the game was supposed to take place in a derelict disneyland with the enemies being half-broken down animontronics of characters from the theme parks and stuff like that, but Disney didn't want their park and characters presented in any kind of negative fashion so like the good AAA devs they were they saw the interesting and unique ideas that the designers had made and fucking torched them.
Its too safe for my liking. The Hive and Fallen are interesting enough but the Cabal and Taken were seriously underwhelming.
I haven't played it at all since like April.

Literally all of Bioshock. Maybe not so much the first one, but Bioshock Infinite is up there with Destiny and Epic Mickey in terms of concept art not matching the game.

Grimoire gives us a peak into how good the in game lore could have been but Destiny ultimately became a shell of what it was going to be.

I love Joseph Staten and I'm butthurt to this day that the Activision+Bungie merger fucked him out of giving us the Destiny we all wanted. I would have loved to see what the game would have been like had it not all gone to shit.
Hell, i have fun with it as it is, but I also acknowledge that it's hot garbage. Even if just the Grimoir content had made it into the game in some fashion, it would have been better.

Here is a much better example, both pics are male Charrs wearing the Scrapper gear. The concept art looks incredible and in the in game screenshot highlights exactly what is wrong with GW2 armor models. Floaty, badly proportioned armor pieces lazily mapped over the character model. 75% of all armor looks fucking terrible on the non-human races because they just map the armor model over the player model instead of building the set from the ground up for non-human player models. It fucking sucks.

In an earlier version of half-life 2 the resistance were supposed to be the remains of earths armed forces(including possibly the remains of the HECU from HL1)conscripted into the combines army(ranking below the metrocops).
Freeman actions(destroying a weather control station)would lead them and the rest of the citizens to revolt against the combine.
They were lead by Alyx's father captain vance who was later in production combined with Eli Maxwell to form the composite character eli vance.
If anonymous leaks are to be believed captain vance was supposed to have been the leader of the HECU from HL1 and adopted alyx as his daughter after he killed her mother during the black mesa cover-up(Hence why he's a different race then her.)
The conscripts were supposed to have AI simular to the security guards from HL1.
