What did you guys think of the Warcraft movie?

What did you guys think of the Warcraft movie?

I watched a pirate copy and I thought the Orc chick actor was Rihanna the whole time

Is this a porno?

Garona a cute

>tfw you will never feel an orc-girls tusks gently scraping along the bottom of your dick.

>has one of the best CGI cutscenes in gaming and in general
>Doesn't make a fully CGI movie

Decent high fantasy flick.

I'd be interested in seeing a sequel, and think it would probably be better because they wouldn't need to set up so much stuff.

It was shit, maybe if I played WoW and understood the lore and knew the characters it would have been better. But I don't and it was shit.

It was much better than I thought it would be. Had no hopes for this movie. Lots of cringe/cheesy moments. Mostly centering around Garona. I hope they make sequels.

The orcs were the best part. On the off-chance there is a sequel, maybe it's better.

Basically this. Hollywood needs to balls up and get back into making serious, full-CGI films. They tried when the technology was still budding and it was too offputting but they could really pull it off now.

The plot has little to do with WoW. It loosely centers around the conflicts/events that take place in the original Warcraft RTS.

I really wish they didn't force the romantic subplot.

that picture looks like 2 cosplayers standing in front of a poster

I quite enjoyed it desu

Painting a nigger in a green was a mistake.

Not Vidya.

advent children complete was better

It has everything to do with WOW. Making orcs didntdonothing cliche.

Mediocre action flick, with some interesting moments and pretty fun action scenes. Too bad everything in between is garbage.

but they did the same thing in Guardians of the Galaxy and GotG was good

Went in prepared to hate it but it was actually quite campy and fun.

Eyes and faces are fucking hard in CGI. That's why so much early CGI stayed away from real humans, it helped the uncanny valley effect. You hire actors mostly because they already have a face and know how to use it, you don't need animators to fix every crease of the old man's brow.

Blizzard works for months on CGI trailers and cutscenes, they don't have the ability or resources to scale from 3-4 minutes to 2 hours.

duncan gave his dad cancer because of it

Went in with zero expectations and no knowledge of warcraft beyond WC2, and find it an enjoyable movie.

The actor playing not-Aragorn or whoever that guy's name was was fucking terrible though, but laughing at his attempts at drama in the war room scene was entertaining at least.

What did they mean by this?

Dogshit

better than I expected, but not good, just OK

hate that they retconned the medivh/khadgar relationship

hate that lothar looks like some aragorn wannabe and not the square-jawed badass he should have been. the dad/son thing was fucking stupid and cliché as fuck.

hate that orcs are so fucking huge, and garona just looks normal. she's half-orc half-draenei and yet much smaller than both races. although I'm not sure if draenor orcs were bigger before they crossed the portal and became green though

and the movie is written, paced and shown in a way that would alienate anybody who hasn't played the video games

why do i see this and automatically think iCarly?

>she's half-orc half-draenei

I believe the director said they were using the pre-retcon origin, so she's still half-human.

Kingsglaive looks damn near photorealistic.

Because they have similar production quality.

>they went back to Garona being half-Human, even though Draenei were in the movie and Humans hadn't even been in contact with Orcs before the movie
>any time Orcs and Humans get in a fight the Humans are comedically outmatched, at one point the Orcs are so ridiculously overqualified for fighting that 2 of them take the time mid-fight to stop and laugh at the fact that one of them threw a horse
>Medivh looks like Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball and Khadgar looks like Nacho Libre
>Llane dies on the front lines, and the only reason Garona stabs him is because HE TOLD HER TO
>Even though this is supposed to be a Horde under the influence of the Legion they keep acting like they're not and respecting muh honor, outright letting their enemies go because they won a duel
>Gul'dan is more ripped than Senator Armstrong
>Thrall

who the fuck was this movie even for, critics sure as fuck didn't like it

He was playing not-Ragnar, and not the dnd one

>billion dollar company
>doesn't have the ability or resources

>who the fuck was this movie even for
It was made so Duncan Jones could do really cool CGI Orcs.
Everytime anyone asked what to do with the plot and the humans, he simply ignored it.

You also forgot:
>Movie does not shock the audience and Stormwind gets sacked. Instead we have a garbage ending with Orc jesus.

>Not-Aragorn
>Not-Ragnar
>implying he wasn't playing Not-Shia LeBouf

You can spent a lot of money hiring new guys and their training so they'd be up the standard for 1 project or you can outsource and spent way less
What do you choose.

You forgot

>Stormwind is not burning
>Gul'dan leading the Horde as if he was warchief
>Lothar has a son
>Dalaran flies

And probably some other shit I forgot too

>and the movie is written, paced and shown in a way that would alienate anybody who hasn't played the video games

I've never touched any Warcraft game and had absolutely no knowledge about the lore except that there's humans and orcs who don't like each other and I found the movie quite amusing. Didn't like the abrupt cliffhanger ending though. Everything felt like the pilot episode of a fun cheesy fantasy TV show.

I thought it was a cgi movie like shrek at first be then I found out it's live action
What the fuck

>That one extra on the right
Every time.

whole movie should have been CG

they didnt even give the "characters" enough characters for them to necessitate being real actors

Can't wait to watch Lothar get cheated and die in the sequel by those fucking honourless Orc dogs.

I've never touched WoW(or moo's) just a little of Warcraft here and there.

and I thought it was pretty stupid, It was about nothing, and nothing happened, some were fighting, the effects were good or garbage, and Ragnar was in the movie for some reason.

I don't think I will remember the movie in a couple of years.

What did you think of the new Warcraft game?

Well it killed david bowie

Why do all googles look the same.

Idk user, I do play WoW and I think the movie made a lot more sense because I had a good grasp of what was going on and why I should care for these people.

Other than that some of the props were god awful and Aduin's acting was shit. But, believe it or not I liked the movie. Also, Durotan's death was kind of under whelming for me.

Had I not been a fan I think I would have said this movie sucked in all honesty.

Lots of the acting and writing was hammy as fuck and i'm not even sure it was intentional.

The dude playing Khadgar was awful and they had so much to work with for Medivh and they fucked it up.

I don't get this webm. He crushes the dudes neck. So what?

>Also, Durotan's death was kind of under whelming for me.

I actually forgot he just dies and nobody makes a big deal out of it.

They don't even address it later, it changes literally nothing because the Orcs don't give a fuck and still follow Gul'dan anyway.

Also every member of the main cast had a random different accent, could they not just have settled on one?

What I remember about it:

DALARAN DIDN'T FLY AT THIS TIME! YOU MORONS WHO DID THIS! READ THE FUCKING STORY BEFORE DOING A FILM!

If anything it means Blizzard fucking sucks if all they know how to do is blow their load for 2 minute anime cutscenes and completely fail when it comes to making realm film.

The Footman in front of him dancing.
The arm running through the wall.

Is that guy spamming A and D in Deus Ex?

Odd pacing, generally not bad
Pays homage to the fans quite well

>The arm running through the wall.
wut?

wouldnt that cost an insane amount of money and youd just pirate it anyways

It felt like there was a lot of movie missing, and the CGI stuff was laughable at times.

>Warcraft: CDi Edition is a thing that exists

I actually really liked it.
It was wasn't the greatest thing I've seen, but it was far better than the other shit in theaters at the time.
I'd rate 6.5/10.

DUDE EASTER EGGS LMAO

No, just no. It shits on fans by applying massive retcons

is this real life on just PS4 Pro

A decent fantasy action flick, and a step in the right direction for video game movies.
The CGI is much better than what i was hoping for, since i'm not a big fan of CGI heavy movies. The magic effects were wonderful and mad you feel the power the caster wield.

But the movie is way too rushed.

It's barely 2 hours, and it was going too fast all the time, trying to cram everything in. And for someone unfamiliar with Warcraft a bunch of things would be lost. Was i not a fan, i would totally be lost in terms of geography. They show a map of Azeroth/Eastern Kingdoms for 2 seconds. Would it have killed them to make it 30-60s scene, while Anduin and Liane discuss why other Kingdoms and Dwarves and Elves aren't concerned (too far north for them to care about a vague threat in the south *points them out on the map*), and maybe given small glowing maps when mages teleport to show where exactly they are going. They give no time for Anduin to grieve over his the death of his son, and gave us no prior reason to care about the boy . Breakneck speed.

I personally like this version of king Liane's death. The canon lore version is cheap mind control. This version makes it a much more complex act, that's bound to cause conflict in the inevitable sequel, and it felt emotional.

I find the multiple versions of Medivh and Garona's relationship to be disturbing in the greater scope (sometime's she's his daughter, other times they're lovers).

Also, did they merge Alodi and Aegwyn?
I think it was a good decision not to tackle the origin of fel magic, and how Medivh was "corrupted" because it would have taken so much more time.

I liked the portrayal of Medivh, as you can clearly see that sometimes Sargeras is in control (if you know who that is, otherwise it still looks suspicious enough for a viewer who doesn't know about it to see that something is amiss).
Durotan, Draka and Guldan were great.

Also, Gromm Hellscream having no lines in the movie is a sin.

You already made this thread on Cred Forums and everybody shit on it, just let thhis shit movie rest.

human parts were meh. orcs parts were cool. Garona was lame

tfw fapped like mad to durotans wife and her pregnant belly

>that one guy making his avatar dance while youre being swarmed
