The only good Playstation D-Pad was on Vita because it was tight, responsive, and easily handled diagonals. All their designs before that were shit to use compared to the other first party controllers available. DS4 tried to rectify the faults despite regressing from the Vita's wonderful design yet it again has difficulties handling the diagonals.
