They had a good game with the tribes ascend beta, it was really popular for a game of the sort. Release date came and they changed everything to appeal to an audience that wasn't interested in the first place, mostly casuals that didn't want to deal with learning the game's and weapon's mechanics. After that failure, they decided to make Smite to get into the moba market, letting tribes die off slowly, while copying everything from league or dota, with a third person view twist. And now Paladins is basically the new step into ripping off other games for a quick buck

Meaning if you manage to lose the point and hold for 2 minutes, enemy only gets 1/4 points. Basically it takes WAY too long for a game to finish and its SOOOO EASY. I haven't lost a single game despite not knowing what any of the available characters do and I was questioning how it was possible to lose at all.

There's no balance. You entire team could go damage and absolutely wreck. I wanted to play this with friends to show off how goofy the game was in comparison, but I can't even recommend this while playing drunk with friends. It's that boring.

I still would rather play it than Battleborn.

the one thing battleborn did right was single player and co-op missions.

i'd kill for just a PvE mode for Overwatch. Single player story missions would be great, but honestly it would be way too much work.

Nigga Torbs Sentry literally works by smacking it until it upgrades. It USED to take metal to upgrade it. Hell level three (ult) literally gets rockets. Mercy's heal works exactly like medics minus overheal.

I didn't say it was a bastion of original ideas, but they changed it enough that they felt like individuals.
Paladin's heroes work almost exactly the same and have the same abilities as OW heroes. A select few of OW heroes can be compared side-by-side with TF2 characters, but that's mostly because the way the TF2 characters work is the best way a character of their job works in these kinds of games. The medic's heal beam from TF2 was fucking ingenious, never before was healing so smooth and easy.

The game is first to four points. Capturing the point is one point, while pushing the payload successfully is another point. If the defenders stop a payload push, they get a point. You cannot win the game on defense, so you must win by capture or successful push. A 4-0 blowout only requires two capture/push cycles.

The characters don't exactly align 100% as copies of Overwatch characters (though some are really, really close) but they're all melting pots of things that have been done 10000 times before. Serious answer? Too many game modes. Conquest was too complex for casuals so instead of making them git gud they offered like 6 optional easier "fun" game modes that they all flocked to. Esports scene never really took off because more than half of the playerbase never played Conquest and don't care to watch tournaments where it's the only game mode. A shitty Esports scene in a MOBA pretty much means dead game.

TF2 is definitely "comfy," especially when compared to Overwatch. Nobody ever stops to smell the roses with that game. The thing is that comes at the cost of super serious gameplay like Overwatch has.
