It was the split to Cred Forums and /vg/. Or in that same time when /vp/ was spun off. I can't remember exactly when that shit happened, it doesen't feel like that long ago. The board was stupid fast and half of the shit was useless generals getting perma bumped by people shitposting to try and get them to auto-sage.

Right before captcha was also pretty bad. Tons of spam and shitposting and botposting. Captcha really slowed posting down a ton and incentivized longer posts because of the timeout.

there was that whole bullshit with mods who would remove anything they deemed "offensive" even if it really wasn't, and they just didn't like it.

i admit that all the fanbases had a hand in ruining the board, but they all come and go. Biggest offender had to be SU by a long shot, but overall that's nothing compared to the bullshit that janitors and mods caused on that board. If it were _just_ the fanbases, i could get over it.
