I still don't know how to feel about it, I could see it being absolutely abysmal, a fresh start for the series or just completely meh with 7.25 review scores from every magazine.

I remember when I was a kid and the first RE4 trailers came out I could somehow tell the game was gonna be great from when I first saw it, and I don't quite have that same feeling with RE7

I think Dead Aim has its merits. Spooky setting. Cheesy characters and story. Gameplay is kinda shit but it gives you some tension and scares that the classic style can't really replicate. Also has a fucking cool electronic soundtrack and my personal favorite RE save theme.

They're really not. The pacing is DRASTICALLY different, the mood/ambiance is different, how the guns feel is different. RE4 fulled embraced how shlockey it was and rolled with it, while RE5 took itself seriously and created the dumbest fucking retcon.

It's literally the same game, baby. Played re4-rev2 for the first time last month the only difference is that inventory was made with co op in mind, the controls are much better and the mood which was shit in re4 too is different.
