There's more than eight characters because, for example, Guts and Griffith play differently depending on which you're in. Although I do agree that first licensed games always start off with limited rosters which eventually expands in sequels or through DLC.

New musou series usually start with few characters, it's not strange. Like Hyrule Warriors for instance.

I think Hyrule Warriors and Ken's Rage are pretty much the only Musou titles where KOEI opted for straight up DLC characters. They're generally much more keen on adding new ones in sequels.

Honestly I've seen less graceful transitions to digital.

It's a shame Miura made the switch from conventional art to digital but that just seems the way things are going. It's faster and cheaper, not only for the artist but also the publisher.

That said when conventional artists switch to digital we usually see a big dip in their quality but they do tend to improve with time. Maybe in a year or two he'll be back to where he was maybe he'll just get worse; Who knows. Either way be thankful it didn't go full Shirow.

You know the idea of a living with the brand curse black swordsman arc simulator where it's just you and puck traveling around killing apostles and collecting behelits would probably be amazing.

By day you go into towns for food, money, repairs, upgrades, tools, items and a place to rest. By night you go out into the wilderness and fight monsters and evil spirits called to you by the brand. Your mission in general is to track down apostles and you mostly do that in towns by daylight.

Apostles are like the big boss fights and killing one covering the Dragon Slayer in their blood is how your upgrade your character. They also tend to be in positions of power so you also get treasure you can spend in towns and then you move on to the next Apostle and kill them for their Behelit.

I dunno I think there is a fun action game in there.

FOTNS had only 8 characters and was locked at 60, but it was one of the best-licensed musous up to Zelda, meanwhile 2 was 60 had a ton of characters and had both co-op and versus multiplayer but was one of the worst.

It's a shame that Berserk adaptations are always set up to fail. They're always going to be low budget due to the gratuitous nature of the source material, and then they have to live up to Miura's insanely intricate and detailed art.

What matters is that an adaptation is internally consistent, not how much autistic detail was adapted from the manga. As I've admitted, a lot of stuff that should have been in the movies didn't make it in (stuff like the first night raid and the Bonfires of Dreams are important for Guts' development) but just because muh wyald muh dumb queen revenge plot were cut doesn't make it bad

casca is white, most all action scenes have the characters as bad cg models that are still poorly animated, poor rushed writing and bad acting, also starts in an awkward part.

Give some more detail about why you think this. I like Berserk cause i find the story enjoyable as well as the various artforms it takes. It is fairly unique in several aspects but also takes age old stories about swordsmen wizards blah blah and puts its own spin on them.

There's a thing in cinematography where you can divorce an emotional moment between two characters from the background chaos. Obviously it shouldn't be too drawn out as to be jarring, but it shouldn't look like it was made in windows movie maker by some kid with ADHD.
