If this is not the path you follow you have absolute shit taste in everything.

N64 > PS1
Quality > Quantity

>N64
>quality

>PS1
>quality
Even the hardware was prone to breaking.

>he didn't game on PC since the mid-to-late 90s

...

>Playstation over N64

Not even a nintendo guy, and I see that as a terrible childhood.

PS had fuck-all for kids, it had Spyro, Crash, and a few educational games here and there, Most of its library was towards teens, and it's Praised gems, were all M-rated, So anyone who says "I played Resident evil as a kid" is clearly lying, or had parents that didn't give a shit about their well being.

>not snes

>being poor

PC>PC>PC>PC>PS3 and PC>PC

what if i had all of them?

...

This.

>PC gaming in the 80s
It was a joke compared to consoles.

The JRPG fan had a SNES aswell though

>n64
>patrician
>not sega saturn

But I did.
>dad trying to feed me some Marioshit console so he could play Wasteland on his expensive PC himself

>PS had fuck-all for kids, it had Spyro, Crash, and a few educational games here and there
This is false. Also, the N64 only has about 10 games period, so they have nearly equal amounts of kid aimed games

>Most of its library was towards teens, and it's Praised gems, were all M-rated
Sotn and FF7 are M rated? It has the most of it's library aimed towards teens as a natural fallout of having almost 100% of non-first party support in that generation and T being the biggest demographic that plays games

No.

The "JRPG fan" is satirical. It indicates people who /call/ themselves JRPG fans but have never experienced the classics.

Yknow, the ones who praise FFVII as the messiah of gaming and such.

Ahh yes the system of inferior ports and a small handful of Sega titles worth playing that was discontinued early and never stood a chance in the west. Its basically a non portable Vita or the other way around since it came out first.

The only snes JRPGS that are better than FF7 are chrono trigger and live a live

RIDE ABOUD NOW IDS TTYME TAH RAKK WIT DA BIGGITY BUCK BUMBLE

>Also, the N64 only has about 10 games period, so they have nearly equal amounts of kid aimed games

And yet ten good games is better then 600 sub par ones.

genesis
saturn
dreamcast
360
havent bought any console in 8th gen but i do own a 3ds xl

these were the consoles that i started with but it wasnt until 6th gen where i eventually bought all the other consoles

Every jrpg is better than ff7 so you are correct

600 is the number of times you play mario 64 and pilotwings 64 because nothing else worth a damn was released for two years

>the resident evil 2 n64 port
>that fucking audio

The loading screens were fast as fuck, but everything else sucks in comparison to the PS1 or any other port.

>Illusion of Gaia
>Sword of mana
>Tales of Phantasia
>Marvelous Land
>Sword of Vermillion
>Secret of the stars
>Act Raiser

Expand your taste in JRPGs. you clearly don't know shit if you're going with the Defacto SNES answers. Surprised you didn't say Earthbound.

Why would a dudebro bother with a Dreamcast?

>You can only ever have one console at a time

You act like choosing 64 means you're stuck with it and only it. Its irrefutable that it had the better titles as an overall library. I Never said PS1 had a terrible unplayable library.

Wave Race 64
Turok
Star Fox 64
Blast Corps
Mario Kart 64
Goldeneye 007
Diddy Kong Racing

And more came out within two years of its launch. I don't get this meme.

>quality >quantity

The PSX had both.

You clearly weren't around for the time of the Sega superiority complex.

No, it has the same number of quality titles as the N64 + loads of shovelware.

Too bad N64 had neither.

Nothing has changed since the 80s then.

N64 had
>1 good jrpg
>1 sidescroller

the rest were collectathons and adventure games. Not saying the N64 is bad for a side console but the ps1 just had WAY more variety.

It didn't have Silent Hill so it loses.

Then please explain in your own words why Ocarina of time, Pokemon Stadium and Mario 64 are hailed as gems, where as spyro and crash are "oh yeah. that existed."

Give up? Because they were popular and beloved. Crash and spyro never had the appeal of nintendo ips, and while good, never amounted to anything the way FFVII did. FFVII is the prime reason PS1 even did remotely well.

And even to this day, PS2's Ips are far more beloved then PS1. Its a forgotten relic.

I can name 100 PS1 games which are at least worth playing.

I can't name 10 good N64 games.

>I can name 100 PS1 games which are at least worth playing.

do it.

It had two of the best/most important games of its era.

The N64 actually had a lot of really innovative games that nobody knows about because each game cost so much nobody was going to take a risk and buy something so strange.

>I can't name 10 good N64 games.
That's because you grew up with a Playstation like every other poorfag.

While I agree with you. N64 clearly had the better exclusives. Most of the things PS is known for are multiplats that came from PC like Rayman, Resident Evil and Tomb raider.

All it had was MGS and FFVII. And neither were worth the price of the console.

How about you name 10 good N64 games ? It's only fair.

I played on my friend's SNES. I had an Amiga. Other than that, sounds about right.

Why would you prefer a small quantity of good games while you can have a large quantity of good games instead?

To understand how much N64 has failed, you only need to look at JRPGs. SNES has fucking tons of them. N64 only a few, most of them shit. Only Paper Mario is great. Also, two Zeldas and Wonder Project if you insist to call them JRPGs.

Most of devs ran to PSX, which had way more great games. I have nothing against Nintendo, especially pre-Wii Nintendo, but N64 was bad aside from a few games.

PSX had more quality games in a year than N64 in a lifetime.

Not saying the N64 was bad, it was a very nice secondary console.

who /saturn/ here?

>tfw probably one of the few people who got to play bomberman online

ok you first :^)

If you follow this path I will automatically assume you are a weeb.

Goldeneye 007
Mischief Makers
Rocket on wheels
Glover
Goemon's Great Adventure
Perfect Dark
Ogre Battle 64
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie
Tetrisphere

Oh and what do you know, I didn't even list a single Nintendo IP yet.

>glover
>not hybrid heaven

baka

The point is not to say that first party Sony ips were better than Nintendo's. I don't think many people will tell you that either. But it had more games, with more variation, and a subjectively better selection.

>The N64 failed because it didnt have JRPGs

How fucking weeb can you get. Not everyone is a JRPG fan, The N64 was perfect for people who liked collecathons and platformers, something PS1 SEVERELY lacked.

Get off your niponese high horse, god damn.

I went with Saturn. But it was a disappointment because I didn't get to play any of the good games it had.
Although I did get to play Resident Evil, so it wasn't all bad.

Its funny because PS1 has almost no value as a console anymore.

All of its games can be played on a PS2, and most have been ported to higher more accesible platforms and collections.

At least N64 retains reason to own carts, owning discs is stupid.

spotted the nintendofag

Glover had a horrible PS1 port, keep in mind.

Spotted the butthurt Sony fanboy.

If you care this much, you're a nerd

...

>implying thats a bad thing.

Nerds and geeks are common place now. Times changed, and the days of jocks caring is long gone. Especially since most jocks are now gamers themselves.

Now its race wars and sexism.

Sega had the best sports games

Shut up nerd

>no Sega
>PS1 anything but complete garbage
Okay, retard.

What if I went for the Gamecube after the PS1?

>psx
>not sensible

Get the fuck out of here you delinquent.

The fact you called it the Psx is exactly why you're not sensible.

I started with N64, got a GC and have been playing PC ever since.

This was my path, except I started with the psx.

...

I don't see the logic here.

That was my path.

>nes over ms
>snes over md
>ps1
casual who only plays slow games detected

All still accounted for except the PS4, which is on its way still.

'Bomberman online' is actually a Dreamcast game. And imo the 2nd best one losing only to Saturn Bomberman.

that's a cool 360 skin

>platformers

wwwwwww PSX has more platformer games than the Shitsey4

i meant playing online on bomberman

Again with the quantity over quality, some things never change.

Replace the PS1 with an N64 and it's perfect

>System of inferior ports
>Saturn

>Klonoa
>Silhouette Mirage
>Skullmonkeys
>Castlevania SOTN and Chronicles
>Megaman series
>Spyro
>Ape Escape
>Crash Bandicoot
>Rayman 1, the good one

Enjoying your Castlevania Shitsey4?

PC Engine
Mega Drive
Saturn
Dreamcast
PC

>posting multiplats

some things never really do change huh

You DO realize only 3 of those are exclusives right? And that the PC and Sega versions are much better right?

Silhouette and Rayman are better on Saturn. Spyro and Crash aren't as good as Mario 64 or Banjo. Castlevania isn't and never will be a platformer and CV64 isn't a bad game.

Man of actual taste here
>NES
>Idort for better arcade style games and better RPGs
>Playstation
>Dreamcast
>PS2
>Gamecube and Xbox at end of gen
>360
>PS3 at end of gen
>PC

What a fucking autist OP is.

...

Pretty much yes... i'll add the sega genesis there though.

PS1 > N64
PS1 had lots of quality games. I am not saying N64 was not good. Just having Ocarina of time and Mario 64 was enough to make it a great console and it had much more than that too... but PS had the best FF, CC, LOD, LoK: soul reaver, RE2, VP, Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, FFT, Galerians, Spyro, Gex, Medievil, Tomb raider, MGS, Crash bandicoot and i could keep going...

Zelda OoT was par with SR and there was never nothing quite like Mario on PS, the best PS could do was Crash which was par with banjoo kazooi.
Not to mention N64 had star fox and Metroid which where great but PS1 was only surpassed by PS2 and that is still up to discussion.

>N64 had star fox and Metroid
>Metroid
