Blizzard has literally learned nothing from Diablo and Starcraft...

Blizzard has literally learned nothing from Diablo and Starcraft. They lucked into Hearthstone and the only reason that shit are still successful is because all the other card games online are shit.

>Diablo 3 had massive popular launch and is now dead while games like Path of Exile are thriving.
>Starcraft 2 had a massive launch and pretty much started e-sports, but is now dead and completely forgotten.
>Heroes of the Storm was dead on arrival.

Now Overwatch is going the same way. Mark my fucking words, Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year. The Overwatch competitive scene is already pretty much dead and it will only get worse as Blizzard desperately funnels money into the scene to keep it on life-support.

How can a company this incompetent still exist?

Why did Starcraft die?

Why is everyone talking about Overwatch dying? I don't even mean Cred Forums shitposts, I see it on several official Blizzard forums, too.

And yeah, people are getting pretty tired of Hearthstone's shitty RNG.

How can a company this incompetent still exist?

Because me and millions of other like their games

>implying one of the most, if not the most successfull game developer is "imcompetent". According to numbers and revenue they are probably doing everything right to keep going actually

>How can a company this incompetent still exist?
Because they're really good at making games that make insane amounts of money

Blizzard drank the kool-aid and fell for the ESPORTS meme.

They made the game focus on ladder when what made Brood War popular was the custom maps and casual player base, who normally transition to watching e-sports.

You don't try to force ESPORTS because then you lose all the casuals and only keep the autistic fanboys.

its the new le epic meme

>hots doa
>3rd most popular Moba
uhh..

See no reason for Overwatch to die so early.
btw Paladins is crap, no?

>3rd in a three way race

Congratulations

thats true.
Thing is though sc2 was probably 10 times more successful for blizzard than sc:bw ever was.

Reminder that literally no one in any asian country paid for the game or even used the blizz client play the game (looking at you icc)

don´t forget that they also constantly lose more and more long times fans by constantly pandering to sjws and calling their true fans sexist and racist .

that is the reason why I never tried Overwatch and am now having a blast with Paladins instead

its fun and free you fucking overshill i bet you care about graphics too and not about gameplay fucking killl yourself

but why is that bad when the player base is big enough to support game and cashflow?

>Paladins is crap, no?
If they can step up support and server stability than it will be a perfectly serviceable free alternative to Overwatch.

>playing an actual worse 1:1 copy
no

>all the other card games online are shit.

Not enough people outside of have tried or even heard of Shadowverse, shame really.

>You don't try to force ESPORTS because then you lose all the casuals and only keep the autistic fanboys.

I love that all MOBAs were essentially born from a custom map that caught fire because no one was interested in War III ladder.

>Overwatch is gonna fail because I said it is
>But man Paladin™ is gonna be the bees knees gang!

There's also Duelyst, which is kinda shit but still runs laps around HS, and Faeria which speens to be pretty good

>official Blizzard forums
blizzard's forum is the Cred Forums for normies.
Just yesterday there was an outrage about some wow employee making a joke about nerfing warlocks

Do people actually believe Hi-Rez will give this game the support it needs to flourish?

Why do games go to shit the second foreigners are allowed to play on US servers?

So when are Hi-Rez going to pay some big name streamers to get the word out about this game? Right now it looks like the vast majority of the streaming population is Russians.

Don't believe the shills. Hi-Rez will fuck up sooner or later. They always do.

I dunno user, I generally hear good things about their games although I've never played one.

They bribed a bunch o LoL streamers to advertise Smite and that game is doing pretty well right now.

>hearthstone ever good
>magic, yu-gi, duelyst, edler scroll legends shit

Is this what 12 year Blizzard fanboys such as yourself really believe?

343i fell for this meme with Halo 5. They catered to e-sports, and forgot about the casual player

With the new Forge though it seems that they may be learning and it will change for 6.

Where the fuck did I imply that Hearthstone is good?

Good and successful are not the same thing, faggot.

fine post up until
>Paladin

Why are you shitting on OW while promoting a game that is a carbon copy of OW? Are they not both terrible?

I'm really surprised people trust Hi Rez after what they did to Tribes.

>Why are you shitting on OW while promoting a game that is a carbon copy of OW? Are they not both terrible?
Because it worked so well Battleborn...

Paladrones literally cannot keep Overwatch out of their mouths

I never said they're not both terrible.

Actually, blizzard copied Paladins which was inspired by one of Hi rez's previous games Global Agenda... so beat it shill.

Battleborn is a completely different game, their marketing was just a critical failure because it didn't differentiate itself enough.

>he doesn't know hi rez changed the game to be more like OW when ow became succesful.
Kill yourself hi rez shill

speaking of path of exile, last time i played it it was a soulless boring fucking dull as hell game

did they fix that? or are people playing it just as an "anti-diablo" game?

because quite honestly i think it was as bad if not worse than diablo 3

battleborn could be a succesful game if they hadn't gone FULL FUCKING RETARD and release a game at the same time as blizzard.... and if the starting price was lower.

Starcraft II was one of my most anticipated games, if not the most anticipated. I loved Starcraft and Brood Wars campaigns, the look and feel of the universe, everything.

Starcraft II was released, and it was mediocre, and a part of me died inside because of that. Many of my favorite videogame characters were turned into cartoonish parodies of their former selves, and it was sad.

What's bad about starcraft 2?

I can understand hating the more cartoonish route it took but the gameplay is fun and in my opinion even better than SC:BW.

path of exile hasn't been good since like the closed-beta everyone who cares about arpgs is playing grim dawn right now

and I'm playing some russian rework of d1 it's pretty dope

There isnt one exact reason but splitting the game into 3 parts, purposely gutting bw scene so theyd come to sc2, blizzard balance, 'ladder anxiety', and probably the biggest factor is lack of personalities to root for. Like koreans are just way better at the game than everyone else. But theyre korean, not american or britbong or what other nationality you want that speaks english and theyre fucking boring because of it. Thats why dota and league are better, a bunch of people speak english who play it, theres a ton of people to watch/root for, then you got teams so you follow them.

Shit needs to be on pc to be taken seriously. And no im not going to bluestacks that shit. Need a proper pc port.

They can't defend the game on its own merits, so they set up the conversation as Paladins vs. Overwatch.

That way, when people start calling the game trash, they can just deflect and call people Blizzdrones.

The gameplay is solid enough, but not really an improvement on Brood War, and everything surrounding that gameplay is worse : story, art design, voice acting, cinematics.

I know the standard response of 'story doesn't matter', and generally I agree, but the change in tone in Starcraft II's story and art design is so jarring that it hurts the game. Also, characters having bizarre changes in motivation between the original game and Starcraft II sucks.

Battlenet for Starcraft II was bad, requiring forced internet connection was also bad. I've occasionally wanted to revisit Starcraft II, but I am discouraged by the fact that I'd have to wait hours for it to update. So, I play Brood War instead, which takes less than a minute to start, and requires no updates to play a custom offline match.

It being split into three full priced games was really the kicker, though.

Hearthstone probably made enough profit compared to how much effort they put into it

Blizzard will never make another serious game with grim graphics like D1 and D2 again because WoW and normalfaggotry ruined blizzard forever.

>asking for 60 dollars
>suck at marketing
>get bullied by blizz when it comes to your launch

Sucks too because the game is really fucking good. But whoever wanted a 60 dollar pricetag should be shot. Game needed to be 20 to try and fuck over Overwatch.

I bought overwatch and I still prefer Paladins.

> sperging this hard

that's the thing, they could never fuck over overwatch.

but if they did release it a few months before or a few months later they could probably get and keep a solid amount of players

It's not even in the same ballpark as LoL and Dota 2.

It and Smite and whatever other shitty mobas are out there are in their own little league sniffing glue together.

Oh the anti blizz/overwatch goons are back, remember when overwatch was going to be awful and wasn't? Still laughing at idiots like you, not going to defend blizzards bad decisions they make at times but they aren't as bad as you make out...

>You don't try to force ESPORTS because then you lose all the casuals and only keep the autistic fanboys.
As a mega casual that only completed the campaigns once and then left, I confirm this.

The problem is that Blizzard got my money and doesn't care. You can't earn money from a RTS without making new content, it's not like hat simulators where freelancers do all the hard work.

>tfw actually liked Starcraft 2 singleplayer

The missions are fun and diverse, but the writing behind it is just retarded in the context of a Brood War sequel.

I don't know, I could see them going for something a bit more realistic if they would make a diablo 4 after all the asspain

Because it is pretty much true? Games like this need a living "professional eSports scene" to keep them competing with the big guys.

The scene for this game is already half-dead, because the skill cap is too low.

>missions are fun and diverse
>every mission is "defend this, escort that" with a time limit on every mission

Not what I play Starcraft for. I want to mine minerals, build bases, form armies, and fight the enemy.

> Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year
> by the end of the year

pretty sure it is already more popular than overcuck. and it's only gonna get worse when the next patch hits

Agreed. Really not a fan of the story, but it's tolerable if you treat it as its own thing and ignore how much it shits on the characters of the original.

Honestly, I thought the campaign was impressive for an RTS with the ability to choose what missions you do next, go on side missions, and have progressive upgrades that significantly change the gameplay. Lots of mission variety too.

I still reminiscence about various custom RPGs for star craft one that I never was able to beat because 56k modems would disconnect and the RPG required multiple players.

Name one good M:tG video game that isn't Shandalar.

How does it shit on the characters of the original?

I'm not memeing, I just haven't played SC and Brood War in forever and barely remember them

Overwatch took a pretty big blow in terms of viewers

What happend?

What does "dead" even mean for the game though? Its still gonna get support from Blizz, its still gonna be fine to find a game to play and so on.

Shit Heroes of the storm is doing fine and thats easily their worst game.

>Posts numbers for a game that just went into open beta on steam

So? If this was remotely true then Battleborn would be an actual contender for Overwatch but its not. Paladin is the new meme of the month because its something that just came out in open beta and of course people are gonna try it out because its free in that sense.

By the end of the year it will be lucky to have a fourth of overwatches player base... Hi rez does not have the money to reach the massive market Blizzard can. Casuals dont give a shit about company's like them. Let alone not being able to set its self apart from being "That overwatch clone" even more so than Battleborn.

...

It's a fun game that most people have liked, but it's too simplistic. Because of that it's hemorrhaging players.

It's not so much that the game sucks or whatever as it just doesn't have staying power. That's not a problem with single player games designed to be played for a handful of hours and then left, but Overwatch is multiplayer only and needs to hold onto its players in order to be relevant.

are you just a pathological liar OP? literally nothing you said is true.

>Mark my fucking words, Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year.
LOL

>using Twitch as an argument

Fucking christ Cred Forums.

I'm a professional steam analyst. You can easily predict how a F2P will do from the first few weeks. If it peaks on the first weekend it's dead on arrival. If it actually grows it'll be a success. Paladins had 1) growth on each day from monday to friday. 2) substantial growth from weekend 1 to weekend 2. If it continues to grow on weekend 3 I can guarantee it'll 100% kill overwatch.

I'm enjoying the Nova Covert Ops, but there is no reason to release the episodes this far apart

I like the Coop missions, even though they are just basically campaign missions. Fun playing as a commander with upgrades and everything.

>custom scene is so shit that blizzard has to be the one making the custom games

Lol sure

Name one meme of the month game which had ~40k concurrent players for a few days.

>all other card games are shit

I think out of all I've played the Pokemon online TGC is the best, client and rules wise.

It's just Hearthstone is incredibly popular due to the Warcraft characters and ease of access at an extremely low level of skill as decks have an insane deviance when it comes to the metagame.

The problem with Hearthstone is streamers. Since they play the game all the time they push a meta based on longer games, "control" archetypes. This leads to people who don't have every card available who are more casual to want this meta too, and it ends up costing to get the cards for it.

But all the people playing would be better off running "aggro" decks to burn through games and increase their card pool. The problem with aggressive matchups is they're usually decided by your Mulligan and first 3 draws or you lose from lack of momentum, and I think the majority of the HS player base is too stupid to Mulligan for a good curve which literally wins the game.

Tbqh I feel like something broke inside Blizzard when they realized their Dota fiasco.

Evolve. It reached 50k in a week then died off

What the actual fuck? And here I thought ow had bullshit hitboxes.

evolve peaked on day 1. paladins is growing since day 1. huge difference

Looks like they stole Overwatch's hitboxes too.

Some day you will be old enough to post here and learn what advertising is.

Just found that out
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenyatta_Mondatta

Blizz has good taste.

>actually having worse hitboxes than Overshit

PoE is a great game but I don't think it had any part in killing D3. D3 was just a flawed game from day 1. No amount of patches and expansions could ever fix this mess. Itemization was terrible, difficulty was non existant, hardcore mode was dead because of the 10 second logout (each disconnect / crash was a guaranteed RIP). The game had no soul and no amount of blizzard magic could save it.

Well, I liked the Zeratul mini-campaign if nothing else.

It almost makes me wish for Warcraft 4, as horrible as it would be.

youtube.com/watch?v=1QKPAV6tib0
You can kill people behind wall with hitscan. The shills will try their best to ignore this though

>Starcraft 2 had a massive launch and pretty much started e-sports

lol no, ASSFAGGOTS kicked this shit to life

>jackass has no idea what actually happened
The issue is they called out OW, which caused Blizzard to release the beta around the launch of BB and that fucked them over. Gearbox made the mistake of taking on a giant. Also, the game is just shit.

>I thought the campaign was impressive for an RTS with the ability to choose what missions you do next, go on side missions,
That's been in RTS games for years.

It is not fun to watch/every high competitive team runs nearly identical team comps in tournaments.

Because they got extremely greedy. At first they promised that buying single sc2 will allow for multiplayer play with all the new units on new expands, then that dissapeared, then supposidly they didnt have tech to allow cross server play, even though you could do that from bw days..then the retarded unit balancing, tier 1 being best unit in the game (the marine) and having the whole faction suffer from it (everything nerfed) making it basically boring micro fest every game with single build, since everything else suxs compared to that one mix-maxed build with 5000marines.

>15 years
>still no OWar-like campaign

well, diablo 3 did improve quite a lot after that jay wilson faglord left the game.

the new act was quite darker and more serious than the previous bullcrap

That's not true. No game needs those fucks. Are you retarded?

>watching other people videogames

Why is Youtube OK but Twitch is not OK according to Cred Forums?

...

>it's a "people who dislike Overwatch claim the game is dying again" thread

Remember people claimed it'd be DOA or die a week after launch and said the latter every week?

Diablo 3 was a huge disappointment
Starcraft 2 was a huge disappointment
Heroes of the Storm was literally who

Overwatch is pretty well received and is actually fun. It even has its own fandom. It's fine.

Is Overwatch the type of game that absolutely needs a ton of players buying shit? I mean they sold like what, 10 million copies? Then had like 250 million in in-game transactions during the first month. Isn't it already a success?

The dead date has been moved to the end of the year, get with the time grandpa.

I thought it was end of the decade?

The development of the game was too focused on 1v1 and e-sports. When the arcade, modding, team games, and co-op games should of seen more support to maintain a casual user base.

>Mark my fucking words, Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year.

StarCraft 2 ain't dead. It's smaller than it used to be but it still has an active scene and playerbase.

>Diablo 3 had massive popular launch and is now dead while games like Path of Exile are thriving.
PoE isn't thriving. People come back to D3 every new season and leave and Blizzard has said they are fine with that.
>Starcraft 2 had a massive launch and pretty much started e-sports, but is now dead and completely forgotten.
RTS in general isn't popular anymore. I agree that the focus on competitive play ruined it for a lot of the casual players but it's still the only modern RTS worth playing.
>Heroes of the Storm was dead on arrival.
HotS had an atrocious first impression and that drove a lot of people away. It's gotten a little better with every update but nobody is willing to touch it after such a blunder of a release. Still, it manages to do okay despite it's fierce competition.
>Mark my fucking words, Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year.
People are already starting to catch on to the bullshit in Paladins like the garbage hitboxes. Unless Hi-Rez does something to improve the game Paladins may become another Niche like SMITE.

I play it daily. During the daytime EST, it averages 6,000 people playing. During nighttime EST, it averages 20,000 people playing. TOTAL.

America servers are dead.

idk 20000 players doesn't sounds too dead to me.

>people make webms about the shitty hitboxes and complain in the forums
>blizzard responds with "its actually intended to be that way, its really bad otherwise, since you do not make videogames you do not actually know what you fucks are talking about"
>people call them out, call them incompetent, make hilarious meme "JUST" images
>blizzard patches in accurate hitboxes as a response
>everyone's favorite character now sucks complete dick, the forums fucking explode in impotent rage, unable to blame anyone they just cry and whine about literally nothing
>they reverse the changes as "buffs" to the characters
>no more complaints at all for the rest of the year
>literally no work was done throughout three patches and everyone thinks theres been progression and balancing

blizzard is a fucking master at this, they're currently doing it with WoW balancing as we speak

>half the channels are russians

Really makes you think...

Well if we can assume the 10,422 games being played involve two people that means 20,844 people are currently playing and 13,845 people are in the chat. Add those numbers and we get 34,689 people currently in SC2 at this time.

Was he right?

>bullied by blizz

Blunderborne took the first shots at OW.

Wow, what a smashing success, considering this is the biggest RTS of all time made by the same company that has Warcraft and Overwatch.

I think people realize how reliant Hanzo was on those shitty hitboxes and while accurate hitboxes sounded good in theory it made the character a non-pick since nobody was accurate enough to play him properly.
It wasn't so much a bait and switch as it was putting to the test how the big hitboxes were necessary for this kind of game.

It all kind of comes down to how Hi-Rez handles the situation, or if they even will need to at all now that Blizzard already tested their game with smaller more accurate hitboxes.

Considering RTS is a dead genre and MOBAs are all people play these days it is fairly successful in regards of being a modern day RTS. LotV managed to sell 3.3 million copies in the first 24 hours in competition with Fallout 4's release.

>fighting back makes you a bully
Where have you been? It's been like this for years.

He's as right as the other melodramatic fanboys who talk doom about their favorite company, like Nintendo who has been doomed for years now.

>name one good MTG game except the good one

>Nintendo isn't doomed
>literally going mobile as we speak and whose new console is basically a mobile joke

They're focusing on the wrong things, which is making good games.

>RTS is a dead genre

>35k players atm is somehow dead
Alright then

Dumb faggot

>take swings at someone better than you
>get beat as a result
>cry like a baby and call the winner a bully

Battleborncucks in a nutshell.

Yes, that is indeed how things are. Did you ignore my post?

People have been saying Nintendo needs to go third party or mobile for awhile now. They were already stubborn when it came to online play components in their games, if they went mobile earlier they wouldn't be in the trouble they are already in.

Nintendo hasn't been focusing on the right things since the Gamecube, and I think the change in management is what will help save Nintendo.

RTS is dead as hell

>They're focusing on the wrong things, which is making good games.

So they're finally following the sony example?

Name a good RTS to be released in the past six years.

Prove it then.
Depends, does it count if DLC is still being made for it? Also, most 4X games now have RTS combat and fuckers eat it up. That proves that it's still popular gameplay.

I'm the only person I know who enjoyed Grey Goo, but I'm still going to suggest it.

>You don't try to force ESPORTS because then you lose all the casuals and only keep the autistic fanboys.

still crying

It's a shame faeria isn't more populair, it's really good and i'd say the droprates are generous enought to be doable as a F2P (i play F2P myself).

>buy legion after falling for the hype from shills like asmonkike and bellularfaggot
>get to level 101
>log out of the game and uninstall

It's not even fun, just the same old fucking garbage we've been fed for years, only this time no content.

Nova Covert ops is a bit decent.

I think the art design is ok, but yeah, lore was ruined pretty much.

Isn't there also a full collection purchase for 50 bucks or so

Faeria seemed pretty good but more boring than duelyst when I tried it out desu

might just have been the AI but still

>Starcraft 2 had a massive launch and pretty much started e-sports
>pretty much started e-sports

It started the new wave of twitch cancer esports.

>tfw also fell for the legion meme
>bought 3month sub
>leveled one WW monk to 110 and did some world quests & dungeons
>it's even worse shit now that they have gimped the skills
>just stay at bnet launcher and look my 3month sub time
>uninstall

That was literally the last blizzard game I will try to play. They have literally raped all of their successful franchises.

Hell, Blizzard even fucked Diablo and Starcraft over on the story element. Diablo 3 was just disappointing and the StarCraft 2 trilogy (a retarded idea by the way) was terrible too

Blizzard always does that thing where they have an overarching enemy that is behind everything and is more powerful than everyone in existence and the characters beat it with no one mentioning how everyone was powerless to stop it 5 months ago
cough diablo and amon and probably the old gods if WoW continues cough

And Kerrigan and Jim falling back into love and disappearing into space was fucking stupid, what a trainwreck.

>literally more than a million people playing WoW at the same time

Blizzard is definitely dying, r-right guys?

yes the people are just playing too much battleborn to be bothered with watching streams :^)

I play Starcraft 2 almost every day.

It's a good game

Diablo 3 i agree

HotS is strange that is dwindling since it's """"""OK"""""""""""

Who else is shorting the hell out of the stock, ATVI?

custom games and chatrooms were broken for the majority of the game's life
Literally the only you could do in multiplayer was grind ranked
Also terrible balance which made even grinding ranked not fun

>Paladin is going to going to have more players than Overwatch by the end of the year.
Overwatch only won with it's wide assortment of waifus. What waifus does paladins have?

Its literally unwatchable

Some games aren't fun to watch.

>League of Legends will never die
;_;

No games last forever.

Except EVE Online, I expect it to still be running in some way when the net goes dark.
