Horror games are where it is at.

>Grim Fandango
Uhhhhh, what?

youtube.com/watch?v=XaANMWaDnbI

The Lost Crown
The Last Crown: Midnight Horror
Viscera Cleanup Detail: House of Horror

Not out yet tier:
Friday the 13th
Rays the Dead

I started a game of VtM:B I played a lot of it before but gave up around that hobo house late-game., probably gonna play REMake and finish Aria of Sorrow.

>that hobo house late-game
The fucking what?

Gonna finish Luigis Mansion Darkmoon

Might play Alan Wake (nightmare mode)

Maybe some Ghostbusters (09)

Ah yes, Alan Wake is a good one for Halloween.
Don't forget Murdered: Soul Suspect.
Nothing more Halloween than roaming the town of Salem as a ghost collecting creepypasta.

Pathologic
The Void
Knock-Knock

IPL are the fucking MASTERS of Fall atmosphere.

I think I might replay Condemned 1 for halloween this year.

>tfw costume quest 2 was absolute trash
Yeah, getting rid of the Halloween feel of your fucking Halloween game was a great idea.

Thread theme
youtu.be/8wUixhV13gI

Also does anyone have that spliced ytp like version?

Guilty Gear

Seriously? What did they do to it?
Costume Quest 1 wasn't fantastic but it was a nice comfy few hours. Battle system was pretty boring though.

Was it really trash? I played like half way through it seemed quite good so far.
They pulled a Halloween Tree type thing by going back into the past and future and stuff.

I don't remember it very well, there's some really decayed apartment or something, I think I recognized it as that place downtown with an outdoor elevator.

I can't say for sure where it was in the game, but considering what I hear about how rushed the game was later on it was probably well over the half-way point.

Maybe trash is too harsh, but I'd say it's a solid 5/10 compared to 1 being 9/10. Even on sale I felt like I could have gotten a better game.

I did REmake Jill last year so it's REmake Jill this year

>Luigi's Mansion
>Coprse Party
>Other spooky RPGMaker games
Also the 25th I'm getting Yomawari since it looks pretty good, legit hyped for it.

Every year I try to play
>Silent Hill 2 and 3
>Resident Evil
>Alien Isolation
>Dead Space

Well, I wouldn't instantly say a horror game is Halloween style.

I'd instead mention games that have special levels or events.

>Runescape: Halloween Event
>Red Dead Remption; The zombe wahtever
>Boo Camp from Fire Emblem Fates
>Nightmare before Christmas: Kingdom hearts, Chain of Memories.

>>Silent Hill 2 and 3
...no love for 1? The best game in the series?

Dia de los muertos

Dungeon Keeper?

Forgot:
The Halloween-ish levels from Rollercoaster Tycoon

IT'S YO FIGHTIN' FREAK KNUCKLES

This October I plan on replaying Sanitarium and then playing Dead Space and Eternal Darkness for the first time.

RIP in peace Larry

He probably means Hallowbrook Hotel which
indeed was a god awful level

>oh shit its halloween
>time to try to play lugis mansion again
>get bored as fuck with the intro tutorial
>kill baby ghost
>quit
>forgot to save
>dont want to do it all over again

ive done that every october for 7 years

>Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge
>Bloodborne
>Animal Crossing

>Vita only
Fug

>Hobobrook Hotel

It's coming out on Steam also.
store.steampowered.com/app/477870/

I would throw in Deadly Premonition and Psychonauts as good october gaming

Nice.

>get hyped for Halloween every year
>it always passes by before I get to have any fun
>this year it's a Monday
>I'll be working all day and going to class at night
>I won't even get to give candy to the dumb kids

Why bother?

Uhhhhh, what?

Day of the Dead games are acceptable for Halloween too.

He's a totally idiot, better to just ignore them.

>Parasite Eve
>Castlevania 64 and Aria of Sorrow
>RE2
>Clock Tower
>.hack// not technically a spooky game, but it's pretty spooky
>Ao Oni
>maybe some other RPG maker game
I'm ready

youtube.com/watch?v=2dW4UgE5mhY
>it had to be my dick because my ass wasn't there

Alice madness returns

That looks like where I gave up, yeah.

How much further did I have to go at that point? Again, the game got a lot more combat-oriented so I suspect it was pretty late-game.

I'm planning an Alien Isolation replay and maybe a Dead Space 3 replay also.

>Alan Wake (nightmare mode)

Reminder that this is the correct way to play the game and that you can do it without beating the game first.

Typing of the Dead Overkill is also very Halloween.

youtube.com/watch?v=f9PlKrWJ-zk

About 4-ish hours I'd say

How is pic related? I don't know if I should get this or Alien Isolation.

This was so much better than Alien Isolation in my opinion.
But I never finished Alien, so I don't know if my opinion is very useful, however, it's pretty good, the mechanics are well thought, like remove traps to build bullets, and lighting ennemies on fire to kill them quickly.

Can anyone recommend some good horror games preferably that are free and aren't just jump scare fests?

So far all I'm playing this October is Dead Rising (And 2 and OTR) but those don't really spook me like the first one originally did years ago, I've grown numb to Dead Rising for the most part.

For me it will probably entail playing one of my favorite "horror" themed games, Splatterhouse. There is something endlessly endearing about its charnel-house aesthetic mixed liberally with slasher movie references. Love that music too!
youtube.com/watch?v=_ehd-JomX_Y
youtube.com/watch?v=AJ9hZDC_IQA
>necromancer funk beat
youtube.com/watch?v=Vaz-DQEgKyY
>mozzarella boss beatdown

I'd like to try and finally beat Splatterhouse 2 (I find it really hard for some reason...), and maybe finally make some progress in the Ghouls n' Ghosts series.

Other than that I am playing through the Silent Hill games for the first time and am loving it.

youtube.com/watch?v=zdFDhze6MdU

>Game by the makers of
>Rick & Morty
>The Stanley Parable

This is probably going to be Octobre's highlight hands down

Dead Rising was never really a fucking horror series to begin with.

Not for free, but if you had not played those yet, give a try to:
Penumbra: Overture and Black Plague (don't bother with Requiem)
Amnesia: Dark Descent (Machine for Pigs is not really worth it in my opinion, but it's not as bad as Requiem)
Alien: Isolation
Silent Hill 1-4 (Shattered Memories and Downpour aren't entirely terrible either)
Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason
Clockwork Tower
Sanitarium
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
Bad Mojo

who here /payne2/

This is my favourite Cred Forums post of the day, thanks user

At least my character has a funnier name he's a Ventrue Martin Shkreli and I'm probably distributing my stats less badly.

Supposedly the one exception to disciplines in Elysium zones is blood-buffing to pick locks, but I can't seem to even do that.

Anyone replaying this?

I've played a bit of both.
The Evil Within is very Resident Evil 4-esque.
It feels tactical in the sense that you have a lot of weapons to choose from and each weapon has a distinct use and caters to a specific situation. For example you can pick up an axe that is like a one time use melee but deals a lot of damage, and you have to burn enemy bodies with matches which requires some scavenging and managing. There is a good sense of progression. However the story was the typical meh imo.

Alien Isolation is your typical first person survival horror. The intelligence of the alien is overstated imo, most of the time it just feels like its cheating. Story is pretty interesting but it never gets to the heights of Dead Space. But the design of everything is great and very faithful to the Alien aesthetic.

TEW for gameplay, Alien Isolation for story.

System Shock 2

I'm probably just going to play Yomawari when it comes out

fuck system shock 1
system shock 2 remaster when?

Halloween themed games on PS4? Please I need help.

Destiny will have Festival of the Lost soon :^)

Fuck is that backwards compatible for Xbox 360 in Europe? Anyone know.

Nigga don't give me bad answers. I thought of one anyway. Evil within. Also I fucka your momma. Your moms a BITCHHHH

RE4
REmake
Siren
Siren 2
Siren: Blood Curse
Bloodborne

>LIMBO
>Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
>Betrayer
>Silent Hill 3

gonna be a good season

AS IF YOU HAVE TO ASK

i keep trying to replay this, but as soon as I enter the underworld, i want to kill myself

Nah. Don't bother. Every time I go back and try to play I am bored out my ducking box.

>Dead Rising 1
>Resident Evil 1 remaster
>Bloodborne
FN@F1
>and pic

Seriously, this Oogie's Revenge is a Underated Gem.
Everyone is in character, the monster designs and boss fights are amazing.

It's basically Nightmare before Christmas:Devil May Cry edition.

>dead rising 2,OFT
>Bloodborne.
>halloween quest
>REmake,re 4 and 5
>maybe dead rising
>maybe dead risng 1

How does it run on a ps2 emulator? Or is it on the psn store?

>conclusion never

youtube.com/watch?v=ZZICvdSeKec

>TFW I've owned Manhunt on the PS2 for like 12 years now
>have attempted to beat it twice years ago but never managed to do it, always stopping when they introduce guns

Should I finish it, Cred Forums?

Too bad my dog chewed and destroyed my PS2 headset. Having that one guy that talks to you through comm through the headset made it way more creepy.

I've heard it runs good on a emulator, not sure what will happen if you fuck around with fps though.
Not on the PSN store sadly.

damn that hit my nostalgia hard

btw she lives on hard

>TFW can't play P.T. anymore

Fuck you, Konami.

Resident evil biohazard seems to be picking up where PT left off. It's not as promising but still.

Every year.

>another year passes
>RDR still isn't on PC
Goddamn, I really don't want to break out my PS3 just to play Undead Nightmares.

But I will.

>not having all your consoles next to each other in case you ever feel like playing something on 'em

I still have my PS2 and PS3 out. I havent used them in a long time but they're there just in case.
Will be playing RE4 on PS2 and RDR: UN on PS3.
