ITT: Games with GOD-TIER lore

I'll start

must be the god of boredom kek

My nigga

Why do so many games have good lore but a shitty uninteresting story?

Out of everything I've experienced, Elder Scrolls easily takes the cake.

I'm playing Morrowind for the first time and, because I don't have it in me to grind right now, I've taken to reading the books. I can't think of any other game where you can actually do something like that.

Fight me.

Anyone got good lore games that don't involve boring mages/elves/orcs/etc. I want a non-sterotypical fantasy setting. No skyrim or WOW pls.

Examples of ones I like so far: Dishonored, Bioshock, Transistor, etc.

Lol I'm a huge witcher fag but I still prefer the dishonored lore

runescape up to wgs

The games are literally backed up with 7 books worth of backstory

Super Mario 64

...

I'm a realismfag, so I prefer the Dishonored lore tbqh

Telltale's Batman

Because if there's one thing Mario is well known for, it's the writing and world building.

ITT i would rather read shit on a wiki then play the actual games.

>Dishonored
>ripped off entire lore from the Thief franchise, then fucked it up into a broken parody of itself
>with whales

what even is the witcher lore?

>ywn take callista with you to the lady boyle's party, grab two bottles of tyvian red and take her upstairs to boyle bedroom and fuck till sunrise

>holding the rotating barrel
I shiggy diggy

He's not holding it, he's spinning it manually.

it would be better if they didn't retcon half if it with each game.

I don't think you're suppose to take it seriously

>Thief
>Good lore
DUDE TECHNOLOGY AND NATURE LMAO

Not that Dishonored lore is much better.

Well, he isn't holding that thing properly in the game, either.

Dishonored had good lore and atmospheric background books about the whalers and stuff. I thought they did a good job.
