Any game that labels itself as an MMO from this point on is shit.
Hear me out.
>WoW is Shit >GW2 is Shit >ESO is Shit >RuneScape is Shit >Blade & Soul is Shit >BDO is Shit >Elite Dangerous is Shit >Bless will be Shit >Revelations will be Shit
Why? Because they are MMOs.
So, you may ask, what would make a good MMO?
Simple! Don't make it an MMO!
Examples:
>MineCraft >DayZ >GTAOnline
None of these games are considered an MMO, and what do they otherwise have incommon? They're GOOD GAMES!
At least wait a few more hours before reposting, OP.
Jaxon Anderson
Fun for a month or two until pay2win take hold of the game. Won't stop from enjoying while it last.
Jacob Lee
What makes an MMO fun is playing with other people, when you keep people from each other than you remove the main component of MMO
Caleb Russell
not that i disagree with all the current MMOs being garbage but >MineCraft >DayZ >GTAOnline >They're GOOD GAMES! wew lad
Nolan Wright
Subspace Continuum is the tits.
fuck you I win.
Thomas Cruz
>MineCraft >DayZ >GTAOnline >good [citation need]
Camden Price
thats because SWTOR is the only good MMO
Nolan Jackson
What makes an MMO shit is playing with other people >ok guys, you're gonna need an interrupt for this boss. all interrupt when he casts the big aoe >wipe >haha, that's why we have to interrupt. >wipe >guys, you have to interrupt that cast or it's a wipe >wipe >does everyone have an interrupt? >what's an interrupt?
Brayden Mitchell
The concept and execution of MMO's is shit because the playerbase refuses to allow change out of fear. Triad will never get removed or at least improved, quest npcs will never get removed because its their comfort zone, and the shitty gear progression will never get removed. No progress can ever be made because the entrenched playerbase doesn't want it to be made so MMO's will stay stale for 40 year old neckbeards with disability checks to burn.
Adam Gomez
The whole concept of a game with millions of players partaking in fun adventures together was spawned from wishful thinking that didn't accommodate the grinding and content farming that comprises most of these games' content.
Jackson Martin
>Every. Single. MMO. No. Dungeons&Dragons online is genuinely good, because it has genuinely good questing, literally the best in any MMO ever released. The questing and dungeons are so good, you can play DDO by yourself solo without giving a fuck and have shitloads of fun.
Jackson Morgan
>Triad will never get removed or at least improved See GW2, RuneScape, ESO
>quest npcs will never get removed See GW2
>shitty gear progression will never get removed See GW2 and ESO.
Elijah Sanders
>this mmo is good because you can play it solo
Colton Green
>DDO >Best quests
What is RuneScape or Elder Scrolls Online
Jordan Howard
>GW2 We're not going to call them quest npcs but they're totally quest npcs.
Jace Collins
>Walk into area >Do thing >Walk out of area
You never even have to interact with an NPC.
Brayden Moore
>the playerbase refuses to allow change out of fear
are you retarded? GW2 used exactly that as its main selling point. >no more grind for gear! >no more tank/heal/dps roles! >no more boring quests! >no more tedious timesinks!
and people gobbled it up by the millions. only after it had released, people realized that GW2 was a steaming pile of crap. instead of the old tank/heal/dps roles, now there were no roles at all. and it turns out that everybody doing the same things at the same time makes for a really shitty experience.
instead of old quests, now there were 'dynamic events' - which turned out to be just a very dumbed down and streamlined version of old quests. instead of an NPC telling you to kill 10 rats because they hurt his dog, now you just stand in a glowing area on the map and get a 'progress meter' that fills up as people in the area kill the constantly respawning mobs. once it's full, you get totally-not-quest-rewards. gee, how innovative and fun!
instead of grinding endgame content for gear to increase your characters power, now you do... nothing, and your character's power stays capped. not exactly a new idea either, they already did that in GW1 (where it worked and fit the game much better)
turns out that the people who whine about "omg dumb gamers stop being afraid of change!" simply can't deal with the fact that the current state of the art is just better than whatever dysfunctional garbage idea they came up with.
Liam Bailey
WoW killed MMOs
It really took you this long to realize it?
Parker Bell
SWG, Planetside 1, ChromeHounds
WoW basically killed MMOS for everyone.
Wyatt Green
The problem is that people have taken a mmos which are nothing but stripped down rpgs with long term persistence and socialisation. With reward systems built off of social experiences and prestige. Then they took out the systems in the game that made people socialise and make friends.
Mmos are the "fun with friends" genre.
Matthew Lee
MMOs are the communism of video games. Everybody thinks it can work and they can all be friends in their game but it always fails because people are shit and they think other people are bigger shits.
Angel Evans
Eve isn't a game, it's a life commitment or a second job.
Logan Flores
Gw2 was and is a success though. They're just spending their marketing budget on esports nobody cares about.
Jose Barnes
TESO is good because they could make an offline version and it would still be 100% playable.
It's like if Amalur and Skyrim had a baby, and that baby had a trust fund and hired Dumbledore to read it bed time stories.
Evan Brown
>Gw2 was and is a success though I regret buying the game.
Andrew Stewart
People have this strange attitude towards mmo games where they think that the game is shit if they don't play it for the rest of their life.
Kevin Watson
>try a new mmo >enjoy it >it's already dying
Camden Jenkins
>success WoW and LoL are successful, too. doesn't change the fact that they're garbage games.
Chase Perry
exactly
I enjoyed archeage and it was a good game for exactly two months, then it was ruined
but two months is longer than I normally play games anyway, so whatever
also >minecraft/dayz/gtao good games lmao etc
Grayson Martinez
>partaking in fun adventures together This is a problem of video game RPGs in general, not just MMORPGs. Tabletop is an improv collaborative fiction environment. No one has been able to reproduce that experience, because it can't be scripted. The game designers took what could be translated digitally, the dice rolling and the combat mechanics, and shoehorned them into nice looking set pieces and called it a day. It's been terrible since the 80s.
Jordan Rodriguez
FF14 any good? What about Black Desert?
David Bennett
I've been playing Maplestory on and off, but god damn does it get boring
Austin Cruz
Ultima Online was perfect
William King
>GraalOnline Fuck you to the grounds underage OP
Nolan Torres
>FF14 any good?
Kinda. You'll enjoy it for a month or two.
>What about Black Desert?
Stay. The fuck. Away.
Blake Watson
this tbqh. Maybe it's nostalgia but damn did I enjoy every single second I spent playing it.
Levi Smith
ok welcome to 2010 where this is shocking new information
Christian Green
ESO is actually pretty good. Too bad it gets shit on by lorefags that never played it or people that only played it at launch.
Angel Ortiz
Guild Wars 2 is the same way, It has horrible voice acting, bad characters and the endgame is very casual "do what you want" but the story is pretty good and the lore is really cool. I feel like the game is pretty good in spite of Anet.
Joshua Robinson
Can't understand why people who have never played eve feel the need to assert this meme, my entire alliance is chock full of lazy fucks who can't even be assed to log in for weeks at a time, me included
Ryder Smith
>the story is pretty good and the lore is really cool
didnt they completely butcher the GW1 universe and bring in a bunch of literal tumblr writers, who then proceeded to put tons of horrible fanfiction tier shit into the game?
Lincoln Williams
Yeah, pretty much.
Jordan Gomez
Eve is a pile of shit. They had to do one thing to make it fun, and they couldn't even manage that. They thought the target and cast shit system would be fun in space. Guess what, people want to dogfight and fly their ships like every other spaceship game ever made.
Caleb Wright
Even if they did, caring about the story's kind of dumb as it's formulaic as hell. (Just like GW1's was.)
Logan Jenkins
>people are only now figuring this out Wow. It's almost as if most people don't enjoy doing the same repetitive garbage over and over to level up, finish a "quest" or get a randomized loot drop just so they'll eventually have nothing to do with it all because grinding for pointless shit is the only content an MMO has.
What a fucking revelation.
Gavin Harris
Which game hurt you, user
Gavin Brooks
Sounds like almost every fucking MMO desu
Josiah Parker
this one.
Ian Jones
n-no game hurt me
I was always in control
Jordan Johnson
DUDE what if we, like, took an action combat system and put it in an mmo where all you do is grind braindead mobs all day long?
Luke Rivera
heh
Nolan Johnson
it fucking HURTS
Liam Adams
Now the healing can begin.
Dominic Ross
They put in like one lesbian couple.
Ian Lewis
I was skeptical of the game leading up to the western release and playing the beta confirmed my suspicions. Game could've used tab targeting and it wouldn't have made a difference.
Jack Brooks
>didn't they completely butcher the gw1 universe No. >bring in a bunch of tumblr writers Yea but the writing has improved a lot and we're just left with a ugly nigger norn and some lesbos with tryhard accents. The characters are still pretty weak.
John Stewart
>Guess what, people want to dogfight and fly their ships like every other spaceship game ever made. No, user, those shitty rinky dink arcade dogfighting spess games that have been popping up lately aren't "every other spaceship game". Go play homeworld you nigger
Camden Stewart
voye? What was wrong with the combat? Wouldn't it theoretically make grinding mobs more fun?
Luke Howard
>Guess what, people want to dogfight and fly their ships like every other spaceship game ever made
those people are not the target audience for eve. those people are the target audience for star citizen, elite:dangerous and whatever other stuff there is.
Jordan Barnes
>Wouldn't it theoretically make grinding mobs more fun? Maybe if you don't like being challenged or if you prefer to do the same thing for hours on end. BDO is all about grinding in the most effecient way possible. So you pull a ton of mobs, aoe them down, spam pots, loot (cashshop pets are pretty much essential for this part), and then do it again.
Austin Carter
None. MMO's are just a trash genre designed to suck people in with the promise that it gets better later when it never does.
If anything I'm annoyed by all the cancerous faggots that spread that stupid healslut meme to other genuinely good games and genres.
Owen Miller
Oh, so the combat just ends up making it like a musou.
Carson Cook
>healslut meme Real healer players aren't actually passive aggressive assholes, most are very agreeable and will do anything to help the group. I myself am pretty submissive and do whatever my tank says, for better or worse.
Brody Russell
shh you're among friends
Adam Roberts
WHATS THE BEST MMO FOR SOMEOME THAT CANT SPARE 20HRS PER WEEK TO GRIND?
Joshua Martin
how about you suck this dick fag
Jason Cox
Keep your passive aggressive shit to yourself. MMOs are shit because they're about socializing with people, and people who play those games are usually like you. That's why they suck, because of you and your bullshit.
Landon Thomas
at least in musou games you get captains who can block your attacks. I don't think there's any mob in BDO who can put up a fight. Even much higher lvl mobs can just be kited around until you finally wear them down.
Jaxon Rivera
>Ultima Online was perfect Yes
Daniel Richardson
Wow, OP. This is the saddest way to react to someone making fun of a game you enjoy.
Blake Adams
Are you a tank? I'd have to see how big your health bar is first.
Hunter Perez
10 inches
Camden Garcia
guild wars 1 still good just use heroes
Evan Butler
>Minecraft >DayZ >GTA Online
Literally 100% chance of being underage; reported.
Ryan Clark
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Phantasy Star Online 2 are good
Luke Cruz
Sorry mike but I don't heal ecelebs.
Adam Collins
Sounds like most MMOs really. WoW killed an entire genre
Kayden Russell
Is there more of 3D lewds of her?
can you post
Matthew Baker
none
Ian Lee
I saw this exact thread like three times in the last couple days.
Jason Bell
Cool. Keep your shit in your garbage genre faggot.
People who play healers in something like a shooter or a MOBA or whatever don't want to take a dick up their ass, they want to play a fun role in a video game. Being a fag is reserved for people who think clicking on the same mobs all day is fun.
Joseph Allen
prove it babaloo
Jayden Reed
Real life.
Wyatt Scott
You seem a little up tight, friend. How about you give me some contact info and I'll help you blow off a little steam. I promise you'll enjoy it.
Noah Rodriguez
You should watch Saving Private Ryan. There's several minutes where it's just heasluts going down hard on soldiers. One shot has 3 heasluts all over a single dude. I came buckets.
Bentley Diaz
Yeah. It doesn't help that summon scrolls for boss mobs are easy and predictable as fuck. I dropped the game as soon as they started letting players sell cash shop items in the marketplace. Sure it is capped, but it's still scummy as fuck and I'm sure it can only get worse.
Grinding is objectively antifun and need to be minimized as much as possible, if not removed entirely.
Josiah Nguyen
How about you kill yourself instead. I just want to play Mercy without faggots like you trying to convince me to suck their dicks every other game.
Xavier Long
gave me a giggle there
Carter Taylor
Nah man the problem with all the MMO's now is that they are either badly localized korean grind fests or shiny theme parks
What we need is a good AAA sandbox mmo or for someone to invent true AI then lock it in a server hub so none of the events are scripted and it's just people being sociopaths in an actual fantasy world.
Cooper Lee
>I just want to play Mercy Oh, so you're a fellow healer. That makes things more fun. Talking about what you'd do to a nice throbbing piece of tank meat by yourself is fine but when there's another healer to play with it becomes much more enjoyable.
Cooper Carter
If Gloria Victis were actually going to be finished I think it would offer a great experience for many players.
Christopher Lopez
"F" RIP in piece
Owen Gonzalez
You and people like you honestly make me want to throw up. 100% serious. I'm really hoping you're just memeing right now.
Tyler Green
Is that the Debicki?
Alexander Ross
LoL is a good game tho
Kevin Wright
>make me want to throw up Whoa, okay. I'm gonna have to stop you right there. I like a good face fucking as much as the next healer but puke is a big turnoff for me. You can do whatever turns you on but I won't be able to join you. Sorry.
Lincoln Myers
swtor
Lucas Sullivan
Not him, but kill yourself. I miss the oldschool healer threads, were actually a really cool place to just share enjoyment of a specific role. Now it's just a spot for ERPing homosexual furries. Thanks for ruining another thread.
Camden Jackson
kek Barneyfag pls
Dominic Myers
is there an ETA for Revelation OB?
Ian Wood
MMOs are useful for providing people who are susceptible to gambling addictions with a less costly alternative. You can't keep those kind of people from spending all their time on it but at least with MMOs it's only ~10$/month with the occasional (30$?) expansion pack every few years.
Logan Peterson
WoW Legion is actually really good, and that game is basically buy to play now it has the plex system from eve online, I make enough gold to buy a month of sub with in-game money every couple days just by picking flowers while doing quests
Jordan Carter
Remove yourself from the gene pool.
On second thought, you already did that the moment you decided to be a fucking disgusting homosexual. Your kind will die out soon enough.
Thank you
Nolan Flores
>tfw healer >enjoy the role to a great degree, supporting my team >guilty of some healslut erp from time to time There is such thing as too far, and this shit is definitely it. Avatarfagging with furry pictures and trying to press your kinks onto some innocent person who clearly doesn't want it is just disgusting.
Lincoln Jones
you have to play single player wow for 50 hours before you get to the good part without it being wow clone
Caleb Davis
>homosex is worst than furry You're just as bad for not realizing furries are worse.
Camden Gonzalez
>Play healer >Am a homo but I don't make a big deal about it >Voice is kinda feminine so most people just assume >Really enjoy helping keep people alive >Think ERP is fucking cringy and disgusting
screw this healslut stuff, go away nerds
Liam Campbell
This.
Kevin Jenkins
The formula is pretty simple: If an MMO has leveling and quests, it's shit. No exceptions. It's designed to waste your time and pad out content. Meanwhile, you start valuing the game because you spent so much time on it. MMOs are fucking vile.
Luke Rodriguez
>implying it matters when both of these things do the same job of effectively removing themselves from the population It's nice when things work out.
Levi Foster
>tfw nerds get triggered by your ironic healslutting
Aiden Brooks
this. SWG was essentially the perfect MMO made before its time and rushed by the publisher.
ignoring external factors, if they waited 3 years to make the game and had another year to work on it, it would have been near perfect.
John Long
Well, I had fun with daoc, Warhammer and wow vanilla pvp.

Confirmed for underage. Besides eso is the only good game on that list.

But that never happens.

What I don't understand, is why western MMO's still don't have fucking action combat and still use the same "Stand in the vicinity, press 1, 2, 3, 4" shit.
Tera Onine was released 5 fucking years ago and still has the best combat of a fucking MMO. Why? Tera shows that good MMO combat is easily possible, even on shitty internet connections.
Chase Thompson
You already tried this autismo and I already told you to grow the fuck up
Liam Fisher

Jace Martinez
>snake oil salesman gives one presentation about how in his mmo you're be able to do ANYTHING >retards eat it up and buy the early access minecraft clone
Samuel Cooper
Pretty much all recent mmos use action combat. The only ones that don't are early access indie shit and ones that have been in development since time eternal.
Lincoln Hall
What online MMO games can I play on australian dial up internet?
Wyatt Price
As I said in the other thread, the reason WoW rose so much higher than anything else, was it just had a great story, great world, good writing, great setting and everything. It was a complete package. It got people to give a single fuck about the story, which is why people continue to play WoW, a game that is tediously boring gameplay wise by modern standards, till this very day.
The one major problem most MMO's have. They have fucking shit stories or, they have good stories, but can easily be solo'ed so it defeats the purpose of it being an MMO (Star Trek Online, Old Republic, Secret World etc)
WoW had that balance. It had a great community, you actually had to team up, it had a good, engaging story and lore and worldbuilding and atmosphere and large, interconnected world with very little loading screens.
A part of me thinks that MMO's that have the best chance, are ones that exist in the world of an already existing IP. That way they have lore, that people are actually interested in to begin with, to work with their title.
Cooper Allen
Fucking stop shitposting with picture of my wife.
Anthony Jackson
wow became wow because there was no wow when it released. Now not only is there wow, the market is saturated with a ton of f2p mmos.
Daniel Phillips
>YOU CAN DO ANYTHING No phrase makes me drop interest like a sack of shit faster. It always ends up meaning that there's really not a whole lot to do except wander around.

I wish more people played.
Cameron Campbell
Before release >It's the WoW Killer, it's going after the king of MMO

Allow me
Noah James
Were there really any successful MMOs before WoW, tho? Genuinely asking.
>inb4 korean grindan shit
Mason Barnes
Funny how many people don't realize that LoL completely shit all over the MMO market and destroyed the future of MMOs.
Levi Jackson
Clearly underage for this site.
Nathan Hall
I know you are but what am I?
Jordan Ramirez
>SWG was essentially the perfect MMO made before its time No, user. That was the perfect time for the perfect MMO.
There will never be a time like that ever again, even if you make a perfect MMO now, everything else is shit, so the entire experience will be shit.
SWG didn't have twelve year old retards as the main playerbase, it didn't have mandatory voice communication, it didn't have retarded SJW tranny chat mods, etc. Imagine it with that, and suddenly it's shit regardless of the actual game systems.
Zachary Evans
Except that's what the fans been saying. Learn to pay attention to your shit game's fanbase.
Austin Morales
EQ, UO, FFXI, SWG and more.
Jayden Myers
>Cred Forums causes autism classic example
Jacob Davis
>twelve year old retards as the main playerbase Actually I find the people I play mmos with the most are older people who are married.
Landon Parker
Yeah, the people hyping the game would go on about how it would be just like MUH VANILLA WOW. But the devs themselves never said anything about wow.
Mason Butler
I was expecting a "shit game" reply
It's shit and the fans are shit. Refer to
Gavin Cooper
No, that sounds about right on what happened.
Grayson Morris
Even after playing for 50 hours it's still awful, the new content is just you killing the same single enemy type over and over and over and over. And none of your choices matter.
Thomas Young
GraalOnline was shit though and only has nostalgia value.
Also the people running the servers were shit.
Tyler Hughes
It's okay. I'm used to people dumping on my preferred mmo. I've given up hope on it ever turning a corner now. I'm just enjoying it as much as I can before it gets the axe.
Samuel Williams
Those can fuck right off too.
Robert Kelly
Not everyone can be an eternal 17 year old with no responsibilities.
Brody Bennett
I wish people had cloned GW1. It managed to come out and stay relevant while WoW was huge, and only really went out because the devs moved on without many complaints from the community.
Game is dated as hell and had issues even for its time but I want GW1-2 less and more, I want to see the world where MMOs borrowed more from that formula. It was definitely an MMO, but so many bits and pieces of it were so different from WoW and pre-WoW.
Cameron Lewis
Rereading my post, it looks really assholeish.
Sorry about that, but yeah, I'm kinda mad that a lot of people hyped me up for it and then I didn't really get anything out of it when it released.
Luis Diaz
I want fucking proper nerds, not 17 year olds.
Hunter Young
The biggest problem with the MMORPG market doesn't have anything to do with the MMO's themselves. MMOs were never big niche products anyways and never we're intended to be in the first place. MMORPGs were always niche products you could expect 30K ~300K players to play regularly.
WoW was the only exception to this rule, almost ever in the history of MMOs. WoW is the ONLY MMORPG to ever truely break the model, and it had nothing to do with the fact it was an MMORPG, it had everything to the fact that it was blizzard, it was Warcraft, and it was released at exactly the right time and it hit a popularity stride and it rode that high for as long as It could. WoW wasn't even a good game, shitty balance, shitty PVP, shitty raid involvement. The one thing that WoW had was that it was a big name, big company, big marketing, big ole fucking Blizzard is what it had. If WoW had been made by ANYONE ELSE, it would have never become the monster it was back in Wrath, to Pandaria. But again, WoW only ever peaked max at 12million players. So WoW is the only exception, everything else fits the model, So what is the problem if its not WoW? WoW is responsible for ballooning the market. Creating a market where previously there wasn't really one.
The problem doesn't even lie in the MMO market itself, there's nothing seriously wrong with these games that are being released. They're getting better and better, and if were released 5+ years ago, they'd have no issue what so ever becoming big time money makers.
The problem is Riot games and League of Legends. The largest most actively played game on earth, in history, and its more than 5x larger than WoW EVER was.
Everyone has played LoL or plays LoL. EVERYONE. LoL unlike MMOs was designed to be the largest game on the market. It was designed to operate on the largest scales possible, it was designed to "fix" the problems of DoTA and bring DoTA to the mainstream. "But its a completely different genre user!" Continued-->
Xavier Gonzalez
Yes and no. LoL does something that a ton of MMOs and online games do with RPG elements. RPG mechanics from Levels ups, gear progression, ability progression, and ontop of that PVP. The entire Leveling, Gearing, and ability upgrade process combined into nice neat PVP match that lasts 30~60minutes. And can be repeated thousands and thousands of times, with extensive diversity, to the point of never being repeated. All included is charactes, lore, micro quests, and objectives, and the experience of Alts, and Mains.
This is the entire concept of an MMORPG from start to finish compacted and presented in a nice little 30~60minute match. This is why LoL shits all over the MMO market now, and became so god damned big.
Before LoL the mmo market was booming, games rarely got cancled, even shitty Koreaboo games were doing well for themselves in the west. The here comes LoL absorbing every single MMO player it could, bursting the MMO market, the SC2 Esports scene, and absorbing millions with shitty PCs in a nice little low graphics client and a free platform.
The biggest problem with MMOs isn't MMOs, or the players that still play MMOs. It's Competing with LoL for nearly the same player base that is slowly slipping away, and abandoning the market they grew up in. If LoL wasn't here, the story of MMOs would be a very different one.
Alexander Stewart
>I just want to play Mercy without faggots like you trying to convince me to suck their dicks every other game.
Does this really happen? I play Mercy from time to time and it never happens. People are generally busy with the objective since it's a pretty fast paced game.
Maybe it's an American thing.
Austin Bell
tl;dr the problem is that developers don't just want to make a good game that makes a decent profit, they want to jew everyone with the shittiest most addictive game possible with 5 tiers of p2w bullshit for basically free money.
Caleb Powell
Feel free to prove me wrong. Memes will be diregarded immediately.
Nathan Lewis
Everything about pre release was a perfect storm that ensured the game wasn't going to succeed. Despite it's problems though it still has great combat and group content. It's a testament to the talent of some of the people who worked on it. People that have since been laid off or fired (rip timetravel). I'm sure the last remaining raid designer will be cut loose too once the last piece of the new raid releases. They posted higher earnings in the last report but I'm not holding anymore delusions like I did with f2p. The game will get shut down, I just want to enjoy it while I can because no other mmo right now appeals to me as much.
Julian Rogers
Wow, it only took you 20 years to notice. All MMOs are empty trash with next to none gameplay and no crafted elements. It's shallow all the way to level 60 and then some, if you're playing an MMO, or even worse, paying money for it, you're a suhuman and a waste of oxygen.
Daniel Gutierrez
Every. Single. MMO!
Example! Don't make it an MMO from this point on is shit.
>WoW is Shit >BDO is Shit >Elite Dangerous is Shit >Blade & Soul is Shit >DayZ >GW2 is Shit >ESO is Shit >RuneScape is shit.

MMOs are bad in the same way browsing Cred Forums all day is.
Isaiah Russell
No, it's that they have no ability to compete with LoL anymore.
Omnibits in WildStar, VentureTokens/HM Coins in Blade and Soul, these free cash shop currencies would have NEVER become possible in the old market.
The games now are better than they ever were. Even sub fee situations,
15 bucks a month then was way more than 15 bucks a month now. Any sub game back then barely got content the way they do now.
Game engines are better, optimization is better, developers are more experienced.
The problem is that no matter how good you make an MMO now, there's next to no one to sell it too.
Everyones playing LoL, Dota, CSGO, and WoW. WoW is a old dying game and the only reason its till paid and played is because everyone was invested into it and keeps crawling back because everyone who doesnt play LoL plays WoW still.
LoL stifled the budding action MMO market possibilities, the next step up in MMO design because games keep failing MMO devs cant take risks anymore. Now people are trying to make MOBAs and arena shooters, trying to exploit a niche that LoL and Esports has allowed to exist.
I've played MMOs for 13 years, and we have it so good now compared to 13~7 years years ago. The problem is that the market is like a rug that was pulled out from under the MMO.
Gavin Walker
>No, it's that they have no ability to compete with LoL anymore. But why would they?

There is absolutely no need to compete with it if you don't want an audience of retards, and don't want a LOT more money than you should rightfully get.
Robert Martin
Wakfu is the best MMO
Benjamin Morales
You're literally not paying attention to the post, or not getting it.
MOBAs capitalize on the MMO experience and the RTS expeirence in a nice neat little package.
SC2 has no choice but to compete with LoL and DoTA because of this. Any PVP mmo has no choice but to compete with MOBAs because of this.
Thats the whole problem is that the most avaliable and most played MMORPG experience isn't even in an MMORPG anymore, it's in LoL.
Setup, New character, level, gear gear, get abilities, progress kill other players, kill mobs, kill bosses, destroy towns/ect. Lore, characters, hundred+classes, vanity choices, personal progresson. It's all in a nice neat perfectly delivered nearly infinitely repeatable package in an MOBA.
That's why LoL continues to grow in a market of MMOs thats fading out. People who want that PVP BG experience, PVPVE experience, its all there nice and ready for them in a MOBA.
It's not that MMO devs want to compete with LoL, they would definitely not want to be up against such a titan.
But they have too anyways because that's how the Market landscape developed.
This is the reason I dropped out of persuing a career in MMORPG development. Because there's almost no future for MMOs other than clinging to the dwindling mass of players that wont play LoL and dota, that are fed up with WoW.
Nicholas Roberts
Dude, no one gives a shit about your market gobbledygook, people just want to play a game that has enough people on a server that it feels alive and that you can make friends and enemies and live in an alternate world. Go post your walls of text on neofag.
Dominic Hall
>people just want Its not about what people want...
Blake Wilson
This. It's about what everyone else is playing and what people will play.
Please shove it up your ass user. Just because you're too fucking brain dead to actually pay attention doesn't mean others aren't. Maybe you should stop being a retard for once and look at the big picture and realize why you're the fuckin idiot who keeps playing shit he doesn't like.
Liam Phillips
>Its not about what people want... It's literally only about that and nothing else.
Grayson Gutierrez
>why you're the fuckin idiot who keeps playing shit he doesn't like. Why do you stick horse dildos up your ass?
Austin Gutierrez
are you talking about first "tutorial" dungeon in wildstar?
Brayden Thompson
People will play what their friends are playing.
Justin Walker
How'd you guess?
Jose Wood
You realize that there are literally millions of wow players out there who play wow simply because that's what everyone else is playing? You realize that there's probably more players playing LoL than WoW's entire current player base who play LoL simply because everyone else plays LoL. You realize that the people who play MMORPGs in the west are the minitory now compared to the amount of players who play MOBA games, right?
You are aware that there are a lot of people who play a less than ideal experience simply because millions of others play that experience?
John Hill
So? Retards can play whatever Progress Quest skin they want for their social media.
Are you claiming there's not even 200k people in the entire world, which is 8 billion people, who would play a good MMORPG?
Julian Lee
Sure, I just don't give a shit about retards, why do you?
William Campbell
Because WildStar is the only MMORPG out there that actually requires players to have some sort of skill developed within the first arc of experience of the game.
WildStar has almost no retarded skill level players in it because of this. It weeds out braindead retards really fast.
Christian Anderson
eve online since its skillque is always going and there isnt much you can do to speed it up
Lucas Thomas
>insulting homeworld Scumbag.
Aaron Cox
Spread those 200k over about a dozen mmos and have them always abandoning the old for the new.
Henry Jackson
I don't really understand how you can't fill a niche just because everyone is playing WoW or LoL. The world isn't that small
Adrian Moore
I'm sure a lot of mmo developers thought they'd scoop up whoever wasn't playing mobas or wow. Unfortunately they all thought it at the same time.
Austin Young
>MineCraft >DayZ >GTAOnline >good Wew
Adrian Sanchez
Meanwhile EVE Online alone has that many players, and the world always feels busy, even though they completely ruined the game in the past 5 years or so.
Ryder Morales
i dropped on the last available dungeon from LFG my groups never beat the first boos, there were always some faggot who CAN'T FUCKING AVOID BIG RED SHIT
Caleb Young
Maybe if they didn't all make P2W WoW clones.
Caleb Rodriguez
>WildStar has almost no retarded skill level players in it because of this. You can still get carried for the most part though since raid gear is a lot more common now. Datascape is a hard casual check still though. I hope attempting the first boss was a wake up call for some of the weaker players in my guild. People cannot afford to die.
Juan Robinson
>those feet
Eli Green
>I don't really understand how you can't fill a niche just because everyone is playing WoW or LoL. The world isn't that small It's not that the world is small, user. It's that the PC Gaming market isn't as big as it needs to be, and while its massive not, a grand majority of those gamers aren't playing MMOs, nor even consider touching them. Most are playing MOBA, FPS, and triple A titles. Console ports, ect. Forget the casual facebookers, and clicker game players, and focus on core.
Now cut out every single non MMO player, the cut out every MOBA player. That's all you have left.
Half of them are playing specifically WoW. The other half is now just a few million, most of which are playing FF14, GW2, and side playing LoL/dota/WoW.
Remove all those players and who do you have left? Maybe 3 million at the most.
Divide that up amoung 200+ MMOs that aren't WoW, FF14, and GW2. That's like 15K players per game.
now you have to make at least 2million$ a quarter in a modern MMO to keep your Dev staff and support team staff from walking out on you. That's a lot of expectation on a very small amount of players.
Hunter Foster
>That feel when so desperate for a good MMO that breaks the mold I might just go and attempt to make one
What's the worst that can happen? Surely it wont be worse than the shit we've got released now.
Thomas Lee
>some faggot who CAN'T FUCKING AVOID BIG RED SHIT I still see this in raid and it's mind boggling. I don't understand how someone can die to predictable damage, like spinning lasers. They spawn in the same place and move in the same direction everytime yet someone will manage to die to them.
Nicholas Diaz
The worst is that you make a great game that slowly dies in the worst ways as you try to keep it profitable.
Jack Perry
Why are you starting a fight that you cant win
Levi Moore
Good luck with your "survival multiplayer" game made out of Unity assets.
Aaron Butler
>>now you have to make at least 2million$ a quarter in a modern MMO to keep your Dev staff and support team staff from walking out on you. LOL retard.
Joseph Campbell
Let's be realistic here. I'm a single guy. If I ever made a working MMO, I could probably keep it alive and profitable with... 20 concurrent players. Probably less.
Chase Cook
I realized this when I was 10, OP. I stopped classifying MMOs as games at that age.
Christopher Flores
Because the vast majority of people grew up and stayed on WoW's coddling titties.
WoW has zero challenge, even mythic is easy compared to stuff like WildStar's Raids.
WoW is just handing out welfare epics, and easy content. They built their entire product on that concept.
WildStar represents the highest class of raiding skill, now imagine that everyone whos not a wildstar raider is probably too low skill to raid in wildstar.
That represents the median level of play that a player can handle.
Now remember that Median is the middle ground and half of those player are below that line.
WoW literally raise a generation of retarded spoiled MMORPG players.
Daniel Collins
>that slowly dies in the worst ways as you try to keep it profitable. No, you don't "try to keep it profitable", a MMO is profitable by itself. You try to jew people in the worst ways and they see what you're doing and they fuck off.
Tell me one single game that died because of a lack of subscribed players as the main reason. Just one.
Adrian Jones
Our only option now is Second Life
Charles Rodriguez
I don't want to play a good MMO. I want to play a good MMORPG.
I feel like we've been calling them "MMOs" for so long we've forgotten entirely about the "RPG" part.
Blake Nguyen
You don't keep the publisher of your Licensed title happy, you can kiss your IP goodbye.
Look at city of heroes. Look at Tales Runner.
Two games that were improving their numbers and income, both were publisher cut.
You don't have to just pull into the black in the gaming industry to keep your IP alive, you have to make a worthwhile profit or find yourself out of a job.
Camden Myers
>just found out a tale in the desert is still fucking going and is still under a subscription model
holy fuck
Daniel Morgan
>avoiding red areas is the highest raiding skill in mmos truly, dead genre
Michael Cox
I just don't understand why the weaker people in our group can't learn. We have one raider who used to be just terrible, absolute trash. But she got help from some of us and now she's a lot better. Not amazing but enough to be an asset. I just look at the other shitters and think, this 56 year old school teacher got gud so why the fuck can't you? what's your excuse?
Liam Thomas
>You don't keep the publisher of your Licensed title happy, you can kiss your IP goodbye. Sorry, why are you making a MMO with a publisher and a licensed title again?
Yes, see my point?
Eli Brown
Elite dangerous is not an mmo you numbnuts.
Brandon Cooper
FFXIV is fun.
Isaac Garcia
A lot of old MMORPGs stick around because their old IP licensee agreements expired and they're left open without major staff.
This is why old games like Rappelze Vindictus and Flyff stay open. They don't have huge costs to to recoupe for royalties and fees.
They have server costs and post licience development staff costs. Which is pretty cheap.
Most MMORPGs that are import or publisher supported are under a 3 year licensee agreement. And after a while as long as your game doesn't incur a loss, it's pretty much home free to stay online as long as the players care about it.
Noah Hall
>why are you making a MMO with a publisher and a licensed title again? youtube.com/watch?v=VJ56Kia8dTU Watch this. They explain it very well.
Juan Baker
I agree
Landon Lopez
I hope you're linking an extra credits video ironically.
Kevin Hall
No I don't. I want to command space cruisers. I want a space equivalent of ships-of-the-line sort of battle what I'd imagine real space combat be more of in spirit than hectic dogfighting of ww2 pilots.
Christian Thompson
Does it say "because we're retards"? Because that's the only real answer.
Matthew Barnes
filthy erpfag
Cameron Martin
It's a typical WoW treadmill except with cat/dragon waifu bait and a massively popular brand name to attract all the weaboos.
Dylan Cox
OR, Publishers have money, you shitty little dev studio doesn't.
Ian Russell
>extra credits
Nathaniel Cox
Try eso. I found it being the most 'rpg' out of all the 'mmos' i have played
Benjamin Ramirez
Tried it. It's unironically the best MMO on the market these days, but it's still way too themeparky for my tastes.
Oliver Miller
They're accurate, if not a bit simply explaining the situation that every MMO dev team finds themselves in, save except for Blizzard because Blizzard had their money to begin with and doesn't really need to gain approval from activision to get projects rolling out the door.
Blizzard could put literal shit, and people would buy it because it has a battle.net associated with it.
Connor Walker
And it's fun.
Thomas Collins
So? Take out a business loan or crowdfund or both.
In all other businesses, you first have to do the work, and then get paid btw.
Wyatt Fisher
>In all other businesses, you first have to do the work, and then get paid btw. Oh EXCUUUUUSE I TOTALLY DIDN'T KNOW THAT! Oh thanks for opening my eyes user. I totally didnt know that I had to work first then get paid.
Huh, thats a novel concept isnt it?
>So? Take out a business loan or crowdfund or both You're really fucking naive.
Look the game I'm working on the lore concept base for, we expect some 2.5million dollars for a 9month developement process of a game that has nearly the same content that Vindictus has from their level 1~75 season 1 content.
And a dungeon runner is a very, VERY cheap game to develop in something like Unreal4.
Yeah let me go up to a bank loan officier, and say "I GOT THIS GREAT IDEA, I NEED 2.5MIL WITH NO INVESTORS PUBLISHERS AND JUST SOME INDY STAFF" and I'll let you know how that goes.
But Crowd funding right?
You are aware that you need a super good sales pitch, a prebuilt tech demo with at least some sort of playable content, which would get players to invest to actually set up something like a Kickstarter.
What am I gonna do, throw around concept art and lore books and say "NO TRUST ME RANDOM PEOPLE, ITS GONNA BE GOOD" It doesn't work that way.
Andrew Phillips
>It doesn't work that way. It has happened before
Gavin Price
>a prebuilt tech demo with at least some sort of playable content Since when? People are still falling for kickstarter scams all the time.
Like you said, you just need a good sales pitch. So maybe hire Sean Murray or something to give you some pointers.
Camden Anderson
>we expect some 2.5million dollars for a 9month developement process Ok, and? How many of you is there working on it? I bet you could make the same thing for 10 times less if you weren't greedy pieces of shit.
>You are aware that you need a super good sales pitch, a prebuilt tech demo with at least some sort of playable content, which would get players to invest to actually set up something like a Kickstarter. Ok, and? Are you that incompetent that you can't even make that? Do you think money will buy you competence?
Aaron Butler
The combat is horrible and will most likely never be fixed, so no.
Nolan Ortiz
OMEDETOU!
Kayden Richardson
> FF14 Yeah it's kinda fun and it's well maintained with content regularly, also has lots of roleplaying if you're into that.
> Black Desert The game that could've have been amazing, but crashed spectacularly because Koreans are soulless gooks who deserve genocide.
Jackson Russell
Guild Wars was good
too bad it's dead ;_;
Christopher Allen
It also wasn't a mmorpg, hence why it was good Instances allow for actual leveldesign
Aaron Harris
>Ok, and? How many of you is there working on it? I bet you could make the same thing for 10 times less if you weren't greedy pieces of shit. We aren't "Greedy peices of shit" in this situation, we're a bunch of people passionate about a new IP and our goal isn't even really to make a profit off the game. The goal is to establish a new IP that redefines and re visualizes the high fantasy genre.
>Ok, and? Are you that incompetent that you can't even make that? Do you think money will buy you competence? You really don't know anything about game developement do you?
The lore and writing concept part of it takes years, tolkein didnt write lord of the rings the hobbit and the similrillion in a year.
Point is that every tech demo and presentation model is going to be different depending on what the purpose and intent of the game and its content will be about.
Look at HEX Shards of Fate for example, or Crowfall,
When these games presented, they were already established in their design and concept, and millions already spent on their design concepts, and HEX already bigtime talent on their rapsheet.
StarCitizen isn't the model you can look at, it's the anomoly, and many people are getting burned out by crowd funding situations anyways.
Dominic Lewis
> All these excuses when people were able to generate double thst money from literal scams with nothing to show for it
NOT. GONNA. MAKE IT.
Kayden Foster
>>The lore and writing concept part of it takes years No it doesn't. You sound like one of those retards who spend all their highschool and college years scribbling autistic shit in a notebook so they think it takes 8 years for "worldbuilding". Your game will be shit based on that alone.
Ryder Myers
>try new MMO >enjoy it >fries my GPU because its code is shit
Daniel Price
While I might agree (not the guy you were responding to) that worldbuilding doesn't take several years, I would also point out that such a mindset leads to shit like LoL, which has no worldbuilding whatsoever at this point.
Luis Nelson
No, calling out retarded autism doesn't lead to another retarded thing. There's a way to do a "generic world" with very little "worldbuilding", if that's what you aim for, but LoL obviously isn't it.
Dylan Baker
>I dunno shit about developement, and think half assed work is acceptable. It's funny watching people who know jackshit about game developement, and workmanship talk about things they know nothing about.
Tolkien is an example that's used because Tolkien himself spent a life time developing lord of the rings, and never even finished up details that he couldn't agree with himself on.
OFC you can do what Lucas did, and throw shitty halfassed writing and cocepts at a silver screen and watch an entire prequel series shit all over your previous developments.
If you want something that isn't riddled with plotholes and confusing problems within itself it will take you hears going from scratch to created universe.
When one of the core purposes of your game is to present a new lore creation and it doesn't have a team of writers behind it, yeah it will take years to develop.
Have you ever seen an actual PIXAR/Disney Animation studios storyboard and writing process for just one original movie, like say Zootopia?
Writing good and consistent lore isn't just making shit up and putting it down on paper and saying its done.
Adrian Nelson
>It's funny watching people who know jackshit about game developement If you need 8 years to write a backstory for a MMO, then you don't know jackshit about anything and you're literally brain damaged to the point that you should be housed in a specialized facility instead of being given money to inflict your autism upon the world.
And here's where the Freegans took the Land of Nod from the Evil Blubberers when Manuel Labor stopped the xzmyptzlktxch ritual from corrupting the taint.
Ryder Edwards
This fucking troll. The other poster clearly knows a fuckload more than you do, and here you are responding back "no that's just autism." That's absolute fucking brilliant, and amazing levels of dismissal and ignorance. No wonder the gaming industry is full of retards, people like you exist.
Chase Thomas
>>The other poster clearly knows a fuckload more than you do What specifically does he know except that it takes 8 year to write something that normal people do in a few months max?
Jacob Green
>Taking movie worldbuilding/scripts/lore as an example for video games
Unless you're building a story driven RPG or something similar which heavily relies on its story rather than gameplay, you're just being silly.
Nobody plays (played) world of warcraft/league of legends for the story, lore and interesting characters.
Aaron Evans
I'm sorry, where did I say I needed 8 years? Oh wait, I didn't... Infact your whole post is "I HAVE NO ARGUMENT, SO LETS JUST INSULT PEOPLE INSTEAD." You have no idea what the concepts or goals are, you make judgements before you know anything about the concepts and goals, and you're decrying "autism" on someone else.
We have a word for this behavior user, it's called projecting. It sounds like you had some sort of idea or interest in world building as a kid, but someone told you it was stupid, and made you do something else with your life and you hate yourself for it. Instead of being a bitter faggot, why don't you, I dunno, take a hint and prove me wrong. Rebuild an entire genre without plotholes and broken concepts in a few months and come back and post it. By all means please do it, prove me wrong.
Carson Powell
I really hate the "Lol healer a submissive slut" meme.
You know why I play healer? Because I am literally the ONLY fucker willing to take responsibility for making sure we don't all DIE. Alternately, I'll play the tank, for much the same FUCKING reason.
Everyone else always runs around, shaking their three-inch dicks and screaming about how awesome they are as DPS, never once stopping to consider that if I wasn't doing my fucking job, they'd be dead faster than you can say 'TPK'.
Respect your fucking healer; they're the one making sure your dumb ass doesn't croak. And now not only do they have to do that, they have to put up with you chucklefucks trying desperately to be funny, in the vain hope that someone will validate and love you in the way your parents never did!
Henry Thompson
Sounds to me like you suck cocks for a living.
Is your lore as boring and autistic as your posts? You know everyone just clicks to skip that, right?
Isaac Brown
>It sounds like you had some sort of idea or interest in world building as a kid, but someone told you it was stupid, and made you do something else with your life and you hate yourself for it. Now who's projecting lmao
Leo Nelson
Old WoW was great, alot of stuff was manualy done or had to be earned.
Ragnarok Online is a great fucking mmo, I only played private servers but the whole system of the game is awesome in amazed no one has copied its style.
the problem is with a game like wow is its a shining example of what an MMO can be and a game is expected to have. new MMOs think they can mess with 13+ year old behemoth when their developers just think of easy profits but fail to realize the care and content creation it takes on top of functionality to keep your playerbase.
Im trying to seek a new mmo, ffxiv just isnt doing it for me it was fun dungeon runs but feels too instanced for me.
Aaron Brown
IT's actually not just for a game, the game part of it is a compontent to introduce the lore itself as a different product. Have you ever looked through collected works of Dungeons and Dragons Lore? Like the Draconomicon, and Monster Manual.
Or have you read through Warcraft novels and comics, and other related lore?
The concepts aren't just for the game itself but building a new fantasy universe utilizing different concepts from the generic norm, and then explaining them in detail.
Essentially the same thing that tolkien did, but he spent decades doing what he did. The goal is that the Lore is a different separate IP from the game itself, and the games are based on this lore for theme and race designs.
And it's not just simple make it up, write it down. A lot of its crosschecked, and discussed between the two co creators, and there's a lot of study of anatomy and ecology. I spend way more time studying animals, and skeletons as well as watching fantasy movies and TV series than I do writing to find what fits and what doesn't. I don't even know at this point how many times I've seen the entirety of LotR extended editions, and the Hobbit. And I'm currently reading through the Redwall series
The plan is to release a physical hardcover book that any lore fan, or players who like memorabilia or RP/D20 dice games can buy as an accompaniment for the game
My job is literally researching lore, and writing lore. Something I wanted to do as a kid, and am now doing as a job as an adult. So, I think that projecting isn't the right word for my situation, I think the word is gloating. It's especially fun when I get to go to PAX, and meet up with people who love this kinda stuff, like James Portnow, and Chad Pappy Moore.
Henry Jones
>I suck SJW cock Are you a tranny too? Or just a neckbeard with tits?
Hudson Powell
>Or have you read through Warcraft novels and comics, and other related lore? Is this a serious question? Do you honestly believe anyone ever reads any of that shit after middle school? Have American brains really degenerated that much that this is a normal thing now?
Wyatt Wilson
MMOs are shit
Shitty retard people like OP who can't master simple game mechanics
Grind grind grind
Shitty retard people like OP talking about braindead shit like One Punch Man or Overwatch and these are people I'm meant to have ""fun"" interacting with as the draw of the game
MMOs are fucking horrid, I didn't socialise on them even as a kid because the players have always been shit taste faggots
Lincoln Morgan
>Just realising this
Luke Johnson
Actually quite a lot of people do. Lore is a very interesting aspect to a lot of people when they want to get into lore and many don't when they're in the process of playing the game for their progression.
Thats where moster manuals, and novels fall into a good place. Youtubers like Nobel make their entire youtube career off of Lore stuff, because people want to know the lore but they don't want to process it in the heat of the moment of gameplay.
>I don't do it, therefor everyone else doesn't do it that is some real autism right there. STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!!!
Julian Russell
>gloating about being a 'loremaster' sperg Jesus christ, Dunning-Kruger overload
Easton Nguyen
But ESO is fucking great.
Jack Smith
>Youtubers You're just digging your retardation hole deeper dude.
Dominic Wood
...
Evan Sanders
>TFW not using this correctly.
Isaiah Lewis
No. Its not.
Its a fundamentally good idea ruined by some horrid design choices.
Jace King
>gloating you get to do something you enjoy uhhh okay son
Let me know how that not-videogame with super special lore written by (you) turns out.
Brandon Cook
No, you fit it perfectly dumbfuck
Sebastian Morales
>TFW not using it correctly. Bragging about having a job that I love when most people hate their shitty jobs and shitty lives is not Dunning–Kruger effect, retard. It's called bragging.
Dunning–Kruger is about the false observation, utilization and engagement of skill, not about being a snob about quality of life.
Juan Gonzalez
You should get /fit/ instead
Thomas Butler
Dunning-Kruger is a false evaluation of one's skill
That is you, and the arrogance from that false observation is you
>tfw you are from reddit and can't use tfw right
Jaxson Lewis
You just haven't played actually good MMOs, e.g. SWG pre-NGE, Eve Online
Sucks to be you
Parker Jenkins
So what you'r saying is MMOs aren't shit, but the rotation based MMO formula is shit. And it probably even isn't shit, but just overused. I do agree that stuff like DayZ should be the future of MMOs, if it doesn't get stuck in the early access basebuilding theme for too long. Though the formula in itself doesn't work in grand scale. Escape from Tarkov seemed like a good MMO for a while, but now it looks like it's gonna be some Battle Royale shit
Sebastian Watson
>good MMOs >lists P2W eve Lol, no.
Grayson Ward
>knows the definition >equates quality of life to skill >doesn't work in the industry >claims they know more about the job of the person they are talking with than the person who actually works that job user, you are literally the living image of Dunning–Kruger syndrome right now.
Adrian Thomas
OP has a point. Everyone knows that rotation based MMOs are not the future, but I think the future is freedom. EVE was one of the biggest game changers because it offered the community to create their own meta, rules and world. Like Everquest back in the day. Though in one hand, because of the playerbase it became an autistic circlejerk of like 3 clans each worth 6-7 figures in IRL money not wanting to risk anything, just sitting there and at best doing little wars where no one really loses anything, or doing wars through vassals. So just like real world, since it worked on the same basis. But if the playerbase was more casual, would it just create a toxic community, like Rust but in larger scale or something?
Joshua Nelson
Dragons Dogma Online is great.
Cooper Morales
>this arrogance about a bottom of the barrel 'industry' Stop posting
Charles Perry
Eve wasn't P2W until like 5 years ago, I don't recall the exact year, when people talk about Eve they probably talk about those days.
Jack Myers
WoW didn't kill MMOs. WoW killed the generic rotation based MMOs, because it did it the best, in the largest scale. No one does new shit. The first one that did was DayZ, kinda, and it turned out good.
Nolan Jones
Thats true. Its very different these days to what it once was, no longer the high risk/high reward sandbox it used to be.
Aaron Perez
It is. For a while. But when I play MMOs, I wanna sink time in them. In the end it's just the typical daily/weekly stuff. There's just a ton more stuff to do in WoW, eventho the bosses especially are worse
Nathaniel Barnes
>I want to be that expendable retard in the tie fighter instead of Cpt.Harlock and his freighter
fucking cuck
Carson Allen
Minecraft is just an autism simulator with nothing good about it. If I wanted to build shit, I'd use AutoCAD. Placeholder graphics, bad combat, and no real goal alongside that awful combat leads to a game that's totally pointless, like most sandbox shit. At least Runescape has a point to it, even if I don't particularly care for it.
Grayson Jackson
MMOs with griefing options are the best. You get to hurt people in an environment where they have invested time and money into their goals. Let's say I make fun of some autistic kid in Day Z or Minecraft. He maybe a few days of progress, and in the case of the latter, can restore that shit pretty easily. If I beat the shit out of some kid in a game like Ragnarok or Lineage, he has potentially lost YEARS of shit, making it all the sweeter.
Zachary Gomez
Guess who does the damage when you're playing heal or tank? There's no role that deserves more respect than the others.
Sebastian Brown
How big is her penis?
Ryan Nguyen
>her >penis Retard
Landon Rivera
Girls can have penises you shitlord
Dominic Torres
Of its got a dick its a dude, duuude.
Hudson Garcia

Lay off the Cred Forums circlejerking for a moment so you can actually talk to other people without unintentionally shitposting.
Jaxson Butler
In about six months time, once I get gud at art and music this is what I'm planning on doing
Brandon Scott
Just discovering this? Are you 15?
Jaxon Ramirez
How is it wow's fault for people making shit mmo's? I wont even fucking start with black desert.
Jackson Collins
Why's she wearing such nice heels in her prisoner hospital rape gown?
Henry Watson
Planetside 2 is pretty great if u dont sick dick at videogames
Brody Garcia
Not an MMO. About as much of an MMO as Diablo or PSO. Which is to say not at all seeing as how you only ever see other people in your hub town or the few people you explicitly have to say you want to group with in your own little instance of the world.
Carter Stewart
>says the retard who doesn't realize every role is equally vital
Dominic Russell
wow you're such a cool guy
Oliver Price
Why can't the majority of black people study and work like the rest?
Jeremiah Harris
>it's pretty much home free to stay online as long as the players care about it and it's not run by NC"fuck you and anyone who wants to buy the game after we shut it down"Soft FTFY
Brandon Turner
You think the majorioty of white people study and work hard? Or the majority of any race for that matter? Thats why theres no such things as trailer trash, hicks, rednecks, etc and why the majority of any race isnt rich and successful. I doubt you work very hard either considering you are on Cred Forums midday you nigger
Justin Bennett
I didn't say hard. I said study and work. Yes I believe the majority of other races does these things, and my belief is supported by statistics.
Also what is timezone. In my country it's evening now.
Logan Scott
what statistics you faggot, the majority of people in the world are poor
Oliver Long
Third world doesn't count.
Parker Young
The only good voice acting is the male asuran player voice, everything else is awful.

t. this game genre wasn't designed for me so its the genre's fault
