I was PSP guy and I regretted it. I barely touched it.

The Sony handhelds had a few games catch my eye but seemed to have a weak library. So I stuck to Nintendo.

What else should I put on my 3DS/DS/GBA backlog?

I was a PSP guy, hands down.

DS just couldn't compete.

I'm planning on getting a Vita as soon as I can grab a good memory card for dirt cheap, it sucks there's no cheap third party memory cards like PSP had.

I own all of them, no PS4 till it gets something better than Bloodborne

DS, although I owned a PSP several times during that generation. Nobody ever taught me that hacking your PSP made it objectively better. PSP had great games, but the UMD format seriously held it back

I have both current handhelds and I honestly couldn't pick one. They both have excellent games and are good at doing different things

I never understood the appeal of DS. The hardware was so limited for what it can do and so was the software. Most of everyone I knew that had a DS bought one exclusively for Pokemon and Mario Kart, that's it.

When people found out you could install custom firmware on PSP, it blew the gates wide open. There was so much you could do with it, it was insane especially considering that PSP was only $20 more expensive than DS at the time.

I had both, I had more games on my DS growing up but I use my PSP more now since I've modded it.
Both are such fantastic systems.

Yes, and yes. There's a fairly good selection on all of them (even if the DS blows the others out of the water in quantity) and I see no reason not to pick them all up. The biggest concern really is the stupid Vita memory card pricing, especially with the large number of digital games on that system.

My first handheld is PSP, though I got in real late, end of 2012 with the no-internet Street model
Then I "had" to replace it after I tried to scratch something off, I think the film covering the screen started scratching off and me being the drunk genius I am decided to try and get under it and peel it off. With a screwdriver. Obviously scratchet the screen badly and then decided fuck it, and smashed the thing. Continues to be the first and only video game thing I've actually destroyed.
Vita OG I got when they started taking it off shelves of supermarkets around here, late 2013 cost a little over 100€ and later on scored a 30€ 32gb memory card, still a ripoff but better than MSRP

Was in a non-chain gamestore, saw a blue used 3DS for 90€
Later got a white XL brand new and retired blue as the back up if shit breaks
Traded the blue for ice white, of course paying like 30€ of difference because it's a video game store
Bought N3DS with MH4U when it came apparent it ran that little bit better and I didn't need that shitty addon anymore, got rid of ice white
Played TWEWY, Smash, KIU, other potential 3DS destroying games and retired the XL to be the back up while N3DS got promoted to primary.

End of blog and back on topic, I honestly like them both and choosing one would be hard.
Nintendo first party I don't care so much about, but then again Vita barely has any first party anymore
Vita gives me Atelier, Disgaea good versions, Muramasa good version with additional shit and some lower budget japanese games
3DS gives me MH, RF4, Etrian Odyssey and 3 good SMT games, possibly 4 with Apocalypse but we don't have that yet. I also liked Persona Q

In the end I imported a 2000 model and hacked it. Although PPSSPP got real big real fast just right after my purchase. But I don't regret it. Playing in bed with a real PSP in hands feels much better than emulating it in front of a PC.

I bought a PSP back in 2006, I barely played any games on them though I mostly used it to listen to music and watch porn. I bought a DS in July this year and I'm having a blast with it, I played more games on my DS in these 3 months than I did on my PSP since 2006.

Everyone was a DS guy. But i haven't used my DS since middle school and now i'm a psp guy.

Started with a DS and after I played everything on the DS worth playing I moved onto the PSP. Same for the 3DS and Vita.

In the US, maybe. Here, in Slavland, Nintendo had and still has almost zero presence. For most people it was just Dendy (a Famicom clone) then PS1 and finally PC. Some kids had Mega Drive or much rarer SNES, but PSP was pretty much the only handheld that was somewhat known here.

When I first saw psp I wanted it, I never wated any electronic toy like psp. Not even ps1, though it was first time I saw 3D graphic on and was blown away by it.
Of course I got and thanks for time killer it was, I think it was my the best purchase.
For vita/ds/3ds, I'm not into weeb stuff, so I don't even want any for it.

Which genres do you like?

I don't play any of them anymore but back in the day I was a definitely a DS guy. I even got a PSP but got bored of it after a few months.

RPGs, mostly. Strategy games in general.

PSP until I got a DS. Recently spent some time repairing and setting up PSP to emulate though.

Currently on 3DSxl and will probably get a vita when they drop more in price and there's more emulation.

had ds, then got psp, i wasnt mature enough to enjoy the games on psp so when 3ds caem around i got that, then i was to mature or old to enjoy most of the games on that, then i picked up a pstv and now am revisting all the old games on ps1 and psp that i wasnt mature enough to enjoy.

DS just didn't have anything that could compete with Peace Walker or Ys Seven, and Monster Hunter and Etrian Odyssey are pretty much all I need on 3DS

i had both but the sad thing about the psp was the best thing about it was hacking it to play nintendo games. i also got hundreds of hours in dissidia but not everyone is a huge FF fag like me

when they were new I was a Ds lite kiond of guy but now I own all four

and I end up using my vita more now

i have a vita/vita tv, love it.

Never had a DS, but still use my PSP to emulate the R-Type games. So I guess I'm a PSP guy.

I got my DS after it was massively discounted.

I had a PSP for a good while before my younger relatives got orange soda in it. Though I eventually got another one later on and still have it. Didn't get a DS until I got back into Pokemon back in 2012.

As far as now, I'm a 3DS AND Vita guy.
