Gameplay was flawless, but story and game progression/delivery was garbage. Then again, I'm not a big Metal Gear guy, having only played two of the games, so take that with a grain of salt.

Awakening's breaks the game, and while fates had some interesting stuff with them, they just need to tone the excessive focus of them. My main problem with ORAS was that it was terribly boring after a while. Between the Dexnav and all the free shit every NPC hands out, not to mention the EXP Share still doling out XP to everyone like in XY, I was steamrolling everything I came across with virtually no effort.

I eventually stopped for a while right before fighting Kyogre, and then when I did get back into it, I beat it, the 8th gym, the Elite 4, and the whole extra storyline in only a few hours without any problem at all.

I really hope that SM has the Challenge mode from 5th gen back in, so long as it's available from the start instead of being unlocked.

Asymmetric multiplayer is something I really don't think has been done well in any major game as of yet, at least as far as I can remember.
