7. Link's Awakening
8. Twilight Princess
9. The Legend of Zelda
10. Oracle of Seasons/Ages
11. Spirit Tracks
12. Phantom Hourglass
13. The Adventure of Link
14. Skyward Sword

Phantom Hourglass comes ahead of Minish Cap
But otherwise, yes this list is correct

You forgot to put "shit" in the number 1 spot

...

1. Majora's Mask
2. Link's Awakening
3. Ocarina of Time
4. Link Between Worlds
5. Link to the Past
6. Minish Cap
7. Twilight Princess
8. Wind Waker
9. Oracle games
10. Zelda 1
11. Zelda 2
>Everything below this point is not really worth playing
12. Four Swords Adventures
13. Skyward Sword
14. Four Swords
15. Phantom Hourglass

Didn't play Spirit Tracks

Look I like ALBW too but it's not top 5 material. No curve in difficulty is terrible.

Putting WW that high

1. Link's Awakening
2. Majora's Mask
3. Twilight Princess
4. Oracle of Seasons/Ages
5. Minish Cap
6. A Link to the Past
7. Wind Waker
8. Ocarina of Time
9. Link Between Worlds
10. Phantom Hourglass
11. Spirit Tracks

Haven't played any other of the games.

Only one i haven't been able to play is skyward sword, why is everyone shitting on it? Is it really that bad?

What makes Link's Awakening so good?

>Motion controls

Egoraptor said so.

Even without the motion controls, it's thoroughly mediocre. Neutered in just about every way.

>2. The Wind Waker
>3. A Link Between Worlds

Your (You), I guess.

It was beautiful. The music, the scenery, the layout of Koholint Island. I don't know, for a game that should have been a complete mess, it was really good.

Here's my list anyway:

kill yourself

Reminder
Pleeb
Ocarina
SS
Alttp

Patrician
MM
Windwaker

God tier
Links awakening
Tp

A good director and very straight-forward gameplay with a hint of whimsy. And great music.

>OOT not in the top 5

Good job user. That shit has not aged well. Too bad you're a fedoralover though. No worries I am too MM was superior to OOT in every way fuck the haters that spew BUT REHASH

>WW that high

Kill youself, retard.

I found the motion controls okay, but there wasn't much to explore. When you did explore, it was basically the same 3 locations everytime.

forced motion controls broseph

just wait on a HD rerelease that makes it optional.

>Minish Cap over Oracle(s) and Awakening

Mcfucking kill yourself mate

The game was literally built around the controls. They're never gonna be able to port it without completely rebuilding the control scheme.

fatass

>2016
>people are STILL posting their autistic little tier lists that say nothing about the games.

Are you just pretending to be retarded?

>OOT
>not aged well
>MM
>has

Please explain.

Majora's Mask is definitely not the best Zelda of all time. It's my favorite, but no way.

twilight princess managed.

not much to do for zelda standards
motion controls for the sword were okay but were abysmal during flying

The Ballad of the Windfish is fucking epic. I cry manly tears every time

They can't. They are literal fedora wearing, dick worshiping, faggots. They have no logic to their argument and they should be ignored at every opportunity.

I don't care about everything in between, but Skyward Sword is 100% the worst. If Breath of the Wild has the same bullshit explanation mechanic that never goes away no matter how many times you pick up an object, I will drop it in a heartbeat.

literally the only thing I didn't like are the motion controls. they just wouldn't work out for me.

Twilight Princess wasn't built around the gamecube controller, thus remapping actions to the wiimote was easy.

a lot of the things that OoT ages poorly on also apply to MM

>pleeb

It's pleb, as in "plebeian" you disgusting philistine

But aside from graphically OoT hasn't aged that poorly.

Even that's not a very strong argument since the 3DS version fixes that problem (along with others)

>inb4 "my atmosphere!"

I don't get the "oot aged poorly" complaint. the only thing I can think of that was bad is having to equip and unequip iron boots and that was fixed in 3d.

All Zelda games are so good that it's fucking impossible to have a consistent ranking, it's very subjective.

The only "objective" list I could think of is this:

Majora's Mask
Ocarina of Time
A Link to the Past
The Wind Waker
Link's Awakening
A Link Between Worlds

The positions are slightly interchangeable but this is definitely the list of top-tier Zelda. I rated ALBW low because it's relatively new and opinion will fluctuate over time.

The other games in the series have certain issues that some people hate and others don't mind, so it's too hard to rank those.

20fps
minimal camera control

Even the N64 version plays perfectly fine. Sure there's a few annoyances with item equipping but it's a very small part of the game.

So? Neither of these affect the gameplay

>2. The Wind Waker
No, TWW is an objectively shit game.
>Next to no actual exploration
>Huge ocean that takes fucking ages to cross until you get the warp song
>Having the warp defeats the point of exploring the ocean anyway
>Nothing to do but watch the color blue while an enemy pops up to keep you awake
>Each section has only one island
>The majority of those islands have just one point of interest which is usually minor and will give you no reason to even want to return
>Shit selection of items
>Combat is wait until the the tells you to press A
>Those fucking partner dungeons
>Have to change the wind every time you want to do something

It looks pretty and had a decent story for fuck no, putting it that high is beyond generous

>2016
>having opinions
oh wait

People don't want to admit it, but MM introduced a lot of the problems that plague later Zelda games. There's a stupid amount of filler bullshit between the dungeons

such as?

I'm pretty much a Zelda noob. From the games I've played this is my list.

1. A Link Between Worlds
2. Twilight Princess (HD)
3. Link's Awakening
4. Ocarina of Time (3D)

I've started Minish Cap and it's fun.
I've also played the Original and Zelda 2 but those don't hold up well and I can't bring myself to play more than an hour of them.
I look forward to playing ALTTP

You're saying the most you can formulate your opinions is in these dumb little GOD TIER SHIT TIER meme lists?

>Twilight Princess (HD)
KEK

lol sry. It's the way I played it and I'm pretty sure the experience varies from the original a little bit.

The only Zelda game without filler is the first one.

That said, "filler" is generally used to describe something boring, easy, or meaningless in the game. The stuff you do in MM is fun, so it isn't filler. The only bad part about the game is the pre-Stone Tower fetch quest in the sewer. Overall thought I think most people would say MM has far less filler than, say, Skyward Sword or Wind Waker.

people HAVE been shitting out these opinions for years. now its all a matter of being completely cynical and crude about which is in which 'tier' because of the reasons they keep spewing over.

of course it's not the best. the original is still king.

okay memelord I gotcha. You're not the chosen hero, there's no zelda, no ganon and some asshat with a spoopy mask puts you on your ass and turns you into treefolk. No other zelda handles death and the consequences it entails as much. The characters though repurposed all had a sense of purpose because of the sidequests you did for them. Playing as the other races never felt tacked on though a bit cumbersome with inventory management. Dungeons were allowed to be more complex because of the increased tools. The Water Temple didn't have shit on the Great Bay Temple. I was more invested in the narrative in MM than in OOT. Completing MM felt more rewarding than OOT because all you got for getting more heart pieces was just that. Completing sidequests in MM in comparison gave you another another inkling in the characters. They aren't complex but they aren't just NPCs that prattle on about the same stuff day in day out they have schedules. The extra shit was plentiful and easier to keep track of especially in the 3DS port and every mask meant something. You didn't get the Bunny Hood just because it made you run faster, the rooster boy was depressed because the skull kid ruined the chance to see his cuccos grow up and granted him his wish by helping out.

Long story short MM was much more fleshed out from a world building perspective.

He's laughing because you ranked it above two of the absolute classes, beloved games.

Play ALTTP then Majora's Mask 3D next.

>Skyward Sword not in the top 5
You're a special kind of stupid aren't you?

that's like saying Resident Evil 4 is shit because it caused 5, 6, and The Evil Within to happen.

ss is not top 5 material

Everything after the village is shit. Kys

Meh I have no bias man (only for ALBW because first zelda game beat). And I absolutely appreciate everything Ocarina Of Time did for the series and for videogames in general but to me Twilight Princess is an improved Ocarina of time...

1. Ocarina of Time
2. Majoras Mask
3. The Legend of Zelda
4. Wind Waker
5. A Link to the Past
6. Minish Cap
7. Link's Awakening
8. Oracle Series
9. Four Swords Adventures
10. Twilight Princess
11. Skyward Sword
12. Spirit Tracks
13. Phantom Hourglass
14. Four Swords

1. A Link to the Past
2. Wind Waker
3. Twilight Princess
4. Everything else

My faggoty top 5 list, with reasons! I'm an old fart, keep that in mind

>5:Ocarina of time
The game that successfully set the bar for 3D adventure games. Cool dungeons, cool swordplay, great music, memorable bosses and that ending

>4:ALTTP
Fair game, interesting overworld, well made dungeons, nostalgia value. Not too long or short, cool secrets packed in to upgrade weapons, some of the best bosses in the series

>3: OOS/OOA
Took influence from LA, improved some things. Has very interesting partner animals, the music was great, the cross game content was cool as fuck for the time. OOS>OOA still, triggered ages fans incoming.

>2: Minish Cap
I rate this so high because despite the low difficulty curve, and the small world it takes a interesting concept, runs with it and absolutely succeeds in everything it tries to do. Kinstones hutns, the sword technique guys, the explorable microworlds, the music, the bosses, it's Zelda overhead style executed perfectly.

>1:Zelda 2:AOL
This is my #1 because it takes a interesting 2D style unique in the series and delivers a challenging but fair game in a rustic world. It feels like a real Zelda adventure, and if nothing else I wish the rest of the series took influence in idealogical direction this game went. Even if you throw out the EXP system, the 2D, or the fucking awesome magic system, or the cool overworld with tons of nice hidden stuff. The general driving design behind the game should have become a more influential force behind the series. Its simple yet complex combat despite being on the NES is still some of the best in the series. The hidden content behind someone cryptic NPC riddles gives you a good sense of discovery when you figure it out. It's just a Zelda adventure done right.

Games I didn't mention. 6>10 would go WW>TP>LA>MM>FSA, skyward sword is flat out gimmick garbage and doesnt deserve mention. Never played the DS games or ALBW, might check em out someday. prolly forgettin one.

Why do people rate MM so highly? It is literally a rom hack of OoT.

I played the original back in 2000 and I also bought the 3DS remake - but I just can't get into it.

Even with the time slowed down, the on-screen ticking clock strips away any enjoyment of exploration (which is one of defining strengths of the series).

I can appreciate some people like the quirkiness of it. But there is no fucking way on this earth that MM is objectively a better game than OoT.

If you're an older fan like me, you should definitely check out ALBW, it's the best Zelda game in years.

Because it is the same engine and graphics though slightly updated from OoT. That's why it's so good. I love how OoT handles and looks so seeing there is more of that with different places to explore and gander at makes it pretty rad in my book. I find it equal to OoT but it depends on my mood which I choose over which to play.

I hate the edgy git image people are making MM have now. It was fine when it was only in the creepy pastas when it was it's own thing but now Nintendo caught on. It's too fucking much. If anything keep it to Twilight Princess that was made purely for the muh darkness and realismz fans.

wind waker was a fucking failure of a game
development needed 2 more years to finish it, even 1 more year wouldn't be enough

>cut THREE dungeons from the game
>cut 1/3 of the major town-islands
>2 remaining dungeons were shitty escort missions
>2 remaining dungeons were just "recycle this exact same gameplay from a few hours earlier"
>2/3 of the great sea was copy/pasted filler islands
>the great sea had no variety whatsoever, the entire overworld was one static biome with 3-4 enemies
>combat was complete ass
>bosses with one or two exceptions were complete ass
>fetch quests up the fucking ass to pad gameplay length
>items were all copy/pasted from OOT/MM, this is the zelda game with the least original items in all the games, even oracle games had more
>tedious transportation

A link to the past, ocarina of time and majora's mask are the only Tier 1 zelda games
links awakening and oracle games are tier 2
everything else starts stinking it up for various reasons.

because MM was objectively a good game with a huge and detailed world, lots of unique questlines, a whole crapton of new mechanics, gimmicks and good combat between the monsters and bosses.

having an unoriginal engine and recycled models was a mark against it, but they were able to use the advantage of so much less development resources invested into production that they could focus on gameplay and detail and gold plating instead

MM with its own engine and graphics would have been a better game

The dungeons are the best since OoT/MM.

...

Fedora-tier garbage

top tier:
>cistern
>sky keep
passable tier:
>mining facility
>earth temple
>skyview
>sand ship
just try to forget this shit exists tier:
>fire sanctuary
I have to admit thats a lot stronger lineup than twilight princess and its single good dungeon or wind waker and its 0 good dungeons

>some of the best bosses in the series
I am replaying it now and I think the bosses are completely forgettable and stupidly easy. Oot bosses are better and the fact that you get the introduction, name and title makes them more memorable.

moldorm and agahnim were pretty iconic and went on to be recycled by the series a bunch
armos knights were kinda cool
rest were trash

>all these shit list

all I know is nintendo did a great job with ALBW's and nintendo fanboys did not deserve such a game

yeah they did a great job with ALTTP
and then rereleased it with a few minor changes and called it a new game

>1. Majora's Mask
>3. A Link Between Worlds

Stopped reading there

1. Oracle of Season
2. Twilight Princess
3. Ocarina of Time
4. Adventures of Link
5. LttP
6. Links Awakening
7. Majora's Mask
8. Minish Cap
9. The legend of Zelda
10. Skyward Sword
11. The Wind Waker
12. A link Between Worlds

>ancient cicsertn

my nigger

Agree with the rest, remember getting really board of the second fire one

why is oracle of seasons so much better than oracle of ages
serious question never played either but I know they're like identical aren't they

Seasons mechanic is much better imo. In ages, theres only certain parts where you can actually use the harp to warp through time, whereas seasons has more stumps you can hop on to switch between the seasons. along with this, Seasons imo had great dungeons and bosses, while ages felt a lot more lacking

but ages is still good on its own

It's not
Ages is better, but both of the games are the best in the series anyway.

>Bitching about content we know nothing about
>describing things with negative adjectives but no elaboration
>Considers Majora's Mask a tier 1 Zelda game when everything done wrong in WW is done worse in Majora's Mask

What a wonderful post

3D Zelda:
1. Ocarina of Time
2. Twilight Princess
3. Majora's Mask
4. Skyward Sword
5. Wind Waker

2D Zelda:
1. Oracle of Ages
2. Oracle of Seasons
3. A Link Between Worlds
4. A Link to the Past
5. Link's Awakening
6. The Minish Cap
7. The Legend of Zelda
8. Spirit Tracks
9. Phantom Hourglass
10.The Adventure of Link
11. Zelda's Adventure
12. Wand of Gamelon
13. Faces of Evil

Multiplayer/Other:
1. Hyrule Warriors
2. Triforce Heroes
3. Four Swords Adventures
4. Four Swords
5. Link's Crossbow Training

we know plenty about the content

greatfish isle was cut, as was the oceanfloor temple which was supposed to have a water-level mechanic. Fire mountain dungeon was cut and became goron mines in TP. The ice dungeon was planned but never even started production
you had to backtrack through the entire forsaken fortress a second time for gameplay padding
ganon's tower was just "redo these 4 boss fights from earlier in the game", more game length padding
then all the fetch quests

if you want to see how bad a problem it was, you need only look at a map of the great sea
>49 squares total
>5 fairy islands
>6 reefs
>3 triangle islands
>4 completely empty slots (archipelagos / crescent)

several of the remaining islands were barely more content than a single grotto in any other zelda game.
ex. star island is just an empty island with a few boulders on it, a copy/pasted grotto underneath where you fight some enemies in a row and get a piece of heart
