Got done with the sphinx part and started maxing out priest for mc in order to get him to paladin eventually.

This game is the crack yo

Okay so this is just getting weird. I can't figure out what counts as a job level. I just got done with the Desert Colossus and didn't gain any job levels when fighting some monsters near my level. Then I decided to experiment and went to Haven, using the monster tablet full of slimes. Still wasn't getting job levels, so I tried the monster tablet full of drakeslimes. Drakeslimes are still obviously way weaker than the Batboons and vile viles in the desert, yet I was getting job levels off them.

So I guess if you get stalled on job levels, you need to use tablets. All the more reason to rush that DLC.

What level is your overall party?

I've been to engrossed with leveling vocations to advance the plot.

It depends on your level and the map. What you fight in a map is irrelevant. The tablets have higher level caps than their monster difficulties so dont try and use that as a standard.

Your problem is that you grinded too many levels

>At the Magician vs Sword kingdom arc
>Level 33 and none of my jobs are advancing
Fuckkkkkkkkkk. I have one more star until my MC maxes Paladin and unlocks Champion or whatever the Paladin and Gladiator class is

Level 22 for Hero and Mariblel. Level 20 for Ruff.

>Your problem is that you grinded too many levels

I realize that. But I should be gaining levels when I continue the story. Its gonna get really bad if I have to go 3 story arcs after AllTrades Abbey before I start learning jobs again. So instead, I'm going to grind the drakeslime monster tablet for a while to catch up.

Do levels reset when I change vocation?

I'm in the Gracos dungeon. I remember someone saying that you can get Melvin right after this. Does anyone know how to do this? I also heard that you can miss this or get it really late so I want to do this as soon as possible.

No.

Your base level stays the same. You have a 'class' level between 1 and 8. 8 stars (gold stars) is the maximum. You can see this in attributes under the main menu.

>Set Maribel to "fight wisely"
>Uses bang on one target

>all these yes or no questions that don't really matter and sometimes loop until you say yes
I kinda like it but at the same time, what's the point?

Any tips on defeating the demon boss in Magicians vs warriors island? or should i just grind?

Flavor

Some of them actually trigger unique events if you say the 'bad' option. Also, your hero can become a real dick with some of the choices.

>I think Nava has become evil. Should we join up with Zed to save her?
>No.

>Maribel is sleeping soundly. It looks like she won't wake up soon.
>Kick the bed?
>Yes.

Does anyone happen to know the max level of the Drake Slime tablet? I'm wondering if at level 25 I can still use it to grind jobs but gain less exp than nailblighters

I don't know. I'm only level 22 but I'm using that tablet. Are you still getting jobs at level 24?

I'm in regen stein and I've clicked the whole damn town and still can't find a secret passage

The old man doesnt give a clue
The past segments didn't give a clue
It won't let me leave
It won't let me go back to bed

I kicked Maribel's bed, she deserves it.

Nevermind I just tested it and my level 24 Ruff got a point for killing Drake Slimes but level 25 Hero and maribel didn't so it looks like 25 is the cutoff for that one, Nailblighters it is for me

Read the note on the bookshelf in the house where the guy crumbled away.

>bookshelf
What the fuck, they add a million of these in every house and only 1 does something

You literally can't even activate finding the secret spot in the dark until you read the book
You can't even understand the writing because it's in gibberish

I just got to the Alltrade Abbey, don't know which class to choose/change the MC.

Make him a Paladin.

And what do you know it's a fucking dead end on both sides

This game has been with story hints and leading you what to do up until now
This is bullshit

You have to get to a high place and use the angel's tears, the old guy told you this when he gave you them

what class must I play first to unlock it?
It's my first visit.

>Less HP and Resilience than Gladiator
Wha da fuk mayn

honestly, best advice is to get some nice lv2 vocations up
at that point of the game, 3 islands should be available to at once, and that island is definitely the hardest, see if you can do others

I got to the top and used them but it said nothing happened

Try moving around up there. I think this one the prompt pops up automatically.

Did you approach the edge of the stone and press A? I think that's how you do it

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT YOU HAVE TO TALK TO THE OLD MAN IN ORDER FOR THE ITEM TO TRIGGER
you can't just go up there and use it, you have to back track and let him let you

You can't find the secret base on your own you have to read a book in order for the game to let you find it

That's complete bullshit

I didn't actually expect them to do it

I'm level 13 on robot island, am I too OP? The bosses went down easy.

Can you have monsters on your team? I know you could in several of the other DQ games

Git gud.

Or you can just follow the story and realize what a game trigger is. Not just try and run through the game as fast as possible.

I only just got vocations and want to ask, should my end goal just be making everyone a hero class? Basically from I can tell hero is the perfect no flaw class that makes anyone a complet god of death. It doesn't make the game too easy does it? So far I feel the game is on the easy side but still throws a nice curveball every once in a while.

You gain monster hearts and then your team members turn into monsters. Right now, I have Ruff going down the healslime path and he turns into an actual healslime.

How does the vocation work?

Druid/Summoner = Magic Classes, basically an advance version of Sage
Godhand = Attack classes, advanced version of Paladin
Hero = All rounder

IIRC only the main character can go hero. I think thats how it was in the others

Anyone can.

Yes you should try to get everyone to the hero class but unless you grind you will probably not get hero before the final boss

I talked to the man on 2 occasions , by the well and by the fire
And the one that triggers is a third time by the well again
That's just pants on head retarded

I watched the cutscenes thinking a clue was in them but it wasn't
What was even dumber than that was the man by the bar. You walk in and it isn't even a bar anymore. What the fuck

That had nothing to do with skill
Any guide will say find the secret passage by using the clues in the cutscenes
It doesn't tell you to examine a book shelf because Lord knows you've passed a bunch in the game without them doing damn nothing

press "b", Keifer gives a clue

Keifer Just left how much farther till I unlock classes?

>Did you hear that Arus? This dock is the property of just one man. Oh it makes my blood boil to see such inequality, we would never allow it back on Pilchard Bay!

As if she wasn't unlikeable enough, Maribel is now a socialist.

Hope she's not a forced love interest.

Square Enix just showed off DQ Builders. Anyone excited about that. I can't wait to play it!

Next story arc. But still many hours away.

I want to play it. But I don't have a PS4.

Thanks man the journey continues

Its the next island you go to, though you'll be solving their problem for a few hours before it.

>Anyone excited about that.
Yeah, I played the JP demo, it's great.

Just mopped the floor with the bandits, Kabuff, Multiheal and Lightning.

As soon as you get to Alltrades Abbey. Make sure to spend a long time planning out your classes before you choose!

Already at Advanced Vocations for the main 3 and just now did the time loop. I have no life.

Thanks guys no clue what im gonna go for first, Priest has buff doesnt it? may try to get everyone that

I downloaded it from the Japanese PSN. Pretty fun, but the combat is terrible and makes me dread any missions that involve it.

Does someone have list of all Residents that gives you tablets yet?

Is there a list somewhere of what monster classes learn? I have a few hearts besides slimes i could get skills out of like a walking corpse on

About how many hours in until you get Mervyn?

dragonquest7.nintendo.com/quick-start/#alltrades-28

Had this in the background, rarely used it. But I am at the point where I need to pick classes, but the from this point (28) I have yet to any of the things, do I get dropped to the Peridition after I chose classes?

Also, usually I plan out the classes quite rigisously, but now I am torn.

Where is Bulgio? I just left Grondal and someone said he's going to his Primo Palazzo. Where is that?

I already bought it, but should I even play this one as my first? I have the other ones, if that matters.
Also, why is the framerate so choppy? Is the Jap version like this?

Just choose any random class. Good luck

I've played for a few hours, but does the game eventually stops making me do everything twice It's starting to get really annoying.

I like that everyone in the other realm speaks in an Irish accent.

Its quare craic, hi.

Yo anyone found the correct job path for every character yet?

What?

I wouldn't play this one as your first because the first few hours of the game really test your patience.

Try IV, V, or VIII first.
If you want to play one with a class system instead, try III, VI, or IX although III and IX pretty much use blank slates for your entire party so they'll never say anything.

What the fuck am I supposed to do after finishing Hubble + Providence? Why the fuck won't the guy at the shrine of mysteries tell give me a hint? It must be so obvious since no one in my party or the hint guy has remarked on where to go next but I've been stuck for 2 days now.

The correct jobs to give characters up to hero so you don't fuck up their stats.

I want to start playing so badly. I bought the game Day 1 but I'm still trying to finish V first. I'm really loving V so far too, but my time is limited and you all make VII sound so fun.

30ish

>First time you can fight as a monster
>First time

Bullshit, DQVI, had the dragon and liquid metal slime classes

You can't mess up stats. Leveling vocations just teaches your characters abilities/spells from those classes.

You don't gain extra stats with vocations. Just make them anything you want.

Wish it would get a Steam release. I recall them saying Heroes on Steam was to test the PC market for DQ. I'm guessing it didn't sell well.

V is worth finishing. Keep at it, user.

I will level them up through everything then

>visit dungeon in the present
>find chest, open it, and take the treasure
>go into the past to the same dungeon
>chest is somehow open and empty

>don't have PS4
>doesn't work on PSTV
No fun for me, I guess.

there was a list on yesterday's thread but it was nuked for some reason, anyone know where the guy's for haven's island are hiding out?

are they actually monster's that turned into humans or are they just disguised as humans to blend in towns?

It's been like 150 years, bro. Someone got it after you first visited, and then someone else refilled it for you to grab in the future. Simple.

You do gain stats with vocations. But it's in percentage based on your base stats.

Yeah but that's just boosts while you're in that class, right? They were talking about permanent increases on level up based on your class.

In the present heighanddreigh tower, how do you get to the top level?

The kid is not there to unlock the door.

>open chest in the past and get item
>go to same chest in the present and there's another item

Go to the basement and defeat the king slime.

I want to rub Ruff's belly

game is downloading now, what am i in for?

>what am i in for?
Dragon quest VII

You filthy ass goomans.
kill yourself.

He's not until post-game isn't he?

Around 21 hours in at the desert island, having a lot of fun so far. According to the activity log I've surpassed my playtime for Joker 2 already (though I never did get to any of the post-game stuff).

Which reminds me, here's hoping this game sells well enough to get a Joker 3 Professional localization...

Absolutely lewd user.

>You can be a son of a shepherd

You get him before the halfway mark.

What are you talking about?

>Unlock Return to Slimetree Forest
>That tablet boss
Jesus fuck, it was annoying, all my Hatchet Man kept missing.

Also, what the hell, I've managed to use Animal Magnetism like 3 goddamn times in a row and killed two metal slimes, but I still couldn't recruit a single one. Do I need to sell my soul to Satan to pull it off?

When and where can I find the guy that watches over the monster farm or whatever so that I can finally send monsters for more tablets

More like Ruff can be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

When selecting a tablet thing to go to, I noticed slimetree had been marked with a gold icon, but none of the others I've cleared have gotten that. Do you just have to kill enough stuff?

>Hit it with Hatchet Man twice
>It dies

I got lucky and killed it in 3 turns this way

Just got to vocation island. Do the character's base class have more skills I might not have yet? 14/15/11 for the party.

I already got past the part where you go back in time. I didn't really mind it that much.
Would you still say I should just play a different one?

>Just got to vocation island.
Ask again in 3 hours.

>He doesn't know

So when they eventually remake this what do you hope they improve upon?

Ayyy

I assume i can master healus from this, should i have gabo pick it up or wait for melvin?

Online multiplayer.

I'll be happy with a graphical upgrade. Improve grottos and sharing.

>just got to the Vocation Island
RIP

your party actually says things

Convince me to play this game

Is it just a bland&boring turn-based JRPG?

Or is it like Etrian Odyssey, where you need to make use of defensive classes, support spells, status ailments, etc

Let's settle this Cred Forums

strawpoll.me/11274880

The latter. DQ has always made use of buffs and debuffs, they're extremely useful.

So I just got the 3 downloadable tablets from the Haven bar. Is this what people meant when they mentioned limited-time-only free DLC (until the ~31st)?

>DQIX remake in the same style as DQXI
>loads of new content
>party characters can now have personalities and will comment on everything
>full online capabilities, can play with your friends
>Japan only

No its boring and we actually all hate the game.

Turn based goodness at its finest, now fuck off.

No

Apply this to DQ III and IX

>no option for your own name

>three fucking hours on this tiny ass island

It's a standard turn based JRPG. That's why so many people like it.

I know your name is Buttqueef.

And how is it in terms of customization? Are there many classes, subclasses, and whatever else?

I never played etrian oddysey but even in CRPGS your party actually feels alive even though they were all custom characters. just add some flavor text and shit, the ones in IX feel like they don't exist outside of combat

It's a simple, fun, lighthearted RPG. Nowhere near the level of difficulty and complexity (and frustration) as EO.

30 classes, all with their own spells and abilities (though some are shared).

There are lots of classes. Plus monster classes which let you customize your characters to a larger extent.

Really? The protag has a canon name?
Do all Dragon Quest games have this? I'm already 5 hours in. FUUUUCK!

Do not bully me.

Just got to Krage, or whatever they're calling it now, the place with the big tree,

Running three golems at the moment, still a fantastic class for how early you can get it.

You can change your name at Alltrades Abby.

Are the monster hearts single use?

I just got to modern day Greenthumb Gardens/Wilted Heart and seem to have done all I can there, yet I'm a fragment or two short of unlocking any new islands and Fortune Tellers/the alien dude don't have any guidance to offer. What am I missing? I explored the convent, the Greenthumb ruins and Wilted Heart and thought I found all the tablets to find there.

Yes, but you can swim in them through tablet dungeons.

Is there really canon names, though? I thought all DQ protags were just supposed be generic self inserts for Japanese people.

Yes, they all have an actual name. Except IX's, for obvious reasons.

No we just made those names up as a meme

You know, in DQ III your characters had personalities, and even had unique dialogue based on those personalities at certain parts of the game.

DQ IX was a noticeable downgrade in that regard; they handled the party members much worse when what they should have done was improve on DQ III's system.

Open the menu, go to info. There's a fragment option there that tells you where they are.

No, hero of I, II, V, VI, and VII have true names. Abel and Arus and those names just come from stuff like manga which isn't canon.

At any time, you can go into the Info section in your menu and get hints on the next shards.

That said.

1. animal town in the present, check the shops
2. robot castle in the present, check the dungeon
3&4. the cave near greenthumb in the past
5. ruins of greenthumb in the present

*no true name

They already remade it. Its called Dragon Quest X. And you'll never ever get to play it.

All joking aside, Dragon Quest X really was the game Dragon Quest IX should have been. Full 1080p graphics reminiscent of Dragon Quest VIII. Dedicated online. Full multiplayer even during the main story. Better coop dungeons and mini games. Better story. Bigger, beautiful world to explore. Etc.

"Abel", as you say, has a canon name as of DQVI, with the fungeon.

DQ1: Alef
DQ2: Allen
DQ3: Erdrick
DQ4: Solo/Sofia depending
DQ5: Madison
DQ6: Patrick
DQ7: Arus/Auster
DQ8: Eight(expect this to change to something better)
DQ9: Nain

>Erdrick
Loto, you fucking faggot

>Arus/Auster
Why two names?

5 is Madason.

Loto is the old name, Erdrick is correct.

Arus is the old translation's name. Shouldn't be accounted for anymore considering the new translation tends to follow the Japanese references a lot closer.

Arus was the PS1 name, Auster was the 3DS name.

I'm naming him Arus in my game because Auster sounds autistic.

>lost 4 hours of gameplay accidentally

its going bad man

Now i need to leave the thread because nobody ever spoilers shit right

Madason appears in-game, Loto/Erdrick is a title that you can't actually pick, but what about the others? And what the fuck is with Eight and Nain? Epecially Nain, is there any constellation with that name?

Also, 6 is Reck, that's from the Dragon Quest 8 arcade game.

If you don't imagine DQIII hero as a little shota with a MILF harem for a party, you're doing it wrong.

Delet this.

CD theater for the most part.

IV and VI had theirs on the game boxart.

Oh, that's good to know. Whenever I get to a new place I talk to everyone and check everything so I couldn't figure out where I could have missed something. Thanks

>little boy starts crying that Pike stole his candies twice now
>"stop being such a pussy and steal your sweets right back!"
This Kiefer nigga knows what's up

How Pike keeps getting away with his shit I don't know

Are Monsters good to have in your party? I absolutely love these little assholes and just sent one to the meadows.

So when does Wind Sickles stop being your best general attack to spam

Lewd Hero with three Sexy companions is almost optimal, but is made obsolete by the fact that you can just have a Sexy Hero.

Ladies get way better equipment in DQ3 anyways.

When you master Monster Masher and get all these ridiculous breath attacks.

You can't have monsters in your party, but you can't obtain items called hearts that let you take a monster vocation (AKA Slime and such)

I do not know if you can obtain that lil fella's heart tho

Having a Lewd hero is pretty much the same thing. Like a 5% drop in 2 stats and they have to equip male gear. Which if you only have one party member who is male, they get all that good gear. And they'll be using the legendary equipment at the end anyway, which is unisex.

DQIII is also not that hard of a game anyway.

No heart, according to the big book of beasts.

Ah gotcha, I thought I saw something about having a monster as a party member my bad thanks.

It's completely unreal how much they buffed that class in this version. Fucking level 3 breath attacks on an intermediate human class. Plus the utility you carry over from Shepherd and Thief.

Sadly you can't get those guys.

What's the matter, not going to post your shitty strawpoll links and General Thread Copypasta?

Enough with the porn.

Calm down.

I didn't realize the big book of beasts said that

I bet the best monster heart is some metal slime or so, right?

What's the best monster class chain to get Kazing on someone?

>you eat the heart of monsters to become monsters yourselves
That's some hardcore shit

Lewd is significantly worse, 65% lower in total.

I don't think you realize just how OP Sexy is.

I know the best defensive class in VI was Liquid metal slime. I assume it's the same here.

That OP got banned i think.

Should I give Patrick the Wooden Doll? Do I miss something further on if do?

Yeah, I remember those certificates being a bitch to get

Holy shit, you are so wrong it hurts.

But I want to fulfill my fantasies of being a little shota who pounds MILFs every night.

Listen to this man.

Platinum King is the best, they're immune to basically everything.

In general though, monster classes are much better than human classes. Especially now that the skills you learn in advanced human classes can't be carried over to other classes.

For endgame you probably want all your characters as monsters, unless you really like the costumes the human classes give you.

>Ladies get way better equipment in DQ3 anyways.

>winning the 6th battle in alltrades abbey with hero and maribel dead, ruff 4 hp left
If only Zev's attack didn't crit often I wouldn't be winning this shit.

Then you'll spend the next 5 or so leveling vocations.

I'm not the /vg/fag. The polls and such meant nothing. I will post more Maribel though.

Yes. Else it just rots in your inventory.

Anything substantial added to the 3ds version?

The Sacred Bikini is certainly an excellent piece of equipment, but the real gamechanger is the Light Dress. Best defense in the game, heavy resistance to all magic, usable by all classes, female only. Nothing the guys get can compare.

I downloaded the 3 tablets at the bar. Is there any indication of what level you should be when you do them? I placed one and pretty much got one shotted.

Jesus Christ, this prologue is long
They could've at least let me fight a bear or something if slimes and monsters don't exist

Wow with that emissary in the magic town. He put my whole party to sleep. I don't know how the fuck did I get out of that

Does anyone have a full list of all the Zoom-able locations? I've completed the automaton island, both past and present, and neither the castle nor the town of Frobisher are showing up on my Zoom list. I keep feeling like something's fucked and I don't like it.

You should be able to Zoom to present Faraday

>Prologue is long
Be glad that it's changed from the original then.

Only the castle is Zoom-able there.

You can only Zoom to the castle.
In theory just going inside the castle should be enough fo that

What is better, Multiheal or Hustle?

Pour all seeds into Hero or is there any character that really wants a certain type of seed?

Hustle Dance is free, but Multiheal heals more, so it's really a matter of whether you've got MP to spare or not.

The changes to the prologue are kind of strange. They kept all of the running back and forth between towns, but removed the cool puzzle dungeon. I wish they had done the opposite, seeing the ruins in full 3D would have been amazing. And jogging between towns was a bit more of a hassle with the new overworld.

Well I'm considering putting Healslime on Maribel who is already a master Druid. That said, Ruff is a Hero and will get Omniheal so it's not that necessary I guess. I suppose it'd be best to leave Maribel as is and wait for some of the endgame hearts like Woe Priest of PKJ.

Honestly, I liked the original dungeon. They could have sprinkled a bit of lore around and made it a bit less tedious. I also miss going up to the podiums myself to place the fragments.

Thanks, gents. Looks like I do indeed have Faraday in my zoom list, so I guess nothing's fucked. That's a relief.

Grotto

>I downloaded the 3 tablets at the bar.
You fucking what?

Is there DLC?

If you're looking for a more magic focused monster class, you might try Rainbow Peacock instead of Woe Priest. Better agility and randomly reflects breath attacks. Plus, you can technically access is right after you get to Alltrades, whereas Woe Priest will require some farming.

Does that mean the monsters turned human you send to the Haven all are human hearts?

I had more trouble with the arena than with the next boss.

Well my issue is monster hearts never drop for me, I killed over 1000 slimes to get my base vocations up and I got 0. I'd rather go through the game than grind then.

>make Maribel a sage raises her agility
>make her a Martial Artist raises her agility even more
>Martial Artist who can cast multiheal and full heal at the start of the turn

Yes the monster tablets you use at present day Regenstein.

Where do I download this DLC.

Uh. Did you start the monster park? In the DLC tablet room, there's a portal on the right that leads to the monster park, where you get the monster munchies. Hearts don't drop until you do that.

If you've been grinding vocations in Slimetree Forest you should have 99 slime hearts easily, they drop almost every battle.

That said, the real way to get early hearts is by doing Lucky Panel near Alltrades in the present.

Why are Boomrangs more useful than Swords?

"Enter by statue, make a cross"
What?

Because both Ruff and the hero can equip it, and that's broiken as shit, early on.

At the bar in present day Regenstein after recruiting 3 town members.

Download bar,

Should have figured there was some dumb trigger to it. Thanks.

Enter left, go out right.
Enter top, go out down

Did it literally 5 before you told me, thanks anyway

Why does the game take an hour to encounter the first monster?

It's a pain to find I had trouble with it too. Look right above the tree on the dirt

Boomerangs hit all enemies on the screen while Swords can only hit one enemy at a time (unless you have a skill that changes that).

Basically, if you're fighting mobs with 3 or more enemies, Boomerangs will be more economical and lower the number of turns you need to take.

Gotta couple of Qs my dudes.
1) Where do I use the Tombola Ticket
2) When can I access the dlc without getting thrashed
3) Where should I grind jobs now that I'm over 20?

Because Boomerangs are Australia origin.

That's why we are here.

Beware of the shady guy.

>42 mini medals
>still can't use them

Sorry to be a dumbass but how many stars should there be to master a class?

8. You'll know because your stars will turn gold.

8

>Melvin joins
>He's Level 19 with no job classes

Can I take him to slime forest?

What are the requirements for this? I went back in there and there's still nobody to watch the meadows and the old guy has nothing new to say

So a few questions. I'm here at the Casino in Pilgrim's Rest and have like 30,000 tokens (hit 4 7's). Do these tokens carry over to the other casino? Also, should I grind the card game to get a cloak of evasion? I have loads of War Hammers, Full Plates, and such from it but I can't seem to win the game with the cloaks. Maribel and Ruff are using the armor from the casino token exchange that reduces magic damage.

Oh shit there is a 2nd casino?

As long as you grab the Munchies off the table, you can start catching monsters and getting heart drops.

You can't actually develop the monster park or make custom tablets until several regions later, after you beat a dragon on top of a tower.

So is V a good starting point for the series? I've never played any of the games aside from like 15 minutes of a copy of IX that a friend had, and after asking a couple friends they pointed me towards V as a must play.

I don't know if they changed the name but I thought there was a Casino in Coastal. At least that's what I remember from Dragon Warrior VII on PS1.

The thing about DQ is that none of the mainline games do anything crazy, they're all very similar at their core, so really any of them would be good to start with, except like II

Personally I'd call V the best game in the series

V on snes was my first, I adored it and ended up beating it in four days since I became obsessed. Go for it.

Don't do too much Lucky Panel stuff until the present, it has better rewards. You can get a Magical Skirt for Maribel, and Heavy Armor for Hero+Ruff, both of which are miles and miles better than the cloaks of evasion or those robes you can buy with tokens.

Tokens do carry over to the second and third casinos, but 30000 isn't actually that much when you get there.

You can buy cloak of evasion for 3k gold in next town. Might be better to save the tokens for other things.

ppl on v are obsessed with V. I love V but 7 is best man.

How do Lucky Panel works? Do you have to pair all cards to get items?

>30000 isn't actually that much when you get there.
I planned to get enough tokens that I could just grind the slot machine while watching a movie or something. It's what I did when I hit four 7's and when I got Raine's outfit in Tales of Symphonia.

Awesome. War Hammers alone sell for like 6k so I'm set I guess.

Yeah. Have to clear the whole grid or else you don't get anything. It's why I don't have a cloak of evasion yet.

Well, you can't blame them, it's the best one out of the Zenithian trilogy.

>Finally get the Mini Medal palace
>If you've gotten every mini medal up to this point you have 45, which is exactly enough for the very first reward and nothing else

Hoo boy

Yep. The remake changed it so now all cards have items on them, so you get loads of stuff incredibly easily.

Just a tip for everyone, start by revealing the bottom row. The Shuffle and Extra panels are weighted towards being on the bottom, and you want to reveal those with your initial six.

> lucky panel in the present

I didn't think about that, what all is new on there?

Monster Hearts are one big thing, which means you can pretty easily do a monster class only game. If you're diligent, you can get open up classes like Golem, Well Wisher, Sky Devil, Rosevine, even Rainbow Peacock.

You can also get some equipment that almost lasts until endgame, the Magical Skirt is probably the biggest example of that.

Everyone else is like level 24-26

Alright. For REAL, this time.
WHAT are the canon names for the Dragon Quest protagonists?

The name you give them

Yuusha

I'm at Alltrades right now, how long until Aishe and Mervyn join?

Mervyn in 3-4 regions, Aishe like 2-3 after that.

There's a pretty tough region right before you get Mervyn though, so don't put off leveling you classes until you get him or anything.

DICKS

Hiro.

I'm only at the second island. How long until I get classes?

Combat is only starting to become better now that Maribel has a whip.

Where do you change your name in Alltrades Abbey? Is it in the present only?

"I sense the presence of a tablet in the Temple Palace... It can be found at the end of a hidden passageway"
?????

...

I was confused too, you have to go back to the past.

Hahahaha a very long time friend. About 15 hours or so

Shut up Buddha. Don't make me get up on that cloud. That's it, where's my glasses.

Ahhh, i see. Thanks bro

Where is the tablet at Pilgrim's Perdition?

You mean Wetlock and Gracos? I didn't really find any trouble with that region. I just got Mervyn and now I'm going through that tower again in the present.

Just laying there, after you complete the Alltrade Abbey.

>tfw Volgograd
Figures that the Russian island is the shittiest one.

Don't bother, you won't be able to get it right away.

Also

>fighting Cardinal Sin
>doing great for the most part
>don't have any Yggdrasil Leaves equipped
>Hero dies
>the fight is won the next turn
>didn't save between the Arena fights and Cardinal Sin

Goddamnit. I had to the that entire section over again.

Should I make Ruff a Thief or Sailor?

Thief then Shepherd and go Monster Masher.

Theif. Sailor is for the Hero.

This. You'll be one-shotting things forever, with the breath attacks.

>2 matches left with 1 turn
>get the palm
>lose

>winning saw blade and other op items in casin
I feel like cheating.

The only ones that I know for sure are Solo and Sophia for the Male and Female versions of IV's hero.
Another thing I know for sure is that people will tell you Loto/Erdrick for III, but that's actualy a title, and not the character's name.

mine:
>fighting cardinal sin
>doing okay until mid battle
>a bit overwhelmed, but can still attack in the middle of healing
>loli priest did a critical attack for 230 damage
>he died

Why does npc characters seem to have high critical rate?

I got the War Hammer from the casino and then immediately removed it after Alltrades.

>it makes a difference if you just run straight to the ruins after getting the tablet piece, or if you go get Kiefer first
On one hand the former was funnier and it gets me out of this damn prologue faster, on the other the other gives me more party chat dialogue from chatting with the townsfolk

Boys, I have to ask. Remember that cowardly group of swindlers in dai no daibouken? were they the main characters of any DQ game?

Just got to the desert part in the past.
After a few hours of slimetree grinding,
>Maxed Mage, Priest, Warrior, Martial Artist, Sailor and Thief on the MC so he can become a Pirate, Armamentalist, Pally and Hero
>Maxed Mage, Priest, Dancer, Troubadour and Dancer on Maribel so she can go Luminary -> Sage -> Druid
>Maxed Shepard, Thief, Warrior, Martial Artist and Priest on Gabo so he can become a Monster Masher, a Gladiator, a Paladin and eventually a Hero as well (or maybe a Champion, IDK yet).

I really didn't feel like grinding base vocations later in the game so I cleared it early on.

Nope

thanks

Yeah I did that too grinded all base vocations I kick ass now.

>at Level 19 for Hero and Maribel and 18 for Ruff
>know I'll have to stop grinding soon

welp

Grinding some beginning vocations at the moment, should I just stick to grinding at the slime tablet dungeon?

No they were just a parody of the DQ3 classes.

Just use another tablet like the drakeslime one, which has a cap of level 25.

But once you hit level 24 or so, you should stop grinding anyway. You'll be too far ahead of the story.

How many vocations left? Are you only grinding base ones?
If you were grinding the slimetree map, you should'nt have any problem. I grinded 5-6 vocations per character at level 18 and never gained a level. Unless you just started at 19, but I think you'll be safe.
Unless ofc you're planning on grinding intermediate/advanced vocations.
In the worst case use the drakeslime tablet.

If you're under lvl 20, then yes, slime tablet dungeon is the best place to grind.

I've never played a Dragonquest game before so I'm going to ask is this a straight jrpg or does it have some weird gimmick to it?

I just got out of Alltrades. Everyone is at ******* for their first new vocation however.

I'm only 5 minutes into the game. Going to try to finish Earthbound first.

It has a gimmick of being shit.

My MC and Maribel are level 20, but I just changed the vocation for the first time like about half an hour ago. Am I too high level for the Slime tablets? Does this mean I grinded too much?

Since it is the establishment of JRPGs, it is as straight as you can get. Though not generic. Its done far more original things than something like Mother or Pokemon for example.

you've reached the level cap for the dungeon and possibly for the next area in the story depending on where you are

I just beat the skeleton squire, got the seal of sands, now I have no idea what to do.
When I party chat on the world map, Maribel suggests we go to the river shore, but when I go to the river shore, the party chat just says "the snake should be around here," but there's nothing around.

I had just finished the long dungeon of the Alltrade abbey.

Show the seal around town.

the level cap for the next area is level 21 and apparently it'll go up by 1 for every area after

Level cap for the slime tablet you were given is 20. Go recruit more human monsters (I was able to recruit about 5 at that time) and each one will give you a new tablet. You can also get 3 new tablets through the online feature (which appears when you have 3 or more human monsters in Haven).

Most people are leveling off the drakeslime tablet which has a cap of level 25. Yet the enemies are only around level 15 so you can clear them in 1-2 turns. I just got done doing that and I already have all three characters almost maxed on their first intermediate classes (Pirate, Sage and Monster Masher).

I might have not paid attention but when do they say that in the game?

Get the mermaid moon as part of the story. Go back to the present. Near south fardale castle is a island that appearedearlier when you dsaved the Abby. (Bonus island 2 for 1for saving all trades). Man there will give you a flying carpet in exchange for mermaid moon stone. Use carpet to find Meryvn.

They don't tell you level caps. You have to figure it out on your own by using the person in alltrades abbey who tells you how many battles it takes to progress. If you go to see her and she says 52 battles, then go to an area, fight a couple battles, then return and she still says 52 battles, then you're not leveling up. Using this process, people are finding estimates for the cut off for certain monster tablets (like 20 for slime and 25 for Drakeslime).

It gets even more complicated when you go to the actual story islands. Suffice to say, try not to grind your main levels too fast.

Calm down man. Yeah DQ is a very static linear series. You have to hit flags before it will let you do jack shit.

When are the level caps removed? I can't remember in the PSX, but I think Disc 2 already had no cap.

>finally got abilities for Hero

TWENTY HOURS IN AND HE'S NO LONGER A BORING SHITBOX.

I don't know if they get removed. Don't think anyone is that far into the game yet.

>Fobishner village
>Kid hitting dead robot talking about how it took his dad
>Come back to the town after it got attacked
>Girl hitting it now saying it took her baby brother
>Two coffins in the room

Holy shit this is dark

dumb frogposter

Supposedly you can remove level cap on monster tablets by leveling them up, though idk when will it be available.

Do the appearances of your characters change when their jobs change?

Yes

...

>in game model is much uglier

>automaton drops an iron axe

Oh fuck this thing is off the hook. How rare was that drop?

So do you guys grind for the characters ultimate class as soon as you can? For example I realize now I could potentially grind so my hero can achieve the hero class but I wonder if that would be pointless and make me stupidly overpowered. Should I just advance classes naturally or grind un your opinion?

>. All the more reason to rush that DLC.
? what?

I don't because I'm impatient as fuck.

I would, because it only becomes harder and mandatory later. In fact, I think the some of the first fights after you can change vocations assume you've leveled one or two jobs for new abilities.

If you like challenge, then don't grind all the way final tier classes. Just level up some classes to get useful skills, and then change to the class you like, and continue the story. If what people said that the game is 80-100 hours long is true, then you still have plenty of time to level up your classes later.

>DQ3: Erdrick
Erdrick is the western butcher of the name originally. Loto is the canon name.

OK awesome.

I might have to pick this up on the odd chance I can ever curb my addiction to Rune Factory 4.

Unless you want to be OP, just master a few classes like Priest or other basic classes and advance the other classes naturally. At the very least don't grind straight into intermediate classes as soon as you unlock them unless you want to steamroll shit like crazy

Is there a guide for what ckasses each character should master or at least which base classes a character should master?

What's the difference between Champion and Gladiator?

I grinded until my characters got their first intermediate class, then just continued the story.

>characters still won't level up after three story arcs

>mfw Maribel's ultimate in battle road victory was fucking springboarding off of Mervyn to escape a magma staff fuck up leaving him behind

...

...

>In Dragon Quest V, you are not the hero and someone else takes the role
>In Dragon Quest VII, you are the hero and you take the role from someone else

Its like Poetry.

At what level does maribel learn bang?

Take it from someone else? How do you take the role of hero? I assume this must be lategame spoilers

Just came back to Frobisher after the attack to save
Coffins everywhere
A soldier below the church crying over his dead friend

My heart hurts

Pretty low. Like level 12. Don't remember exactly, but I think I was on the volcano island.

I'd bang Maribel at any level

Just got a Healslime Heart. Should I give it to Gabo or Maribel?

Yeah, you'll see later in the game. Another guy is considered the 'hero', but really you are.

Level four.

Where's the kid secret base in the city with the stone people?

You only carry over skills from base classes and monster classes. The best classes to finally stop in are monster classes. So, in a way, mastering any intermediate or master level human classes is pointless.

That said, it's much, much easier to master human classes, and taking the quick route to Champion/Hero gives you more than enough power to plow through most of the game.

But if you want to be optimal, don't bother with intermediate or master level human classes; focus on grabbing up any skills you want from base classes and gather up monster hearts via Lucky Panel.

You are literally retarded.

I gave it to Gabo since I was going Priest/Sage for Maribel already. Also because I'm having Gabo do all the monster classes.

Gabo. Where did you get it?

Gabo, lasting multiheal goes great with his speed and gives him a reason to use mp, Maribel should be going for Sage anyways so she'll get multiheal that way.

Talk to the glittering people
The guy by the bar will die and you enter the house
Read the book on the shelf
Then check by the tree directly left of the graffiti left by the kid

I think Ragnar's is my favorite, simply because Healie is such a bad-ass.

>that part where you have to play solo as Mervyn and go through two dungeons filled with high level enemies
Switching him to sage right before I last used him was a mistake.

Yeah I noticed that since I hit level 20, my MC is stuck a lv3 thief class and Maribel as a Cleric, but Ruff still get class level because he's level 18 but has level 5 of Spepherd.

There's one in a chest in the town east of Alltrades Abbey. The town where you're given a magic carpet

Just a quick note for everyone who doesn't know. There is DLC in this game and you have to find monster to take to the Haven to get it, and they are only available for awhile unless you streetpass. So don't forget to open up that bar in the Haven and get that shit fast!

How do you open the bar?

...

Thanks for helping

Gotta find 3 reformed monsters out in the world an it opens up.

It gave me trouble this morning and there's no guide on it

>what could possibly go wrong!

How fucked am I?

Hero is a Godhand
Maribel is Sage
Gabo is a... Monster Masher, Sage too, and now I am going to have him master paladin. Then gonna have him go into hero.
Grandpa is a Warrior and I'm going to turn him into a gladiator.

I'm on magic kingdom island and i'm afraid what happens if i lose maribel

So is it viable to go from fighter>warrior>dragoon>priest>paladin>Godhand by the end of the game for the hero? Or should I go straight for the hero class instead of godhand

Keifer is the only party member you lose permanently.

The fastest way to Hero is via Godhand.

You can have both godhand and hero. Make your hero into both gladiator and paladin and you have 2 out of 3 intermediate classes you need for Hero. Then any random third intermediate class you want (I chose Pirate).

How do hybrid skills work? Do they transfer over to other classes?

So when does Ruff get a shield better than the Kitty Shield? I'm up to the town with the clock tower and I played the Lucky Panel game until I got everything as far as I know and I still haven't found a better shield that he could actually equip

hybrid skills aren't in the 3DS version
in the case of the PSX version, yes, they do carry over

>My husband is so lazy
>Maribel flat out says to leave him
>the lady agrees

A long, long time. He's got like 2 better shields in the entire game, and one of those is the best shield period.

Where the fuck is the whirlpool?

>that ruff

>it's a get screwed over by a shuffle card right at the last second episode

I just reached Alltrades Abby before that fake priest did a 180 how long until I can get revenge on him?

You have no idea how far the rabbit hole goes. Enjoy the ride.

Hours
Enjoy hell

After Zev runs off from Alltrades am I free to go?

So many fucken metal slimes now @Cielo

Man I love how Maribel's face is always blushing.

>find man who can talk to animals
Wut. This is bullshit

Ho ho ho Want a hint?

>not exploring every island fully

I just got to this part and I'm pretty sure one of my party chats said to check Estard.

>took time to post message in DQ thread
>'Want hint?'
Yes, goddammit

To be fair the place he needs to be in early game is empty and no NPC is present

>Hint Lumberjacks

What does Hate Mail do?

I'm too scared to equip it because of the description.

When am I able to reclass? Just did the whole thing with Ruff being able to speak, and I'm looking for more pieces so I can progress the plot.
Are Shepherd and Priest good classes?

This game is so amazing fug.

Well I'll be goddamned. Spent all my mp fighting and getting to the automaton dictator and come to find out theres another boss after him which tanks all my hits

No revive items in this damn game and medicines count for 1 single slot in item select
I'm also level 12 for each class so I doubt it should have wiped out my party

So what's the online features for this? I know you can streetpass to share tablets, but there's no tablets you can only get from online are there? It's not going to be another DQ9 where they shut it down later and then there's a chunk of content you can only get from modding your save, is it?

Do do do do do do...dun dede dun.

It's the woodcutter to the left of MC's hometown.

>chunk of content lost forever
Still hurts, comrade

When u return u just got defeat the last boss.

You can still get it by modding your save thankfully.

Where the fuck am I supposed to go to get this medicine for the guy in Greenthumb? Am I supposed to go talk to Pamela in the present?

>read this post
>instantly heard the curse jingle in my head
jesus christ that is frightening

Also forgot, when does Kiefer leave? I wish he would actually stay in my party, he's my favorite of the 4 so far.

Nope, I have to rebattle the dictator

At least FF puts save spots and rest spots in their dungeons

>lack the tools or knowledge to mod data
Enjoy the full game for both of us, comrade

...

>At least FF puts save spots and rest spots in their dungeons

Sometimes*

Just use Sap holy shit dude, its an easy fight. You've got two boomerangs right?

Boomerang on hero
Whip on marribel

There's a save editor available at woodus.
Of course, that assumes you're playing a rom, rather than an actual card. I mean, there are ways to extract and import saves to a card, but that's just more work.

>Pamela in the present

You can also use Action Replay codes, really simple in an emulator.

Just emulate it or put it on a flashcard and use the save edit program to give yourself the stuff. It's actually very simple.

>Carraway cucks himself and leaves Greenthumb gardens to live a wife without bitches holding him back
>Lavender ended up marrying Dill but from the looks of things it wasn't very happy since Greenthumb gardens went to ruins and she had her body buried next to Carraway's

Maribel will say she knows everyone in Estard and none of them can talk to animals. And she's right. Look elsewhere.

You guys are making playing the game for enjoyment very difficult. Ive not played this one before and im no where close to the job stuff. I come in here and see nothing but vocation this, level grind that, you overleveled and are fucked etc. Should I just stop right now or is it all not nearly as complicated as you make it seem because it seems overwhelming.

You can play the whole game just going at the pace of the story. The guys here talking about overleveling are just talking about how to use the optional tablets to grind classes early.

How does this inn thing work? Nintendo's site says some content is only accessible until the end of the month

Is there only one casino in the present? I'm trying to find a monster/human npc because a lady monster/human at the Haven says he hides in a big pot in a casino.

coming from playing DQIX I keep expecting every town name to be a pun relevant to its problems

>what do Frobisher and Faraday have to do with robots hnnggg

You don't need to grind unless you're mentally handicapped.

All the jobs are viable.

9 was pretty much the peak of puns in the english localizations

First off you need access to Haven. It's the future version of the third island you visit (Regenstein). After this you can start recruiting humanized monsters. You need to recruit the first 3 before moving on.

The first will be in Pilchard bay, the Bard at the docks.
Second will be a man on the second floor of Estard's inn
Third will be a lady on the second floor of Hanlon tower in Ballymolloy

After this happens the download bar will be added to haven which lets you download the event tablets.

Anyone know? I know it's kind of spoilery, but it's one of the few things I want to prepare myself for.
Does he ever come back?

Unlock Haven and get three residents, it was about 4-5 hours in for me.

>peak of puns

NO MORE ALLITERATION PLEASE

He leaves when you meet the Roamers. If you know even the slightest hint about his leaving it's not subtle at all.

The scenario after the second gray rain scenario. Scenario #6, I think. He leaves the party early on and never properly rejoins. You never get him back.

he leaves forever to fuck bitches

at least he did originally, not sure if the remake lets you get him back. I do know the remake lets you change up your end-game party however you want though/

>some content is only accessible until the end of the month
Wait, really? I just started playing another JRPG and was gonna play VII after, what kind of stuff will become unavailable?

I dunno. VI was pretty bad.

Just some tablets that let you fight monsters that give a shitload of exp and money

Don't bother with it if you actually want to enjoy the game

nomad island, you'll know it when you see it

>Does he ever come back?
no, but you get his descendant who is basically a female version of him

I've heard this game is long. I'm at El Ciclo. About how far am I into the game?

Does Aira even have much in relevance going on?

When I look at DQ related stuff it's mostly the Hero and Maribel, with some Melvin and Keifer, and very little Ruff stuff.

But never any Aira.

So I finished the italian furry village, got the tablets from both the cave and the village itself and now I'm stuck.

The gnome fuck at the shrine also refuses me to tell what to do now and there's generally no hints leading to the next point.

Help.

>lol Lavender I don't want to run away with you and abandon my family
>so I'll just run away by myself and abandon my family

the justification being if she ran away with him, Dill would have been cucked and pissed, and both Carraway and Lavender's families would suffer under him.

Slaughtomaton just hit Marribel twice in one turn killing her
How do I revive her?
There are no revive items in this game, can I just heal her?

Are vocations locked behind various requirements/quests like in 9? Any full list anywhere?

Lavender's family is dead, unless you mean her adoptive family but that's a stretch.

The only argument is Carraway's family but they already kind of got fucked in the whole deal.

no

except monster classes which require you to find their heart

Seriously his 2 hit combo can hit 50 damage for each hit
This is bullshit

Lavender agreed to marry Dill in the first place because it would erase the debt she inherited from her father

upgrade your equipment.

And you need Zing/Kazing which you won't have at this point in the game or Yggdrasil leaves, which you won't get either.

There is nothing Dill could do about the debt if Lavender ran away.

So where is the Mermaid Moon?

GODFUCKINGDAMMIT

I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE CUTSCENE ALL OVER AGAIN
AND FIGHT THE ROBOTS AGAIN
AND FIGHT THE DICTATOR AGAIN
AND FIGHT SLAUGHTOMATON AGAIN
AND GET HIT TWICE IN A ROW WITH 50 X2 DAMAGE KILLING MY TEAMMATES AT ONCE

FUCK
I can't even find a guide online or a video on YouTube about any of this

>FUCKING LAVENDER ELOPED WITH DILL FUCK YOU DILL'S FAMILY SUFFER FOR THEIR CRIME OF KEKING ME REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I can't believe I gave Kiefer most of my Strength and Agility seeds I am so fucking mad.

lol you fucking idiot

The present fortune teller is also named Pamela. She doesn't have ability to make medicine, though.

If you just got the request, you'll be able to get it much much later from now

Use buff?

>Pamela

Palmela. because she reads palms

Buff, dude, use buffs and debuffs. Haven't had a character go down yet and I'm 12 hours in.

Marribel was at full health and died to a 2 hit combo

I don't even want to play right now

>she reads palms
I thought she read people's fortune through crystall ball?

yeah she does but I guess Palmela came to be a fortune telling pun

Can I get every Haven resident by just following the tips or are there completely unrelated ones that I have to get lucky on?

get
better
gear

I mean I have pretty much all the stuff sold in stores and I'm level 12 for all but ruff

What gear?

Why don't Heal spells have silly names

>Frizz
>Sizz
>Boom
>Crack
>Zam
>Woosh
>Zing
>Heal

Shouldn't it be like Shween or something

I did that fight at level 12 two days ago. Did you try using Ruff's skill to roar and stun the robot? Worked for me.

But yeah buff Maribel right away (for me I buffed Keifer since I didn't have the best armor on him) and then Sap and keep healing. I didn't have any issues, just keep people healed.

>Theres a tablet in a rich man's house.

Where? Ive already checked the mansions in grondel and el ciclo but no tablets in both.

Alright I just finished fighting grecos and it seems that I have a few options this time.
The fight is intense as fuck. Maribel and ruff died in the first few turns but based old man riffer revived them

Which Island should I go to first?

There's no way you have the best gear and Maribel's getting hit for 50, mine was being hit for 25 at that fight.

Hoimi

...

>Can't rotate the camera under Ygg

Can't use the c stick on the new 3ds

What the fuck was the point in this thing
There's only 1 exclusive game and it's a shitty port

C-stick on MonHun is pretty legit though. Also hacked overclocking usually helps games a bit

Never played it
Is it fun or repetitive

>Is it fun or repetitive

I'M AT THE ROAMER CAMP AND I'M SCARED I'M GOING TO LOSE ALL MY SHIT HE HAS

You get it all after.

Holy shit!

Thank you kindly

Can you get to the sphinx in either time before the flying carpet after freeing it?

>hela hammer hits a metal king slime
>ctiting metal slimes in general

Is there a list of what the monster classes learn yet? I grabbed some hearts from the match game

dq7.org/dq7_jobm1.html

meetind old man riffer just makes me hate kiefer more

I thought I was going to complete it but I fucking forgot about the arena in Alltrade Abbey
I want to kill myself
I've missed DQ threads so fucking much since the good old DQ generals in /vg/ ;_;

The only thing you have to make sure is to never use stat seeds on him

>still no physical copy anywhere
>not a single place offers a date, not even a prediction
Life in the third world sure is fun! eShop is gonna have to be it seems.

Probably should just import it from ebay or amazon. It'll probably be cheaper than what your country sells it for anyway.

> moon

I need something that takes the localized puns in mind

...

>inn located n the middle of a fucking poison swamp is 240 coins to stay in

Its teaching you to use zoom and go stay at your house for free.

I just finished fighting grecos and only have 35 little medals.

Feels bad man. How much do you need in total to unlock stuff?

According to people in these threads, the first prize is 45 mini medals. And you don't get to go there for quite a while.

45 to get the first thing Poison Dagger

After that something new roughly every 5-8 medals

Tablet in a rich mans house?

Where the fuck is that

>take this poison dagger, it's a sacred treasure from our kingdom
>you get more fucking daggers literally everywhere

So the islands in the past aren't all synchronized right?

As in one might be a couple decades in the past, another might be thousands of years?

Correct. Your party will soon realize that when you finish one particular island and see that it connects to a island you've been to before. You get to see how it's changed in the years you were gone.

Seems to be the case. One island talks about you coming back about 100 years later. Another says 'several generations'. Another hints at it being some 700 years in the past. The desert island specifically tells you only 6 queens have gone by since Hidad, which could be anywhere from 100-300 years estimating average age.

is there any particular island that's only far enough in the past that someone from then would still be alive in the future?

I have never played a DQ title in my life and just downloaded VII.

Are there any essential things i should be aware of that are not obvious?

Wait, when did they realize it? It was never mentioned in the party chat in my game so far.

I'm assuming Greenthumb, since it has a bridge to emberdale.

A guy from emberdale who came to get herbs will go kind of nuts from finding out that the other island just disappeared all of a sudden and nobody seems to believe him

>Trying to get to 8-star on various jobs to get to 3rd tier jobs early as possible
>tfw youtu.be/Ipz7PHClmRY
I feel dumb focusing more on jobs than the actual level

so does Kiefer turn Florin into Anthony Burch

>Michael FARADAY - His inventions of electromagnetic rotary devices formed the foundation of electric motor technology, and it was largely due to his efforts that electricity became practical for use in technology.

So is this like bravely default? You run around getting job levels to get better spells and then destroy everything cause you overgrinded on jobs?

Don't feel dumb user. I did the same thing in DQ6. I leveled like fucking crazy. I had tons of high tier spells and abilities soon after getting to Alltrades. It was weird since I didn't have the MP or the STR to make these attacks hit as hard as they look. Made the game way too easy though. The rest of the game was a breeze. For DQ7 I'm just taking it slow. I'm not grinding like crazy for my jobs like in 6, but I'm still grinding. Just not as much. I think I'm in the Sword VS. Magic island right now and I'm finishing up the all the basic jobs for my party, well except for Mervyn. I think I'll be halfway done with my first intermediate classes on Hero, Ruff, and Maribel by the time I finish this island. As for Mervyn, I hope to have him on Priest by the time I'm done here. He still has to finish Soldier and Martial Artist.

Wow. I didn't catch that one at all.

BD is like DQ7, so yeah. They made it a bit easier to grind job levels in this game by making the max fight count to master lower and giving you a dungeon that only has slimes (so very low exp given) and has a level cap of 20 in order for it to count towards job completion.

not so much of a pun as a reference

if this was DQ9 it'd be called like, Orlandroid, or Robo de Janiero

Oh shit! Bump limit reached. How long has it been since a DQ thread lasted this long. Thanks Cred Forums. I mean that. It's nice to have a chill DQ thread.

So several new islands appeared but I cant access them either by flying carpet or ship.

They're surrounded by mountains. Is there a trick to this or do I just wait until the plot progresses?

I just beat Maeve using the doll. You were supposed to use that, right? Or should I go back and defeat her normally?

Nah you're fine.

I assume so.

I beat her with a guest crit, so it probably doesn't matter.

Where the fuck is bulgio?:
