FUCK you if you don't know what I'm talking about, hide the thread
1) WHY? WHY DID SHE EVEN DO IT???? She didn't say anything about some troubled past or why she started all the destruction!
2) Did that even happen? It leans on it actually happening, but they don't SHOW THE OUTSIDE REEEEEEEEE
3) Was it really being broadcast? So was it just random people outside watching?
4) What the FUCK kind of ending and story was THAT? I guessed that she wasn't lying when she mentioned guns shooting outside. you can literally see the turrets there, AND the huge ass gate, but how in the world did she and her sister just pull a Tokyo Terror by themselves?
5)Is there any bonus in replays? Anything else besides the first play through? I screenshoted alot of scenes for nothing, there was a gallery to buy with medals
Jordan Wilson
If you're looking for a well-planned and meticulous story, just drop danganronpa right now
Evan Peterson
I JUST finished it NOW
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Zachary Ortiz
stop with the shitty memes
Carson Cook
The second game and the anime that's airing right now go into more depth. But like said, it's not exactly Shakespeare. Not everything is explained thoroughly and a lot of 'anime logic' is applied
Camden Hernandez
It's the same kind of shitposting as Battle Royale, extended over an interactive VN's length.
Lowest common denominator stupidity with some good female character designs, literally good for porn and nothing else
Robert Watson
Which give more details?
Is the sequel in English, fan translated or otherwise?
Gabriel Clark
>1) WHY? >WHY DID SHE EVEN DO IT???? She didn't say anything about some troubled past or why she started all the destruction!
Danganronpa Zero explains it I don;t think it's much of a spoiler but i'll mark it anyway
in case you wanted to read it yourself
ok, here we go
She was just born crazy
yeah that's it
she was born full of despair and got bored with life
Bentley Lee
BRAIN HACK DESPAIR
James Diaz
>but how in the world did she and her sister just pull a Tokyo Terror by themselves? With the power of MIND HACK
Zachary Morales
that's pretty lame, this franchise is a little overrated
Caleb Adams
>WHY DID SHE EVEN DO IT???? Because she could
Noah Perry
Oh, and unless you want to get spoiled on the rest of the series you're gonna want to get the fuck out of here OP
finish the series in this order
Danganronpa 2 (at least play this one before bailing on the series, shit's crazy town) Danganronpa Zero Danganronpa AE Danganronpa 3 (anime), watch the episodes in broadcast order
then come back here
Samuel Watson
its anime and filled with wacky quirky shit like pink blood and wacky executions, its not objectively good by any stretch but the suspense and trials are usually pretty fun and it has suprisingly interesting world building
Isaiah Lee
Danganronpa does the overarching story poorly. You're supposed to play it for the cases and the character interactions, something I think the second game does a lot better. I wasn't that impressed with the first game, but the second one is one of my favorite story-driven games. Now get out before you get spoiled.
Asher Carter
Everyone loves the caracters mostly, and Super Danganronpa 2 are way more better
Liam Gomez
>shit's crazy town Crazier than APOCALYPTIC uguu kawaii girl????
Not even 999 made the kawaii girl THAT overpowered and insane
I CANNOT be in more despair than I am now
Xavier Kelly
>that's pretty lame, this franchise is a little overrated I don't know how overrated it is. In Cred Forums we make fun of the writing constantly.
Ryan Edwards
If you're looking for a villain with actual motives and proper exposition, Danganronpa is not the place to go.
Here's all the motives and backstory anyone ever gets for Junko: Because despair.
Julian Wood
Not in that way
I meant regarding characters or at least one in specific
trust me, and the other anons who recommend 2 in this very topic, get the fuck out of here until you at least play through Danganronpa 2
Carter Ross
it's like the user edgy fantasy
>i could be a great leader, i have charisma, i have looks, im cool, i could destroy the world if i want... but i like to post memes and being fat
Liam Johnson
In order: 1: Because she wanted EVERYONE to fall into dispair. Really, that's it. For the evilulz. 2: The outside world is really fucked up now. 3: Evidently, yes. As to who specifically was watching, the ultimate dispairs. 4: Hypnosis via anime. Really, there was an Ultimate who could animate so well, that anyone who watched it would break out into tears, this was caused by images that could manipulate brain waves.
Ryder Russell
Yeah you really have to ignore the overall plot. If you just boil it down to watching cute characters in murder mysteries it's fine.
Everything about Junko and worldwide DESPAIR is beyond retarded but it is what it is. There's no real reason for it to happen but it's really just a backdrop in the good games at least.
Camden Rivera
Just play DR for the murder cases. Those are fun
Ayden Butler
>trials
>this franchise is overrated
>NONSTOP DEBATE NONSTOP DEBATE
Camden Watson
I don't think anyone, not even the most die hard dangaronpa fan, would argue that Junko is a good main villain. The twist is absurd enough to work for the first game, but besides the twist itself there's no meat to her character at all.
The fact that she comes back for DR2 as the main villain is inexcusably retarded though. An AI Izuru or something along those lines could have been a much better choice, and its baffling why Junko comes back.
Logan Carter
>it's a VN climax reaction episode these are my favorite threads on any board
I live for these
Gabriel Allen
Personally, I prefer IF's story over DR1
Bentley Brooks
Dangan Ronpa games have quite disappointing underlying plots, there's no big satisfying reveals explaining why everything that transpired actually makes a lot of sense in some grand scale of things like 999 or Ghost Trick, nope, just lol I did it because I'm evil.
You should only play the games for the character interactions and drama, plus the actual murder cases. If you liked those parts then the second game is even better in that regard. Just don't expect anything stellar in terms of the main plot.
Jackson Sanders
I read IF, excepting it to be as good if not better than DR Zero based on the praises of Mukuro fags, and was sorely disappointed. I always thought it should have just been short stories from Mukuro's perspective of the events from DR1 if she had never died in chapter one and instead continued to pretend to be Junko.
Grayson Robinson
I love her It's refreshing to have vilains who are a giant middle finger to the player and do it simply for laughs
Nathan Murphy
Play the 2nd game.
Gabriel Cooper
MUH DESPAIR
Nathan Edwards
Why don't people like villains who are just assholes? Look at Frieza, he's just a jerk who wants to be immortal and rule the galaxy, he's not a complex dude, he's just a dick Don't underestimate the power of despair
Cameron White
I'm not gonna argue that she's not a fun villain, but she's not really well written. The fact that she's so fucking insane and retarded it mindbreaks the main cast of DR1 and 2 just by actively telling them how crazy things actually are is fun though.
Parker Cox
>FUCK you if you don't know what I'm talking about, hide the thread but everyone already know about it, you secondary
Evan Johnson
Gay man should have let him commit suicide
Carson Morales
>Why don't people like villains who are just assholes?
Because we're tired of the answer to the big mystery in every game being "It was Junko all along"
Danganronpa 3 might change this up though with the implication that the latest killing game was planned well before Junko even acted and AE's claim that true ultimate despair is in FF
Colton Clark
She did it for the lulz. Really, that's the meme explanation for that meme game, whether you like it or not. The second game is shittons better though and the new anime explains how everything got fucked
Ryder Roberts
Fun fact: Makoto looked infinitely better in the game's beta than in the final release.
Lincoln Flores
>getting this bothered by the first game
Don't even bother play the sequels.
James Sanchez
Junko is the natural evolution of characters like Joker, and Kefka She's not omly successful on her quest to bring about the apocalypse but literally derives bliss from causing despair in people and even on herself She successfully mindbroke herself from despairgasming too hard and then kept escalating
Noah Harris
a lot of the characters did
Mason Miller
Hes still pretty beta though
Ayden Evans
Nah dude, the sequel is incredibly grounded and realistic, without needlessly convoluting the plot whatsoever.
(Just kidding, but I still think both Danganronpa games were good as fuck no matter how farfetched they got.)
Eli Carter
SHSL Luck can't die She's gonna appear in Mirai again snd you know it Not to mention we saw her in action in Zetsubou, and I loved it >bombing the highway, eye removal, random gaurd murders, killing game/tsubasa wo kudasai AMV, mindbreak through anime, mindbreak through direct brain manipulation, mindbreak through opening the closet, mindbreak through livestream, death maze now with 1000% more despair
Jayden Clark
The only good thing about the games is solving murder cases. The whole plot is fucking retarded
Nathaniel Taylor
She was a fake-out main villain though. Hajime turned out to be the villain kinda, and then she hijacked the story AGAIN out of nowhere by announcing her plan to "Junko-fy" all of mankind.
We're never getting off her wild ride.
Elijah Russell
>She's gonna appear in Mirai again snd you know it
Yeah, probably
but I have HOPE
>Hajime turned out to be the villain kinda
He's done literally nothing wrong We never even got confirmation that he's the one who uploaded the AI
Benjamin Scott
he looked way to agresive, makoto's always been a chill nigga, Im ok with this change
Sebastian Kelly
Hajime should have ended up being a full villain >AI Izuru instead of Junko >The final Nonstop Debate, PTA, and Rebuttal being actual debates of Hajime convincing Izuru that he's wrong instead of just spamming one truth bullet >Shutdown sequence and ending monolgue from Izuru >Leading to the final scene when Izuru looks off at the boat and says he wants to remain Hajime It would have been a better climax than Hajime just shouting down everything Junko said with FUTURE
Sebastian Parker
We'll know in a week I guess This, Makoto needs to look inoffensive and cute
Justin Phillips
She just got bitter and disillusioned with life. The problem was that she was so good at making people like her, they both compounded each other, and she spread it to everyone else. Shes like an event horizon of misery.
Hudson Williams
I think Nagito would be a sick antagonist, especially considering he would fit "villian with empathizable motives" perfectly, which is absolutely the highest tier level of villian (a villian that could be argued was morally right instead of just pure evil Junko.)
