There are so many to choose, don't make me pick one
the n64 was released June 23 1996 dummy
Banjo kazooie
Kirby 64
Diddy kong racing
Smash
Mischief makers
My top 5. I like the the n64 and hate the image it has. Too normalfags its the current "SO NERDY xd" console, I see peoole wear shirts and hoodies with tbe logo of it constantly. Then actual peoole who play games shit on it because if the audiance it attracts. I think it's a pretty great console.
rainbow six
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie
F-zero X
Diddy Kong Racing
Ocarina of Time GOTG
N64 COTG
It may have launched with two games but man was it quality over quantity. This came out two months later though.
Bomberman 64 will forever be my favorite multiplayer game.
Banjo Tooie, Paper Mario and Jet Force Gemini are my favorites. I might fire up my old friend and play some jet force tomorrow to cebrate.
I thought you were just trolling us, but there actually is a R6 game on the N64. Wow.
Ogre Battle 64
also happens to be my favorite game, period
I'd argue it had quantity too. So many fucking games.
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
...
The N64 is sex in videogame form. The console's design and incredible build quality/durability, the sleek cartridges with beautiful packaging and manuals, the god tier games. I get a huge boner just thinking about it.
...
Shitters who complain about this game's controls crack me up.
This
I
AM
I don't know that anything stuck out to me so hard I could call it my favorite. There were a lot of good games on that system.
>trying to beat Quest 64 without water magic
Literally impossible and fuck that crystal cave you had to go through. Literally everything looked the same and I needed up going backwards so often that it took me hours to get through.
WANT
Smash 64... back when I had friends...
...
Can't wait for yooka-laylee
youtube.com
I fucking love this level
Wave Race 64 was incredible
it had better water physics than fucking arcade games at the time
i unironically liked quest 64
what i want to happen
>for the 20th anniversary of the N64 and Mario 64 I'm proud to announce "Mario 64: Yhe Sunshine Universe"!
>play as mario, luigi, wario, and waluigi in a mario 64 inspired game
>use their different abilities and try to collect all 600 stars!
what will most likely happen
>for the 20th anniversary of the N64 and Mario 64 I'm proud to announce "Mario 64: Sticker Splash"!
>play as Mario, Peach, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad in this paper mario take on mario 64!
>collect all 50 stars while enjoying the "hilarious" dialog and new rpg elements.
i also had hexen for n64
i wish i still had it but my place got broken into a few years ago
I swear I salivate everytime I see this box art.
I liked it too. I rented it as a kid. Even played the GBC version later.
I also enjoyed Castlevania 64.
Nah dawg, that ain't boring for having patrician tastes.
SM64 is the best 3d platformer of all time, everything else just tries to imitate but fails miserably
Try replaying it
...
mahhh nigga, great soundtrack as well. Never thought I'd find myself enjoying Jazz-type music, and didn't even know that's what it was at the time.

Here's a SERIOUSLY underrated game World Driver Championshiop
JFG was such a good, polished game.
Too bad Rare died shortly after.
A CRACKING SHOT
youtube.com
Maybe if you really like racing games I guess. Looks boring to me from that web.
Don't worry, decent chunk of the Banjo team made this.
I remembering my older brother pushing me into renting this for whatever reason. I got home and playing the first level I thought it was fucking awful and threw a fit over it. Since that's what I had to play for the weekend, I kept playing.
Needless to say I ended up loving it . Rented it for two more weekends so I couls beat it. Good times.
>Tfw you finally get to be the polar bear after being bullied by it so much
So awesome
It's basically the N64's Gran Turismo.
I guess if you find Gran Turismo boring you'd also find this boring. The challenge is trying to stay in control of a realistic handling vehicle at high speeds.
I love this game so much. Could never beat the K. Rool boss fight though.
I'm really impressed with how well the different teams at Rare both understood how to make a good shooting game, the lack of hitscan enemies is fantastic.
Playing it right now.
Boss made goat racing games

The N64 was the perfect console for racing games
don't be sad that its over, be glad that it happened.
Super Mario 64
Ocarina of Time
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye 007
Battletanks 64
We have to see if Sea of thieves is good too. It looks promising although we haven't seen much.
They're also making something else in secret, which the Playtonic devs know about and said they wanted to colaborate eventually. We'll have to see.
If Rare gets back into shape, we'll have two Rares with Playtonic, I'd cream my pants.
>WE NEED MORE BOTS! PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT
>Jean-Luc will never be in a musou game
Maybe Rogue Squadron, I don't know if it holds up though.
In retrospect I had no idea that Nintendo was being so badly by Sony during the fifth generation of consoles. Seemed like Nintendo was everywhere during the 90s and everyone I knew had an N64.
Superman 64
>tfw I'll soon be 20 years old
Anyway, Paper Mario which I've only ever emulated.
>600 stars
Have fun grinding for 100% you autist.
Fair enough. If I play a racing game, I usually play something like Diddy Kong Racing, Wipeout, Rollout, Sonic All Stars Transformed, etc.
Rayman 2 the Great Escape. Fucking brilliant.
I got it as a gift from family, and could never beat the jungle area because of the ridiculous Hyena jumps
F-Zero X
>In retrospect I had no idea that Nintendo was being so badly by Sony during the fifth generation of consoles
PS1 had significantly cheaper games and a much bigger selection
N64 could sell on the basis of better multiplayer, more technically advanced system, and a large collection of "GOTY" games, but that wasn't enough.
ADON
I remember my ma and dad got me an N64 for Christmas the year it released. Dad died two years later, but not before he took me to Babbages and got me Goldeneye. I remember they gave me a poster at the store when I got it. Miss my father, still have the poster.
Super Mario 64
A game that unfortunately stands unrivalled to this day.
>Jumping Flash is the best 3d platformer of all time
Fixed that for you
Easily.
Rogue Sqaudron or Shadows of the Empire. Loved those fucking games.
Currently playing it on Retroarch, it´s pretty fun famalam.
Did treasure make anymore N64 games?
Here comes the Bomberman
They made Sin & Punishment
If you liked Marina, you should try Rakugaki Showtime, is fun.
youtube.com
I liked TSA better. First one's multiplayer was the tits though
I think TSA is weak compared to 64 for a variety of reasons I don't feel like explaining right now but I'll just say making it gird-based was one of them.
Outta my way fags, best racing game coming through:
tfw my copy had the 511-bug in Area 6
that nuts n bolts jab
Woah, I can't remember anything about this but I am 100% sure I rented it once.
meme game
Call me a fag but it's probably m64 or ocarina of timeb
WORK YA BODY WORK YA BODY
Paper Mario
>The N64 is twice as old to people today as the NES was when the N64 released
I just can't wrap my head around it. The era of 2D gaming seems so much longer than 3D gaming has been around.
SM64 was amazing and still enjoyable today.
Goldeneye was amazing and is absolutely unplayable.
I guess SM64?
...
Duke Nukem Zero Hour was a pretty cool game desu
The World is not Enough > goldeneye
>N64 is 20 years old.
>Next year Call of Duty 4 is 10 years old.
Jesus fuck the stagnation is real.
>SM64

Reminder that Nintendo will never again put out a system with the primary focus of delivering high quality, fun games over hardware gimmicks.
Where my No Mercy fags at?
SUCKO
This doesn't exactly disprove that it's a meme game.
>I never played the game the post
This, DooM64, Blast Corps, and battletanx 2 Global assault were my shit.
DIG-DIG-DIGGITY DAWG
damn thats like gran turismo with better graphix
Fucking thank you my actual nigger
I was always scared to do that stealth mission as a kid for some reason.
this and Mario Tennis
and like 10 other games because the N64 had a fantastic library
This one, Goldeneye and Diddy kong racing.
Rented it one weekend on a whim when I was younger and to this day it remains my favorite spinoff sports game.
Also the ost was pretty good for a tennis game.

THOSE ALIEN SCUM ARE GONNA PAY FOR SHOOTING UP MY RIDE
>tfw you hear about Winback 2
>super excited
>buy it on release
it's completely different from the original
has no returning characters and the plot is somehow worse
Best Mario Party
>remember the 'sequel' for xbox one
From Wiki, "one of the last racing simulations to be released for Nintendo 64, this graphically intensive title uses custom microcode optimization and high polygon count modelling. The development team was able to optimize the usage of the various processors within the N64 to allow a great draw distance (reducing the need for fog or pop-up), highly detailed texturing and models, Doppler effect MP3 audio, and advanced lighting and fog effects for realistic weather conditions. Increasingly prevalent toward the latter years of the N64's commercial lifetime, the game has a high resolution 640x480 mode that does not require the add-on N64 RAM Expansion Pak. Additionally, unlike many other games of its type on the platform, the game runs high resolution at a smooth pace."
It may have been okay as a racer, but it hauled ass on N64 hardware.
I just played through stage 1-6 and holy shit you got to controll a blockman!!
I feel like anything treasure has made is both pretty fun and pretty good lookin.
Patrician taste in kart racing.
100% this, I loved that game.
my favorite missions were city of walkways II and the forest one where you get the crossbow.
I have no idea why not many games use the type of RL in pic-related, the only other game I know of that uses it is Far Cry 1. its swaggish
Man I love you guys right now

Anybody has played this? it always intrigued me
I rented it once.
"It's a NEW LAP RECORD" and "its working... ITS WORKING" pops up in my head now and then
muthaphuckin buck bumble bitches
1. Zelda Ocarina of Time
2. Zelda Majora's Mask
3. Perfect Dark
In that order.
>he thinks his parents money is his money
Lol.
>having poor parents
i still had both consoles and played both of them. faggot.
>that feel when 95% of N64 games didn't even use half of the GPU properly
>tfw there will never be a console generation that has so many good/enjoyable games.
It's not about getting older, newer games are simply more shit.
>shitting on R2 with Reversal Heracross that you trained by hand
Fuck just looking at the boxart gave me a nostalgia rush. So many hours into that game. I think my old teams are still saved on there, I'd need to find the cart.
Got this game, it had weird language options such as Dutch, French and Greek but not English. The game looked terrible but it had amazing music that fits the setting perfectly.
>mickey's peedway 'USA'
>Mickyey's super angry on the cover
pottery
Aw come on. The Gamecube Mario Parties were good.
no, i agree. they were good. not as good as the n64 ones, and got progressively worse too though, which is why i said downhill
HEYIMGONNATHROWYOUOVERTHERE
Huh. Funny. I was only playing N64 games a few days ago.
I don't quite have a certain favorite one.
1. Super Mario 64
2. Mario Kart 64
3. Banjo Kazooie
4, Diddy Kong Racing
5. Goldeneye
runner up: Bomberman 64
I don't like Zelda.
Is there a game that completely pushed the N64 to its limits?
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Pokemon stadium
Super smash bros
Mario 64
Golden eye
Mario party 2 and 3
Scooby Doo
Banjo tooie
F zero
If you didnt play these, you were a pleb
I played a lot of Mario Tennis, OoT, MM, SS bros, and Star Wars Podracer. Also played a fair amount of Pokemon Colosseum and a little Hey You Pikachu but it wasn't as fun as I hoped it would be. Colosseum I died to have though and liked it a lot
