I have multiple computers and they all run Linux. Really all I ever play is Melee. I'd definitely play more PC games if more of them were DRM free and available on Linux.

Gog is legitimately a shitty place to buy games. They don't even have a patch system in place. You have to redownload the entire game every time there's a small update. This is below 1990s level of technology. I would rather buy games from EA in the late 90s when I had to hunt for patches on obscure webpages and install them one by one in a specific order after downloading on a 56K modem. Gog is a cancer that takes gaming back 20 years.

So why are you using anything but Steam then? Using Steam sales and sites like G2A/kinguin for buying Steam keys is literally THE cheapest way to buy your vidya legitimately. Nothing else comes even close.

I'd consider using GOG more if they kept doing that steam connect thing, and I could get even a small chunk of my massive library DRM free.
But they dropped connect after the first round of games, and my steam library is too big to drop.

There is no reason to prefer consoles. That's just a fact. They're more expensive per game, they have worse controls, worse internet, paid online, higher priced DLC, worse online communities, fewer features, lower graphics. There is not a single thing consoles do better. To prefer a console doesn't even make sense.

That being said, irl I know a guy who likes generic store brand mac and cheese. Not even Kraft, not even Velveeta, not even homemade mac and cheese. He likes the lowest possible tier of mac and cheese for no reason. It tastes the worst. Even in a blind taste test he thought it was the worst. He still prefers it. Some people make no sense.

I think a lot of people are just used to consoles. They are easier to use as well. I've asked 3 people why they prefer console. One said they prefer jRPGs, two said that its what they grew up with. Using a PC is easy for us, but difficult and a hassle to use for the average person.

I'd use GOG more if Galaxy was worth using. I was hoping it'd be just an extended downloader that allowed you access to instant messaging with GOG friends, downloading straight from your library, buying off the store, and having a download scheduler. Instead it's this bloated memory hog that's barely worth anything more than the old GOG Downloader with all positives drowned out by the negatives.

gog's whole thing is being optional. they dont really add anything to galaxy because it would be viewed as 'trying to force it.' the only feature they put into it was easy downloading and patching. the gog forums had to literally beg cdpr to add play time tracking and achievements.

Gog used to be a niche store for old games. They packaged free abandonware games with free DOSbox software for a small fee. Then they got greedy. CDPR/Gog turned into ultimate Jews because they're literally the only company in Poland that makes any money and the entire Polish economy depends on them. The Polish president even forced a copy of Witcher 2 on President Obama when he visited. Obama threw it in the trash. Now Gog is trying to compete with Steam but offers none of the convenience, service, features or polish (ironically).

It really depends on the nature of the crack but simply put when someone commits copyright infringement the offending work is not just given to the original copyright holder. Ironically, a publisher using a crack without the pirate's permission may in fact be committing copyright infringement themselves.

The real issue is not copyright infringement, since it's arguable that pirates have any rights in the first place, it's the fact that the publisher uses potentially malicious, third party software in its product without disclosing said information. If you want to use pirate cracks in your products - fine, do it, but inform the user of this decision.
