How are you guys enjoying VII? I'm really enjoying it. Right now grinding beginning classes so I can get intermediate classes which I'll just grind through the story. What build are you guys going for?

>other characters in the corner

In the village under Alltrades. Wonder where I will get back a full party.
From the setup Ive planned so far, I don't have any fighters.

I want to FUCK Maribel!

>Grinding slimes for 2 hours
>no slime hearts
why

Have you taken the Monster Munchies off the table in the Monster Meadows area of the Haven? You need to do this before you can get heart drops, and the meadows don't need to be usable, you just need to have access to the Haven

I made the same mistake

...

not for a long time

how do I get access to the meadows good man

>hero as paladin, maribel as sage, ruff as pirate
i'm fucking unstoppable lads, i don't even remember the last time a non-boss enemy damaged my team

The portal to them is to the right of the altar thing you put monster tablets on

thanks so much dude I would have never got them I thought it was some portal back to the past

I'm on the island where people keep vanishing every time you stay at a town's inn. Gonna backtrack back out to Alltrades Abbey before I continue though since Maribel just maxed out Mage.

So do you have to choose a class for marvyn or is legendary hero a class on its own?

Also, stuck at hubble. When is the guard coming back?

My maribel is a luminary right now. Hustle dance is really nice at this stage. Heals all party up to 50hp and requires 0 mana.

Am I supposed to sell the slime hearts?

Help please.
I'm at the temple where the Angels need my help.
There is an entire dark room with rotating sautes.
I don't really get how it work.

So question, where does 7 place in the timeline? Must be before 9, but also before 4-6 since they all use the goddess as the deity? I've always sort of tracked this shit in my head so as far as I know there could be some official confirmation they're standalone, although that'd be pretty shocking for 4-6.

Hang onto at least 5 if you want to make every party member a Slime at some point, for whatever reason

>Goddess
Dude besides the ones that are obviously connected (1-3, 4-6) none of them take place in the same world.

The bird in 8 explicitly says she's from another world.

>the Carraway-Lavender story continues

Didn't expect that. I thought it would just end abruptly like that and you just have to make your own story based on the present.

Also, time loop, in my DQ game?

Kek, thanks.

The monster classes are pretty useful since their skills are carried over like the regular base classes, but I haven't fucked with em yet. Might make Maribel a Healslime for a little bit after I finish up Dancer and maybe Troubadour on her.

>How are you guys enjoying VII?
I'm not. This is the first DQ game I've played that I not only don't like, but also likely won't finish. At least it may be good for reselling at a high price in the future.

Oh. Fair enough. I just figured there was some sort of through line. The goddess/godbird just seems to turn up in all of them, and with the almighty in 9 being revealed to be some kind of autism God, and all that.

>loading a quicksave doesn't delete the file
HAHA TIME TO SAVESCUM THE CASINO
Protip for card-matching: If you don't uncover the shuffle card in the preliminary flips then you might as well just throw the game, even if you are cheating (which you should be because DQ casinos are bullshit)

Also fucking hell that clocktower puzzle is bullshit.
The tablet literally offers no hint. "Begin at the end and trace a path back to the beginning". Any sane person would assume it was implying you had to take the exact teleporter path you took to get there to go back, not that you had to walk counterclockwise around the outer rim

Literally me. I was warned to not grind slimes but I did it anyways.
Now Ruff and Hero are killing every encounter with Thin Air and I'm overwhelmed with abilities since there's no real way of knowing how strong a move will be before you use it.
Guess I'll just avoid fights as much as possible and see if I can correct the difficulty curve.

>Spoiler
We're not all massive retards user. The very first thing I tried was running in a counterclockwise circle.

What happened to the maid though?

The clock puzzle was easy, there were fucking gigantic roman numeral tablets on the ground in a wheel-shaped room, I knew what it meant right away

>2016
>still no Bunnygirl vocation
Horii plz. Stop the teasing with NPCs getting access to it but not the players.

Mastering monster classes also lead to plat king class which has the resistances of a metal slime and omni heal. But that's a shit ton of grinding. You can get a "Free" one from getting all the mini medals though.

Its by far the most tedious jrpg ever made, but its kind of comfy for that in a way.

Please post a video of this part when you finally get to it, I want to compare them.
It'll probably take you around 150 hours before finally reaching this part though.

>What happened to the maid though?
Dill ends up losing his money by trying to replace the herb garden with a vineyard and failing miserably, and Lavender leaves to become a nun in that convent overlooking Wilted Heart. Cayenne, the maid, ends up marrying a rich dude and moving into Dill's house. Except she's still in love with Dill and poisoning her husband. Eventually she's caught and Cayenne and Dill run off.
Basically fucking everyone in Greenthumb is terrible and can go suck a massive bag of dicks

Wait, do we still have another sequel after the bridge is unlocked?

>he doesn't know

I'll inform you, she didn't call the wind spirit a slut in japanese.

No that all goes down after you get the bridge open and run across. Go around talking to people.

I don't think there's a reason to beyond wanting to know how that little story ends.

Speaking of the bridge, is the time loop city done after the bridge is unlocked? There's still the subplot of reuniting the artist with his daughter.

>want to chat with ruff
>marible starts talking

no more party chat till i get rid of this bitch

As someone who couldn't bear the PSX version, I dig this, it's much closer to 8, with a slower pace. It's still got all the DQ trappings I need, like puns, silliness, and emotional gut punch side stories.

I still can't get over the Russian dude crying over his mama in 8.

Go to bed Ron.

yeah, nothing really happens if you go back. kind of disappointing considering how much they fleshed out the greenthumb story.

I mean, if the goddess is always the same goddess, regardless of different worlds, does that mean the almighty is always the same almighty, and everyone in 7 is praying to a spastic?

The almighty changes.

The almighty in 9 is zenus(sp?).

>Maribel says our job is now finished

But we still haven't reunited the two. Will this shit get a sequel too?

Nah, 7 and 9 have no relation to each other.

And you'll met HIm too here

Where is the serpent? I'm near the lake and Ruff says something about needing to find the serpent, but there doesn't seem to be anything to trigger an event. (On the Desert Island)

Hint: Resurrection

And now, I know what Style is for.

Is there any guides out for this remake yet?
I'm kinda stuck, cant find the tablet needed to progress and I'm getting no hints from the game.

I am taking it really slowly. I play like two hours a day and I really spent too much time in the monster refugee island.

You can still use old guides in general if you know the name changes.

Are you using the menu>info>next fragment instead of the fairy/pixie?

ohh I didnt know about the menu, only talked to that flying cunt.

thanks.

>all these Europ languages mixed in

What is the point?

>these borderline offensively thick spanish and german accents
Kinda hard to get invested in the village's plot when every fifth word they utter is non-english though and I have to use context to guess what they're saying.

I feel so bad for non-native english speakers though, this must be hell.

Is this like 8 where the position of your party in battle affect the odds of them being targeted? Left being more often, and right being less? Or does the order of your mans not matter?

Also should I use seeds as I find them or save them for way later when stat curves on levelling slow the fuck down?

I'm non-native and I fare pretty well.

>Is this like 8 where the position of your party in battle affect the odds of them being targeted?

Yes

>that village where people keep saying "ze" "ze" every words mixed with French words
really what the fuck?

>game has language options
>going to be a problem for the non-native english

suuuuree..Maybe if you only know arabic.

I dumped all the seeds I found for the first 20 hours or so onto the Hero, splitting the rest between Maribel and Ruff now depending on what stats they need.

The game gives you a fuckton of seeds compared to the other DQs I've played so I don't think you have to worry so much.

I still don't get it.
Do you mean "Ressurection" as in a spell?

How the fuck does the monster munchies work? I don't get it.

wait fuck, I meant to reply to

Another hint: Go to the present

Have them in your bag. You'll recruit monsters when they feel like it.

Raise your monster masher class to get better chances at recruitment.

>keifer stays with the girl
>the other three and turban guy explore cave
this shit is retardedly easy now that i have that mp restore ring and two edged boomerangs. AND i get classes soon?

is there going to be any challenge at all?

Still not at the point where classes are avaliable m80. When you say "feel like it" do you mean they will say something very obvious then I just throw food in their faces?

That mp ring can break. So unless you're in the habit of quick saving often, don't over use it. You're going to want them later.

Random chance after battle

No I mean it's based on random chance after a battle. Some monsters have lower recruitment rates than others too.

You don't use the munchies at all, but there is an item and skill that can raise the chances you can find later.

Yeah, I just know if you pump your stats too high the game slows down on giving you stats from level ups, and in other DQs at least, those slow down naturally, ergo holding off on seeds for more impact.

Okay fair enough. Thanks for the help lads, thought I was fucking it up.

I'm taking my time. Not trying to rush through a DQ game because it will be ages before we get another proper release. I think I'm around 13 hours in. Just finished that automaton island in the present day.

Anyone?
I'm still stuck.

Follow their tail, not their hands.

You actually can use the munchies in battle, it'll sometimes distract the monsters for a turn. Chance seems pretty low though, Snooze and even Awoo are more reliable

Note: Interact with the statues first!

I'm 30 hours into the game and I was at the desert island in the past and I just changed the MC to thief to become a pirate (he's level 21, Ruff is 19 as Monster Masher and Maribel is one star away from Priest to be mastered, I think I would go Sage for her after.
I'm so what does it says about me? Is that am I a huge retard?

Thanks buddy

That poor fucking priest from Providence

Tries to save villagers only to get nearly lynched. Leaves town and becomes amnesiac and goes to providence where he lives a decent life. Monsters come to kill him and destroy the statue. Atleast he was appreciated the second time

So travellers tablets: is it worth completing all the ones you get? Can you get the reward more than once? I only have the 3 DLC ones, and 3 from haven people, but it sounds like when I start recruiting monsters I'll be swimming in them

Lots of charcters in 7 had a hard life.

Pike for instance. Misunderstood man trying to do his best in the shadow of his older brother. His sister in law is such a bitch to him and that nephew of his shows no respect at all. Even steals from him when he sleeps. He still tries to help the little man out of the kindness of his heart of course.

>get a bunch of monster hearts from casino
>no idea what they can learn, don't want to waste them

I'm surprised woodus doesn't have all this info from the JP version already.

Fuck off Pike

They let you change a character to a monster class once you get class changes available. You're almost there.

They each have their own little rewards for completion, but you want tablets that have a higher level to get really good stuff.

Also people, STOP FUCKING SHARING TABLETS YOU DIDN'T CREATE. Unless you have something like a metal king tablet, you're not helping my town at all!

>The goddess/godbird just seems to turn up in all of them

Godbird is only in 3, 8 and Heroes 1 and 2. empyrea specifically travels between dimensions and time

I can't even fucking create tablets yet and I'm like 30 hours in, and I've gotten every single migrant available so far.

>Go to bed Ron.
This wasn't me.
Also, Maribel is a cunt

>tfw nodragonquestmonsters

I'm confused, how does that affect your town? Don't only the hide-and-seek migrants build up your town? Can it change or differ from game to game, or is it always static?

Give it another week. I'm sure the team are just wanting to give DQ7 some room to breath.

I just figured the godbird WAS the goddess, so any game where the goddess is the diety she's sort of around.

Max town is 26-27 migrants. I have all 15 ones you can find in the game, but need about 11 more to get a maxed town.

>They let you change a character to a monster class once you get class changes available. You're almost there.

I know, I mean i don't know what skills those monsters learn. Since now a lot of upper tier skills are locked to monster classes to learn permanently and I don't have that many of each heart because the match game is annoying. Got like Mimics, chimaeras, living well and I think a berserker heart out of it

>just made it to the casino
>already lost over $500
>nothing to show for it
Welp, at least now I know I shouldn't bother ever going to Vegas.

S A V E
C
U
M

Oh, right
So far I've only found some Slime hearts, a Healslime heart, and a Chimera heart. And two of those were from treasure chests. I should go back and fuck around with the match game again if it can give hearts.

Seeing the Irish accent in a game is deadly, hi. Sure I wonder if the yanks can even understand a fucking word. Its quare thick that brogue, so it is.

Nope, usually if a game refers to a goddess they're talking about Rubiss. Then in 9 it's Zenus.

Do you know if the 3ds version still has like 3 different towns depending on your migrants? I'm assuming not since you have so many fixed migrants now

Okay, and those extras have to be... Street passed tablets made from monsters from players? This shits obtuse as fuck.

Fuck off Ron, go to sleep.

Nah that town was fine
The French town and the Spanish town were more annoying because they always do the "[FOREIGN WORD] - [REPEAT WHAT THEY JUST SAID BUT IN ENGLISH] - " thing

Also there's 3 new quests in the download bar, in addition to the original 3. I assume they're all worth it? I'm worried I'll hit capacity before I'm even levelled enough to complete any.

Fuck Vogogorod

Fuck everyone in that town

The worst town hands down was the fucking annoying town with the ze flying ze carpet ze.
I seriously had trouble understanding what the fuck was going on.

They went waaaay fucking overboard there

So can someone link to me how the music sounds in the US version of DQVII. I bought the game, but I downloaded a version with the symphonic melodies. I wanna hear how the US version sounds though before I start playing either one. I'm at work right now so I can't just boot up one or The other and listen.

Irish? I thought it was scottish. Then again it's hard to distinguish the two.

So does the Poison Needle have a higher chance for the insta-kill than the Assasin's Dagger? The former sells for around twice that of the latter, so I'd assume it's more potent somehow.

I might have Maribel and Ruff carry one around in case of Metal monsters.

Sounds pretty close to the soundfont the DS games used, doesn't bother me one bit personally

I think it sounds just fine. As good as 9, and I loved 9.

A maxed town is a maxed town in this one. With these 15 migrants I still have a casino. There's also a little side story that plays out as you collect them.

And yes, you need either dlc tablets or street passed tablets to get more migrants. With the release today, I guess it's possible to have seven more tablets on top of the 15 if you have beaten the game, but that still means you would need about 5 more from random people before next month.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK VOGOGOROD

Holy shit that makes me mad

Poison Needle's gimmick is usually that it always does 1 damage and occasionally insta-kills right? Usually pretty good for Slime hunting for characters that don't get Metal Slash.

Oh, so DLC tablets count towards that too? It doesn't have to be player-generated street pass ones? Cause my odds of street passing people are abysmal and I was kind of worried.

In some other games the poison needle kill works on metals, but the assassin dagger doesn't, so be aware.

You can exchange tablets with other random players online anyway

>keifer leaves to play ffx with that nomad girl
>go back to island
>tombstone on way
SON

Yes dlc tablets count, and when you select share from the download bar you can get up to 3 random tablets from people who also shared. To get a migrant though, you have to have gotten one shared from the person who created the tablet.

So sharing the slime forest one is not going to help the next guy at all.

So I still need to make some tablets of my own? Groovy. I'm not there yet, but good to know.

Should I get this game?
I'm into jrpgs every so often and I've really liked the world and design on Dragon Quest Warriors that I've played, I haven't played a mainline title

Eat a dick you Maribel loving faggot.

>at Animal Village
>level 11
Fuck. How long til I unlock Slime Dungeon and Alltrades? I don't want to hit the cap before I get the beginning classes completed

>not loving Maribel
I will never understand gay people.

Nigga I just hit that part last night, and HOLY FUCK THE FEELS.

Dragon Quest 7 is lengthy and requires a lot of mundane poking your nose into every bookcase/smashing every pot to progress, so it's not one which I would usually recommend as a person's first Dragon Quest. You certainly could, and it certainly could end up your favorite, but I'd think that it might drive you away as well.

Most people recommend Dragon Quest 5 or Dragon Quest 8 as a good starting point. I've played DQ3 and DQ4 and felt both were very good as well, although some people didn't like the chapter setup of DQ4. (I thought it was really good at getting familiar with the world and the characters.)

Just play the fucking game you fucking sperg

She a shit.

Just play the game you fag
You don't need to grind for classes

why does the party not acknowledge the shit i was like DAYUM

Most people get to Alltrades somewhere around 20-25 hours gametime. You've still got quite a way ahead of you, but leveling also slows down considerable during that time.

Mick the mimic told me there's a boy in

Acolus Vale... i talked to everyone in the village couldn't get in the mayors room though.

Thanks!

When can you get at the 4th migrant? The hint-giver says a dude in a spa town, which is obviously emberdale, but also says "may not be able to meet him yet".

You are a shit Ron.

Let me rephrase

Where is the monster kid in Acolus Vale?

>liking the type of girl who gets off on putting you down
>extra bitchy to everyone with a Y chromosome
>never has anything nice to say
>gets mad when other women get attention from her teammates
>she's probably into ball crushing, pegging, and general emasculation
>would probably cuck you and tell you that she has every right to fuck whoever she want
And yet I'm the fag?

I beat the game and now i have to collect 47 fucking mini medals to unlock the bonus dungeon.
Fuck me

If he's not there just progress the story and check back after the next island

He's there. he's in the item shop if i recall or no the bar or the spa in the well I can't remember

I don't know man, I kept spamming 'b' but nothing.

So Ron, you're completely incapable of handling the bantz AND too retarded to see she wants the Hero's dick?

>>liking the type of girl who gets off on putting you down
>>extra bitchy to everyone with a Y chromosome
>>never has anything nice to say
>>gets mad when other women get attention from her teammates
Do you not understand what a tsundere is?
Get some education Ron, go to sleep.

Should have been smashing them pots user. I have 85 mini medals right now before the final boss.

Where the fuck can I get a ressurect in L'Arca? The presumed priest is still a dogo.

What the fuck is the pool of piety?

You gotta go to larca senpai

Maribel is more of a shit, though.

>The envoy used fizzle

Fuck how do I counter this. My multiheal is fucking useless now.

Oh i mean you gotta go to estard senpai

>implying Maribel has any "dere"
Without that she's just a bitch with a retarded anime run.
just like your mom

That's fucking dumb, serves me right for being a shitter I suppose.

>Force a Golem to dance
>It's the fucking Cossack Dance
My sides have traveled to the distant past

If you were a luminary you wouldn't have this problem :^)

So you haven't been reading anything she says, got it

>mfw Ruff turns into a Dragon and practically killed the Drakeslime boss alone
>in dragon form he was practically the only thing you can in the bottom screen

Luminary isnt affected by fizzle? Good to know. Maribel is a druid now I'll just change her back.

Play normally and you'll finish altrades at around 15-17.

I would advise against job grinding so early though because it can really fuck up the difficulty curve, especially if you make a beeline for advanced classes.

>>implying Maribel has any "dere"
>implying she doesn't
Are you a harem protagonist?
How can you not notice how fixated she is on the hero?

I just want to have lewd outfits on Maribel; is the martial artist class any good?

It's still effected by fizzle but dances and songs are not.

So hustle dance which heals at least 50 hp for no mp, would still work.

>How can you not notice how fixated she is on the hero?
>except when she's chewing out poor Keifer and every other man for liking a girl that prettier than her
MDF detected.

Dances which are abilities are not effected by fizzle.

Your nerfing yourself by going back to luminary

I'm with the Roamers right now; how much farther would you say I have until I have jobs? If I don't have them unlocked by tomorrow its going to cost me a blowjob.

Yeah but Maribel doesn't have the strength to make it as good as the other classes
Knuckle Sandwich will probably help her damage output against single targets though, 2 MP for a double strength regular attack. It'll probably be stronger than Frizz.

Am I the only one that would love remakes of I, II, and III?

Fuck you, I'm gay and Maribel is awesome. Actually I'm liking all the characters, even Ruff isn't annoying like I thought.

They've remade both twice. And ported it several times.

They've remade and ported them several times already.

I don't care much for I and II, but I'd kill for a remake of III with a party chat system where the responses are based on the personalities. Even if they "only" did 6 or 7 types of responses per general archetype, it'd still be great.

Literally next island.

1 would have to be bundled with 2 because it sure as hell doesn't have the length to be sold on its own for full price.

I think he was talking about a remake like DQ7.

I really loved I, but I think its of its time and it doesn't really need more remakes unless something radically different is done. II could stand to use a remake that makes it fuck awesome, always enjoyed it.

III is basically perfect, what else does it need?

More like what ze fuck

I forgot abilities. Thanks.

I'm gay too and she's kind of annoying. Ruff is a bro and absolutely adorable, though.

The super serious village with them all turned to stone was a bit hampered by the kid talking like Outer from The Simpsons.

I'm gay and both of you are fucking faggots.

Ruff just got his Monster Masher class maxed, what class should I change it?

Is VII becoming one of your favorite DQ games? I think I like it more than any of them barring V and VIII.

>make the hero a Pirate
>make the kid a cabin boy Sailor
>make the wench a Dancer
Aww yeah. Best crew right here.

I'm gay and here's your (You)

Im 40 hours in and havent used any of the seeds.

Should I use magic seeds on maribel so she would have loads of mana of use it on other party members that have lower mana.

Whatever one you want? I personally tend to gravitate going to the very slow leveling classes to get them out of the way.

>grinding
You fucking disgust me

I just finished all trade abbey. Made hero a sailor, Maribel a priest and Ruff a thief. Did I do bad?

>gladiator and paladin get a super class with champion
>sage and luminary get a super class with summoner
>no class that combines pirate and monster masher

It's close to dropping below Joker 1 on my DQ ranking list. Games just that bad.

Also 5 is overrated to all hell simply because it has a couple "feels" here and there. Those don't come close to how long it takes just to learn Zoom compared to other DQs, nevermind the shit tier pacing of Gen2's arc.

I used them until she had about 100 MP, then I stopped bothering since she never really ran out anymore and the relative increase per seed is fairly negligible at that point. I haven't used any since, I'm saving them up for future party members.

>Arrive in Alltrades Abbey
>"Oh great, it's getting kind of late but I can at least get everyone their first Vocations before calling it a night."
>It happens
I'm glad I went into it blind except for knowing I would need to have lots of Herbs at some point. That was the best adventure so far.

>needing zoom in dq5 before you get it.

also jesus christ chimera wings are cheap as fuck and found everywhere.

>Just finished Regenstein
>figured the old man and little boy would solve the stone statue problem and save the village
>Visit the present day version of the island for the first time
>They didn't and the entire town is dead

What aren't you liking about VII?

And thank you for reminding everyone that V is overrated, I had forgotten.

Where the fuck are the people of faraday?Even ellie's gone!

I'm in pain from the puns

Faraday,

Mossferatu

Nottagen

AAAAAAAGH

Welcome to Dragon Quest

Looks like an old school grindy rpg, as does VIII. Am I wrong? I can't bring myself to grind.

Yeah, finishing that island felt super satisfying. Moreso than any island before it.
>tfw i went into it completely blind
>tfw i realized how fucked i really was without abilities after barely managing to save that priest from being mugged
>tfw all those scripted losses throwing me for a ride
>tfw the uprising
>tfw based loli priestess joins you for the final battle

It looks old school because that's the whole point of every single game in the series. It's also only grindy if you're really, REALLY bad at video games.

...

...

I have not grinded once and in fact avoid monster encounters whenever possible, and I have yet to have anyone die. 13 hours in.

It's hard to get invested when I can practically imagine them going
>CHEERIO PIP PIP OL' BEAN

It's not grindy at all unless you are a faggot like op

>What aren't you liking about VII?
Progression gated by collectable trinkets. It's annoying enough in platformers, but in an rpg? gtfo. Having to revisit islands/towns/dungeons immediately after finishing them in the past to collect said trinkets sucks balls.

>And thank you for reminding everyone that V is overrated, I had forgotten.
It's so very true. 6 had feels, an amazing world(s), delivered unto us vocations, lots of places and characters you could go back and check up on at your whim, and an MC design unlike any other in the series. Dude wasn't some generic warrior or bitchboy everyman.

Does anyone have the Dragon Quest reaction face template with the old man playing DQ VII? This is very important.

>and an MC design unlike any other in the series.
VI has the worst main character design in the series.

takes like 3 hours to grind out the basic classes in slimetree forest. whats wrong with that? given all of the poison and death floors the games thrown at you so far, why wouldn't you grind thief at least a little in order to finally fucking have safe passage?

>Having to revisit islands/towns/dungeons immediately after finishing them in the past to collect said trinkets sucks balls

That doesn't bother me because the first thing I want to do after clearing an island is visit it in the present anyways and see how things have changed.

What are you on about? Just look at this motherfucker. He's buff. He's tough. And he doesn't even need tension to attain a rad as hell hair style. Dude is literally living his dream.

Close.

>and see how things have changed
>town layout is the same
>dungeon layout is the same
>monster loadout is the same
>town may have a vaguely different culture
>but there are new fragments to collect so go and spend the next hour retracing steps you'd just spent an hour or more getting through
ok.

Aside from the hairstyle and the boots it seems alright. kinda similar to 8's though.

The fun part of rpgs, aside from battles, is going places and seeing new things. How progression works in VII is to delay visiting new places by doubling down on the current one. If the time travel thing were nixed and instead the tablets sent you to fix present day island problems which would then cause them to reappear, nothing in the story would be changed. And the play time would literally be cut in half. This is what's known as "filler". VI did the multi-world thing far better, and still had tons of town/character updates for optional revists. VI also didn't have gimped to all hell party chat, and a switch worlds zoom function.

>town layout is the same
False. Plenty of towns change, like the sand-dweller town being burred by the sands and requiring new buildings to be constructed or the town with the well going from a small village to a huge thriving town that has visitors from the world over coming to visit the tree; plus you can infer what happened to the fairy

>dungeon layout is the same
>monster loadout is the same
I'm not going there to fight monsters. Sometimes dungeons are removed or replaced with something else in the present as well.

>town may have a vaguely different culture
Yet all the inhabitants are completely different because the time passed can be anywhere from a couple of centuries to half a millennium, and it's nice to know how things are getting on now that the "bad end" has been removed.

His eyes are kinda weird but otherwise I like it

>Get your powers back
>Absolutely SHIT on the fake priest

You're full of shit, I just did the Wilted Heart part and it was totally different in the present.

Thanks Doc

I was feeling this for a while but eventually the present towns start all being significantly different again, it's just that stretch near the beginning that all have identical present versions

Holy hell. The Roamer segment was the ultimate example Rich White Male Privilege.
>bored rich dude forces his way into small tight knit community
>steals the top babe in towns heart
>beats the shit out of her dad and declares he'll be the guardian of these poor underdeveloped people
Like, goddamn. Who wrote this scenario and why?

Not even him but you're full of shit retard.
You're cherry picking the handful of islands where something actually happens.
Most of the islands like Providence, Acolus Vale, Emberdale, Ballymolloy, Wetlock and many others have fuck all of relevance when revisiting beyond padding by making you spend hours retreading the same shit.
This game would easily be half as long if they cut out all the bullshit.

Terrible colors and the fat pouch in the front kinda bothers me
otherwise its an alright design

>Pirate - Normal
>Armamentalist - Slow
>Sage - Very Slow
are these descriptions fucked? my pirates fallen behind the others by 1 to 2 stars yet they've all been in the same amount of battles.

>not liking Future Trunks

Florin was a fuckhead who was willing to fuck everything up to get the pussy he felt entitled to.

More like every dragon quest ever.

How playable is the dragon quest series on mobile? I have days at work where i could get away with turn based grinding but i would get fired if i just had a 3ds at work. Are any of the games 4-8 playable or enjoyable on mobile?

Yo when you guys see Fire Claws for sale in a store pick that shit up. It's a pretty good weapon for Ruff and it casts Frizzle on use.

because I played the game normally and leveled a thief. The game is easy enough without grinding, wheres the fun when you just stomp everything?

you're all gay and need to accept jesus christ as your lord and savior

Yeah there's a couple of slang terms that distuingish the two. Its Ulster Scots so there's a lot shared between the nations but the names and the inn keeper saying "Top O the morning to ye" was pretty clear it was Irish

>modern day wilted heart
>owner does nothing but (literally) chase skirt all day
Living the dream.

You can get them from the Casino Flip too.
They also deal added fire damage after a normal attack.

I actually had a nightmare last night about dying and all I could think about was not being able to play Dragon Quest X

Why does everything about this game feel like its from 1995? The slow unnecessary drawn out waits between actions. The terrible menu GUI, the leveling up.

Does the Faerie Foil cast Buff or Kabuff in VII? I found a merchant selling one but it's hella expensive and currently weaker than my Hero's War Hammer.

So I got to the part with the priestess of the abbey, and on the way back to the village I died, and the priestess is gone, do I have to go back to the end of the cave to get her again?

I wonder if the twist is that your playing a girl all this time who is disguised herself as boy like Mulan?

Buff

Because the basic formula is older than that and mostly unchanged

doing the abbey missions in the western caves. should i bother exploring and dealing with all this shit with no spells and abilities? is there any treasure down here worth it at all?

and how the fuck does the game expect me to beat those two monsters down there that i was forced to lose to

Eh, I'll pass on it for now then. Probably find a free one later anyways.

They aren't there when you go back with the queens guard, later they get their abilities stolen from them

so i just reached alltrades at lvl 14, 14, and 11. whats the general strategy people have come up with? ive only payed 3 and 9 but the class system seems very different from those games. guides ive found online are about the original game and from what ive seen in this threads there have been changes in the abilities and the way to unlock classes. im lost.

Jesus fuck, just play the fucking game.
Don't bother with having the best team possible, play the way you want.

You can have everyone max every class.

>Any sane person would assume it was implying you had to take the exact teleporter path you took to get there to go back
No sane person would think that least of all when you're standing on a massive clock with visible numbers.

>knowing I would need to have lots of Herbs
I bought 30 of them and didn't even use 10. Salvation stone too good.

>try to look up something
>find gamefaqs forum posts from when the ps1 version came out
Comfy

>Don't bother with having the best team possible, play the way you want.

but thats the main reason im playing the game in the first place. i want to know which classes learn which abilities so i come up with my favorite strategy.

what would be the point in that? every character would be the same

As long as you know the name changes the games progression is very similar and you can (for the most part) use those guides.

beating the treasure hunt dlc dungeon gets you a staff of resurrection

pretty nice, the boss was able to dish out a lot of damage
even at base 200 defense, plus spending the first turn kabuffing/gritty dittying to max defense, that boss still hit for like 150 dmg

One day you'll get that Omniheal off, little guy. One day.

So the only DQ games i've played are 1, 2, 3 and 9. 9 in particular I thought was really great, how does the DQ7 remake compare?

gamefaqs.com/boards/688276-dragon-quest-vii-fragments-of-the-forgotten-past/73896111

Comparable length to 8 with about the same story tone. Pacing is a bit different because the overarching plot doesn't really have many clues until a certain point.

Endgame is similar to 9. 9 might still edge it out with job rebirthing.

7 is widely considered to be the best, alongside 5, and for good reason. The remake is pretty good so far, and they cut down how long the intro takes compared to the original - which was a big complaint a lot of people always seemed to have back in the day.

thanks

>Spend the first 20 hours of the game with 4 abilities per characters.
>Finally unlock the classes.
>Grind slimes for a while to unlock some advanced classes.
>I now have three pages of abilities per characters and no idea which one are good.
This text based interface isn't helping figuring out stuff.

Hints about the Golden Horns?
It doesn't ring a bell to me.

I know that feel i grinded all 8 base jobs man.

Feels good.

Just beat the Bandits around Alltrades Abbey after getting fucked hard because my class levels weren't high enough.

Just wondering, do gaining levels in your vocation change your stats like levelling up does?

Which DQ should I start with as my first? IV, V, VI or VII?

do you (still) get permanent stat boosts for mastering a vocation?

what dumb fucking gook decided that it was a good idea to take all your fucking magic and abilities and then send you through a long ass cave with random staircase paths and pools of poison, then send you through some fucking dungeons, with the usual high as fuck encounter rate

What kind of fucking idiot believes in magic cleansing water?

Here's the thing your never going to forget alltrades abbey now are you?

THEN FUCKING PICK CLASSES THAT FIT THEIR FUCKING STATS DIPSHIT

>Has never heard of a baptism

What? it's way longer than 8

Not this time around.

excavation site where the skull is

Two quick questions.

11.I remember hearing some new classes were added, which are new classes not found in the ps1 version?

2. Which class(es?) teach sword dance?

You can be baptized in a river full of shit.

Are Hunter Mechs/Killing Machines in DQVII? Getting the game soon but I want to know when they're encountered, they're my favorite monster in the series.

>not having a edged bommerang for the hero and ruff
Buy a shit ton of medical herbs and you should be fine.

Quick save doesn't work on town, though. You need to be on overworld.

I haven't encountered the traditional design in my playthough. But a lot of classic monsters are in DLC tablets.

There is an entire arc dedicated to them quite early on in the story.

The meches are definitely cool, originally I thought they seemed a bit out of place for DQ but I like them a lot now. Favorite enemy myself is probably either heal slimes or golems.

>Guy who attacks twice with windsythes in All trade Arena

How do I not get fucked over? I'm 16 16 14 and can't beat him

shit keeps missin yo. then these fuckers go ham on me

Yeah, but the casino is right next to the town entrance.
If quicksaves were deleted upon resuming, it'd require a lot more dedication to savescum since you'd need to zoom to alltrades and run all the way back every time.

How are you losing you have your powers back. I had no issue with that shit.

>bought game launch day
>still hasn't even fucking shipped yet

I fucking HUEland

For fucks sake. That tiger and pig is so much fucking bullshit. Desperation attack and followup attack on the same character, happend three times now and there is no chance in hell that any of my character will survive that.

>give Maribel bunny outfit & ears + fishnet stockings
>don't get style bonus like the books implied you'd get for matched items
Am I missing some kind of casino-themed weapons/shields, or are those books full of shit?

i just beat that shit first try. had MC healing every turn with that salvation stone. party got blinded halfway in, had to defend a bunch and heal. take the pig out first

This one. That way you'll get to join the discussion.

I think I got a bunny tail latter on.

Yup. There's a bunny tail accessory.

First ime I was out of healing items, but beat the pig. The 2nd try they just focused one character at a time instead of spreading it out. The rapier wielding fuck did nothing.

after you do beat them, can just walk freely around the dungeon with no monsters to pick up whatever chests you missed.

I woke Maribel up after coming back from Balleymolloy and she said she had to get her skates on and rushed off. Where is she?

Nah the automatons on that island are different from the classic Killing Machines

fucking some random dude in an alley.

That's what I was afraid of. At least she wasn't with that Piers faggot.

So is sword dance still a hybrid skill? I made ruff a warrior to lvl 8, switched to dancer to lvl 6 or so, did 30 warrior battles then 30 dancer battles. The only skill i learned thats not on the wiki is Muscle Dance which is different.

I'll probably start over shortly. I somehow wound-up at fucking level 24 by the time I finished the All Trades Abbey stint.

They dumped hybrid skills. They've been re-mapped to classes & monster classes.

>starting a new game when you're like 20 or more hours in
What the fuck?
Just avoid battles/flee and the difficulty will correct itself eventually

How the fuck do you get to that level when you every battle only gives you god damn 100 or less experience till a few more areas.

Got a question Bros:

I keep coming upon shops with nicer and nicer armor and weapons, but I don't have NEARLY the cash for any of it unless I want to grind for hours on end, even with selling my old shit. Am I playing the game wrong, or are these weapon/armor upgrades supposed to be cock teases?

For those who needs money early in the game and don't want to grind, you can go to slime dungeon and raid the treasure chests in there. There are three chests and they contain 100-300 gold each.

Want to copy my save? I just finished alltrades abey myself.

Wait...the chests reset?

Thanks but no thanks. I actually don't mind restarting. I'll get there in half the time since I know what I'm doing now.

you can go forward without newer armor if you play smartly
you don't have to buy everything new on every town

Alternate who you purchase gear for each new shop you come across (pretty much whoever you haven't bought stuff for, for the longest), pass down old gear between members whenever possible.
Also, weigh your gold spent against the stat increase. It's not necessary to buy every piece of equipment at a new shop because the enemies you encounter are replaced at a staggered rate (so higher-level monsters gradually become mixed in with lower level ones, until they become the norm, so you'll never SUDDENLY find yourself outclassed) so try and make your money go further.

They do. You need to reset the dungeon by getting out and in first, though.

So I'm making the MC a Gladiator, Maribel a Sage and Ruff a Monster Masher

I was thinking of making the Hero a Pirate after that. He also has access to Armamentalist.

Maribel I'm thinking of making into a druid. She already has Troubadour mastered. Ruff I'm not sure but I guess I'll make him go paladin.

What does maribel wear when shes sleeping in an inn?

...

I'd say do the baseline classes you'll want first to get them all out of the way.
So go warrior>martial artist>mage>thief>sailor>gladiator>armamentalist>pirate>hero for example.

mfw some inns only got one bed.

>tfw crazy warrior protects another guy from monsters and dies a hero
;_;

nothing because she wants the hero to attack her while she's sleeping

Can you use hatchetman when you used other weapon other than axe?

Yes, nothing is weapon restricted

does the game get difficult at all?

this is one of the easiest DQ's i have ever played. im actually avoiding fights somewhat (only level 15 at the Alltrades Abbey fight when you get the high priestess back) and i am having literally no issues.

i want to be able to grind out my beginner classes but im worried that ill fuck myself over with the difficulty curve with any grinding at all

tl;dr does the game get hard ever or is it just comfy shit

I already have some progress in the Gladiator, Sage and Monster Masher classes but I guess I can run back and change. Probably go Priest for the hero for Fullheal and Zing.

I was underlvled around there and had some trouble in arena but. Now I got all jobs grinded i kick ass.

If you grind all the beginner classes like that, then you won't hit a roadblock till much later in the game (assuming you don't move on until these classes are done).

The game is all about skills and what you have at the moment. So I wouldn't recommend grinding them all if you still want to have a good time.

>It's a "teleporting pad dungeon with narrow pathways that make evading battles impossible episode

WHY

The difficulty spikes up after Alltrades
Don't grind if you want to keep it that way

What the heck is the deal with that entrance point in the northern ocean on the world map; I can't seem to access it (yet).
Is that the undersea city alluded to by the flying carpet lady?

never ever ever

fuck SE

No, the underwater city is way to the south of there near the middle of the map

Man these Abyss Divers are real motherfuckers, I mostly just hope Ruff puts them to sleep so they don't spam their fire breath all day and waste all my MP on heals

Gonna have to evac out and make a beeline through this place once I find the boss

fuck

I think he's referring to arena fights where you have to face 5 battles. At that point the spell/abilities haven't been restored yet.

Auster is the canon name, right?

>At that point the spell/abilities haven't been restored yet.
Yes they have. Unless the restoration is skippable in which case you can just go back and grab your damn abilities.

yes. Arus for the JP version

May as well go with it then. I like Arus better.

Kiefer seems pretty OP. He can hit like a truck with his Flame Slash and it doesn't cost any MP.

Just wait until you make your Hero a Warrior and Monk and he learns Focus Strength and Knuckle Sandwich. Easy 300 damage for 2 turns and 2 mp.

to the guy who said that "all" I had to do was just have a small hike to the alltrades abbey to get jobs

FUCK YOU

on that same vein does the DQ8 hero have a canon name yet with the 3DS release?

He's had エイト/Eito/Eight as his name in the manual/game trailers since the original I think

>tfw oomph+focus strength+ knuckle sandwich
With two gladiators I'm doing like 1000+ damage every other turn. Bosses get wrecked so hard.

So who's hear excited for DQ8.
>But muh graphics
Fuck graphics, the game still looks gorgeous and we get tons more brand new shit.

I'm still working on my third set of basic classes and I'm about to fight Gracos
Heavily debating finishing up the classes I'm on right now (Sailor/Dancer/Shepherd) and running back out to Alltrades to switch to advanced classes before taking him on.

I've already beaten DQ8 three times and I'm totally playing this new one solely to have Morrie in my party
The hard part is going to be replacing a party member with him though

That's obviously just a shitty placeholder since it's DQ8

That's like accepting the DQ9 hero's name is Nine when it'd obviously be a latin bird name.

Isn't the "canon" name usually just whatever's used in the manual anyways? Like how DQ5's Hero was Abel or something.

I just use my own name, DQ's the only series I play that I do that for.

i JUST finished that "small" hike

this fucking game man

>Stepping into the water instead of calling his bluff and getting your jobs
wew lad

When I press the Y button in Emberdale, it says the shop sells a Leather Dress, but when I go to the shop there's no such thing. Is it a mistake or am I retarded and don't know how to flip through a shop's inventory?

What's the level cap for job leveling on Al-Balad? I got Paladin and Gladiator unlocked for MC and Ruff and only Sage for Mabriel. MC and Mabriel are 21 with Ruff at 20.

I'm new to the Dragon Quest games and I only own a PC and an Android phone.

Which one do I play first?

>Ruff's pirate costume doesn't feature an eye patch for his wolf mom

ONE.
GODDAMN.
JOB.

...

I'm about 3 hours in and just finished that first island, how long until it get's a little less handholdish and i have my final party?

>You develop nostalgia
>Good

So I can get called out as a nostalgiagooglefaggot? No thanks.

Nope, I'm 16 hours in and just finished robot pirate island
It's very linear but the story is so great I go out of my way to talk to everyone and collect everything and explore every inch of every island

>does the game get hard ever
Don't fall asleep while battling the boss on the Frobisher island

>Old Man Riffer reveals who he is
God damn I love when island stories intertwine.

>and i have my final party
Many many MANY hours.

Where is the statue for the puzzle in present day conjuratorium?

>how can I be as contrarian as possible

>does the game get difficult at all?
If you stop using skills and weapons correctly, yeah. Plenty of people were having trouble because they didn't use boomerangs.

For a seasoned DQ player, no. This game is easy. At least compared to the original PS1 game or Dragon Quest II.

Stuck in Faraday Castle, present.

{spoiler]Ambrose got locked up and I'm supposed to talk to him in the dungeon. I took the stairs on the second floor of the castle, outside and to the upper right of the throne room. There's what look to be cell bars and a lever on the other side, but the door's locked. I'm assuming that's where I need to go

I've talked to the king and ELLIE. The king did mention to not lock the door in the scene earlier. What could I be missing/doing wrong?
{spoiler]>spoiler tagging a 16 year old game
apparently i'm a dumbass and can't tag shit

>Fighting Gracos
>Doing alright, need to take a few turns to reapply Buff/Wooly Blanket/Dazzle though
>Old Man Riffer attacks!
>13 damage!
>Gracos has been defeated!

>Me llamo Antonia. My name is Antonia
Why is everyone in this damn town repeating themselves!

Rotate the camera, there's another lever.

Ctrl+S

lol fuck
thanks

don't know if it helps anyone, but it seems like you don't even need to talk to ambrose, you can just go straight back to frobisher and find his granddaughter.

Damn, I didn't mind the slowness of the game for the most part, but that last stretch before you unlock Alltrades Abbey. Taking away your abilities for such an extended period suuucks since it turns the game into mash attack and use an occasional healing item. Fortunately the end sequence and boss after you get you skills back was pretty good

I liked it because it was pretty tense having gimped healing, and it was satisfying when you got your powers back and lead the charge against the priest.
also spoilers pal

>After the reveal your party members seem completely oblivious and still talk about "that strange old guy" and how they wonder where he learned those skills

What's the difference between muster strength and focus strength?

>Know enough Spanish to understand everything they're saying anyway so it just feels like they're literally repeating themselves

That area was frustrating

This game is cute

Exactly. I grew up in Southern California so it just sounds like I'm listening to Dora the Explorer.

Not when you go to Frobisher

>Get the Thief's Key
>Can't open the chest in the Pilchard Bay item store
>Get the Magic Key
>STILL can't open the chest
I'm gonna get the Ultimate Key and find out that chest only had like 10 gold in it, aren't I?

Just grabbed the game, anything worth knowing before i start?
Anything permanently missable?

>you unlocked the chest
>you found a pointy hat!
>you put the pointy hat in the bag

>download game cause read lots of fun stuff about puzzles and job system
>5 hours in and it's Pokemon tier puzzles, linear dungeons and no jobs in sight

Did i fall for a meme or does it get better?

>in the bag
Sort your character inventories lazy-bones.

Why can only Kiefer equip whips for example? Is it stat based or class based? because i dont see my guys having different classes

I'm quite early in the game and I think the accents are kind of fun. I especially like Emberdale, where everyone talks like they're from't north.

>Implying they're not full of consumables and equipment with magic effects

You purposefully keep medicinal herbs and antidotal herbs on your characters so items automatically go into the bag.

It should be only Maribel that can equip whips

And each character has their own list of which items they can and can't equip, it has nothing to do with class or stats, Maribel can always equip whips regardless of class, same with Ruff and fangs, and so on

Equipment is character based
And only Maribel can equip whips, besides a few exceptions

Do you mean Maribel? She's the only one who can equip whips.

Incorrect!
There's a whip called the Dragontail whip (or something) that she can't equip, but Hero can. I came across it recently but didn't feel like buying it.

Yeah there are exceptions but *in general* whips are Maribel only, and there being exceptions just proves my point

Not much of a point, especially if you make Hero a Martial Artist for Roundhouse Kick.

is the garter used for anything or should I just sell it for an easy 1650 gold

im over 20 in and just got jobs but i must admit i have not encountered puzzles besides the colored stones in the begining at least nothing worth remembering
i still have a blast

It's a good style accessory if you want to get up in the rankings in El Ciclo

What is the "style" stat?

>Fucking finally find the Mini Medal castle
>Have 49 mini medals
>Only good enough to get a Poison Needle
Ho Lee Fuck
At least the next reward is at 50, Staff of Divine Wrath

... Wait isn't that the shitty one that only casts Swoosh?

It ups your style a lot (for a later contest). You can also use it for better defense for a short time.

How is this?

One of my favorite musou games, and it perfectly captures the charm of the series right down to the dub voicework

Correct.
Although jesus fuck those rewards are trash.
I've gotten two Poison Needles from Thief/Pirate drops, and that staff from savescumming the Casino Flip.

...

Finally finished the art tower in the present. That damn puzzle took me too long.

So we'll never know about Emilia's history, would we?

Poison Needle's not bad, gives Maribel a viable metal slime hunting option if you aren't gonna bother making her a Warrior or Gladiator at least. I never got one from the casino flip though, just a bitching Warhammer for the Hero that I've been using for the past 20 hours of the game. Still haven't found anything better, shit's ridiculous.

I also want to know

>Ruff can equip a flowing dress
Is there something he isn't telling us?

Man fuck the boss at the end of the arena

I'm level 17, and people say they're 15 and getting to the part with jobs

How do you guys do it? She destroyed my party with kacrackle so much, and the companion you get was being a tard and not healing the whole time

the dude was originally a wolf, he probably hates pants

So I think you get the item that lets you use Monster Meadows at ~30-35 hours in, in the present version of the island where you fought Gracos. I'll have to take it back to The Haven and find out for sure.

Maybe his wolfmom wears it

>the douche in pink that thought he was destined to be a hero and used the soul stealer ended up just dying like a bitch offscreen

lol

Do not bully the Ruff. That item in particular has been called a robe or clothes multiple times and I remember everyone could wear it in II.

>But wait!!!!!!!! What about my sister?!?!?!?!?!
>Party just walks turns around and walks away

>cardinal sin uses his double ball asshole attack
>before I can even heal it he uses Bang and Sizzle

>the clock dungeon
>wow this is cool
>warp tiles

>press B after an event expecting the party to say something
>nothing

Mfw rekt his ass snoozed him and annihilated him.

>find what I presume is Kiefer's grave
>nobody has anything to say

The fucking tiger and pig right before Alltrades has wiped my party like 3 times now. Running out of gold from resurrections. Any tips on them or do I just need to grind out a couple levels?

Also, how bad of an idea would it be to get two casters when I hit Alltrades? Thinking Priest for Hero, Mage for Maribel, and I'm not sure yet for Ruff.

>Maribel is now a Door-to-Door Druid
What exactly did they mean by such a thing?

Kill the tiger first. The pig barely does anything.

Have Maribel spam the Salvation Stone or Herbs every single turn since she does dick all for damage during that part of the game anyways

>I sense the presence of tablet in the Temple Palace.. It can be found at the end of a hidden passageway...

I went to the past and present temple palace and can't fight shit. My radar does not go off. Is my game broke?

Talk to the Queen

How do you unlock druid?

Go outside and talk to the queen on her throne. It tripped me up too

thanks guy.

Oh shit I forgot about the salvation stone. Does it just heal in battle? Didn't do shit outside of battle.

yeah it's basically an infinite use herb in-battle.

Yeah, it's a shitty version of the Sage's Stone basically. Single target, 20-30 HP

Does Sandstorm has the same effect as Dazzle? Or is one of them more potent than the other?

wait the queen in the past or present?

They can stack, I think

Luminary + Sage.

Cool I am half way there.

It seems I'm close to finishing up the plates on all of the pedestals. Am I near the end?

>The Time Being

>58 Medals = Kamikazee Bracer
Fuck's sake when do I get to the good shit?

Past. You can't talk to the one in the present.

in my game way past sand area bitch no were near throne.

you don't want the one where the present queen is sitting but the one outside the building.

Thanks dude just got it. Thanks a lot this had me scratching my head for some time.

>I have enough fragments to actually pick one of two islands to do next
Evens = Red, Odds = Green, let's do this shit

Past bitch is in town present bitch wont speak to me.

grinding jobs, what's the class that has the heal abilities? dancer?

You need to talk to the chief's son to get the queen to move
>Not talking to every NPC

I did hmm usually do.

How far are you in the story? I came back there a little later and she was sitting outside in the temple palace.

I'm stuck in faraday. The people at the castle are telling me to go to the robot stronghold, while the one guy at the stronghold tells me to go to the castle. Did I miss something?

Anyone know what to do with the "Enclosure Plans"? I tried bringing them to Monster Meadows but I still can't do jack shit there.

Guess I'll just continue the story

I never played the original but wasn't Gracos V supposed to be hard?

I managed to beat him at lv24

You're a higher level than I was
He wasn't so bad as long as you kept Dazzle and Wool Coat up at all times.

Hm after el cielo in next past island forgot name.

>meet the wind spirit
>she's a total slut

"Ay! I'm falling down ze stairs!"

Kek your right Maribel was pissed she was all over her man.

you're prob looking at the wrong shop

the shop with the shield sign sells armor, shop with sword sells weapons and the shop with the feather sells consumables

I'm not sure what I'm suppose to get in this dungeon (the desert island after you revived the serpent/dragon) because all the doors upstairs are closed for reasons and I can't progress further. I talked to every NPCs but I don't get anything from them.

you gonna have to be more specific

what part of the story are on you, in relation to the island

you have to wait until you find the monster meadows island in the present

Nah, turns out the Leather Dress was just something special the merchant only sold during the flame festival.

Huh, this town talks about the Goddess instead of the Almighty

I must find a way to save the desert queen (past) and the screenshot is where I am.

No. For the trailers they called him "Eight", but that's not canon. I'm not aware of any manga made detailing the game that is considered canon like other DQ's got.

Given the names used in DQVIII (Angelo, Yangus, Jessica, David, and several others - all which fit a theme of God in some way), it would likely be Johan or something.

...

I just took the raft with the elder to get the queen's necklace back from the scholar. I Don't have enough pieces to make a new island and i the yellow gay thing won't give me any hints on what to do next.

When i check to see where the fragment is it says i am not able to get any

oh now I remember

use the sand thing they gave you on that

did you already re-visit the past for the desert place?

>Bandits around Alltrades Abbey

holy fuck why were they so hard? I had to stall until the mage dude ran out of mana.

>mfw finding Lavender's grave

I got the piece from the queen's bedroom. and returned her necklace with the new village elder. I can't figure out where to go from here. Do i need to go back to village? I'm going to right now but if that is not the direction i'm suppose to go please let me know. I always hate desert levels in game and this has been no different

Nigga you're retarded if you can't figure out what to do there

I was surprised too I think only one of my party member was a live.
>their boss was easier than them

Did you get the piece at the dig site?

Yup

Holy lol she is hilariously thirsty for Hero's dick.

>People think Lavender and Caraway's story was "Sad"

Lavender was a slut and Dill and Caraway Somehow managed to Cuck each other out of any happiness. Worst story and worst island

Hey i figured it out. I am just a retard. Ignore me lol

go to the tablet place, check which island is one fragment away from being completed and let me know

give me a good description (number of pieces, color and shape)

It was a mistake to change vocations and have all my stats drop before facing bandits

Past or present because a lot goes on in that area
Took me 2 days to finish it

Should I go for monster classes or advanced classes first? Monster classes' permanent skills sound tempting.

I did the same mistake
sorry but yes I am that retarded.
Thanks to this guyif it wasn't for that I would have keep on wondering for HOURS.

>use snooze
>the enemy is unaffected
Every fucking time

My 3ds needs to stay away from open windows

Isn't she great?

>Cast Snooze
>Nothing happens
>Enemy casts Snooze
>everyone falls asleep
>FOR 3 TURNS

almost raged quit at that shit

Some people also think soap operas are sad. I thought it was pretty clear that part of the story was pointing out how each character was wrong.

I would of rekt his bitch ass with out snooze too.

Withered heart can't be the worst island because Providence and Vogograd exist.

>naw dude that's a boss snooze doesn't work
>it does
>Jacqueline scores 2 crits on him

Is it just me or did Maribel start showing much more of her dere side on the desert? Almost every comment she says to the Hero sounds like an indirect marriage proposal.

Yup. Which is obvious before you even go to your first island.

Yeah if it says isn't affected by it doesn't mean its immune.

She starts showing a lot more of her soft side as time goes on. The best part so far was when she gets mad at you for not saying she's attractive enough for other men to hit on her. But then the alternative is she gets mad if you say she's not attractive.

>the prayer ring broke!

how am i going to let maribel spam bang when I have her set to "fight wisely" now?

Really? Because before I went to the first island, all I knew was that Maribel didn't want me and Keifer to have fun ever under any circumstances, and she had like a 30 year old boyfriend in the city.

post yfw Focus/Muster Strength + Knuckle Sandwich

What's the level cap on jobs?

She later reveals that she's only leading him on for free clothes.

>She complains that she's tired of walking
>Asks Hero to carry her

is there a point to the teleportal rooms in the shrine?

>oh this teleportal in the volcano takes me back to the shrine
>but I have zoom soooooo???????

Let's not forget finding Keifer's grave.

Dragon Quest VII does it's damnedest to punch you in the gut and balls at every opportunity.

Did you read the party chat? She's talking about the hero every chance she gets.

One takes you to a place you can't get to otherwise

when you get 8 stars, if you click attributes it's yellow if its maxed

Thanks.

>Dragon Quest VII does it's damnedest to punch you in the gut and balls at every opportunity.
I fucking wanted to piss on his grave. Give me back my seeds you fucker.

Why couldn't I be born a sexy woman so I could pull this shit

Well no shit, if I hit the talk button to talk to my party members, I damn well fucking expect them to talk back to me.

She's leading the old dude on for free shit, while every word out of her mouth is "MC this" and "MC that". It'd be hilarious how much she wants his cock if it wasn't for the fact that she's "16".

...

so hes 16 too.

>"Hey, are you even listening to me, Hiro? Hmph!"

Oh shit, Gladiator gets an ability that works just like Kabuff too

there's a lot of cucking going on in this game

>Dill gets jealous as fuck of carraway who is too much of a pussy to elope with Lavender, Cayenne wants them to elope so she can have Dill
>Kiefer cucks Florin
>Zev gets cucked by Eustace

>Kiefer cucked a smelly hippy and lived a life of adventure fucking hot dancer pussy.

Truly a better man does not exist

At least Zev knew it was time to bail and grew some self-awareness. CAn't say the same for the other two.

>No option to take a big steaming shit on his grave

>this part in the undersea palace with the raising/lowering bridges

for fucks sake. there's only two ways to the stairs and both of the bridges are always down no matter what combination i try.
