Their Leeds, London, New England, San Diego and Toronto studios haven't brought out anything at all in the years since them collaborating with Rockstar North for GTA V in 2013.
And I know, good games take years to develop. But I feel like they've HAD years to do so. Smaller studios aside, I doubt San Diego and Toronto have been doing nothing but helping on the development with GTAV pre 2013, and especially after.
Yes, they've been releasing steady content for GTAO over the past year, but at a scale and pace that makes me believe no more that 50 people have been working full time at this shit. That means 800+ people sitting on their asses doing nothing, or making vidya all the time over the past three years.
To put it into perspective: -Blizzard released a brand new shooter, trading card game, moba, 2 WoW expansions and another for diablo and starcraft. -Bioware released 5 MMO expansions and another Dragon Age -Valve has released nothing
What's going on, and when are we going to get anything worthwhile?

When people stop buying the fucking GTA Online microtransactions.
Hudson White
Red dead 2 incoming
Oliver Young
If you. Look close enough, you can see the year they discovered micro transations
Zachary Hill
They do nothing but count money and shit out a gta online dlc from time to time

7th gen >Bully remaster >GTA IV >EfLC >RDR >LA Noire >Midnight Club LA >Max Payne 3 >GTA V
all in the span of 5 years
8th gen >GTA V remaster
3 years and literally no other announcements or plans

Xavier Price
they're working on the Agent
ahhahahahahahahah
Jack Collins
Was GTAV the beginning of the end, Cred Forums?
Christopher Green
the only Rockstar competition is themselves. The day a company produces a game which can rival GTA V is the day Rockstar will move their asses.
Oliver Cook
But like do they just keep paying 800 some employees to do nothing? Just sit there
Jayden Allen
>tfw only one GTA this gen at this rate
I hope some decent games come out before then otherwise GTA 6 looks to be a $500 purchase.
Easton Adams
GTA Online is the next step, no more sequels just expansions
Jaxon Kelly
New Red Dead will be announced next month and it's gonna blow everyone away.
Austin Adams
>we wil never EVER get a rockstar table tennis 2 Most underrated game last gen.
Logan Ross
>tfw only one GTA this gen at this rate >it's just a remaster of a last gen game
Grayson Harris
>New Red Dead will be announced next month yeah i've been hearing that for over 2 years now. starts to get old.
Grayson Perez
>2008 GTA IV took 4 years and 150 people.
>2009 Handheld games that you can shit out in 6 months with a 10 man team.
>2010 RDR took 5 years and was development hell and it ended up having over 600 people work on it.
>2011 Except they only got in the near the end of 7 years of development of LA Noire by the aussie studio when the gruelling work of making that city was already done along with most of the assets.
>2012 MP3 unknown size & dev time but safe to assume it's probably 4-5 years with 400+ people again.
>2013 GTA V took 4 years with a THOUSAND people.
This doesn't even account for the ports they'd be doing for PC and the PS4/Xbone. If anything they had a lot of projects going and people shared between those. Getting in money from games that released like GTA IV before RDR meant more developers & money being put on the other projects. Now that this period has ended it they are probably working on a whole new daisy chain of games again or maybe they simmered down a bit and focus on just a couple now. Earliest you could expect a new game is like late 2017.
Samuel Sanders
As well I might add this is the exact same drought you had with Blizzard during 2005-2010 when they made nothing but WoW expansions and were busy working on their games for years until Wings of Liberty finally released in 2010, Diablo III in 2012, Hearthstone in 2014, HotS in 2015 and Overwatch in 2016. It's almost like these studios take really long time to make these heavily polished games or something.
Joseph Garcia
Wouldn't make sense. by that rationelle it'd mean that GTA V development started before IV even released, or it's development took just 2 years.
You underestimate the collective studios' ability to multitask, and you overestimate the degree to which they collaborate.
William Cooper
2008-2013 is a 5 year period. Rockstar North didn't start development on GTA V for a year to take 4 years to make V, simple math. All the Rockstar studios are managed from the top down with Rockstar Games so money and developers/development time will be flowing around as the need arises.
>You underestimate the collective studios' ability to multitask, and you overestimate the degree to which they collaborate. I most certainly don't, which is why I don't expect a new game from any of their studios until 2017 since they have 4-5 year development times and there has been no talks about any new games so far in 2016.
Charles Cruz
I wish all companies would simply do a Fallout 4.
Don't even mention the game, and then once it's it's in it's final stage (polishing etc) then announce it, and announce that it's coming in a few months.
Jace Johnson
Seriously, despite all the shit that game gets, the announcement was fantastic. A ton of info and gameplay, and a release that was months after the announcement.
Nicholas Bennett
Who cares, their games are shit by today's standards.
GTA have been stale since San Andreas.
Nolan Lee
Fuck off, Todd
Josiah Ortiz
>late 2017 I wouldn't even mind that, but you'd think they'd have announced something by now if that were the case
