Unreal Tournament and I haven't routinely played a game online since.

Bomberman.

Resident evil outbreak

I love Jenny!

I don't really know my first one. But first 'ones' were: CS 1.6, WC3 and Guild Wars

I guess pokemon diamond would count as the first game played that had online multiplayer

Exact same here.

Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal

cod 4

Ok I'm ready!

World of Tanks, honestly.
I never moved to Gen 7 consoles and finished my PS2 backlog last year,

Half-life. Then Day of Defeat. Never got into CS too much.

I think it was age of empires rise of rome.

Yigioh world championship 2008 for the DS, I was using a zombie deck, shit was good.

Those were some days, goddamn.

Mario kart DS

Unbeatable

xj9.swf

...Probably something on PS3. Demon's Souls, I guess?

Similar case to I played lots of local multiplayer and LAN, but never got into Diablo or WC3 like my friends did. I did try everything out, but that doesn't really feel like proper answer.

CS1.6, but at a friend's house.

As for my OWN game? Metroid Prime: Hunters

Starcraft

I guess Diablo 2..? but I was never That into D2, WC3 is a better answer

PC: Diablo 2
Console: Tony Hawk's Underground 2

it's too bad DBZ Budokai 1/2/3 didn't have Online, 1 definitely would've been my first online console game in a heartbeat.

I remember getting my ass kicked by some niggers and still having fun

Team Fortress 2

I grew up without high speed internet, but my aunt 30 minutes away had it.

My mom was insane, but I went to a charter school where I did 95% of my work at home. So my aunt was very sympathetic to me spending a day away from the house.
So I would take my terrible computer rig 30 minutes away and plug it into a 4:3 monitor and play TF2 on low for 6-8 hours. I did that maybe 3 times. It was the best time of my life.

This was in 2008. I didn't play another online game until I moved away in 2012.

And then my fiancee and I met and became friends in TF2.

Where my runescape niggas at?

Was there ever a My Life as a Teenage Robot game?

Gunbound in the early 2000s

Runescape also I want to FUCK that robot

Runescape, and I wouldn't change that for anything

This. My household didn't have internet until 2005~ and it all started with seeing my friend playing Runescape at school. I asked him so many dumb questions about whose team he was on, which characters were real people, what they were doing in that cave, if they were friendly, etc

It blew my mind and continued to blow it for years. Then I spent a few more years trying any free Korean shit I could find; the only ones that stuck were Maplestory and FlyFF

My nigga

Sylux mains unite

>And then my fiancee and I met and became friends in TF2.

If you didn't get the something special for someone special then you're a cuck and she's actually fucking someone else right now

Ragnarok Online

>Wasting real cash on in game items that aren't even wearable
Why?

You could buy 100 tacos at Taco Bell for that money.

>First online multiplayer I dumped massive time into
PSO

>First online multiplayer game period

Ages of Empires

Im 22 and the same for me. First console I played was my brothers SNES when I was about 3-4 years old.

star wars battlefront 1

CoD

Classic Runescape, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 is what really got me into online gaming.

technichally, Jedi Knight's multiplayer

the family's pc could run it at about 4 fps.

Nobody cares.

Quake 3 Arena

Quake 2 my dad was mega into the competitive scene for that and he got me my own pc to play wit hhim

Guild Wars Prophecies.

Halo 2

>Ctrl+f
>GraalOnline

Disgusting

bf 1942

i love you so much

Last Chaos

Same, a lot of good childhood memories.

I still poke my head in to see what has changed every now and then.

Infantry, RTCW, Diaspora, Graal

Does Neopets count? Because if so - that.

Otherwise, I think it was Gunbound: Thor's Hammer for me.

C.S. 1.6 ->Lineage 2 -> Guild Wars

Some shitty MMO I don't even remember the name of, pretty generic stuff.
I've never beein into multiplayer games that much.

Neopets -> runescape classic -> gaiaonline -> runescape 2 -> wc3 -> dota -> WoW -> med school

i played a bit of maplestory before nexon fucked it all up but I dont really wanna remember how maplestory turned me into some anime freak for a while.

I think being a loner in the 2000's was one of the best times to be one.

Burnout 3, that first experience plugging that ethernet cable into your PS2 cant be forgotten.
Until the peeps still running on dial up are going faster than you while facing backwards in a Dominator Super.

metin2

it was awesome back then. most of my real life friends played aswell

>tfw having the same kind of nostalgia that wow/runescape players are having but nobody to share it with

Dark Forces 2

FFXI

Same, only I didn't get xbox live for xbox and I got my 360 when Halo 3 came out.

>Game over man

SOCOM or Battlefront. Not sure which.

Jenny a slut

Jump Ultimate Stars

Mario Kart Wii
I got so good at it in middle school that I would jerk off and play with the Wii wheel and still regularly get first online. There's nothing quite like the feeling of cumming just as you cross the finish line and make all the jap children weep.

Modern Warfare 2
I'm 24 but up until that point I had only played offline games. Never had Xbox Gold or an ethernet cord. When I got my PS3 I finally started playing online. I regret it.

>tfw you blow the leg off a Predator with your shotgun.

HEY GUYS, WANNA GO ON GAIA ONLINE AND GO FISHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

Gears of War.
I lived in the country, in canada, and my folks didn't think internet was worth the cost up until like 2007. even then, my room was far away from the router.
fuck, we got like 3mbps back then. now it's a whopping 7.

Guild Wars: Prophecies

I miss the feeling. It still hurts... after all this years...

World of Warcraft back when vanilla was a thing.
I miss the old honor system.

Post moar

Probably some shitty flash game other than that I think it was Battlefront.

animal crossing city folk, if that counts

starcraft

the custom games were so fucking fun. poker/tar pit defense and shit like that

I guess Neopets if you count that. MapleStory otherwise.

Black Hawk Down Delta Force

That's a good story, user. Sorry about your mom.

Me too.

Battlefront would have been my first non-MMO

Yeah, same here on that game.

Tribes.

Line of sight Vietnam.

Same.

Although I played a few matches of UT99 a few years prior I don't really count that.

Halo 3 was the first online game I spent a significant amount of time in.

Counterstike back when i had to install it on a cd

World at War

Define "online."

Do you count early, early modem use (ie where computers would literally "call" the other one over the phone line)?

Warcraft 1

otherwise Starcraft.

Forza mortorsport 4 was my first experience. Car soccer and virus mode was my favourite

moto gp on original xbox. then runescape.

Modern warfare 2 Search and destroy with my uncle. He introduced me to the ps3 after I've been on wii for i forgot how long.

Gran turismo 3 on xlink kai lol

Sven Co-Op. Lied about my age and joined a clan. Best online years of my life
I still talk/play with my friends I made then. Still jump on Sven from time to time.

This

Halo C.E/Halo 2

probably runescape or graal

Tribes 2

porn incoming?

AoE2, first PC game I owned, on top of spending countless hours playing it I also spend many hours reading the manual, had some really interesting historical anecdotes for every unit in the game, I don't think they make those anymore.

don't worry
>robot waifus are an inevitability

same here, except AoE1

Joint Ops: Typhoon Rising

Was the only game my parent's computer could run decently.
Most fun I ever had, and I definitely miss it sometimes.
Tried filling in the void left by the game with M.A.G and Planetside 2, but it's just not the same.
I want another game with 150 player count.

Diablo 1 on PC, Unreal Tournament on console (Dreamcast).

I did not have a dream where I went down a dark tunnell really fast.

C&C Renegade

got i duckign hate nigersr hte fuckign board is full uf these niggers chilodren i hate children fucki f and dyie children i will kill u rhcildks agod damn fucking kids rogt oin hell you ingger kidss all ik9ids are niggers all niggers are kds k=and they all need to die dog dam fucking v fucking fuckign fucking v ggod gam fucking v fucking fucking fucking v fuck oyu fuck he fuck hr gufc kall of you kgdo dam aba fi nmetoi n

Combat Arms, then Dungeon Fighter, then RO:2.

>missing the joke

runescape

Total annihikation on mplayer via a 32k modem. Good days will come again

quake 2

WHO /toontown/ HERE?
Was the first online game I played after my first games introduced to me in my childhood were Alpha Centauri and Total Annihilation.
I didn't have good internet until like '03 or '04.

maplestory when I was 8

I wish I could go back and live it all again

Sonic robot blast 2

Super SF 2 on the SNES XBAND

What's with Jenny Poster all of a sudden? I thought i was the only one shitposting her,

Anyway my first was Jedi Knight DF2, but it wasn't until i got into runescape did i actually play online with other people. But i didn't play it for long because my internet was shit and slowed my browser to a crawl.

warcraft 2

youtube.com/watch?v=iqIVxEpQEms

Black Ops.

This.
>played it since it came out
>20 now, still remind my brother he's a huge cunt for ruining one of my very delicately designed forge maps

Serious Sam: TFE

This.
I miss having giant death matches of 50 vs 50 players. It was hell, but a fun kind of hell.

>Where my runescape niggas at?
right here
I thought you were joking at first but this is real.

I'm not even joking, I'm old enough for it to be my first online experience. It was really cool at the time. You would call the xband service and queue up. When it found someone for you it would hang up and then your xband would call them or theirs would call you for a direct connection.

Cybertown and a multiplayer version of Doom called FRED.

Guild wars factions i think i was like 8-10 and i still have the games and box it came in

Runescape, back when it looked like this.

Runescape, I always wanted to try Maplestory but my toaster wasn't toasty enough.

How did it deal with latency/connection hiccups?

My nigga. Paintball and dodge the rapist too

Quake or Age of Empires maybe.... good question

Tetris DS

It actually wasn't that bad because you had a literal direct connection to your opponent over the phone line, unlike anything on the internet.

I doubt any of you have heard of it.

Activision had some good PC games in the 90's

Halo 2

I WAS the squeaker on the microphone.

luckily my voice got deep enough and i grew out of being a retarded kid by the time the 360 released. i had a friend though that was stuck being a midget with a baby voice until senior year of highschool. now that had to have been awkward.

watching pro players battle each other on youtube is pretty sick

this
spent way too much fucking time playing BMO

was fucking ages before I did any online gaming because I had dialup until late 2007

getting my shit kicked in by chinks in SC: Brood War

Halo 3, back when the custom game community was in its golden age. I didnt get any online capabilities until much later in my life when I got a part time job. Its on Halo 3 I met my best friends that live in the same state.

We're practically brothers because we talk and play vidya together every day. We also sometimes go on state wide trips for the fuck of it.

I fucked one of my bros sisters
He has the same first name as me

Toontown desu

I was 14 when Halo 2 came out. I had a 20" CRT tv in my bedroom and would play after school. Good times

I'm amazed you've even heard of it, I bought it retail in the 90's and still have the box and manual. It was a great game but the company that made it went bankrupt because of piracy

This too, I remember playing brood war as early as 1999

Chromehounds for the 360. I would roll in with 8 rocket launchers on my mech while everyone else had 2 machine guns at most and destroy everything in sight. All thanks to me being so autistic that I got S rank, and the equipment that came with it, on every single mission.

Same.
Then went out and bought the MW2 Xbox few years later

Red Alert 2
It was mostly just fucking around in custom/modded maps that people made but it was fun

Continuum

>spider class ship master race reporting in

halo 2

just post more jenny like you have been the past few days

You're literally me except switch Halo 3 with COD 4 and Bad Company

Club penguin? Or wow

I tried to play Quake 3 Arena on dial-up on our family's new computer back around Christmas of 2000.

It was unplayable on dial-up. I remember a dude being off in the distance and then he teleported into my face because of the lag and then I died and said "NOPE" to that shit and went back to playing against bots offline.

I don't play games online. Single player of local multiplayer only.

>Have a folder full of MLaaTR
>Not going to post it

youtube.com/watch?v=NjUgpnohPzU

This is 90's as fuck and I love it

Jesus dude, I'm only 18 but even then I played Halo 2 with my older brothers.

I was a 1.6 babby as well.
Got shit on everytime I hit my mic button because I was literally 12-ish. Play jump and surf maps all day long. Then the WC3 and zombie servers came along.

There were hidden codes for the menus. I remember one code turned all of the yellow icons to be a animated rainbow of colors.

There was also a news service. Before / after the game, you could start a chat with your opponent.. It was text, but you could see them typing in real time, and they you

check out this one too youtube.com/watch?v=QZ87mYwjop4

>Halo 2
>I WAS the squeaker on the microphone.

My brother. I remember I actually used to openly use the mic even though I was only like fucking 7 or 8 and not even care but then some dude heard me one time and made fun of me and I haven't really liked talking in online games ever since. Fucking traumatic experiences during childhood, so annoying.

Call of duty world at war

Literally this guy, but with Team Fortress 2 on the PC.

Neverwinter Nights, the AOL one.

>all those messages

Reminds me of looking through archives/e-mail messages between NPCs in games like Fallout or System Shock for some reason, but it's weird because it was actual people doing it this time.

It feels like it's been so long since people made as much use of their given space as they could to instantly send a message to someone miles away instead of just popping onto Facebook and sending someone a "hey" and waiting for a response. xband shut down almost 20 years ago.

nostalgiaing hard :(

Uhh... Call of Duty. If you tell anyone this I'll fuck you up.

>Came out in 2003.
>My dad finally got a computer and had the internet hooked up and brought us into the new millennium.
>Saw a WW2 game that he thought looked cool.
>We set it up and played a few rounds together sitting next to each other getting the hang of keyboard and mouse.

That game was a fun WW2 shooter about getting to Berlin, Not killstreaks and quick-scoping.

And the funny thing about Battlefield vs CoD is a week later my dad bought Battlefield 1942 and that's the first multiplayer game I was addicted too. If I wasn't at school I was playing BF1942 or the mods for it like Forgotten Hope or Galactic Conquest.

Dark Age of Camelot

the allegiance beta

UT2003, Lineage II, D2, WoW.. in order but I still play D2 some ladders.
