new doom songs are sick as fuck, mate
Metal Gear Rising's ost in general
>in before endless generic orchestral/metal weebshit
Does 2009 count?
Unironically, the entire of Undertale. Say what you like about how overrated the rest of it is, the music was on point, probably raised it a lot in people's opinions.
Schizophrenia seems fucking terrifying.
THE WIND IS PUSHING ME
Douse Shinundakara
That Mario beep beep song for that flash
Depends on how you define 'recent', I guess. These are old listings.
NIER's soundtrack is GOAT.
Halo youtube.com
Hotline Miami
>JOOOO JOOO
>SHOOKA LOOKA JAGO
>JOGGA JOGGA JAWA
>SHUCKA SHUSSA SHAGO
Hotline Miami
Undertale
came here to post this, shitty fanbase and memes aside the game had some damn good music
What're you talking about?
While Hotline Miami's tracks have come to represent the game, they aren't original works.
dude who drew the op image was a deranged schizo
The artist in the OP.

Though it may not have been Schizophrenia. What the fuck was wrong with him seems scary as hell.
An entire 15 posts in with no mention of this?
It's music in a game.
Therefore, it's game music.
You're drawing an arbitrary line in the sand.
Halo 2 is from 2004
It is beautiful.
In a morbid sort of way. I mean there is still some semblance of comprehension in it, just in a distorted kind of way.
i think its neat in the sense that it depicts his gradual decent into madness
I can see that. It's very symmetrical. Looking at others with Schizophrenia who drew themselves or other things, it's veers over in creepy territory. Imagine looking at a cat and see that or looking at yourself thinking of yourself like this.
Payday2 and SMT4 spring to mind when it comes to this decade

that's some generic as fuck metal
OP said iconic.

I really wanna see what a schizos see. Though they are pitiful for they actually see what they see even though its not real. Must be really horrifying.
activision did the right when asking hans zimmer to composed the soundtrack for MW2
youtube.com
still my favorite
Is mario 64 considered old?
Nah it was done in fruity loops without touching a real instrument. It was generic as fuck
20 years old.
>You were a cat once! A CAT!
The only thing that comes to mind is this

I enjoyed the Furi soundtrack a lot, look it up, suits the game well
There's different elements to it. For some they experience hallucinations, either auditory or visual, others suffer from delusions, and other have really disorder thoughts and speech. While it's not as accurate as it could have and should have been, A Beautiful Mind was a depiction of the mathematician John Nash's struggle with Schizophrenia. And there's a couple of youtube videos that show what it's like for some people.
Drakengard 3 final rhythm boss theme.

It was iconic, catchy, made the game much better than it would otherwise be. No shit it was chiptunes, don't move the goalposts.

This might be cheating but I like the new DKCR soundtrack a lot

Danny Baranowsky makes some music that seems iconic to me I guess

There's always Firelink

The theme from NMH is often stuck in my head

The splatoon theme was also catchy as hell

But really it's a weird question because "iconic" seems to imply that the music stands the test of time as memorable, so recent yet iconic game music seems like a bit of an oxymoron imo
I think the thing about this that freaks me out the most is how you can sort of make out a cat in the second to last one if you try really hard but by the last it's just fucking gone.
>old game music, like Mario 64 themes,
But 1996 was yesterday?
>20 years
Sheit.
...
Shovel knight. Literally every song in the game is a masterpiece. Halo 2 soundtrack as well.
Is PS2 recent? This is one of my favorite vidya tracks ever.

also Snake Eater of course.
I don't know how recent you're talking about but...

Metal Gear Rising
RuneScape 3
Star Ocean 4
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIV
Pokemon X/Y
Nier

The whole game's soundtrack is great, honestly. I can live with psuedo-Vangelis music in my sci-fi game
