Honestly it's because most people here are lazy good-for-nothings and don't have something like waifus to unite them. You get your intermittent release like Cred Forumsirginquest but it's hardly the same thing, and it's usually just a one man project because actually letting random Cred Forumsirgins on the project is a giant fucking mistake.

Hell I can't even be fucked to work on my own game. It's a lot of work to make a decent game.

The thing about collaboration is you can't just collaborate with anybody. You have to collaborate with likeminded, motivated people.

Most modders and the such don't even give you a look unless you have a project under your belt.

That's the real problem with Cred Forums collabs - it's anonymous and open. Not a problem when it's something like the Musical, where you submit content or fuck off. More a problem when there's room for absolute losers to hang on.

Have you not seen /agdg/ abd dev threads? Cred Forums makes games, but their is no reason ti collab when we all have different ideas and ideals. I'd rather have Risk of Rain than Katawa Shitshow. I'm sure Valhalla shits all over Cred Forums's VN anyways.

eh I can sorta feel him on that. I have not once had a good time trying to show off any of my work on Cred Forums to try to get feedback or ideas for content or whatever.

I remember one time, I posted a little road layout thing I'd made in Hammer and asked what I should fill in the empty bits with (on a conceptual level, like, what would look good and not be literally too complex for the editor to handle) and it promted a literal ten-hour meltdown of someone insisting I was a terrorist and that they were gonna call the cops on me.

Also, way back when, in like 2009 or something when Pressure copypastas were going around like candy, I tried to prototype a few gameplay elements. In the inevitable next Pressure thread, I actually said what I'd done and the problems with it and that it's generally kinda empty as a game concept, but totally 100% workable even in primitive engines, but everyone latched onto the phrase "I made a prefab" and wouldn't stop chimping out for like 200 posts about how apparently I was stealing content and didn't actually make anything myself and shit.

Fuck Cred Forums and especially fuck Cred Forums. The only worse group to show vidya content to is actual gamers
