Destiny's raids are actually really good, but they're really the only reason to play the game.

Grinding to get raid ready is a chore though.

the universe is really cool, but the game doesn't go into it, you have to read it in cards. It could be cool, but it's a huge missed opportunity.

The halo 1 storymode was trash, halo 2 was mostly good because muh online.

3 & reach were great, the single player co-op was actually good for once but free xp every game and no downranking online was fucking gay. Let's not get started on how bad jetpacking etc was.

We don't talk about ODST, and 4 was literally CoD with the halo name attached.

It's basically a Smash Bros machine for me at this point. And Smash4 is vastly inferior to Melee. I honestly wish I'd bought a PS3 instead for Guilty Gear Revelator and all the last gen games I missed out on. Wii U was an awful purchase. Ehh I'd say everything has changed because of the whole smartphone revolution crap. Consoles are slowly losing out, seeing as everyone has a PC now.

It used to be that consoles were a simple "plug and play on your TV!" alternative to "those complicated computernet things" but seeing as everyone has a PC now and TV is basically irrelevant at this point people are slowly switching to PC gaming.

Nintendo are making their consoles unique at least so they still have an advantage over PC. You can easily pick up an XB1 controller for PC and play any steam shit, you only miss the occasional (crap) exclusives.

I agree with everything you said, but again, given my experience with the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. I honestly don't see Nintendo having an edge over their competitors. On the contrary, they're definitely lagging behind both.

Good consoles need good games, not good exclusives, but good games, and sadly, the Wii U has very few. I know ALL current gen consoles are suffering from this, but unlike the Wii U, the other two still have a future.

I've been a Nintendo fan since 1993, almost exclusively in fact. The NES was my first system, and Nintendo is responsible for most of my childhood, but how they've abandoned their fans for casual appeal and other ventures, and how they handled these last two gens has killed all my faith in their products. I will NOT be getting the NX. Say what you want about Sony, but PlayStation systems always have MASSIVE libraries, with many many good games. This has been true 3x already, and PS4 seems to be headed that way as well. Nintendo used to compete by having extremely high quality exclusives that were must play, but we saw that dip in the Wii, and REALLY drop with the Wii U. As a longtime Nintendo fan, I honestly don't see the point continuing to support them, when they really don't know what they're doing anymore. Again, I just don't like what they've become. As far as I know, the Nintendo I grew up with is dead. It died when Iwata took over.

I remember I was incredibly disappointed when the game came out. The single player was short, devoid of the interesting parts of the story, missing a lot of content we were shown in trailers and the multiplayer was shit (still is, but I just ignore it now)

Then Vault of Glass hit and I changed my mind. That alone was good enough for me to forgive the game and say that I was excited enough to actually play it some more. The dark below was ok with a new raid, house of wolves was meh because no raid and TTK was good because it had a good raid.

I'd say yes, but you need to read cards that you unlock. Base game story shown in cutscenes and gameplay is far far worse than Halo, but the universe that gets created is really good, possibly better than Halo.

I liked video games all through school and I was nerdy, but I hid my power level pretty well and fit in really well.
I also managed to be fairly popular and the jocks and popular crowd were cool with me.

The point isn't to remove nerdy subcultures, it's to make people hide their powerlevels so we don't see 30 year old fat autists parading down the street in mlp t shirts with waifu pillows.
