Not a fan of MGS4, and never played Nier, but you're pretty patrician yourself.

Solatorobo is definitely one of the games I want a sequel too most, probably will never happen...who knows, maybe we just need to wait over a decade again for another installment.

Cave Story will always be the alpha indie hit in my eyes, even if I like Plague of Shadows more.

A somewhat basic beat em up robot exploration game, with unparalleled and almost unfairly good world building, plot, characters, and ost. Art style is also damn good in my eyes, but more subjective.

Japanese action-RPG developed by Cyberconnect2, creators of the .hack// series, the Naruto fighting games, and Asura's Wrath.
Its a spiritual successor to Tail Concerto taking place in the same world as it.

Has an extremely huge amount of focus on worldbuilding with a strong plot (especially in the second half of the game), strong character focus (with every characters, even unimportant side characters, getting some time to flesh them out), and decent music. Has super easy and super simple gameplay involving lifting objects and enemies up and throwing them or catching projectiles shot at you and throwing them back at enemies.

Now that sounds super nifty, amigo. Nice looking robot design there as well. Thanks, user.

Nah, I would've included more PC stuff if that was the case.
I definitely like SJ more for the atmosphere, although IV is great too. I like NMH2 more because it made the sections in between missions fun instead of tedious. Also playing as Shinobu and Henry.

I like the atmosphere and overall sci-fi tone of SJ more, but the characters and setting of IV more, on top of the MC not being an item vendor late game. SJ does a lot of things better though.

I will agree the side stuff in NMH2 was less tedious, I just liked the bosses a lot more in 1 with a few key exceptions.

Muv-Luv Alternative, it's a Visual Novel so it may not technically be considered a "game" by a lot of people.

Well for one, after two weeks of having exams and no vidya. This was the first vidya game I was able to play after I finished my last exam. I played the whole thing in one night and loved every little bit of it, so it's always got good memories. All of those games do.

Incidenally, I've always loved the scenario Half Life was in, and it felt nice to be alone one second, and then killing spec ops marines with half your marine buddies at other times. Halo 3 ODST is in a similar vain, and I would probably put it on my 3x3 as well, but honestly I can't pick a favourite Halo.

Actually I just completed the first one some weeks ago, pretty fucking nice, and I didn't know about the other games being bad, so I will probably stay there and get all the other endings and extras.

Book of Shadows has some redeeming factors but is overall just kinda not good. If you want more, maybe check it out.

Do NOT play Blood Drive, I don't remember a game I was more actively pissed at in a while. The Danganronpa and Zero Escape fans are bitching and moaning about a lackluster third installment but they don't know shit.

It's kinda silly how it end up like classic horror movies, you get a decent first installment and then they give you Jason X.

I usually HATE "interactive storytelling" in video games, but this is an example of it done right.

It's not a "visual novel" though, it's more like some of the detective/mystery games that were on the DS.

REALLY well done game. Highly recommended even if you're not usually into that style of gameplay. One of the absolute high points of its genre.
