>keep audio of leader
>have narrator talk over it
why though

Still strongly hoping someone will make a mod that turns him into FF Gilgamesh

>implying any leader ever looked that ripped
Sure make all chicks ugly as fuck when they were known to be beautiful but historically impossible male standards are okay

>civ that buffs other civs without getting anything in return

good guy gilgamesh. pick him if you want to lose

>Gilgamesh
>He only has two arms.

They're playing up the Epic of Gilgamesh, he is essentially mythological after all.

the vid wasn't clear

basically, both Gil and a nearby ally unit/s gain rewards, he can wage war on civs that are currently enemies with one of your allies without penalty, and he can levy city state armies at half the cost

...

Sfm porn with scythia when?

>finally get around to Civ V
>happiness is universal

Who approved this?

Well they fucked up because his beard was 3 times longer than that and he was never that ripped in his portrayals

>people not sperging out over a fictional leader because it's a guy

lol

>not wanting baramesh

they changed it back to local happiness in VI under amenities stat

Basic info from the vid

>Sumeria UA (Epic Quest): Every time you capture a barbarian outpost, you get a tribal village reward.
>UU (War Cart): Early-game cavalry unit that does not suffer penalties against spearmen or anti-cavalry units, can be bought/trained right at the game's start, and gains an extra movement hex if it starts the turn on open terrain.
>UI (Ziggurat): Provides science, as well as culture when adjacent to a river, but cannot be built on a hill. Can be built at the game's start.
>Gilgamesh UA (Adventures with Enkidu): When fighting a joint war, Sumeria shares pillage rewards and combat experience with the closest allied unit within 5 tiles.
>Personality: focused towards building and maintaining strong friendships with allies, and assisting them in war.

Hes widely agreed to be historical faggot

Just because claims about a person were impossible doesn't mean they didn't exist.

He was in Civ IV already.

In fairness ancient statues always made their leaders look like they spent 10 hours a day at the gym, so it's fitting.

the vid doesn't add to the UA that gil gains no warmongering penalty on declaring war on civs that are at war with his allies, and he can levy city states for 50% less cost

Good Lord those beautiful hands.

Dreamworks face

phil also has that face

I love it, I love smug faces

How long has it been

why is his right pec exposed

can he even pick his nose? look at the size of those hands.

silly human

demigods don't pick their noses, they let mortals do it for them

>2/3 god 1/3 human
How does that even work?

They knew that sex made babies back then, but they didn't really know anything about genetics in 4000 bc. They thought that all men who made love to the woman before she became pregnant contributed to the child's creation.

IIRC a god and a mortal man fucked his goddess mother.

No and that turns me way the fuck on.

>sexualizing historical figures

It seems like a great civ to have in the game, not so much to play yourself

Why is this a bad thing?

>bribe enemy to wage war on ally
>declare war on him
>???
>profit

...

I mean more that he's an early-game civ, and unless you're going for really fast domination victory, they always fall off in usefulness because then their UU is gone.

If historical figures didn't have sex they wouldn't have descendants.

>bribe enemy to wage war on ally
Considering the new gossip system, odds are the game will know when you try this shit.

we don't know how ai's react to gossip yet

I meant more of I would guess there will be gossip of "this leader has been baiting people into wars"

Now you won't get warmonger penalties because Gil by nature doesn't get any when helping an ally, but I wouldn't be surprised if leaders started trusting you less.

everyone has UUs now, it's now a matter of whether their abilities work over time

barbarians will always spawn, districts don't "vanish" and wartime is unavoidable, so he seems good

>everyone has UUs now

Was that not the case in V?

Is Brazil the only Civ shown so far with a modern era UU? Since they get a battleship replacement.

>You'll never fight side by side with your bro

in V, each civ has at least one unique unit, and another unique stuff (building, another unit, improvement) aside from the civ ability

for instance Greeks and Mongols have two unique units (Hoplite and Companion Cavalry, Keshik and Khan)

Sweden has 2 UUs as well, one of which isn't even Swedish

>not sexualizing historical figures

Brazil's is Industrial, like America, England and France

And apparently there are Modern, like America and German

to clarify those civs with two unique units are due to leader abilities

>battleships are industrial

That's some bullshit and Firaxis knows it

Battleship normally are Modern, but the one for Brazil is Industrial, that's its shtick apparently

>Unique unit for Brazil, replaces Battleship but is available earlier. It has "improved defense and ranged attack" and requires the Nationalism civic (instead of the normal technology).

The model inconsistency in 6 bothers me more than anything. Some models look terrible like Cleopatra, but some like Gil, redone Teddy, and Philip all look great. I'm hoping more models get updated like Teddy's did.

well, if it helps, apparently all the vids were made before major changes were made

i don't think Cleo is gonna change because while she was beautiful to their standards, if you read the description she was pretty uggo

Will probably be the first character I play as. I love the Epic of Gilgamesh. But also, I'm really hating this game's roster. They got rid of too many series regulars. However, I'm not a fan of Gilgamesh's playstyle, Cleopatra seems like my favorite playstyle so far.

>They got rid of too many series regulars.

It's fine, the roster will double by the time they decide to work on Civ 7

That clipping though

He looks like a dorf out of some fantasy game.

I wish. Dorfs aren't sexy like him.

It's his official design

It's his big hands.

>that's supposed to be a lion he's overpowering
Was Gilgamesh 25 ft tall?

You can if you just play as someone else and ally him

almost as if fantasy races were based on real life civilizations

Wait, aren't war carts from like the 14th century AD? Why does Sumeria have them?

is it just me or is his right arm way more jacked than his left

Did firaxs literally just purposely make the shittesty tier civ they could think of with gilg

mofo was a demi god after all

It's just gibberish, nobody knows what fucking sumerian sounds like

>local happiness
What's next, local finances and local tech?
What a step backwards.

Ancient Sumeria were the inventors of the horse-drawn cart. That's probably why.

>forgetting about Civ V Ottomans

Literally the only thing they had going for them was Janissaries.

this is apparently sumerian, although i can't find a definitive source for it because everything is in another language

there's others out there but this is the most clearly of a war cart

Cred Forums and /r9k/ unironically still believe this

Local happiness is how every game except V worked and makes far more sense. NYC doing well doesn't mean that Chicago should automatically be doing well, so they should have different happiness levels.

Why is he vaxing his chest?

yes

I prefer the belief some pacific islanders have that having sex once doesn't make the baby, and that the fetus is literally formed from the sperm. So the father has to keep having sex with the mother during her pregnancy in order to complete the baby.

I doubt it's entirely gibberish, Firaxis never deliberately added gibberish in IV or V they always opted for a different language if the actual one wasn't available.

>Cleopatra seems like my favorite playstyle so far.
cuck

what if it was just and angry kitten

it's a kitty

and then there's this asshole

local finances could work

Would probably be a logistical nightmare for the player though.

>I prefer something that has been scientifically disproven

They put second rate leaders to sell the real ones in DLCs.
We are going to get the Washington, Isabella, Churchill Napoleon, Julius DLC this year.

The dude was 2/3 god

local happiness has been a thing in all civs save V

I've warmed up to the artstyle
I really like the gameplay changes
I'm actually pretty excited to play it and will probably get it on day 1 and hope to christ it's not a civ5 again where I have to wait for DLC to get a decent game

What a shitty excuse, a flaw that's been in most games should be in the new one too

>flaw

Yeah but think of all the sex you get out of it.

yeah but with a pregnant woman

Just don't preorder. or if you do make sure you get it from the Steam Store for access to refunds

Civ V ran like ass on release(ironically the least of the problems launch Civ 5 had), Beyond Earth ran like ass, and XCOM 2 too, ran like ass. I like Firaxis and their games but they have bad releases that could almost give Paradox a run for their money.

To be fair, the whole game kind of has that Dreamworks aesthetic.

Your point being?

I plan on buying VI on release and using it as a benchmark for whatever graphics card I end up getting, I need a new one and possibly a new computer to run this game maxed out.
How fucked am I?

pregnant women are gross, dude.

His skin is too dark, everybody knows Sumerians were Nordic supermen.

>pregnant women are gross

well they gave system requirements

>fertile crescent civ
>nordic

Yeah but I don't trust those, not for running the game maxed out anyway. If the game runs like ass on release it'll need more than that, though IIRC Civ games tend to be more CPU dependent than anything else.

I really need a new processor. I mean I'm at recommended, but it's 8 years old now.

I have a 3rd Gen Intel i5 and Nvidia 670

>not having a preg fetish

>America / Theodore Roosevelt
Isolated militant-oriented, late game cultural victory. More isolated this time around. Roosevelt hates combat that occurs in his continent. Rough riders who die in his territory give America a culture bonus. All units gain bonuses for being within American territory.

>Aztec / Montezuma
Trade-focused, happiness-focused cultural victory. Happiness is replaced by "amenity" in case you weren't aware. Amenity is a stat which is affected by luxury resources. Montezuma's agenda is to gobble up all the luxury resources in the game. He likes civs who share luxury resources with him, and hates civs who have a certain luxury resource he doesn't have yet.

>Brazilian / Pedro II
Cultural victory through gaining amenity by means of production, nationalism, and producing great persons.

>Chinese / Qin Shi Huang
Defensive technologies-focused scientific victories. Gains technologies by building early game wonders. Hates other civs attempting to make wonders.

>Egyptian / Cleopatra
Early game, trade-focused cultural or diplomatic victories. Prefers to do business and ally with stronger, military-focused civs since Egypt doesn't have much to protect themselves with in late game. Improves districts and production by building early game wonders.

>English / Victoria
Mid-late game, seafaring militant cultural, diplomatic or domination victory focused on adding every continent to their civilization. Hates other civs settled on continents she's not a part of.

>French / Catherine de Medici
Mid game diplomatic victories by means of making a large number of spies and sending them to all the civilizations. Hates other civs who have more spies or that are spying on her.

>German / Frederick Barbarossa
Mid-late domination victory. Hates civs that associate with other city states since he wants to conquer them for himself. His cities can build more districts beyond the population limit.

If America has the P-51 Mustang and the Rough Rider, does that mean that other civs have 2 UU's as well?

Forgetting someone?

SARGON!!

Daily reminder Tomyris is bae and you're shit if you don't like her.

>Isolated militant-oriented, late game cultural victory. More isolated this time around.

Which is funny because TR was all about ending America's isolationist stance.

Where the fuck are you getting that?

dev info in site, well of souls, etc.

There is something wrong with his gilgaMesh.

Probably not concrete or even still in the game if they didn't mention it in the vid.

>Greek / Pericles
Early game, militant cultural victory. Attempts to gain suzerainty over all city-states. Gains cultural bonuses from city states and unique buildings. Gains an extra slot for wild policy card regardless of government type.

>Indian / Gandhi
Faith-based victory. Pretty much Gandhi in other games.

>Japanese / Hojo Tokimune
Military-based, production-based domination victory. Similar to Cleo, he likes other strong military civs, but unlike Cleo, he only likes other military civs who are also strong in faith and culture. Absolutely hates military civs weak in faith.

>Kongolese / Mvemba a Nzinga
Faith-based. Focused on creating great artists and great merchants.

>Norwegian / Harald Hardrada
Naval militant domination victory.

>Roman / Trajan
Trade-based militant domination or diplomatic victory.

>Scythian / Tomyris
Militant-based, somewhat faith-based subtheme. Hates civs who declare a surprise war.

>Spanish / Philip II
Naval, faith-based, trade-based diplomatic victories.

>Sumerian / Gilgamesh
Early game militant domination victory. Gains bonuses for defeating barbarians but also for pillaging other civs.

Yea, I thought that was weird too. Rough riders dying within american territory seems backwards. It should be rough riders who die outside of their territory or in other civs. Also, surprised by lack of panama canal-related abilities.

the vids were made prior to many changes

So far, it sounds like my preferred characters will be Theodore Roosevelt, Montezuma, Pedro II, Cleopatra, and Pericles.

I don't care for faith, military, or any kind of diplomatic-type victories like what Catherine de Medici has going on with the spies, those aren't that fun to me. I like improving my civ's government, culture, and infrastructure.

Qin Shi Huang sounds fucking boring.

Says you.

They better fucking fix that.

Does anyone else feel like each civ does too much shit at the same time?

devs responded in reddit

You should probably mention that there isn't a diplomatic victory type in VIRGINIA. They replaced it with religious victory.

Arabs/Saladin, Russia/Peter, Greece2/Grogo. Anybody else left?

>VIRGINIA

VI

Fucking auto correct

Gilgamesh is ALWAYS best ruler

What if they don't include Russia this time around as part of the sanctions? Imagine the butthurt.

Oh, lol. I was really confused what you meant by virginia.

Did they reveal victory conditions yet? Seems really weird to replace diplomatic victory with religious victory rather than just have both or keep religion as part of diplomacy.

but we know russia is in it already

WHAT IF IT'S A DECOY THO

Domination: To achieve a Domination victory, you must conquer the Capital of every other civilization.
Science: you must accomplish 3 major milestones:
Launch a satellite.
Land a human on the Moon.
Establish a Martian Colony.
Cultural: you must attract more Visiting Tourists to your civilization than any other civilization has Domestic Tourists at home.
Religious: Your Religion must become predominant (followed by >50% cities) in every major and minor civilization.
Score: If no civilization has achieved another victory at 500 turns, the civilization with the overall highest score wins.

They removed World Congress so there's no way to win a diplomatic victory, religion essentially replaces it. That said the bonuses for becoming suzerian of city states seems to be larger this time around.

Literally reskinned aztecs

REINSTATE WORLD CONGRESS NOOOOOO

>Can scout the map like a god
>Will have a shit ton of extra techs form farming barbs
>Everyone will want to be on his good side so he defends them and for his bonuses
>Cant fight around him since he can war for free if you attack his allies

Good fucking god

>Score: If no civilization has achieved another victory at 500 turns, the civilization with the overall highest score wins.

Score is honestly my favorite way to win.

they'll probably add it through patch, basically they wanted to see how players do things first

hell, diplomacy in V was essentially economic victory

he can also summon city state armies so easily with the 50% less levy cost

DLC goyim

BUT I'M JEWISH THEY CAN'T JEW THE JEWS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

>Hates other civs attempting to make wonders.
There's always one asshole

It should be noted that the devs confirmed Kongo is incapable of getting a religious victory as it cannot found a religion.

>>Kongolese / Mvemba a Nzinga
>Faith-based. Focused on creating great artists and great merchants.

>It should be noted that the devs confirmed Kongo is incapable of getting a religious victory as it cannot found a religion.

huh?

It was in one of the most recent livestreams which was uploaded to the youtube page. The chat asked the devs and they confirmed that since Kongo can't found a religion, it can't get a religious victory as you have to be the founder.

kongo enjoys having many religions in his cities but himself can't found a religion

Basically he cant found his own religion but gets the bonuses of all religions in a majority of his cities as if he founded them.

If he can get every religion in 51% or more of his cities he gets EVERY bonus picked in the game.

Sorry, Hardrade's been mai husbando for years now, can't just dump that for a Sumerian beefcake.

gay porn when

It's probably a variation on ancient persian.

get a load of this mongrel

The ruins from barb camps is really good, I didn't catch what their district does, but it's probably ok.
Coming from a civ 5 stand point, flat land start biases are much worse.
However the bonuses for allies in wars is actually a detriment in my opinion. You really don't want to help other people unless it also benefits you.

We have the ancient sumerian language in writing, but we have no idea how it's said. It was mostly replaced within the empire by Akkadian as a spoken language.

>I didn't catch what their district does

see

Someone should mod him in.

Civ games will always be on my "Must buy on first day".
You'd think I learned from Beyond Earth. But no.

Being half god makes you swole as fuck.

What does it replace? Campus?

look at that little pecker

Unlike Beyond Earth, we've seen extensive real-time gameplay of Civ from the devs.

>not reading the Epic of Gilgamesh
It's one of mankind's earliest mangas

It's obviously cold.

wasnt BE another team entirely

This. Its /cm/ as fuck.

Not him but they had a specific reason for that. It's because the Greeks were so into the pursuit of knowledge that they thought blood going to the dick was blood being taken away from the brain. Thus to them, dudes with giant dicks were just brainless barbarians who only knew how to fuck.

His portrayals were mostly in reliefs nigga. The man was described as being ripped in the text.

Was it? I think no but now I'm unsure.

Game was okay but it was disappointment all around.
Apparently expansion made things better but also made things worse. For 20 bucks or more, I ain't testing.

I'm actually impressed how the greeks or romans or whoever sculpted that knew what the human body looks like when they reach giga status.

You kinda have to be ripped to do the shit he did.

It's pretty damn good and almost deep.

I just can't store the stone tablets on my manga bookshelf because of their size.

>Was Gilgamesh 25 ft tall?
Maybe? He was supposed to be huge as fuck. A genetic specimen of a man. And he's also a fucking half god.

Two-thirds god, user

Maybe it's just a really small lion?

Fuck off with this shit. No one cares about GamerGate or immigration on Cred Forums.

It looks like a lion skin that Hercules is holding, so maybe demigods back then were 15 feet tall, or lions were really small.

That is a nice quote.

It made it a little more tolerable but it didn't fix some terrible fucking flaws and completely fucked diplomacy.

Who /DAYONEPIRATE/ here?
Only buying it after they release some expansions desu

You can look it up, it's why all their great heroes didn't exactly have a summer sausage packed down there.

I haven't pirated games since the PS2 era. Just don't feel like not paying for games anymore.

Movies though, I'm all about pirating that.

Night time always brings out the redditors. At this point Im starting to get some sleep in because of these memesters.

Real nigga hours? More like real reddit hours.

It's also Australian prime time.

who else /adelaide/ here?

Movies and music.
I don't think I've ever paid for music.
Most bands make their money from concerts anyway.

Adelaide?

I've bought albums that the artist directly sells.

>Artists should work for free

I bought music a couple of times irl. Mostly when I was wish a girl also buying it.
Bought a few things on bandcamp since that's been available.
Apart from that yeah, pure piracy.

Nope, BE devs were different from Civ V and VI devs, particularly VI devs are BNE expac devs

A city here.

gatorade?

You aren't Adelaide :(

>When you realize the Epic of Gilgamesh is really nothing more than the worlds first self-insert fanfic
>the real Gilgamesh was probably a scrawny/fat wine-cellar dweller

Flaw in that argument: Gilgamesh fails in his quest. As perfect as it makes him out to be, his downfall is brought about by his own inherent flaws that are inseperate from what makes him who he is. Which means by the literary definition, The Epic of Gilgamesh was literature's first tragedy.

youtube.com/watch?v=_Oh2HzwZxOc

Nice, seems like i can finally play with my country without sucking dicks.

Degenerates do come to view their flaws in a positive life.

>I died of heart disease because I'm fat.
>s'cool, being fat is cool, eating is cool, no regrets
>people'll find this tragic and maybe think being fat is cool too!

So really, he's more trade-based.

He dies of a broken heart because his only friend was gone and he lost everything.

Besides, Gilgamesh wasn't some nobody, he was the irl king of Ur for 400 years (granted we have no idea how they measured a year).

Civ 6 sfm porn when

You will always suck dicks, user. I'm sorry.

It's a tile improvement.

Just don't run into Barbossa

Probably does through the general connection of Mesopotamia and geography. And how people could only move around the region slowly.

Leader Ability: Adventures with Enkidu. This ability has 3 parts:
He can declare war on anyone at war with one of his allies without any warmonger penalties.
When at war with a common foe, Sumeria and its allies share pillage rewards and share combat experience gains with the closest allied unit within 5 tiles.
Gilgamesh can levy City-State military forces at 50% of cost.

>polynesia tier bonuses (one of the weakest civs in civ 5) but somehow worse since you don't get extra embarked sight and have to get a tech.

Did you miss their video, or something? Pillaging is fucking huge in this game, so pillaging FROM A DISTANCE is really strong, and Polynesia bonus (early open sea access) didn't mean much for the Polynesians in Civ 5 because past exploring they couldn't go to war with it easily. Norway can. There's some stream videos where they go to war with Japan, and they can just stay out of their range forever because Japan doesn't have access to the same tiles Norway does.

>kongo
>completely blocked off from one aspect of the game and a possible victory condition.
>cannot get any early game benefit from a pantheon and is completely reliant on neighbours picking something that helps them.

They get free Apostles, so will never be out of a religion. The whole being blocked off a victory type sucks, but getting very easy spreading and the founder beliefs with them (imagine getting free Tithe every time) is pretty strong. Their unique building seems god tier, too.

How did they get away with this?

We will never get highways will we,

Most of the default civs seem boring. I'm hoping for some good ones in dlc/expansions.

Also looking forward to mods

I always wanted something like that.

>generic roads give gold for city connections
>railroads give production
>highways give growth

something like that.

What are some historical sluts?

>Notes: Fishing Boats are constructed by embarked Builders, rather than a special unit as in Civ V.
I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Does repairing pillaged tiles use a charge?

People say Theodora, but Procopius was a butthurt liar. In that same text he said Justinian killed "a trillion people" and that he was a literal demon from hell.

Theodora

All we have left for Vanilla to be "officially" revealed are Arabia led by Saladin and Russia led by Peter the Great. Plus Gorgo as an alternate Greek leader, I suppose.

Forgot to mention that Acropolis must be built on Hills.

Spies are a unit that you build again, so I suppose she likes it best if you're building to your capacity and getting as much diplomatic access as you can. Basically, she respects you for playing the spy game.

(Keep in mind that one function of being disliked is that they're more likely to declare war and/or give you bad trade deals- you can also think of it as if you're not playing the spy game, she has a major information superiority over you and knows your strengths and weaknesses and how to take advantage of you.)

Repairing is explicitly free for builders, though it uses turns.

wtf i love scythia now

Theodora
t. Procopius.

Catherine the Great too.

Mesoamerican jade is very much a thing, though it was more of a specialty for the Mayan and Olmec.

Aztec are more known for their turquoise artifacts, but it should be mentioned that they did use a variety of materials for jewelry, and jade was known to them as well.

I forget who it was, but she started out as a prostitute, would lie naked and have barley laid on her genitals and have geese eat it off her and was heard saying she wished her nipples had holes so that she could fornicate with them.

>(Keep in mind that one function of being disliked is that they're more likely to declare war and/or give you bad trade deals- you can also think of it as if you're not playing the spy game, she has a major information superiority over you and knows your strengths and weaknesses and how to take advantage of you.)
That's a good point. If you have a good spy network, she doesn't necessarily "like" you, but she realizes that she won't get that much out of messing with you and would rather be on good terms.

Civ5 actually had a similar system behind the scenes where everyone would start "disliking" (seeing you as easy to bully) if you seemed weak, but it was totally fucked because it made it impossible to stay friendly with other leaders without building up a strong military. Hopefully agendas will clean up in that mess by giving you a way to appeal to specific leaders you wanna be buddies with.

Really liking the unique bonuses from city states. Makes it seem a lot more interesting to try to keep them as allies. I mean, La Venta lets you build a fucking unique tile improvement.

pls respond.

Nevermind. Found it!

A lot of them are still just generic enough that they could still be swapped with other names if they became a full civ, but yeah, I don't think Olmec will be anything but a City-State in VI.

Yea dude, Brussels is known for it's massive world wonder production.

I like their uniqueness, don't give a shit about how realistic or historically accurate they are. I like how it allows you to pick a few states that will become really important allies to you based on what bonuses are most useful, as opposed to Civ5's "just get as many allies as you can afford" bullshit that made it a chore to maintain relations with city states you forgot even existed.

I want to feel his exposed pectoral

>Hattusa

Holy shit. That can't be balanced.

Preslav is going to be important if there is Scythians on the field

>"Brussels is known for it's massive world wonder production"

Skipping your grammar and focusing on the flaw in your sarcasm, it may be true that Brussels has no "world wonders": whatever is considered a "world wonder" is a political choice to begin with.

Brussels is filled with beautiful and old European architecture. Have a different person create a list of world wonders and you might have Brussels there, that's the idea behind it.

A god has sex with a demigod

The issue I have with the appearance of the game isn't the artstyle, but how the models move. On a few it looks alright. On others, the movements of the leader look stiff and robotic. In short: they look very unnatural in motion.

If I turn quick combat on it somehow disables animations for civ leaders? What?

I thought you were talking about unit leaders, so nvm.

Does anyone know if you can play custom maps in multiplayer this time? People were brutally disappointed in CiV because it lacked such.

yeah they messed up shia's model

What about something like a waffle house that can only be purchased with gold from the industrial era if you are their suzerain. +amenities, + housing.
Fucking hire me firaxis.

Are you talking about Cleo? Cleo is fucking hot as shit.

I thought everyone agreed global happiness was terrifly antifun.

Is Civ5 babbies who think empires are only 4 cities

>Rough riders who die in his territory give America a culture bonus.
pretty sure it's when enemies die
>technologies-focused scientific victories. Gains technologies by building early game wonders.
they get +10% out of eureka boost, that's the only tech boost they get
>Early game, trade-focused cultural or diplomatic victories.
there are no diplo victory anymore
>Mid game diplomatic victories by means of making a large number of spies
france only gets +1 spy

no, rough rider is part of leader ability

can't really blame them since it took so long for Liberty opening to be viable

no, ciV civs were far too identical

Rough Rider and Redcoat are Leader ability units.

>>Greek / Pericles
>Early game, militant cultural victory.
there's nothing militant about greek abilities apart from the hoplite
>Gains bonuses for defeating barbarians but also for pillaging other civs.
correction: their allies share plunder with them

Tradition is still better. It also doesn't help that the AI flips their fucking shit if you settle your capital too close to their third expand, and god help you if you settle a city 4 tiles from your cap in their direction.

>sharing misinfo

The Sumeria civ itself has the ability where the Barbarian encampments count as Village Ruins (a.k.a. huts) when you capture them.

Now Gilgamesh's ability is a three-way one. The "share exp to nearby allies", "no warmonger penalty when declaring war to ally enemies", and "50% less levy cost".

Geneva seems to be by far the strongest of them all, but at the same time it puts a target on your head for all other civilizations to attack you

>polynesia tier bonuses (one of the weakest civs in civ 5) but somehow worse since you don't get extra embarked sight and have to get a tech.
>melee units are mainly used defensively to block tiles, berserker's have less defense than the unit they replace so they are worse at it than the unit they replace

>t. pleb who dont understand how stuff work together

"polynesia bonus" combines oerfectly with longships and coastal pillage ability, so it's something very different this time around.
the berserkers defense penalty is a tiny -2, while the attack penalty is a rather big +12. And then there's pillage bonuses too, just slap on some policies to boost the plunder gain and pillage everything for loads of science, culture and faith

Gilgamesh as he is portrayed in that book is a legend.

That legend is based on a Sumerian king called Gilgamesh, who is a historical figure and is the one in the game.

Go see Wikipedia.

geneva one is the strongest but can be countered by declaring war
jerusalem one is really strong
la venta couldbe good depending on what the yield is. Even if it's just moais, that's good.
stockholm is really strong
zanzibar is +12 amenities for your empire which is good

I also like how your influence doesn't decay over time and it's tied to envoys.

Though 'historical' Gilgamesh is found on a later kings list which also has people down as ruling for hundreds of years.

We can assume what Sumerian sounds like based on what languages it ties to. I mean we can't perfectly replicate it but we can get pretty damn close

What happens to Jerusalem if a player who didnt found a religion gets it?

>city-states are still in the game

guess I'm skipping this one too

Ok but where is my King Arthur in Civ VI?

To be fair, he's about as "historical" as Dido and people sperg out about her

what would he rep though

even if Gil is fictional, Sumer is real

>kings list shit
Another "mythic" fact irrelevant to evidence of the existence of Gilgamesh.

>we can get pretty damn close
Not the same user you replied to, but I highly doubt that. We have sophisticated guesses, but if Sumerians were here now, I'm sure it'd sound nothing like they have on a cartoony Civ game.

Still more historical that some leaders we have in pass civilizations.
Is also not the first time Gil is in Civ, which is suddenly a problem?

but what's the point of suzerain before industrial era then

People whine about all kinds of inane shit

Civ was never a history simulator, merely has a historical flavour. And complaints make even less sense in 6 because there will be multiple leaders

>what would he rep though

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_Britons

That's not very nice fella.

>still no r34 of cleopatra

What's the point of being suzerain of kandy if you've found all the wonders?
What's the point of being suzerain of jerusalem if you have no religion?
What's the point of being suzerain of preslav if you're past the eras with horse units?
What's the point of being suzerain of nan modal or lisbon if you aren't coastal?

What did they mean by this?

That the game is well optimised

More like, normie optimised.

phew, just make the minimum

Jerusalem becomes the holy city of atheism.

Civ is a game for normies if you haven't already noticed the numbers on steam.

Are you unironically going to bitch about muh graphics in a game where half the players are going to be playing on strategic view anyway?

Yes and?
