the edge as well.
