I mean i really enjoyed it playing like that. On my second playtrough i went lethal and high chaos, i finished the game in like 3 hours and felt meh.

The powers made the game too easy, because the difficulty was ruined in the first place. Read some of the dev diaries from back then, they removed a ton of stuff because the retarded testers couldn't figure out shit, and you had to not resort to powers and mod it to experience a sense of challenge in this game.

This game was meant to be everything I wanted it to be, but it's still Bethesda publishing.

It's a well-known fact user. The most famous one is the Lady Boyle assassination mission, where testers ran around for hours because they couldn't get upstairs, as the guard in front of the stairs said "sorry, you can't go upstairs". They also cut the witches in the DLC from the main game where they originally were, because testers found it impossible to get past them, considering they teleport during patrol. They also cut the choking minigame, in which the guy being choked could defend himself. A remnant of it can be found if you interrupt the choking. Also guardsnever look up- there's a commented out option in the config files to have them look up again, along with plenty other disabled things, hinting at a previous higher difficulty, and many comments along the lines of "TOO HARD" or "makes game challenging if activated".

I know Dishonored 1 got a lot of flack on Cred Forums for many things but it was actually one of my favorite games because you didn't have to kill anyone. It constantly felt like a throwback to Deus Ex. You could damn enemies without even laying a hand on anyone if you were skilled enough. I enjoyed doing all the little side events and watching all the dominoes fall as your foes are prosecuted by the justice system that they helped build.
