I'm trying to play MGS3 with an i5 (Ivy bridge) at 3.5Ghz and a fucking GTX 1080 and I still can't get it smooth, open-gl or not.

How do you fags do it?
I don't have a ps3 or 360, just a pc.

I thought we were the master race, how can we fail this badly?

A master gamer should have a few setups for gaming. Relying purely on PC makes me believe youre kind of casual

What graphical settings are you using?
Also turn off Post Processing for MGS3, causes slowdowns (or did a few months ago)

>Ivy bridge
There's your problem

Emulation requires better hardware than regular gaming. And you must be really shit at it too, I played it a week ago on 1080p with opengl and 60hz + widescreen fixes using an i5 4690k and a 1070

PS3's are dirt cheap. Just get one for the HD collection.

Goddamn it guys, so what is a good CPU for emulation.

Do I fall for the i7 meme?

Also this means I have to change my mobo and ram too.

Don't even start with that AMD shit either.

Even in cutscnes?

Give me your config sempai, pls

All the stuff I found on the net was outdated as shit

ITT: We laugh at OP

Laugh it up furball

Let your ridicule rain down upon me

Just help me play MGS3 as well (All I've got is MGSV and its just not doing the trick)

It's in here kek

...

Come back and finish the mgs3 remaster you lil' fuck

I already did all that shit, maybe my old cpu just isn't up to the task

Isn't that every thread?

Use preset 2 on emulation settings.
For opengl put blend on low, click on hacks or whatever, check align sprites then put 300 in both offset boxes.
Make sure your resolution isn't something crazy, I had mine at exactly 1920x1080.
And get the patches from the link in this video if you want to play at true 60 fps youtu.be/RGqr767K5dA

Thanks a bunch user, I'll give it a shot

just fucking burn the iso file and play it on a PS2
Holy shit
Or mod your ps2

OP has no idea what he's doing. You should have noticed this by now.

Also, a few cutscenes will crash the emulator. When that happens you'll just have to skip those and watch them on youtube if you care that much, there's no fix so far

>tfw Konami has not ported MGS HD Collection to PC yet
I own it on PS3 but I´d like to have it on PC/Steam as well

won't happen

>playing arguable the best MGS on emulator
Just kill yourself pkek. MGS5 on pc was a mistake.

>What graphical settings are you using?
The buggy one

What a thrill...

How did this get here I am not good with computer

The pcsx2 website doesn't work on internet explorer 7 pls hulp ;_ ;

Do do make torrents work, it gave me a .exe and I kept clicking it and all that heppen was my PC kept going blue pls hulp

Just kidding fuck you.

This would be fucking free money, why don't they do the thing

Gotcha, I played it back in the day but it was the OG release with the shit camera, so skipping a cutscene or two won't be a problem.

Is it specific ones or just randomly?
actually you've helped enough, I'll look it up

Thanks again.

There were like 5 or so, I remember the first crash happened after I got out of the cave and saw Sokolov

I tried to emulate it in pc too but I couldn't, and my ps2 died long ago. So I borrowed a PS2 to my uncle and played it. So go and borrow a ps2 to your uncle. That's the solution.

Sell your pc and buy New 3ds + MGS3 snake eater 3d. It's the definitive version.

Emulation always has and always will be a mess.
Don't bother. Buy a PS2. Best selling console ever so they are a dime a dozen.

I had the demo on my old 3DS before my GF handed me coffee and I spilled it everywhere like fucking micheal j fox.

Is the framerate still absolute shit?

Fuck, I want to play MGS3 on a 3GHz Sandy Bridge. Oh well.

the dolphin emulator is goat
then any other emulator before the gamecube and ps2 generation are good and stable too

Only the ps2 emulator is still a mess

I beat the ps2 version and sometimes the framerate is a total mess.
