Emulation is really only useful if you haven't hacked it. A hacked 3DS by nature, will always run better than Citra simply because you don't have to apply fixes or deal with choppiness or potential crashes. The games are running on the hardware they are intended to run on, so it's really just plug and play.

Emulation's great and all but it's something you should really only do if you don't have the hacked hardware on hand.

Or unless it's the PSP and you're jonesing for the PSP MonHun.
