That's why I don't like it. It's a thread killer whenever it's posted. Most people like characters from all the offshoots and going through every comparison takes hundreds of clicks.

I hate the way this franchise is going in terms of games, it's losing what made it special in the first place. Both CG and ML were boring, generic gacha games with bad gacha game mechanics that have no purpose beyond forcing the player to spend money to get more cards; the raising simulator aspects are virtually non-existent, the girls are given no depth because the format doesn't allow for any kind of significant characterization. SS is just a generic rhythm gacha game that caught up because it has good production values, but the actual quality of the experience isn't any better from Love Live's, T7S or Idolish 7. And the "main" games are going towards a bad place, with PS cutting down characterization and raising sim management elements while turning more and more into a glorified rhythm game.

The 765 idols all have different eyes in the games and Azusa for example has a longer face than most of the younger idols

CG has much better production values and presentation, but some of the ML girls have levels of characterization and uniqueness that you just don't see in CG. Sure, ML has its own bunch of one-note girls like Rio or Minako or "every idol game needs one of these" girls like Arisa but characters like Makabe, Momoko or Roco are extremely well-defined and rounded up.

I know everyone has a kneejerk reaction to shit on phone games but Starlight Stage got more love and work put into it than Platinum Stars and you get all that for free.
SS even got some songs that are pretty hard to full combo on master to keep me playing, unlike piss easy PS.

Girls like Anya, Kaede or Syuko are the reason I can't get into CG. Girls with extremely delicious designs but barely any character definition. Or girls that should be interesting like Syoko being mostly one-note joke characters. Or girls with well defined personalities that would be more likable without the obligatory dumb gimmick like Miku.
