If our design was good, then the end user's impression more or less matches our design. If our design was bad, then the end user's impression diverts from our design's intent in key ways. You don't need to know how something was designed to know why you like it, or don't like it, or think something else would be better in its place. It's your right as the end user to make those statements, and good development requires that feedback be made. We might not listen to every suggestion on how to make your dreams come true, but we'll at least know your dreams.

This doesn't apply for AAA, though, they use numbers as feedback.

I think he just uses the AVGN videos as a vessel for using his knowledge of cinematography, which is something he really likes, to create something which his fans like, which is the AVGN. So it's probably a win-win for him anyway; the AVGN videos likely have the highest production value out of anything he does, so he just goes nuts on them.
