You're banished to a desert island and can bring one game with you. What is it?

You will have electricity, but no internet.

Probably something like one of the XCOM games, something long, difficult, strategic.

Replayability is the only consideration.

>dwarf fortress
>dungeon crawl
>minecraft
>any 4X/grand strat title you enjoy
>any business sim you enjoy
>any city builder you enjoy

I'd probably pick DF, since the sheer depth of content outshines everything else combined.

Either Terraria or Dorf Fort if I get computer that can handle this.

Symphony of the Night, probably.

Artificial Academy 2

Dwarf Fortress. If I'm going to have one source of entertainment for the rest of my life I'm not going to go full retard and pick some 3-hour high school simulator like a fucking child.

This.

Dirt rally if I can take a wheel and seat setup

Dwarf Fort. The time it takes me to figure out what the fuck I'm supposed to do alone will probably take up a fair bit of by stay. If I ever get too frustrated then at least I somewhat understand Adventure Mode and can play that

RE4

Why do people always bring up Dwarf Fortress here? Every time I've ever looked at something about the game it looks like a clusterfuck.

Dorf Fort is great. Loads of content, depth, replayability, creativity.

Play it, then you will understand

Maplestory

Russian roulette. I hope it clicks with me.

Is it hard to get into? The only strategy games I've ever played are the xcom and Civ series

Nethack

It takes a while to learn everything, but it's easy to learn from a tutorial right on the wiki.

Plus there's an adventure mode that's more like a standard RPG and takes less time to learn.

My fully modded Oblivion. It'll keep me occupied for my entire life.

Also how long am I banished to the island for? Lifetime? If so, I'm set as long as there's food and water.

Monster Hunter probably. Maybe Maplestory if I could play it offline

Animal Crossing

KSP, even though it's shit, it's hard enough to keep me interested for a long time

It's not that hard to get into, and there are a ton of beginner's guides out there. It's nothing like XCOM or Civ though, more like a complicated city builder. Once you get a few basics down (learning the interface mainly, and managing food and booze so your dorfs don't all die) you can basically do whatever you want, experimenting and learning as you go.

CM3D2
So I get both some grindy as hell game with enough customization, and something I can fap to.

>You will have electricity

That makes absolutely no sense though.

Warcraft 3 with World Editor

Guitar Hero 2

Maybe island had self sustained research facilities there during 60's

And how are you supposed to play the game? You didn't mention anything about a console or PC.

What if the island is not so desert?

>Whats a solar panel.

Then you don't understand the point of the post and are retarded.

Since op didn't specify and you're all autistic about details, I'm taking charge and saying there's a dharma initiative style hatch filled with food, water, a TV, gym, and console/PC of your choice. Now pick your one game. I'm gonna have to say age of empires 2 or San Andreas.

Same dwarf all the way. Can fuck around forever in that game.

Titan quest

>Travel to abandoned island
>Bring your gaming equipment
>Satellite internet
>Solar panels for power
>Basic hunting equipment, knives and fishing rods
>Vegetable seeds for growing vegetables
>Make a comfy wooden/clay house shack
>Spend day hunting for food and fruits
>Spend night shitposting on Cred Forums and playing vidya

Would you do the same?

But who was internet bill payer?

I dunno. You just hog it.

Kek if this is possible then sounds like a fun life as long as you have some survival sense

You will have electricity.

You never mention if i have a computer.

Also you can never get off the island and you can't bring anyone else with you. You will die on that island alone.

Would you do it?

Melee

>6 months later a bunch of mudslimes run ashore
>they want to live with you
>they won't contribute
>they just rob, assualt and rape you

The hard part is figuring out interface, then it gets piss easy.

Like others said, Dorf Fort, but I would have to bring a full guide too

Sounds like heaven

It's a hypothetical scenario, it doesn't have to make sense

>get AK-47 with repaird tools and buckets of magazines and ammo
Just one more thing on check list.

Whats with dwarftards in this thread? How on earth is it good choice to be replayed forever. Despite its glorious autistic attention to detail, it is quite basic, inconvenient and broken game where you essentially do same stuff every game.

Challenge in game is figuring out its satanic user interface and the way its designed. After that you can do several optimization runs, some autismo projects, but you will soon find out what you do same shit over and over again until it gets so slow that you can't play it anymore. If autism projects is your thing you might as well pick Minecraft, at least you will get some visual feedback.

Reading combat logs where beast X severs Y by using W can only go so far.

If somehow I could get updates to the game then I would choose dwarf too. It would be a life of waiting for updates and hopefully not dying before completion

>take a break from vidya to watch the sunset
>feel the sun calling to you asking you to join the void
>swim out to answer the call
>slowly drift under the waves
>your eyes close and darkness begins to envelope you
>at that moment you come to understand the nature of the world
>you resurface, as if exited the womb once more
>spend the rest of your days enlightened

So i can dream..

But you will lose humanity and become a extremely socially awkward, like a beast. You won't even be able to speak your language after not talking for 10-20 years.

Civ 5 most likely
play through with each leader on huge maps would eat a lot of time
maybe minecraft

I'm debating between Aurora 4x, dorf fort or honey select

Honey select because having the time to make my perfect waifu is pretty nice

Like any modern western society today.

>maybe minecraft
When you're literally stranded on an island and have to craft and cook things to survive and fight off unknown adversaries? Dont you think youd get enough of that from living on the island?

Who cares if you're socially awkward when there's no society around you?

The game is as hard as you want it to be once you understand it. Plus I like reading and the game has been changing for so many years it's like a whole new game right now compared to 5 years ago.

youtu.be/P73REgj-3UE

Check his channel out for all your crafting needs

I'd go with Dungeon Crawl or ToME

Dwarf Fortress isn't as replayable as people make it out to be. Maybe the final version, but not in it's current state.

Kerbal Space Program

Osu on the PC with a tablet, primarily for the digital drawing capabilities. If this is not allowed give me a Wii U for the digital drawing capabilities + some long video game like Xenoblade.

If it's not allowed to use the console for its software tools I take a 3DS with art academy.

Dwarf Fortress if I could manage the initial difficulty curve, or Elona+ if I can't.

>deserted island
>electricity

You just made yourself looking like a complete dumbfuck for not reading the thread or using common knowledge.

ANIME FAG BTFO

no multiplayer? fuck that

stupid sakuraposter

RPG Maker

either dwarf fortress or minecraft with every mod I can download before going to the island.

Any monster hunter

>worried about the plausibility of electricity on an island
>not questioning the fact that you've been arbitrarily banished and can bring one game

>minecraft

>"Ahh I finally gathered all the wood and food, made my shelter and explored the island. Can't wait to play video games!"
>Launch Minecraft and do exactly the same

Quake or UT with every custom map ever made.

This game has to have. Lot of replay value... Hmm...

I'm thinking the Mega Man X collection on PS2. Even after completing a basic run you can always try to 100% the games and then after that, try to speed run and beat your PBs.

>not one mention of a Sims game with all expansions
>not making up and playing out stories for the rest of your life
>not gitting gud at architecture and interior design
>not creating your home town and all the people you used to know to hold some connection to your previous life

I even like 4x games more than The Sims but I'm not sure they'd be good for as long.

You can do all that in dorf fort.

That sounds fucking depressing, nigga.

Nigga I gotta be comfy. I need at least a one bedroom house with ac and comfy furniture too.

>All these morons who are going to run out of game

I don't buy for a second that
Would, after seven years, /even if/ you had updates to the game, want to keep playing dwarf fortress.

The thousand hour threshold isn't attainable in most multiplayer games before you get bored, why the fuck would you think you'd be able to get more out of a single player game?

Optimal strategy is or Game Maker, which technically is in the games section on steam. You have enough time that you can build all the other shit in the thread, plus you can learn art and writing.

At any rate, picking Game Maker changes you from being "Stranded desert hobo" to "Reclusive artist". You're not going to impress any other castaways or the people that find your body with the first, user!

>banished
>demands a comfortable room

you should be happy you get electricity and a video game

>giant insects start nesting in your pc tower

No thanks

>house

You're on a desert island, mate. You're going to be sleeping on the beach with the sand fleas while exposed to the elements.

Then how do I keep my gaming setup safe? The first night it storms i'm fucked. Now the whole question feels pointless if I don't have a little comfy ac hut with big comfy bed and shit.

Let's just go with assumption.

Stranded Deep

I'm surprised that no sony ponies said bloodborne.

Considering it's the only game they have

They're already stuck at home with it. Don't make it any worse by making them bring it to the island.

Either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Knights of Honor.

For that matter you could say Unity or Unreal SDK.

Do game makers really count as games, though?

Destiny, so I can focus on surviving instead of playing games.

>you will lose humanity and become a extremely socially awkward, like a beast
>Also you can never get off the island

I'd probably choose space engineers so I can let my autism flow and explore forever.

Or medieval engineers and try to replicate the game on the island.

You can mod dwarf fortress so its pretty endless if you know what you are doing

Id pick modded minecraft though since automation with ae2 is my porn

When you think about it, you would get bored of any game. Best strategy is some fap material. Most of the time you'll have something else to do, but every once in a while you're gonna wanna fap.

The problem with dwarf fortress is that visually it's pure shit. If you're okay with sitting there & compensating with your imagination while random events happen, then cool. But I've played too many 3d games to ever go back to using my childhood imagination as required by DF.

GTA V is obviously a good choice

>drive around
>shoot stuff
>do crimes
>make up racing time trials
>role play as a civilian if you get bored
>do tricks and shit
>explore underwater
>fly planes

Lots to do

Tokyo Jungle. Gotta max all those stats and generations.

...

Animal Crossing
