I'm excited as fuck that they revamped almost every single minigame for 6. It's a breath of fresh air. I know they did it for 5 with the MCs getting their own exclusive minigame, but it feels good to get some more minigames.

That baseball one looks to be addicting as fuck. Might be one of my favorites alongside that Sodachi Dojo thing you did with Saejima in 4.

Same. Kiryu has been great. They really took a leap of faith and it has paid dividends for them and the fans. Akiyama or Saejima is a good choice, yet I do like Akiyama as a supporting character. He is god-tier wingman material.

Akiyama is a huge fan favorite, I'd be fine with him taking over. I'd prefer they keep it as a multi-protagonist game if they can though. Having at least 2 guys makes the game feel a lot better to play.

At this point if 0 doesn't sell well we could truly see the last of the yakuza localizations. They've already gone out on a limb, if it doesn't meet what they want then they can easily shut it down.

That being said I think 6 has a moderately decent chance of being greenlit because its a numbered sequel on current gen tech, rather than 0's sidestory/prequel.
Don't be naive, it took literal years of fan outcry to get 5 and 0 in the west, nothing is certain beyond that. Saying "we got them all anyway" is woefully optimistic when it was such a hard fight to get the last few. Remember that if Sony didn't foot the bill and play to peoples hearts we wouldn't have gotten either of them. With them footing the bill, that's it. If it isn't up to snuff they are done.

Kiryu & Haruka getting the happy ending they deserve but probably won't get and then moving onto protag Akiyama would be cool.

They've really gotta revamp his moveset a bit though, I feel, in 5 it felt really weak compared to everyone elses at the endgame. They should incorporate some of Zero Kiryu's boxer style and Zero Majime's dancer style into it maybe (+ a general damage buff)

If Kiryu has to die in 6, how would you want his death to go down?

1. Sudden and shocking:steps out of elevator gets shot in the head, player is left in shock, or gets shot from behind at some point when no one is expecting it.

2.One man army: fights his away through a huge army of armed thugs, gets shot, stabbed and beaten multiple times in the process, but takes down a bunch of people with him. Eventually bleeds out from his wounds or gives up his life in a heroic sacrifice sort of way.

3. Offscreen death: Story ends with Kiryu's death either never being confirmed or it ends in a way that the player knows that he doesn't have long to live (think MGS4).

I think 2 seems like the only appropriate one, I wouldn't want it any other way. What does everyone else think?

You have to actually win the fight you pussy.
Cutscene has Kiryu collapsing to wounds.
Character controls swaps to Majima in a long battle to let you get used to Muhjima before fighting the big bad.

Hey, not bad. I could see that working pretty well with making the player actually have to kill Kiryu themselves. It would make for one hell of a boss fight too. Would be kind of hard to beat him with all the tears in my eyes though.

As your spoiler pointed out, this would be the worst of all. We know that with him still being alive, the devs couldn't resist bringing him back for another game. I was able to tolerate this sort of thing in 3 and 5, but if they pull this again, I just wont care about Kiryu's fate anymore. If this is really the end of Kiryu's story, then he either needs to die, or he has to end up in a way that's impossible for him to take part in any future games (ends up a cripple, or a huge time skip where he's an old man being taken care of by Haruka and her children).

This would make for a great alternate joke ending, and an awesome way to announce Dead Souls 2 being in development.

In other news, this series has given a lot to its fans. It's continually grown in scope and production values. While we may not agree on how ridiculous the story has gotten since 3, the growth and relationships with long-standing characters throughout the series is really something to behold, not to mention the great gameplay improvements with each installment. It remains to be seen how 6 feels in terms of combat, though.

It's kind of odd how Dead Souls gave you so much freedom in where you could aim, but then all the later games went back to the classic auto lock on "just mash the button" shooting style. I think being able to target enemy limbs could lead to some fun combat scenarios.
