If you want my opinion though, it's boring as fuck.

Carbon is shit

How so? I heard that it uses FMV and extremely cheesy ones at that, so my interest was stoked.

Is the racing itself bad or something?

It uses FMV, yeah, but it's the "stereotypical dudebro" kind of cheesyness which I didn't enjoy at all.
As for the rest of the game, the problem is that, like NFSMW2012, it's extremely bland. The driving isn't exciting, the soundtrack is trash (though not as bad as NFSMW2012) and the overall atmosphere of the game is just so sterile. Like, there is not a single remarkable feature in the game.
At any rate, you've got 10 hours of trial on Origin, and I managed to beat 80% of the game in that time.

I bought it recently. The controls feel off. You can do turns while driving at 100+mph without slowing down. The graphics and the environment is brilliant though. It isn't 100% there, but I can see that Ghost are trying to at least bring NFS back from 6 feet under.

I beat blacklist 1 twice, my saves were corrupted both times

Same happens to me in emulators.
I start games, play a lot, then I get bored and go do something else. When I try to return the save file is corrupted. Unless I saved it in DVD.
Fuck my luck.
