The left looks better in .jpg, but in your hands NA gives you more motivation to play the game and honestly it doesn't look bad as far as "3D characters on a 2D box goes".
If the left's background was not solid white it would definitely be a really great box art.

I like both, but the subtle threat of the monster in the background on the right makes me lean towards that one

Maybe i'm just a proud yurofag, but i always like the EU cover of Deadly premonition.
The NA cover was way too random and the japanese one didn't really cover the feel of the game. Putting the raincoat killer on the cover as a classic B grade monsterfeature fit with Morgans love for movies. Also seeing the 10/10 PERFECT on my copy makes me smile to this day.
