They're actually coming out with a bunch of games, which is utterly confusing to me. Are they trying to give the thing a second (or third) wind? Mario Maker/Woolly world ports, Mario Party, Mario Sports, a fucking Pikmin game, a new IP. The Wii U died in the time the 3DS came out, floundered about, started picking up pace and then slowing down and they're still giving it games.

Fuck, the 2010's have been awful for console lifespans. Everything takes 2-3 years to get a library where before you had stuff worth getting within half that period. Plus they're all copying Nintendo and going for constant redesigns to try and stay relevant, ignoring how devs won't make games that only target half of the user base.

I agree. It was a terribly designed console with a fucking stupid gimmick. The shoulder buttons were garbage (2 vanilla 3DS' had their R button die on me), the lower screen would scratch the upper screen, and it only had 1 thumb-stick. The graphics are fucking PSP quality, and the N3DS didn't go far enough in fixing the first gen issues.

Besides all that, it was still very successful and has a decent library of games. The Vita is the far superior system, but look which one died and which one is still around selling like crazy.

Hype dies down or something. I personally didn't think it held up as strong as the original, especially in terms of final bosses, but it was still a great game.

P&DX is a full RPG, with wandering around and dungeons and bumping into monsters for fights. It's not like the dungeons from P&DZ.
And yes, they are making another. Apparently it was rather popular in Japan. I don't know how well P&DZ did outside Japan, although I certainly hope well enough to get localized.

then you have the 3ds who mostly just expands on ds's franchises and the vita which doesn't even have ONE previously unseen megaten/persona game, and has yet to be fixed to acceptable state by the modding scene

GBA had some damn fine games - hell, WarioWare Twisted is an all-time favorite of mine - but I'm hard pressed to say it matches the DS in terms of quality. 3DS is definitely worse than both, though. And honestly, I quite like the Vita though admittedly I skipped the PSP in its heyday.
