When you first play the game, everyone dies to an ultimate. As you level up and play with better people, you'll find that ultimates only take out one or two people on average, three if they're lucky, four if your team really was too retarded.

D.Va's ultimate, the one everyone says is overpowered when they first play the game, ends up being the least likely to kill anyone at all. Its point becomes breaking up the enemy team instead of actually killing them.

Most of the counterplay to ults is to counter with your own ult or very reliant on having certain characters in the team comp.

For example, Zarya's ult + d.v'as is a guaranteed wipe against a team that doesn't have reinhardt or winston ready to shield it. And even then their team will still mostly be dead because Reinhardt had to block the bomb and not protect his teammates from being shot.

It typically doesn't though. The offense team usually uses theirs all at once, but one or two counter-ultimates from defense usually works.

It can become a bit of a clusterfuck on KOTH, but the walk-back times aren't nearly as long as a payload map so dying isn't as big a deal.

Siege is a unique team-based shooter with nothing else like it out.

Overwatch is a f2p game being sold for full price while also being a patch job of multiple different shooters and with a marketing budget greater than R6's dev cost.

In Zarya's case, the counter play is to spread out so she can only get one person at a time.

D.Va bomb can also be entirely blocked by sound barrier if you somehow all get caught.

Still playing siege though. Its not that overwatch is bad, But I enjoy the gameplay of siege more. I cant say I've ever had 2 matches that felt the same in siege.

All my friends stopped playing overwatch, even the guy who was massively hyped for it and preordered it. We still play siege.
