Chrome by itself is a resource hog upwards of 3GB of RAM if you have more than 1 tab. You have no idea how resource heavy chrome is. On 8GB or ram my PC was giving me running of memory issues when I kept chrome open.

PS2 emulation runs pretty fine on my 4690k @ 4.3ghz and a R9 380x

I heard MGS3 is a bitch to run on even high end PCs, but I've never tried it myself. Persona 4 and DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 ran perfectly fine though at 1080p. Haven't tried much other stuff. If you want to "future proof" yourself, then yeah an i7 is better, but I'd wait to see how good or bad Zen is. You may get equal or better performance for less money. But these emulators only use like 2 cores, so idk.

You're better off just shelling out the extra money and waiting for the 7700k or even Zen. Both of which should have quite nice overclocking ability to be worth the leap. If you have that much ram it's probably not using much anyway and you won't see any performance increase.

If you want to save disk space just set it to 100MB or something, since it's wonky sometimes and won't let you change it back.

And an in-game browser.
