that's Awakening and Fates.

HP-health. lose it all and your unit dies(permanently)
STR/MAG- how much damage you do with attacks. this is augmented by your enemy's defenses and your own weapon's MT
SKL- your chance to hit with attacks, as well as score crits
SPD- if your SPD is high enough, you'll be able to double-attack enemies, also affects your chance to avoid enemy attacks.
LUK-affects accuracy and avoidability, and reduces enemy crit chance.
DEF-affects defense against physical attacks
RES-affects defense against magical attacks
CON- unit's weight. this affects who they can rescue or be rescued by, and if your CON is too low, you will suffer SPD penalties while using heavier weapons.

Man, the only thing I sort of have a problem with is the deployment limit. If you didn't lose anyone, you'd have 23 units by now. 10 just seems pretty small at this point.
Yeah, that's something I noticed too.
Especially when you get 4 or 5 new units at once and you can't use any of them without booting someone out. One of the few gripes I have with this hack.

Aceline's move speed really worked against her in this game, which is mostly large and has somewhat limited choke points. I'm a huge fan of knights and generals but she ended up being one of my worst regular units.
Aceline is strong! STRONG!
She was pretty great for me honestly; it was nice to have a strong and defensive archer who can also lance.
I think she was my ace unit.

I agree that she played more as a defensive archer, but thats what I hated about her. Generals are for tanking. I should be able to shove her into a group of 5 enemies and she walks away with them all dead (unless they're mages). Thats what makes them so fucking useful in FE.

I'd agree with you if not for the fact that knights can use bows. The shitload of fliers you have to deal with, along with her great defense, means you could just park her somewhere out front as bait with a bow, wait for their weapons to bounce off of you, and then shoot them all out of the sky.

We been playing the same FEs? Their inability to stay at the frontlines is what makes them not useful. Having Bows, however, lets Aceline attack from afar, which I found pretty helpful.

"Afar" is only 1 more square. If a general isnt getting 4-5 hits in per turn, i'm not satisfied with their perseverance. If its a reinforcement map, I generally just let them solo the entire set of reinforcements. If its a map with a chokepoint, I pretty much just let the general setup shop their and wait 10 turns.

I'm really glad 14 improved on how broken 13 was as far as pair ups go.
I think that's a given when talking about FE13.
14 made pair ups just as broken because now you pretty much have to be paired up to not get bombarded by enemies in attack stance and it still turns units into stat sticks for other units.
Conquest was really what 13 should have been. Aside from the story, Conquest improves pretty much everything, so there's more levels of strategy, less mindless overpowered units, and the difficulty doesn't only come from how unfair the game is at times. It really feels like an actual Fire Emblem game with new mechanics.
Now if only they hired good writers

Careful now, it still has some remnants of FE13's bs like pair up, larger focus on supports, stat inflation, random drops, enemy phase focus combat, increased focus on combat over diplomacy/stealth, paralogues accessible at any time, casual mode, and now no durability.

While not as unique as previous FE games, there is a small variety, and while this is a negative to some, the added gimmicks in almost every chapter adds something different to the table. I rather liked it, though one gimmick in particular can go fuck itself.
I don't see how a series making big changes automatically makes it a bad game in everyone's eyes. 13 deserves the hate, but Conquest was a big step in the right direction.

FE5 did that for half its maps. The Manster Escape Chapters, Chapter 13, Chapter 19...
The villain being a one-dimensional blob monster was in the original story, apparently. And given how New FE seems to enjoy using zombies as their go-to for "hastily made-up fight to pad out the game length", it's pretty believable.

If you're referring to the endless staircase chapter, you can just lowman it with Corrin/Flying unit and activate DV's every turn to never see combat.
