Yes, directly into the trash can.

Anyone know where I can pre order one

VR is all about getting people to see it for themselves. Samsung VR is probably the worst thing to happen to the industry, since they're promoting it like full fat VR and it's a shit experience in comparison. Sony is going to need to get butts in stores at VR displays to get this going.

PSVR is just as low rez as the Samsung though. Driveclub VR is a "end of PS2's life Game" instead of the PS3 graphics they promised and the rest are Mini-Game collections or Indie shovelware.

No software, no sale. It's Dead on arrival like the Move, The Wonderbook, The Eye Toy 2 etc, etc

I would still consider PSVR a more complete experience than your smartphone in front of two lenses. It's not exactly a Vive but it's a hell of a lot closer.

No. Consolites aren't exactly well known for being big spenders when it comes to hardware.

It's "complete" alright

Completely without games!

>PSVR is just as low rez
headset is actually better than vive/rift in most ways

They need GAEMS. RIgs seems eh, Battlezone is neat but its timed exclusive. That London heist thing "could" be a neat onrails game just because its going to be more well made than the Vive alternatives

You're a complete retard.

PSVR has no games!!!!1

>PSVR: 960x1080 with games dropping as low as two 720P buffers (Like Surgeon Simulator) to display using upscaling or checkerboard rendering and temporal anti-aliasing
>Rift/Vive: Two 1200x1080 native screens with screen buffers recommended to be set slightly higher using DSR to provide a sharper image and prevent pixel crawl aong with MSAA

Nope

>Reading PSVR's spec sheet really doesn't do it justice. Its head-mounted display (HMD) has a single horizontal screen at 1080p, whereas the Rift and Vive both have two vertical screens at 1200p. You might think, "Clearly PSVR is inferior." Not exactly. While the resolution is definitely lower, PSVR has almost no screen-door effect.

>It wasn't just my eyes, either. Most people who are lucky enough to have tried PSVR agree: you have to actively try to see the screen-door effect, rather than actively try not to see it. That's a huge deal when it comes to VR immersion, and could end up becoming PSVR's main selling point.

>So how does a lower resolution screen have less screen-door effect? Each pixel in PSVR's display actually has three subpixels, one for red, one for green, and one for blue. If we do some math, it becomes apparent that the PSVR actually has a higher subpixel resolution than Rift and Vive, resulting in less screen door effect.

>Rift and Vive: 2 displays x 2 subpixels x 1080 x 1200 = 5,184,000 subpixels
PSVR: 1 display x 3 subpixels x 1920 x 1080 = 6,220,800 subpixels
>As you can see, PSVR has quite a few more subpixels than Rift and Vive. While this definitely isn't a crowning achievement, removal of the screen-door effect is definitely appreciated by everyone who has experienced it in VR.

>Beyond cost, the level of comfort and ease of fit are highly important when it comes to head mounted displays. The majority, but not all of, the initial VR experiences of gen one may be short, however, we’ll see games and movies release that will keep your helmet on for many hours at a time.

>So thinking about the stock experience, without modifications to the headsets, I found that the Vive is the least comfortable to wear. The Rift just barely beats out the Vive due to its lighter weight and built in headphones. Not having to fiddle with fitting another component after the headset is on is really nice.

>By no means do I think the Rift and Vive are uncomfortable, they’re just not as comfortable as the PSVR. The process of only having to press 2 buttons to fit the PSVR can’t be matched by the others. Once it’s on, you don’t have any pressure on your face as the visor design sits on your forehead and hugs the back of your head, while the screen hovers in front of your eyes. The PSVR is the easiest to fit and the most comfortable to wear, which means a better experience for longer VR sessions and a far easier time in sharing the headset with others.

They will try.
They will push it right up until the first game for it comes out and then immediately stop talking about it anywhere and everywhere, because it's trash. Just like every other VR headset, but even more so because it's tied to extremely sub-optimal hardware.

I see the Sony marketers have arrived

Looking forward to seeing you damage control 720P VR games in three weeks time, Pajeet

>ignore actual evidence
whoa so this is power of pc

IMO (as in like read: MY OPINION) it'll be a flop at least on paper, perhaps like the PS Move, I don't see any of the current 1st gen VR products as an iPhone for example, we are yet to see a revolutionary product.

>Paid PR pieces on VR Websites are evidence

Woah, so this is the power of Indian call centers

I'd buy it for Batman and FFXV VR

How do they keep it sanitary? Will I get some teenager's forehead grease on my face if I use a store demo?

VR is a gimmick and is DoA

Theoretically, it should be less of an issue with the PSVR. It's not like the Rift or Vive where it's getting pulled against your face. It has the ring that sits on your head and sort of suspends the screen over your eyes, like those Sony 3D TV headsets.

nipland uses disposable facemasks

In the first years of cinema, people went to see trains arriving at stations and workers leaving factories. The idea of moving pictures was so amazing the content itself didn't matter. But eventually movies had to move on to actual stories, or else they wouldn't last.

Right now, with these shallow minigames, we're like people in 1890 watching trains. When will the real games arrive?

>When will the real games arrive?

I dunno, we have been waiting since the PS4 came out.

>take off meme thread
>VR thread trying to convey to sony
Already in OP?

hahaha butthurt sonygger. your mom is done buying you gimmicky hardware

think this is actually the most interesting thing
youtube.com/watch?v=3BLQhx4fiwA

I've played some Onward and I'm convinced it's basically the future of this. It's a pretty fantastic game and an interesting use of the current Vive platform.

PC shitposts ignoring everything thats been mentioned

>cs mod
this looks aweful

Video games are just a passing fad anyway.
Go to church.

I can't tell if this is a shitpost or an ESL attempting to convey something.

Kek

Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life

the power of GTX(tm) 1080, Vive and $2000 dollars, so this is Early Access

That's not how le pun spic meme works.

You understand that VR games are about performance and interactivity rather than pretty screenshots, right?
It also runs pretty well on a 970.

I have zero desire to be "inside" a game so I really don't get the VR appeal.

I think it will be stuck with its tiny audience on PC playing tech demos and porn for the foreseeable future.

Can PSVR hook up to PC?

It's gonna fail because it needs a sizable market for devs to start making actual games for it. And it's a gimmick that costs more than the console itself, which average consumers aren't going to splurge on. That's why PC VR is full of nothing but indie tech demos and porn games.

>porn
yea only made by nips until someone hacks in vr support into sourcefilmmaker

>Cant decide between buying a cheap fat ps4 then saving up for when psvr comes out and getting it
>Waiting until ps4 pro, buying it and psvr
>Or just saving up for a computer and vive
I want ps4+psvr because cheap and exclusives.
I want ps4 and vr because performance, but my wallet would hate me.
I want a computer and vive because real vr controllers and I would be able to play fucktons of good pc games for free because muh torrents
This is a tough choice. Right now I have a galaxy s6 and gear vr, and its mediocre. Theres nearly no good software for it, let alone games.
VR was a fucking mistake.

Its a screen, at some point it should be, but maybe you will also need to ad a 3rd party tracking system.
A few leds and a webcam can do it with freetrack.
So yea, the thing is the connector wich is a propieraty one, needs an adapter.

cinemablend.com/games/Witcher-3-Wouldn-t-Exist-Consoles-72064.html

like any emerging market it's a vicious catch22 no installbase -> nogames -> no installbase

basically is why you get near full priced demos on pcvr right now

It will happen much much faster than you think. Almost like how overwatch porn was in abundance before the game came out

Aside from 1st person shooters or something with a cockpit, what else would improve with a HMD?

Playing anything else is off. Like gears of war like it is, but with VR...
