I got upset that I don't have a rig to play Dark Souls, Metal Gear Solid, and CS:GO on. That's what I'd really like to be doing.
HOWEVER, I have an intel 5500 graphics laptop. I got the following games. >Resident Evil 2 >Resident Evil 3 >Thief Gold >Thief 2 >Thief 3 >Deus Ex >Quake >Grim Fandago >System Shock 2 They don't know how good we got it.
Any other suggestions like this, older "greatest of all time" games that are better than most modern games?
Nathaniel Fisher
Oh, and can you play the Dark Souls I and II campaign on a mobile i5500 and an i3?

Why not fucking try it when Dark Souls goes on sale for 5 dollars again?
That said, try some old and sometimes new indie games
>Cave Story >Iji >An Untitled Story >Hero Core >Dwarf Fortress (might be hard on an i3 though) >Anything RPG Maker >Bunny Must Die >Knytt, Knytt Stories, Knytt Underground (last one is on steam, others are free) >Within A Deep Forest >Touhou shit >Terraria
You can also probably run shit in PPSSPP, like Monster Hunter P3rd
I also recommend grand strategy games like EU4, though my friend's toaster couldn't handle that.
And Doom sourceports + mods which could last a lifetime.

Stock up on fan missions for Thief, there are plenty of them. Emulate anything up to ps1.

psp emulation
>psp is it 32 bit? I noticed that when it becomes 64 bit or higher, emulators stop running well
I can play peacewalker then

since you like system shock 2: System Shock (enhanced edition is the best release of it) Ultima Underworld 1 and 2 (progenitor games to SS1 also made by Looking Glass)
if you like roguelites: towerclimb nuclear throne downwell
if you like roguelikes: DCSS
if you don't like roguelikes yet: brogue

idk if the team that made system shock and bioshock knows how to handle gameplay as well as other devs. I always get frustrated. I really want to like infinite and system shock 2 but idk if I can complete them.
Oliver Hall
>team that made system shock and bioshock literally one person was on both teams and he's a massive faggo
Infinite is a completely different game from SS2, I really dont get why you're comparing them

Oh, Oolite is also a good suggestion. Nice space trading/combat sim if you mod it to have a bunch of content, but light on the system, unlike newer (and not free) games like Elite: Dangerous and X3
Hunter Wilson
some article I read that was misleading
idk they were both frustrating at points, but I'd say infinite was moreso. I should be more patient with system shock, maybe have a beer.
I was getting into both but then I realized that infinite gameplay was so so
and I was trying to find my way in System Shock but I didn't know where to go, so the battles with these little psychic monkeys eventually wore me down because I encountered them 6 times.
maybe I'm just a dumbass.
but I thought that when you're in the theater and finkerton is announcing "this is my bla bla bla worker he has over 300 confirmed kills," then you see he's just a default special enemy.... I'm like...what? Who was responsible for the actual game aspect of this?
Ethan Nguyen
4x is games like civilization, eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate
also, just use the 32 bit version of the emulator
David Watson
I had a 6 core amd and a 2gb graphic card and it could barely emulate PS2 games, meanwhile games 10 times more intensive ran well.
I just think that emulators on windows don't know how to handle they bits
Thomas Brooks
PS2 emulation sucks, PPSSPP emulation is way better
Xavier Thompson
infinite's pretty shit dude, might as well put it down. you're playing about 20% of a linear prototype rather than a completed open-world game.
as for ss2, idk, maybe you're not listening to audio logs? the game's pretty straightforward, but if you were encountering lots of monkeys toward the start then I know exactly how you got lost. you were in the 2nd level of the game, "med/sci 2" (specifically the west wing of it, the "Med" part) and your objective was to find a keycard to open up the east wing, the "sci" part.
you had to climb down a ladder that doesn't exactly look like a ladder (pictured on the left) to get to the corpse that holds it. the ladder also goes to an upper floor so i dunno, you might've missed this somehow.
if this was your issue, then i also know you didn't have the minimap enabled. if you pick it up again, press M and tick the little box to get the persistent minimap

and, i forgot my image like a dum-dum. here

infinite was incomplete and it wasn't made by the system shock people, apparently games journalism is so fucking dishonest omg
I haet the big corporations man.
really glad you got stuck on the same spot as me =)
maybe ill check walkthroughs when I need and still feel like a big boy
