Blizzard as it stands are setting up Two or Three races to be playable in the near future.

Naga (least probable)
Vry'kul (Various neutral/ friendly factions have just been put in specifically a small settlement near the costline you help fend the Naga off and they make you the new Jarl because of it.)
and Murlocs (Murky is being set up as the eventual ruler of tame intelligent Murlocs guided by King Mrgl Mrgl)

All of these would be a Neutral faction that would make their choice at the end of their leveling zone on which faction to join like the pandas.

if the Vry'Kul do become a race we'll get a new class called Runemasters because that shit is the ONLY kind of magic they specialize in other then Necromancy.

I dream of a WoW where character customization is more of a thing. Not just more hairs or faces but body types, animation options for idle/attacking. Even the ability to unlock oddball races through achievements. Or height modifiers through achievements.

I'd love to see massive tauren that could finally have Plainswalking again, but were locked out of using most mounts except dragon types. Or unlocking Klaxxi or those BC era fungus children.

There are long dead PvP games that had a more robust map rotation than this thing that's gone on for fifty-seven years.

Pandaria's story was some of the game's best storytelling the series has seen. No restraints on lore, they just told a Warcraft story.

Did you? At the end of the questline they all gather around the bonfire and explicitly name you the new jarl, hoping you'll lead them to greatness. There's not really much room for confusion.

Don't care too much about pandas, just barely enough to have a panda alt (since I tend to not make duplicate races on my alts if I can), but the expansion was good overall until the content drought.

I don't think a new race is coming for WoW. But they may be coming for Worlds of Warcraft, the sequel that's all about fighting alongside the Azeroth titan against the void lords with crazy space travel and planets like Argus and the worlds that the demons of the burning legion originated from.

Undead were set to be Horde (or at least Neutral playable) since TFT. IN RoC Sylvanas is a non hero banshee who is never acknowledged after her chapter. In TFT she's sundenly back, has a body, is a hero unit and is tied with Kel'Thuzard in relevance. She takes at least three capthers out of Arthas campaign just to estabilish a independent faction in Lodaeron, so people could play them in WoW.

I dont want new race. I want more variations to existing ones. Like brown orcs, amani like buffed trolls, tauren with antlers, red draenai, leper gnomes, dark iron dwarves with glowing eyes, more undead races to mix up etc.

Not to be a memester, but ogres seem like an obvious Horde option for me. There have been Horde-aligned ogre tribes since Vanilla. If you need a new Alliance race to counterbalance them, give the Alliance Vrykul or some shit; then both sides have a "Giant" race.

I'd assume they'd be neutral like Pandas? It's hard to imagine a plotline that forces them to pick a side.

If Gnomes can be a playable race after being genocided by fucking troggs of all things, I don't see why High Elves couldn't. They're just Blood Elves with blue eyes, though, which is probably a bigger issue than population.

At this point I'm honestly expecting subraces sooner than new races. Half of the races have pretty obvious subraces to pick from at this point.

I went back to Legion thinking I'd play it for a month and quit.
The leveling was okayish, I didn't really like the option to do any zone in any order, I liked going back to old zones for stuff like archeology or soemthing and not be bothered with enemies my level, but it's not an objectively bad feature.
I never was a raider so I don't know how the very endgame content compares, but when you hit max level, for a while there is tons of (mostly fun) stuff to do, which was the best time I had this exp

One thing I don't like is the artifact stuff, since I liked to level all my alts to max level and keep them somewhat geared up. Getting your artifact to a good level takes commitment.

Also, regarding Nightborn in the Alliance - I feel like their culture is too similar to Blood Elves for that to really work out from a interracial relations standpoint. Although that might make for a neat juxtaposition; having them just be the jerkasses of the Alliance.

Cataclysm was a very loosely themed "Azeroth gets rekt and the old world finally opens up entirely " expansion. Opening up places like Uldum and Grim Batol to the game. Having Gilneas open up and Kezan showed up were natural progressions of this, therefore, while their races didn't involve themselves in the story quite like Draenei and Belfs did (Though lower level Horde content got Azshara and at least one Goblin camp in STV, and Worgen got a battleground). They still thematically made sense.

If the next expansion is heavily about its theme like Legion (and at this point in the story is makes a lot of sense that we would have a heavily themed expansion, likely revolving around Azshara, The Void Lords, or depending on how the story in the Emerald Nightmare raid goes, The Dream. If thats the case it would be odd to include Ogres or Vrykul or really much of any race in those expansions. It'd be like if they added Demon Hunters in Pandaria.

Most I could see for a Void lord/Argus expac is that The Fel Hammer finds a displaced chunk of Outland with an Ogre population still surviving but barely holding out on it. And Odyn charging the Valajar with joining the Alliance

Furbolgs were always the Alliance counterpart. They could start in Hyjal/Moonglade, so no new asspulled random islands. They could be shamans and druids so no holy demons turned broken shamans and werewolves out of nothing. They were buff and a counterpart to Taurens and Ogres, so no said towering demons. They're just boring, but insanely lore friendly

Dwarves have pretty obvious lore friendly ones thanks to the Council of Three Hammers. Humans could get citizens from other human kingdoms, I guess, but Gilneas is already sort of that.

If Blizzard ever does anything with the Naga, expect it to be that. Blizzard ain't going to make any underwater zones ever again, and not raiding her capital just wouldn't make sense.

One of the current in-game Elf races will be re-skinned entirely and turned into a new playable Elf race. Remember this post in 2 years or however long it takes.

How many more expansions are the planning for the future?

Gnomes have Leper or Robo, and Dwarves have the three clans as well as potentially Frost or Earthen. Draenei could be Broken or reformed Eredar, obviously.

Undead could get non-human races or perhaps even spectral undead. I'm not as au fait with the Horde races, but you've got upright trolls, Fel orcs, various Goblin cartels, and Wretched Blood Elves to work with.

Now that I think about it, they could use the subraces as a way to create alternate starting experiences for higher level character creation, since the leveling experience is so broken (and honestly, there's too many of expansions of it to really work anyway without allowing skipping some of them). Say, instead of the normal Azuremyst start for a Draenei, an Eredar could have a DK-like starter zone before jumping into Legion content just 20 levels below the cap.

For the love of god, Blizzard, give us proper mantles like that for our own characters.

They need to pull back and refocus on Horde-Alliance conflict, and cut the existential epic-level threat bullshit.

Well, Humans and other races such as Night Elves, Worgen, Pandas, Tauren, Blood Elves, Draenei are - wherever they come from - basically always the same.
Unless you put in some lorewise unrealistic factors like half-machine gnomes or friendly eredar(evil draenei)

There's no reason why they couldn't reveal a new set of Broken Isles style lands that everyone knows about but we've just never been able to visit before and have some random plot. Or hell, travelling to other worlds now we're buttfucking the Legion and stealing their power. Plus we've got the Emerald Dream to drawn on, since it's canonically the same size as azeroth the raid will leave most of it untouched

Yeah it seems Void lords are the real big baddy behind the old gods and the entire reason that sargeras is trying to burn everything is to stop the Void Lords somehow. Etherals fight them, aren't like other races in terms of appearance, make sense for a neutral faction. Other than Naga it's the only likely race.

They will probably be the last boss and then they get into resurrect X character expansion packs.

New class will most likely be Shadow Hunter.

Shadow Hunter is one of the few class archetypes they have left that are already set in place in the game. Tons of NPCs/mobs and even Vol'jin was a shadow hunter so the lore is there.

Can easily make the shadow hunter a mail wearing ranged class, both of which are sorely needed as fuck.

Tinker/Mechanic could be a thing. Range Dps that also uses guns, but places Turrets instead of having a pet along with a Tank spec that utilizes Mechs

Yeah a tinker class is the other main one left. Specially with the changes to mekkatorque it definitely seems like they'll make a tinker class at some point.

Only other class archetype i can think of left is Blademaster but one that's melee which we have too much of and two, it'd be too similar to warrior and other shit.

We really do need a ranged dps that can heal. Only real issue I see with a tinker is that they would crossover with engineering and alchemy a lot. Like if engineers became a combat class basically.

Runemaster is one they were thinking about doing all the way back in WotLK but didn't. That could be another option.

Main restricted is it will almost definitely be ranged and will have the fit with the theme of whatever expac they release in.
