Because since Zone of Enders nothing worthwhile was released.

>Why did the mech game genre completely die in the west?
Because the genre is associated with Mechwarrior franchise in the West, which is famous for its slow paced, tactical and teamwork focused combat and casuals don't like any of these things.

We still have MWO and the upcoming HBS Mechwarrior TBS game, though.

The HBS BattleTech game will revive it.

animu is passe now

No interest. Koreans dominate online play.

Because nothing actually new was happening with them.

TANKS VS MECHS ONLINE NOW REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The technology is already here and balancing the game would be a piece of cake.

Might be nice.
When is it coming?

I think mech design is stale as they are all huge bulky pieces of shit.

>Not liking hulking metal monstrosities

I bet you like Gundam Seed too

Mechs are unrealistic and dumb

>Hate mechs
>Hate tanks
Yet I find great.
Help?

The amount of energy needed for that thing to take one step is ridiculous.

Fucking terrible.

How many steelbatallion niggas we got up in hurr?

You either simplify it and it ends up eastern or you make it complex and nobody will buy it

It's dead everywhere now, senpai.

Not sure why it died, but the exact time it did die was when Mechwarrior was put on a console as a third person shooter.

I miss Chromehounds

...

...

That is exactly the fucking point.

It is the literal personification of brute force FUCK YOU. It's barely even a mech, It is more akin to a mobile fortification.

IT'S A WALKING CASTLE HERE TO TO FUCK YOU AND EVERYONE YOU KNOW.

Simple, it runs on 40k logic.

...

>Tanks vs mechs

Because all the teenagers who buy the majority of games want the same realistic shooters year after year instead.
/thread

>mech game genre

they're just first person shooters. the 'mech' theme is one of many that had a surge in popularity and then dwindled, much like zombie shooters.

Heavy Gear was the last great western mech series, and probably the greatest made

HG1 was a masterpiece desu

How do I even play MW4 Merc's these days?

By downloading the game and installing it, you dumb pilot.

west can't into mecha

Rule of cool

I miss Line of Contact.

Late next year or early 2018.

It's garbage

This, quite frankly.

>west can't into mecha
>mecha
This. West can't into anime-tier arcade shooters for brain-dead weeaboo mongoloids, who are too dumb to play actual simulators like MW3.

>The amount of energy needed for that thing to take one step is ridiculous.
You are retarded and know nothing about electric motor drives. Stop pretending like your opinion is based on some sort of valid knowledge and is not just pulled out of your ass.

>enjoying reskinned COD

titanfall?

>look up if there is steel battalion on sale
>290 GBP

Should i?

>reskinned COD
I'm not even going to comment on how dumb you are. Out of all the things you could've said to insult Western mech games, you've literally chosen the dumbest shit to say, congratulations.

>someone proves you wrong
>wahh retard retard here´s a l-link to pewdiepie videos
why i even keep coming in here? the website´s pure shit

...

Because no one is funding them

>proves
Pulling dumb shit out of your ass does not count as "proof" and no, I'm not the guy you had an "argument" originally. I've literally posted you an IRL example of an actually working, commercial hexapod mech, yet you still choose to spout retardation despite me giving you actual proof.

Kill yourself, mongoloid, you'll just do this board a favor.

...

DELET THIS
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

sorry

I-i didn't think you actually would.

>actual proof
I knew you guys are masters of telling lies to yourself but this is some expert level delusion

>spending this much time to convince randoms that ur mech would actually work irl
lmao at ur life nerd

Not him but those games are just kind of boring. Most of the fun for me is building and customizing a mech. Every mechwarrior game I've played is just picking a mech and choosing the weapons or something.

I'm pretty sure we're getting a new Battletech game from the Shadowrun Dragonfall devs.

What the fuck did you just say about me you little bitch?

Dick literally diamonds. I wish this didn't cost so much.

>why did the mech game genre compeletely die in the west
Because it was only being held up by mechwarrior, and MW5 went through development hell.

And the MWO devs fucked over the MWLL devs to such a huge degree that it left bad blood which alienates a fair portion of what should be their core fanbase to this fucking day.

What a surprise, something battletech related being horribly mismanaged and full of overzealous companies fucking people over.
